Genesis 10 בְּרֵאשִׁית פרק י׳

1. 1

   וְאֵלֶּהand theseתּוֹלְדֹתthe generations ofבְּנֵי־נֹחַsons of NoahשֵׁםShemחָםHamוָיָפֶתand Japhethוַיִּוָּלְדוּand were bornלָהֶםto themבָּנִיםsonsאַחַרafterהַמַּבּוּל׃the flood

   Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

2. 2

   בְּנֵיthe sons ofיֶפֶתJaphethגֹּמֶרGomerוּמָגוֹגand Magogוּמָדַיand Madaiוְיָוָןand Javanוְתֻבָלand Tubalוּמֶשֶׁךְand Meshechוְתִירָס׃and Tiras

   The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

3. 3

   וּבְנֵיand sons ofגֹּמֶרGomerאַשְׁכְּנַזAshkenazוְרִיפַתand Riphathוְתֹגַרְמָה׃and Togarmah

   And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

4. 4

   וּבְנֵיand sons ofיָוָןJavanאֱלִישָׁהElishaוְתַרְשִׁישׁand TarshishכִּתִּיםKittimוְדֹדָנִים׃and Dodanim

   And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

   מֵאֵלֶּהfrom theseנִפְרְדוּthey separatedאִיֵּיthe isles ofהַגּוֹיִםthe nationsבְּאַרְצֹתָםin their landsאִישׁeachלִלְשֹׁנוֹafter his tongueלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםafter their familiesבְּגוֹיֵהֶם׃in their nations

   By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

6. 6

   וּבְנֵיand sons ofחָםHamכּוּשׁCushוּמִצְרַיִםand Egyptוּפוּטand Putוּכְנָעַן׃and Canaan

   And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

7. 7

   וּבְנֵיand sons ofכוּשׁCushסְבָאSebaוַחֲוִילָהand Havilahוְסַבְתָּהand Sabtahוְרַעְמָהand Ramahוְסַבְתְּכָאand Sabtechaוּבְנֵיand sons ofרַעְמָהRamahשְׁבָאShebaוּדְדָן׃and Dedan

   And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

8. 8

   וְכוּשׁand Cushיָלַדbegatאֶת־נִמְרֹדNimrodהוּאheהֵחֵלbeganלִהְיוֹתto beגִּבֹּרa mighty manבָּאָרֶץ׃in the land

   And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9. 9

   הוּא־הָיָהhe wasגִבֹּר־צַיִדa mighty man of hunterלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDעַל־כֵּןthereforeיֵאָמַרit is saidכְּנִמְרֹדlike Nimrodגִּבּוֹרmightyצַיִדhuntingלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

10. 10

    וַתְּהִיand wasרֵאשִׁיתthe beginning ofמַמְלַכְתּוֹhis kingdomבָּבֶלBabylonוְאֶרֶךְand Erechוְאַכַּדand Akkadוְכַלְנֵהand Calnehבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofשִׁנְעָר׃Shinar

    And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11. 11

    מִן־הָאָרֶץfrom the landהַהִואthatיָצָאhe went forthאַשּׁוּרAssyriaוַיִּבֶןand builtאֶת־נִינְוֵהNinevehוְאֶת־רְחֹבֹתand Rehobothעִירthe city ofוְאֶת־כָּלַח׃and Calah

    Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

12. 12

    וְאֶת־רֶסֶןand ResenבֵּיןbetweenנִינְוֵהNinevehוּבֵיןand betweenכָּלַחCalahהִואthat isהָעִירthe cityהַגְּדֹלָה׃the great

    And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

13. 13

    וּמִצְרַיִםand Egyptיָלַדbegatאֶת־לוּדִיםthe Luditesוְאֶת־עֲנָמִיםand the Anamitesוְאֶת־לְהָבִיםand the Lehabitesוְאֶת־נַפְתֻּחִים׃and the Naphtuhites

    And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

14. 14

    וְאֶת־פַּתְרֻסִיםand the Pathrusitesוְאֶת־כַּסְלֻחִיםand the Casluhitesאֲשֶׁרfrom whomיָצְאוּwent forthמִשָּׁםfrom thereפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPhilistinesוְאֶת־כַּפְתֹּרִים׃and the Caphtorim

    And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

15. 15

    וּכְנַעַןand Canaanיָלַדbegatאֶת־צִידֹןZidonבְּכֹרוֹhis firstbornוְאֶת־חֵת׃and Heth

    And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

16. 16

    וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִיand the Jebusiteוְאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִיand the Amoriteוְאֵתandהַגִּרְגָּשִׁי׃the Girgashite

