    וַיְהִיand it came to passבִּימֵיin the days ofאַמְרָפֶלAmraphelמֶלֶךְ־שִׁנְעָרking of ShinarאַרְיוֹךְAriochמֶלֶךְthe king ofאֶלָּסָרEllasarכְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרChedorlaomerמֶלֶךְthe king ofעֵילָםElamוְתִדְעָלand Tidalמֶלֶךְthe king ofגּוֹיִם׃Goiim

    And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

    עָשׂוּthey didמִלְחָמָהwarאֶת־בֶּרַעBeraמֶלֶךְthe king ofסְדֹםSodomוְאֶת־בִּרְשַׁעand Birshaמֶלֶךְthe king ofעֲמֹרָהGomorrahשִׁנְאָבShinabמֶלֶךְthe king ofאַדְמָהAdmahוְשֶׁמְאֵבֶרand Shemeberמֶלֶךְthe king of(צביים)[צְבוֹיִם]Zeboyimוּמֶלֶךְand the king ofבֶּלַעBelaהִיא־צֹעַר׃it is Zoar

    That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

    כׇּל־אֵלֶּהall theseחָבְרוּthey joined togetherאֶל־עֵמֶקto the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּיםthe Siddimהוּאthat isיָםthe seaהַמֶּלַח׃the salt

    All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

    שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵהtwelveשָׁנָהyearsעָבְדוּthey did serveאֶת־כְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרChedorlaomerוּשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהand thirteenשָׁנָהyearsמָרָדוּ׃they rebelled

    Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

    וּבְאַרְבַּע־עֶשְׂרֵהand on the fourteenthשָׁנָהyearבָּאcameכְדׇרְלָעֹמֶרChedorlaomerוְהַמְּלָכִיםand the kingsאֲשֶׁרwhichאִתּוֹwith himוַיַּכּוּand struckאֶת־רְפָאִיםthe Rephaimבְּעַשְׁתְּרֹתin AshterothקַרְנַיִםKarnaimוְאֶת־הַזּוּזִיםand the Zuzitesבְּהָםin Hamוְאֵתandהָאֵימִיםthe Emimsבְּשָׁוֵהin Shavehקִרְיָתָיִם׃Kirjathaim

    And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

    וְאֶת־הַחֹרִיand the Horitesבְּהַרְרָםin their hill countryשֵׂעִירSeirעַדuntilאֵילa ramפָּארָןParanאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־הַמִּדְבָּר׃upon the wilderness

    And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-paran, which is by the wilderness.

    וַיָּשֻׁבוּand they turned backוַיָּבֹאוּand they cameאֶל־עֵיןto En-מִשְׁפָּטmishpatהִואthat isקָדֵשׁKadeshוַיַּכּוּand struckאֶת־כׇּל־שְׂדֵהall the country ofהָעֲמָלֵקִיthe Amalekiteוְגַםand alsoאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִיthe Amoriteהַיֹּשֵׁבwho dweltבְּחַצְצֹןin Hazezonתָּמָר׃Tamar

    And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

    וַיֵּצֵאand went outמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםking of Sodomוּמֶלֶךְand the king ofעֲמֹרָהGomorrahוּמֶלֶךְand the king ofאַדְמָהAdmahוּמֶלֶךְand the king of(צביים)[צְבוֹיִם]Zeboyimוּמֶלֶךְand the king ofבֶּלַעBelaהִוא־צֹעַרthat is Zoarוַיַּעַרְכוּand they deployedאִתָּםwith themמִלְחָמָהwarבְּעֵמֶקin the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּים׃the Siddim

    And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

    אֵת־כְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרChedorlaomerמֶלֶךְthe king ofעֵילָםElamוְתִדְעָלand Tidalמֶלֶךְthe king ofגּוֹיִםGoiimוְאַמְרָפֶלand Amraphelמֶלֶךְthe king ofשִׁנְעָרShinarוְאַרְיוֹךְand Ariochמֶלֶךְthe king ofאֶלָּסָרEllasarאַרְבָּעָהfourמְלָכִיםkingsאֶת־הַחֲמִשָּׁה׃the five

    With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

    וְעֵמֶקand the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּיםthe Siddimבֶּאֱרֹתwas full of pitsבֶּאֱרֹתpits ofחֵמָרbitumenוַיָּנֻסוּand fledמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםking of Sodomוַעֲמֹרָהand Gomorrahוַיִּפְּלוּ־שָׁמָּהand they fell thereוְהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםand the remainingהֶרָהtoward the hill countryנָּסוּ׃they fled

    And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

    וַיִּקְחוּand they tookאֶת־כׇּל־רְכֻשׁall the possessions ofסְדֹםSodomוַעֲמֹרָהand Gomorrahוְאֶת־כׇּל־אׇכְלָםand all their foodוַיֵּלֵכוּ׃and they went

    And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

    וַיִּקְחוּand they tookאֶת־לוֹטLotוְאֶת־רְכֻשׁוֹand his possessionsבֶּן־אֲחִיson of the brother ofאַבְרָםAbramוַיֵּלֵכוּand they wentוְהוּאand heיֹשֵׁבdweltבִּסְדֹם׃in Sodom

