   And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

   That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

   כׇּל־אֵלֶּהkol-EL/leall theseחָבְרוּcha/ve/RUwere joined togetherאֶל־עֵמֶקel-E/mekin the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּיםHas/sid/DIMSiddimהוּאhuwhich isיָםyamthe seaהַמֶּלַח׃ham/ME/lachof salt

   All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

   שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵהshtem-es/REtwelveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsעָבְדוּa/ve/DUthey servedאֶת־כְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרet-Ke/dor/la/O/merChedorlaomerוּשְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהu/she/LOSH-es/REand thirteenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָרָדוּ׃ma/RA/duthey rebelled

   Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

   וּבְאַרְבַּע־עֶשְׂרֵהu/ve/ar/BA-es/REand in the fourteenthשָׁנָהsha/NAyearבָּאbacameכְדׇרְלָעֹמֶרKhe/dor/la/O/merChedorlaomerוְהַמְּלָכִיםve/ham/me/la/KHIMand the kingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיַּכּוּvay/yak/KUand smoteאֶת־רְפָאִיםet-Re/fa/IMthe Rephaimבְּעַשְׁתְּרֹתbe/Ash/te/ROTin Ashteroth-קַרְנַיִםkar/NA/yimkarnaimוְאֶת־הַזּוּזִיםve/ET-haz/zu/ZIMand the Zuzitesבְּהָםbe/HAMin Hamוְאֵתve/ETandהָאֵימִיםha/E/MIMthe Emimבְּשָׁוֵהbe/Sha/VEin Shaveh-קִרְיָתָיִם׃kir/ya/TA/yimkiriathaim

   And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

   וְאֶת־הַחֹרִיve/ET-ha/cho/RIand the Horitesבְּהַרְרָםbe/har/RAMin their mountשֵׂעִירSe/IRSeirעַדaduntoאֵילElEl-פָּארָןpa/RANparanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isעַל־הַמִּדְבָּר׃al-ham/mid/BARby the wilderness

   And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-paran, which is by the wilderness.

   וַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־עֵיןel-Ento En-מִשְׁפָּטmish/PATmishpatהִואhivthat isקָדֵשׁKa/DESHKadeshוַיַּכּוּvay/yak/KUand smoteאֶת־כׇּל־שְׂדֵהet-kol-se/DEall the country ofהָעֲמָלֵקִיha/A/ma/le/KIthe Amalekiteוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִיet-Ha/e/mo/RIthe Amoriteהַיֹּשֵׁבhay/yo/SHEVwho dweltבְּחַצְצֹןbe/Chats/TSONin Hazezon-תָּמָר׃ta/MARtamar

   And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

   וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםME/lekh-Se/DOMthe king of Sodomוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofעֲמֹרָהA/mo/RAGomorrahוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofאַדְמָהAd/MAAdmahוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king of(צביים)tsavayayam[צְבוֹיִם]Tse/vo/YIMZeboiimוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofבֶּלַעBE/laBelaהִוא־צֹעַרhiv-TSO/arthe same is Zoarוַיַּעַרְכוּvay/ya/ar/KHUand they joinedאִתָּםit/TAMwith themמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAbattleבְּעֵמֶקbe/E/mekin the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּים׃Has/sid/DIMSiddim

   And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

   With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

    וְעֵמֶקve/E/mekand the valley ofהַשִּׂדִּיםHas/sid/DIMSiddimבֶּאֱרֹתbe/e/ROTpitsבֶּאֱרֹתbe/e/ROTpits ofחֵמָרche/MARbitumenוַיָּנֻסוּvay/ya/NU/suand fledמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםME/lekh-Se/DOMthe king of Sodomוַעֲמֹרָהva/A/mo/RAand Gomorrahוַיִּפְּלוּ־שָׁמָּהvay/yip/pe/LU-SHAM/maand fell thereוְהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםve/han/nish/a/RIMand they that remainedהֶרָהHE/rato the mountainנָּסוּ׃NA/suthey fled

    And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

    וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאֶת־כׇּל־רְכֻשׁet-kol-re/KHUSHall the goods ofסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomוַעֲמֹרָהva/A/mo/RAand Gomorrahוְאֶת־כׇּל־אׇכְלָםve/ET-kol-okh/LAMand all their foodוַיֵּלֵכוּ׃vay/ye/LE/khuand went their way

    And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

12. 12

    וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאֶת־לוֹטet-LotLotוְאֶת־רְכֻשׁוֹve/ET-re/khu/SHOand his goodsבֶּן־אֲחִיben-a/CHIthe son of the brother ofאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramוַיֵּלֵכוּvay/ye/LE/khuand they wentוְהוּאve/HUand heיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVdweltבִּסְדֹם׃Bis/DOMin Sodom

    And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameהַפָּלִיטhap/pa/LITone that had escapedוַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand toldלְאַבְרָםLe/av/RAMAbramהָעִבְרִיha/Iv/RIthe Hebrewוְהוּאve/HUfor heשֹׁכֵןsho/KHENdweltבְּאֵלֹנֵיbe/e/lo/NEby the oaks ofמַמְרֵאMam/REMamreהָאֱמֹרִיha/E/mo/RIthe Amoriteאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofאֶשְׁכֹּלEsh/KOLEshcolוַאֲחִיva/a/CHIand the brother ofעָנֵרA/NERAnerוְהֵםve/HEMand theyבַּעֲלֵיba/a/LEwere masters ofבְרִית־אַבְרָם׃ve/RIT-av/RAMthe covenant of Abram

