1. 1

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledבְאׇזְנַיve/oz/NAYin my earsקוֹלkolwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingקָרְבוּka/re/VUdraw nearפְּקֻדּוֹתpe/kud/DOTyou who have charge overהָעִירha/IRthe cityוְאִישׁve/ISHeachכְּלִיke/LIwith weapon ofמַשְׁחֵתוֹmash/che/TOhis destructionבְּיָדוֹ׃be/ya/DOin his hand

   He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשִׁשָּׁהshish/SHAsixאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenבָּאִיםba/IMcameמִדֶּרֶךְ־שַׁעַרmid/DE/rekh-SHA/arfrom the way of the gateהָעֶלְיוֹןha/el/YONupperאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמׇפְנֶהmof/NEfacesצָפוֹנָהtsa/FO/nanorthwardוְאִישׁve/ISHeachכְּלִיke/LIwith weapon ofמַפָּצוֹmap/pa/TSOhis shatteringבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handוְאִישׁ־אֶחָדve/ISH-e/CHADand one manבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMamong themלָבֻשׁla/VUSHclothed inבַּדִּיםbad/DIMlinenוְקֶסֶתve/KE/setwith a writing case ofהַסֹּפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeבְּמׇתְנָיוbe/mot/NAYVat his waistוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they went inוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stoodאֵצֶלE/tselbesideמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁת׃han/ne/CHO/shetbronze

   And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

   וּכְבוֹדu/khe/VODand the glory ofאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנַעֲלָהna/a/LAhad gone upמֵעַלme/ALfromהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAwasעָלָיוa/LAYVon itאֶלeltoמִפְתַּןmif/TANthe threshold ofהַבָּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶל־הָאִישׁel-ha/ISHto the manהַלָּבֻשׁhal/la/VUSHclothed inהַבַּדִּיםhab/bad/DIMthe linenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho hadקֶסֶתKE/setthe writing case ofהַסֹּפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeבְּמׇתְנָיו׃be/mot/NAYVat his waist

   And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלָוe/LAVto himעֲבֹרa/VORgoבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHthrough the midst ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHthrough the midst ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְהִתְוִיתָve/hit/VI/taand putתָּוtava markעַל־מִצְחוֹתal-mits/CHOTon the foreheads ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהַנֶּאֱנָחִיםhan/ne/e/na/CHIMwho sighוְהַנֶּאֱנָקִיםve/han/ne/e/na/KIMand groanעַלaloverכׇּל־הַתּוֹעֵבוֹתkol-hat/to/e/VOTall the abominationsהַנַּעֲשׂוֹתhan/na/a/SOTthat are doneבְּתוֹכָהּ׃be/to/KHAin its midst

   And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

   וּלְאֵלֶּהu/le/EL/leand to theseאָמַרa/MARhe saidבְּאׇזְנַיbe/oz/NAYin my earsעִבְרוּiv/RUgo throughבָעִירva/IRthe cityאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himוְהַכּוּve/hak/KUand strike(על)l[אַל־]תָּחֹסal-ta/CHOSdo not let spare(עיניכם)yanayakham[עֵינְכֶם]e/ne/KHEMyour eyeוְאַל־תַּחְמֹלוּ׃ve/AL-tach/MO/luand have no pity

   And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

   זָקֵןza/KENold manבָּחוּרba/CHURyoung manוּבְתוּלָהu/ve/tu/LAand maidenוְטַףve/TAFand little childrenוְנָשִׁיםve/na/SHIMand womenתַּהַרְגוּta/har/GUyou shall slayלְמַשְׁחִיתle/mash/CHITto destructionוְעַל־כׇּל־אִישׁve/AL-kol-ishbut on any manאֲשֶׁר־עָלָיוa/SHER-a/LAYVon whom isהַתָּוhat/TAVthe markאַל־תִּגַּשׁוּal-tig/GA/shudo not come nearוּמִמִּקְדָּשִׁיu/mim/mik/da/SHIand from my sanctuaryתָּחֵלּוּta/CHEL/lubeginוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luso they beganבָּאֲנָשִׁיםba/a/na/SHIMwith the menהַזְּקֵנִיםhaz/ze/ke/NIMthe eldersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַבָּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

   Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themטַמְּאוּtam/me/Udefileאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseוּמַלְאוּu/mal/Uand fillאֶת־הַחֲצֵרוֹתet-ha/cha/tse/ROTthe courtsחֲלָלִיםcha/la/LIMwith the slainצֵאוּTSE/ugo outוְיָצְאוּve/ya/tse/Uand they went outוְהִכּוּve/hik/KUand they struckבָעִיר׃va/IRin the city

   And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּהַכּוֹתָםke/hak/ko/TAMwhile they were strikingוְנֵאשְׁאַרve/ne/she/ARand was leftאָנִיA/niIוָאֶפְּלָהva/ep/pe/LAand I fellעַל־פָּנַיal-pa/NAYon my faceוָאֶזְעַקva/ez/AKand I cried outוָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֲהָהּa/HAalasאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהֲמַשְׁחִיתha/mash/CHITwill destroyאַתָּהat/TAYouאֵת־כׇּל־שְׁאֵרִיתet-kol-she/e/RITall the remnant ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּשׇׁפְכְּךָbe/shof/ke/KHAwhen You pour outאֶת־חֲמָתְךָet-cha/ma/te/KHAYour furyעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃al-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimon Jerusalem

   And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵלbet-Yis/ra/ELthe house of IsraelוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahגָּדוֹלga/DOLis greatבִּמְאֹדbim/ODexceedinglyמְאֹדme/ODveryוַתִּמָּלֵאvat/tim/ma/LEand is full ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landדָּמִיםda/MIMbloodוְהָעִירve/ha/IRand the cityמָלְאָהma/le/Ais full ofמֻטֶּהmut/TEperversityכִּיkiforאָמְרוּa/me/RUthey sayעָזַבa/ZAVhas forsakenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landוְאֵיןve/ENand notיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDרֹאֶה׃ro/Esees

   Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

10. 10

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NIand as for meלֹא־תָחוֹסlo-ta/CHOSshall not spareעֵינִיe/NImy eyeוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶחְמֹלech/MOLhave pityדַּרְכָּםdar/KAMtheir wayבְּרֹאשָׁםbe/ro/SHAMon their headנָתָתִּי׃na/TAT/tiI will bring

    And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manלְבֻשׁle/VUSHclothed inהַבַּדִּיםhab/bad/DIMthe linenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho hadהַקֶּסֶתhak/KE/setthe writing caseבְּמׇתְנָיוbe/mot/NAYVat his waistמֵשִׁיבme/SHIVbrought backדָּבָרda/VARwordלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI have done(כאשר)khshar[כְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר]a/SHERthatצִוִּיתָנִי׃tsiv/vi/TA/niYou commanded me

    And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