    And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

  13. 13

    וַיָּבֹאand cameהַפָּלִיטthe fugitiveוַיַּגֵּדand toldלְאַבְרָםAbramהָעִבְרִיthe Hebrewוְהוּאand heשֹׁכֵןwas dwellingבְּאֵלֹנֵיat the great trees ofמַמְרֵאMamreהָאֱמֹרִיthe Amoriteאֲחִיthe brother ofאֶשְׁכֹּלEshcolוַאֲחִיand brother ofעָנֵרAnerוְהֵםand theyבַּעֲלֵיwere alliesבְרִית־אַבְרָם׃in covenant with Abram

    And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

  14. 14

    וַיִּשְׁמַעand heardאַבְרָםAbramכִּיthatנִשְׁבָּהhe had been taken captiveאָחִיוhis kinsmanוַיָּרֶקand he drew outאֶת־חֲנִיכָיוhis trained menיְלִידֵיthose born ofבֵיתוֹhis houseשְׁמֹנָה־עָשָׂרeighteenוּשְׁלֹשׁand threeמֵאוֹתhundredוַיִּרְדֹּףand pursuedעַד־דָּן׃until Dan

    And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

  15. 15

    וַיֵּחָלֵקand he divided himselfעֲלֵיהֶםupon themלַיְלָהnightהוּאheוַעֲבָדָיוand his servantsוַיַּכֵּםand he smote themוַיִּרְדְּפֵםand he pursued themעַד־חוֹבָהuntil Hobahאֲשֶׁרwhichמִשְּׂמֹאלon the leftלְדַמָּשֶׂק׃of Damascus

    And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

    וַיָּשֶׁבand returnedאֵת־כׇּל־הָרְכֻשׁall the possessionsוְגַםand alsoאֶת־לוֹטLotאָחִיוhis kinsmanוּרְכֻשׁוֹand his possessionsהֵשִׁיבhe restoredוְגַםand alsoאֶת־הַנָּשִׁיםthe womenוְאֶת־הָעָם׃and the people

    And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

  17. 17

    וַיֵּצֵאand went outמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםking of Sodomלִקְרָאתוֹto meet himאַחֲרֵיafterשׁוּבוֹhis returnמֵהַכּוֹתfrom defeatingאֶת־כְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרChedorlaomerוְאֶת־הַמְּלָכִיםand the kingsאֲשֶׁרwhichאִתּוֹwith himאֶל־עֵמֶקto the valley ofשָׁוֵהShavehהוּאthat isעֵמֶקthe valley ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃the king

    And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.

  18. 18

    וּמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶקand Melchizedekמֶלֶךְthe king ofשָׁלֵםSalemהוֹצִיאbrought outלֶחֶםbreadוָיָיִןand wineוְהוּאand he wasכֹהֵןpriestלְאֵלof Godעֶלְיוֹן׃Most High

    And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

  19. 19

    וַיְבָרְכֵהוּand he blessed himוַיֹּאמַרand saidבָּרוּךְblessedאַבְרָםAbramלְאֵלof GodעֶלְיוֹןMost Highקֹנֵהthe creator ofשָׁמַיִםthe heavensוָאָרֶץ׃and earth

    And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

  20. 20

    וּבָרוּךְand blessedאֵלGodעֶלְיוֹןMost Highאֲשֶׁר־מִגֵּןwho has deliveredצָרֶיךָyour enemiesבְּיָדֶךָinto your handוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹand gave to himמַעֲשֵׂרtitheמִכֹּל׃of all

    And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

  21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםking of Sodomאֶל־אַבְרָםto Abramתֶּן־לִיgive to meהַנֶּפֶשׁthe soulוְהָרְכֻשׁand the possessionsקַח־לָךְ׃take for you

    And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

  22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאַבְרָםAbramאֶל־מֶלֶךְto the king ofסְדֹםSodomהֲרִמֹתִיI have liftedיָדִיmy handאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDאֵלGodעֶלְיוֹןMost Highקֹנֵהthe creator ofשָׁמַיִםthe heavensוָאָרֶץ׃and earth

    And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

  23. 23

    אִם־מִחוּטif from a threadוְעַדand untoשְׂרוֹךְ־נַעַלthe latchet of a sandalוְאִם־אֶקַּחand if I takeמִכׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לָךְof all that is yoursוְלֹאlestתֹאמַרyou sayאֲנִיIהֶעֱשַׁרְתִּיhave made richאֶת־אַבְרָם׃Abram

    That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

  24. 24

    בִּלְעָדַיother than meרַקonlyאֲשֶׁרwhichאָכְלוּdid partakeהַנְּעָרִיםthe young menוְחֵלֶקand a part ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםthe menאֲשֶׁרwhichהָלְכוּwentאִתִּיwith meעָנֵרAnerאֶשְׁכֹּלEshcolוּמַמְרֵאand Mamreהֵםtheyיִקְחוּmay takeחֶלְקָם׃their portion

    Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