    And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

14. 14

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramכִּיkithatנִשְׁבָּהnish/BAwas taken captiveאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherוַיָּרֶקvay/YA/rekand he led outאֶת־חֲנִיכָיוet-cha/ni/KHAYVhis trained servantsיְלִידֵיye/li/DEborn inבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseשְׁמֹנָה־עָשָׂרshe/mo/NA-a/SAReighteenוּשְׁלֹשׁu/she/LOSHand threeמֵאוֹתme/OThundredוַיִּרְדֹּףvay/yir/DOFand pursuedעַד־דָּן׃ad-Danunto Dan

    And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

15. 15

    וַיֵּחָלֵקvay/ye/cha/LEKand he divided himselfעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themלַיְלָהLAY/laby nightהוּאhuheוַעֲבָדָיוva/a/va/DAYVand his servantsוַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand smote themוַיִּרְדְּפֵםvay/yir/de/FEMand he pursued themעַד־חוֹבָהad-Cho/VAunto Hobahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichמִשְּׂמֹאלmis/se/MOLon the left handלְדַמָּשֶׂק׃le/Dam/MA/sekof Damascus

    And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

16. 16

    וַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevand he brought backאֵת־כׇּל־הָרְכֻשׁet-kol-ha/re/KHUSHall the goodsוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־לוֹטet-LotLotאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherוּרְכֻשׁוֹu/re/khu/SHOand his goodsהֵשִׁיבhe/SHIVbrought againוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־הַנָּשִׁיםet-han/na/SHIMthe womenוְאֶת־הָעָם׃ve/ET-ha/AMand the people

    And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

17. 17

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםME/lekh-Se/DOMthe king of Sodomלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOto meet himאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterשׁוּבוֹshu/VOhis returnמֵהַכּוֹתme/hak/KOTfrom the slaughter ofאֶת־כְּדׇרְלָעֹמֶרet-Ke/dor/la/O/merChedorlaomerוְאֶת־הַמְּלָכִיםve/ET-ham/me/la/KHIMand the kingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֶל־עֵמֶקel-E/mekto the valley ofשָׁוֵהSha/VEShavehהוּאhuwhich isעֵמֶקE/mekthe valley ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.

    וּמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶקu/Mal/KI-TSE/dekand MelchizedekמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofשָׁלֵםSha/LEMSalemהוֹצִיאho/TSIbrought forthלֶחֶםLE/chembreadוָיָיִןva/YA/yinand wineוְהוּאve/HUand he wasכֹהֵןkho/HENthe priestלְאֵלle/ELof Godעֶלְיוֹן׃El/YONMost High

    And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19. 19

    וַיְבָרְכֵהוּvay/va/re/KHE/huand he blessed himוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessedאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramלְאֵלle/ELof GodעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONMost Highקֹנֵהko/NEpossessor ofשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimheavenוָאָרֶץ׃va/A/retsand earth

    And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20. 20

    וּבָרוּךְu/va/RUKHand blessedאֵלelGodעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONMost Highאֲשֶׁר־מִגֵּןa/SHER-mig/GENwho has deliveredצָרֶיךָtsa/RE/khayour enemiesבְּיָדֶךָbe/ya/DE/khainto your handוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹvay/YIT/ten-loand he gave himמַעֲשֵׂרma/a/SERa tenthמִכֹּל׃mik/KOLof all

    And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֶלֶךְ־סְדֹםME/lekh-Se/DOMthe king of Sodomאֶל־אַבְרָםel-Av/RAMto Abramתֶּן־לִיten-ligive meהַנֶּפֶשׁhan/NE/feshthe personsוְהָרְכֻשׁve/ha/re/KHUSHand the possessionsקַח־לָךְ׃kach-lakhtake to yourself

    And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomהֲרִמֹתִיha/ri/MO/tiI have lifted upיָדִיya/DImy handאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֵלelGodעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONMost Highקֹנֵהko/NEpossessor ofשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimheavenוָאָרֶץ׃va/A/retsand earth

    And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

23. 23

    אִם־מִחוּטim-mi/CHUTnot from a threadוְעַדve/ADeven toשְׂרוֹךְ־נַעַלse/ROKH-NA/ala sandal strapוְאִם־אֶקַּחve/IM-ek/KACHand I will not takeמִכׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לָךְmik/KOL-a/SHER-lakhof any that is yoursוְלֹאve/LOlestתֹאמַרto/MARyou should sayאֲנִיa/NIIהֶעֱשַׁרְתִּיhe/e/SHAR/tihave made richאֶת־אַבְרָם׃et-Av/RAMAbram

    That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

24. 24

    בִּלְעָדַיbil/a/DAYnothing for meרַקrakonlyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat whichאָכְלוּa/khe/LUhave eatenהַנְּעָרִיםhan/ne/a/RIMthe young menוְחֵלֶקve/CHE/lekand the portion ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat whichהָלְכוּha/le/KHUwentאִתִּיit/TIwith meעָנֵרA/NERAnerאֶשְׁכֹּלEsh/KOLEshcolוּמַמְרֵאu/Mam/REand Mamreהֵםhemlet themיִקְחוּyik/CHUtakeחֶלְקָם׃chel/KAMtheir portion

    Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