    And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

17. 17

    וְאֶת־הַחִוִּיand the Hiviteוְאֶת־הַעַרְקִיand the Arkitesוְאֶת־הַסִּינִי׃and the Sinites

    And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

18. 18

    וְאֶת־הָאַרְוָדִיand the Arvaditesוְאֶת־הַצְּמָרִיand the Zemaritesוְאֶת־הַחֲמָתִיand the Hamathitesוְאַחַרand thenנָפֹצוּwere scatteredמִשְׁפְּחוֹתfamilies ofהַכְּנַעֲנִי׃the Canaanite

    And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

19. 19

    וַיְהִיand it came to passגְּבוּלborder ofהַכְּנַעֲנִיthe Canaaniteמִצִּידֹןfrom Zidonבֹּאֲכָהas you goגְרָרָהtoward Gerarעַד־עַזָּהas far as Gazaבֹּאֲכָהas you goסְדֹמָהtoward Sodomוַעֲמֹרָהand Gomorrahוְאַדְמָהand Admahוּצְבֹיִםand Zeboyimעַד־לָשַׁע׃until Lasha

    And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

20. 20

    אֵלֶּהtheseבְנֵי־חָםsons of Hamלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםafter their familiesלִלְשֹׁנֹתָםafter their tonguesבְּאַרְצֹתָםin their landsבְּגוֹיֵהֶם׃in their nations

    These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21. 21

    וּלְשֵׁםand to Shemיֻלַּדhe was bornגַּם־הוּאalso heאֲבִיthe father ofכׇּל־בְּנֵי־עֵבֶרall the sons of Eberאֲחִיthe brother ofיֶפֶתJaphethהַגָּדוֹל׃the great

    Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

22. 22

    בְּנֵיthe sons ofשֵׁםShemעֵילָםElamוְאַשּׁוּרand Asshurוְאַרְפַּכְשַׁדand Arphaxadוְלוּדand Ludוַאֲרָם׃and Aram

    The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

23. 23

    וּבְנֵיand sons ofאֲרָםAramעוּץUzוְחוּלand Hulוְגֶתֶרand Getherוָמַשׁ׃and Mash

    And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

24. 24

    וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁדand Arphaxadיָלַדbegatאֶת־שָׁלַחShelahוְשֶׁלַחand Shelahיָלַדbegatאֶת־עֵבֶר׃Eber

    And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

25. 25

    וּלְעֵבֶרand to Eberיֻלַּדhe was bornשְׁנֵיtwoבָנִיםsonsשֵׁםthe name ofהָאֶחָדthe oneפֶּלֶגPelegכִּיforבְיָמָיוin his daysנִפְלְגָהwas dividedהָאָרֶץthe earthוְשֵׁםand the name ofאָחִיוhis brotherיׇקְטָן׃Joktan

    And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

26. 26

    וְיׇקְטָןand Joktanיָלַדbegatאֶת־אַלְמוֹדָדAlmodadוְאֶת־שָׁלֶףand Shelephוְאֶת־חֲצַרְמָוֶתand Hazarmavethוְאֶת־יָרַח׃and Jerah

    And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

27. 27

    וְאֶת־הֲדוֹרָםand Hadoramוְאֶת־אוּזָלand Uzalוְאֶת־דִּקְלָה׃and Diklah

    And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

28. 28

    וְאֶת־עוֹבָלand Obalוְאֶת־אֲבִימָאֵלand Abimaelוְאֶת־שְׁבָא׃and Sheba

    And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

29. 29

    וְאֶת־אוֹפִרand Ophirוְאֶת־חֲוִילָהand Havilahוְאֶת־יוֹבָבand Jobabכׇּל־אֵלֶּהall theseבְּנֵיthe sons ofיׇקְטָן׃Joktan

    And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

30. 30

    וַיְהִיand it came to passמוֹשָׁבָםtheir dwelling placeמִמֵּשָׁאfrom Meshaבֹּאֲכָהas you goסְפָרָהtoward Sepharהַרmountainהַקֶּדֶם׃the east

    And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

31. 31

    אֵלֶּהtheseבְנֵי־שֵׁםthe sons of Shemלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםafter their familiesלִלְשֹׁנֹתָםafter their tonguesבְּאַרְצֹתָםin their landsלְגוֹיֵהֶם׃after their nations

    These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32. 32

    אֵלֶּהtheseמִשְׁפְּחֹתthe families ofבְּנֵי־נֹחַsons of Noahלְתוֹלְדֹתָםafter their generationsבְּגוֹיֵהֶםin their nationsוּמֵאֵלֶּהand from theseנִפְרְדוּthey separatedהַגּוֹיִםthe nationsבָּאָרֶץin the landאַחַרafterהַמַּבּוּל׃the flood

    These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
