   And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.

   וָאֶרְאֶהva/er/Eand I sawוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdדְמוּתde/MUTa likenessכְּמַרְאֵה־אֵשׁke/mar/E-eshas the appearance of fireמִמַּרְאֵהmim/mar/Efrom the appearance ofמׇתְנָיוmot/NAYVhis loinsוּלְמַטָּהu/le/MAT/taand downwardאֵשׁeshfireוּמִמׇּתְנָיוu/mim/mot/NAYVand from his loinsוּלְמַעְלָהu/le/MA/laand upwardכְּמַרְאֵה־זֹהַרke/mar/E-ZO/haras the appearance of brightnessכְּעֵיןke/ENlike the gleam ofהַחַשְׁמַלָה׃ha/chash/MA/laelectrum

   Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.

   And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

   And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manשָׂא־נָאsa-nalift up nowעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtowardצָפוֹנָהtsa/FO/nanorthwardוָאֶשָּׂאva/es/SAso I lifted upעֵינַיe/NAYmy eyesדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtowardצָפוֹנָהtsa/FO/nanorthwardוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמִצָּפוֹןmits/tsa/FONfrom the northלְשַׁעַרle/SHA/arat the gate ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarסֵמֶלSE/melthe image ofהַקִּנְאָהhak/kin/Ajealousyהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבַּבִּאָה׃bab/bi/Aat the entrance

   Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manהֲרֹאֶהha/ro/Edo seeאַתָּהat/TAyou(מהם)maham[מָהmawhatהֵם]hemtheyעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingתּוֹעֵבוֹתto/e/VOTabominationsגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבֵּיתbetthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingפֹּהpohereלְרׇחֳקָהle/ro/cho/KAto drive me farמֵעַלme/ALfromמִקְדָּשִׁיmik/da/SHImy sanctuaryוְעוֹדve/ODbut yetתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVagainתִּרְאֶהtir/Eyou shall seeתּוֹעֵבוֹתto/e/VOTabominationsגְּדֹלוֹת׃ge/do/LOTgreat

   He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

   וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand he broughtאֹתִיo/TImeאֶל־פֶּתַחel-PE/tachto the entrance ofהֶחָצֵרhe/cha/TSERthe courtוָאֶרְאֶהva/er/Eand I sawוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdחֹר־אֶחָדchor-e/CHADa holeבַּקִּיר׃bak/KIRin the wall

   And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manחֲתׇר־נָאcha/TOR-nadig nowבַקִּירvak/KIRin the wallוָאֶחְתֹּרva/ech/TORand I dugבַּקִּירbak/KIRin the wallוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdפֶּתַחPE/tacha doorאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיe/LAYto meבֹּאbocomeוּרְאֵהu/re/Eand seeאֶת־הַתּוֹעֵבוֹתet-hat/to/e/VOTthe abominationsהָרָעוֹתha/ra/OTthe wickedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingפֹּה׃pohere

   And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

    וָאָבוֹאva/a/VOso I went inוָאֶרְאֶהva/er/Eand I sawוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכׇל־תַּבְנִיתkhol-tav/NITevery form ofרֶמֶשׂRE/mescreeping thingוּבְהֵמָהu/ve/he/MAand beastשֶׁקֶץSHE/ketsdetestableוְכׇל־גִּלּוּלֵיve/KHOL-gil/lu/LEand all the idols ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמְחֻקֶּהme/chuk/KEportrayedעַל־הַקִּירal-hak/KIRon the wallסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundסָבִיב׃sa/VIVall around

    So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

    וְשִׁבְעִיםve/shiv/IMand seventyאִישׁishmenמִזִּקְנֵיmiz/zik/NEof the elders ofבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵלvet-Yis/ra/ELthe house of Israelוְיַאֲזַנְיָהוּve/Ya/a/zan/YA/huand Jaazaniahבֶן־שָׁפָןven-Sha/FANthe son of Shaphanעֹמֵדo/MEDstandingבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMamong themעֹמְדִיםom/DIMwere standingלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themוְאִישׁve/ISHand eachמִקְטַרְתּוֹmik/tar/TOhis censerבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handוַעֲתַרva/a/TARand the thickness ofעֲנַן־הַקְּטֹרֶתa/NAN-hak/ke/TO/retthe cloud of incenseעֹלֶה׃o/LEwent up

    And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהֲרָאִיתָha/ra/I/tahave you seenבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatזִקְנֵיzik/NEthe elders ofבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵלvet-Yis/ra/ELthe house of Israelעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin the darknessאִישׁisheachבְּחַדְרֵיbe/chad/REin the chambers ofמַשְׂכִּיתוֹmas/ki/TOhis imageryכִּיkiforאֹמְרִיםom/RIMthey sayאֵיןennotיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDרֹאֶהro/Eseesאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusעָזַבa/ZAVhas forsakenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃et-ha/A/retsthe land

    Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיe/LAYto meעוֹדodyetתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVagainתִּרְאֶהtir/Eyou shall seeתּוֹעֵבוֹתto/e/VOTabominationsגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatאֲשֶׁר־הֵמָּהa/SHER-HEM/mathat theyעֹשִׂים׃o/SIMare doing

    He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.

14. 14

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand he broughtאֹתִיo/TImeאֶל־פֶּתַחel-PE/tachto the entrance ofשַׁעַרSHA/arthe gate ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶל־הַצָּפוֹנָהel-hats/tsa/FO/natoward the northוְהִנֵּה־שָׁםve/hin/NE-shamand behold thereהַנָּשִׁיםhan/na/SHIMthe womenיֹשְׁבוֹתyosh/VOTwere sittingמְבַכּוֹתme/vak/KOTweeping forאֶת־הַתַּמּוּז׃et-Hat/tam/MUZTammuz

    Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהֲרָאִיתָha/ra/I/tahave you seenבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manעוֹדodyetתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVagainתִּרְאֶהtir/Eyou shall seeתּוֹעֵבוֹתto/e/VOTabominationsגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatמֵאֵלֶּה׃me/EL/lethan these

    Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.

16. 16

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand he broughtאֹתִיo/TImeאֶל־חֲצַרel-cha/TSARinto the court ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDהַפְּנִימִיתhap/pe/ni/MITthe innerוְהִנֵּה־פֶתַחve/hin/NE-FE/tachand behold at the entrance ofהֵיכַלhe/KHALthe temple ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבֵּיןbenbetweenהָאוּלָםha/u/LAMthe porchוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarכְּעֶשְׂרִיםke/es/RIMabout twentyוַחֲמִשָּׁהva/cha/mish/SHAand fiveאִישׁishmenאֲחֹרֵיהֶםa/cho/re/HEMtheir backsאֶל־הֵיכַלel-he/KHALtoward the temple ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּפְנֵיהֶםu/fe/ne/HEMand their facesקֵדְמָהKED/maeastwardוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyמִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםmish/ta/cha/vi/TEMwere worshipingקֵדְמָהKED/maeastwardלַשָּׁמֶשׁ׃lash/SHA/meshthe sun

    And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהֲרָאִיתָha/ra/I/tahave you seenבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manהֲנָקֵלha/na/KELis it a light thingלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahמֵעֲשׂוֹתme/a/SOTto commitאֶת־הַתּוֹעֵבוֹתet-hat/to/e/VOTthe abominationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשׂוּ־פֹהa/SU-fothey commit hereכִּי־מָלְאוּki-ma/le/Ufor they have filledאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landחָמָסcha/MASwith violenceוַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand have turned againלְהַכְעִיסֵנִיle/hakh/i/SE/nito provoke meוְהִנָּםve/hin/NAMand behold theyשֹׁלְחִיםshol/CHIMputאֶת־הַזְּמוֹרָהet-haz/ze/mo/RAthe branchאֶל־אַפָּם׃el-ap/PAMto their nose

    Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

18. 18

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NItherefore I alsoאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI will dealבְחֵמָהve/che/MAin furyלֹא־תָחוֹסlo-ta/CHOSshall not spareעֵינִיe/NImy eyeוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶחְמֹלech/MOLhave pityוְקָרְאוּve/ka/re/Uand though they cryבְאׇזְנַיve/oz/NAYin my earsקוֹלkolwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוְלֹאve/LOyet notאֶשְׁמַעesh/MAwill I hearאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
