   And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manאֱמֹרe/MORsayאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִםME/lekh-Mits/RA/yimthe king of Egyptוְאֶל־הֲמוֹנוֹve/EL-ha/mo/NOand to his multitudeאֶל־מִיel-miwhomדָּמִיתָda/MI/taare you likeבְגׇדְלֶךָ׃ve/god/le/KHAin your greatness

   Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaאֶרֶזE/rezwas a cedarבַּלְּבָנוֹןbal/Le/va/NONin Lebanonיְפֵהye/FEfair ofעָנָףa/NAFbranchesוְחֹרֶשׁve/CHO/reshand with a forestמֵצַלme/TSALshadeוּגְבַהּu/ge/VAand high ofקוֹמָהko/MAstatureוּבֵיןu/VENand amongעֲבֹתִיםa/vo/TIMthe thick boughsהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasצַמַּרְתּוֹ׃tsam/mar/TOits top

   Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

   מַיִםMA/yimthe watersגִּדְּלוּהוּgid/de/LU/humade it greatתְּהוֹםte/HOMthe deepרֹמְמָתְהוּrom/MAT/huset it on highאֶת־נַהֲרֹתֶיהָet-na/ha/ro/TE/hawith its riversהֹלֵךְho/LEKHrunningסְבִיבוֹתse/vi/VOTaroundמַטָּעָהּmat/ta/Aits plantsוְאֶת־תְּעָלֹתֶיהָve/ET-te/a/lo/TE/haand its channelsשִׁלְחָהshil/CHAit sent outאֶלeltoכׇּל־עֲצֵיkol-a/TSEall the trees ofהַשָּׂדֶה׃has/sa/DEthe field

   The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeגָּבְהָאga/ve/HAwas exaltedקֹמָתוֹko/ma/TOits heightמִכֹּלmik/KOLabove allעֲצֵיa/TSEthe trees ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldוַתִּרְבֶּינָהvat/tir/BE/naand were multipliedסַרְעַפֹּתָיוsar/ap/po/TAYVits boughsוַתֶּאֱרַכְנָהvat/te/e/RAKH/naand became longפֹארֹתָוfo/ro/TAVits branchesמִמַּיִםmim/MA/yimbecause of the watersרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבְּשַׁלְּחוֹ׃be/shal/le/CHOwhen it shot forth

   Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

   All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

   וַיְּיִףvay/ye/YIFthus it was fairבְּגׇדְלוֹbe/god/LOin its greatnessבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhin the length ofדָּלִיּוֹתָיוda/liy/yo/TAYVits branchesכִּי־הָיָהki-ha/YAfor wasשׇׁרְשׁוֹshor/SHOits rootאֶל־מַיִםel-MA/yimby watersרַבִּים׃rab/BIMgreat

   Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

   אֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsלֹא־עֲמָמֻהוּlo-a/ma/mu/HUcould not hide itבְּגַן־אֱלֹהִיםbe/GAN-e/lo/HIMin the garden of Godבְּרוֹשִׁיםbe/ro/SHIMcypressesלֹאlonotדָמוּda/MUwere likeאֶל־סְעַפֹּתָיוel-se/ap/po/TAYVits boughsוְעַרְמֹנִיםve/ar/mo/NIMand plane treesלֹא־הָיוּlo-ha/YUwere notכְּפֹרֹאתָיוke/fo/ro/TAYVlike its branchesכׇּל־עֵץkol-etsnor any treeבְּגַן־אֱלֹהִיםbe/GAN-e/lo/HIMin the garden of Godלֹא־דָמָהlo-da/MAwas likeאֵלָיוe/LAYVitבְּיׇפְיוֹ׃be/yof/YOin its beauty

   The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

   יָפֶהya/FEfairעֲשִׂיתִיוa/si/TIVI made itבְּרֹבbe/ROVby the multitude ofדָּלִיּוֹתָיוda/liy/yo/TAYVits branchesוַיְקַנְאֻהוּvay/kan/U/huand they envied itכׇּל־עֲצֵי־עֵדֶןkol-A/TSE-E/denall the trees of Edenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereבְּגַןbe/GANin the garden ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatגָּבַהְתָּga/VAH/tayou are exaltedבְּקוֹמָהbe/ko/MAin statureוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand it has setצַמַּרְתּוֹtsam/mar/TOits treetopאֶל־בֵּיןel-benamongעֲבוֹתִיםa/vo/TIMthe thick boughsוְרָםve/RAMand is lifted upלְבָבוֹle/va/VOhis heartבְּגׇבְהוֹ׃be/gov/HOin his height

    Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

    וְאֶתְּנֵהוּve/et/te/NE/huI will deliver itבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofאֵילelthe mighty one ofגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsעָשׂוֹa/SOdealיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe shall dealלוֹlowith itכְּרִשְׁעוֹke/rish/Oaccording to its wickednessגֵּרַשְׁתִּהוּ׃ge/rash/TI/huI have driven it out

    I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

    וַיִּכְרְתֻהוּvay/yikh/re/TU/huand have cut it downזָרִיםza/RIMstrangersעָרִיצֵיa/ri/TSEthe terrible ofגוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsוַיִּטְּשֻׁהוּvay/yit/te/SHU/huand have left itאֶל־הֶהָרִיםel-he/ha/RIMon the mountainsוּבְכׇל־גֵּאָיוֹתu/ve/KHOL-ge/a/YOTand in all the valleysנָפְלוּna/fe/LUhave fallenדָלִיּוֹתָיוda/liy/yo/TAYVits branchesוַתִּשָּׁבַרְנָהvat/tish/sha/VAR/naand are brokenפֹרֹאתָיוfo/ro/TAYVits boughsבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin allאֲפִיקֵיa/fi/KEthe channels ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand have gone downמִצִּלּוֹmits/tsil/LOfrom its shadeכׇּל־עַמֵּיkol-am/MEall the peoples ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוַיִּטְּשֻׁהוּ׃vay/yit/te/SHU/huand have left it

    And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

    עַל־מַפַּלְתּוֹal-map/pal/TOon its ruinיִשְׁכְּנוּyish/ke/NUshall dwellכׇּל־עוֹףkol-ofall the birds ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְאֶל־פֹּרֹאתָיוve/EL-po/ro/TAYVand on its boughsהָיוּha/YUshall beכֹּלkolallחַיַּתchay/YATthe beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶה׃has/sa/DEthe field

    Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anto the endאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יִגְבְּהוּlo-yig/be/HUmay not exalt themselvesבְקוֹמָתָםve/ko/ma/TAMin their heightכׇּל־עֲצֵי־מַיִםkol-a/TSE-MA/yimall the trees by the watersוְלֹא־יִתְּנוּve/LO-yit/te/NUnor setאֶת־צַמַּרְתָּםet-tsam/mar/TAMtheir treetopאֶל־בֵּיןel-bento amongעֲבֹתִיםa/vo/TIMthe thick boughsוְלֹא־יַעַמְדוּve/LO-ya/am/DUnor standאֵלֵיהֶםe/le/HEMtheir mighty onesבְּגׇבְהָםbe/gov/HAMin their heightכׇּל־שֹׁתֵיkol-SHO/teall who drinkמָיִםMA/yimwaterכִּי־כֻלָּםki-khul/LAMbecause all of themנִתְּנוּnit/te/NUare deliveredלַמָּוֶתlam/MA/vetto deathאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landתַּחְתִּיתtach/TITbeneathבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmanאֶל־יוֹרְדֵיel-YOR/dewith those who go down toבוֹר׃vorthe pit

    To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

    כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofרִדְתּוֹrid/TOwhen it went downשְׁאוֹלָהShe/O/lato Sheolהֶאֱבַלְתִּיhe/e/VAL/tiI caused a mourningכִּסֵּתִיkis/SE/tiI coveredעָלָיוa/LAYVfor itאֶת־תְּהוֹםet-te/HOMthe deepוָאֶמְנַעva/em/NAand I restrainedנַהֲרוֹתֶיהָna/ha/ro/TE/haits riversוַיִּכָּלְאוּvay/yik/ka/le/Uand were stayedמַיִםMA/yimwaterרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוָאַקְדִּרva/ak/DIRand I caused to mournעָלָיוa/LAYVfor itלְבָנוֹןLe/va/NONLebanonוְכׇל־עֲצֵיve/KHOL-a/TSEand all the trees ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldעָלָיוa/LAYVfor itעֻלְפֶּה׃ul/PEfainted

    Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

    מִקּוֹלmik/KOLat the sound ofמַפַּלְתּוֹmap/pal/TOits fallהִרְעַשְׁתִּיhir/ASH/tiI made shakeגוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsבְּהוֹרִדִיbe/ho/ri/DIwhen I cast downאֹתוֹo/TOhimשְׁאוֹלָהShe/O/lato Sheolאֶת־יוֹרְדֵיet-YOR/dewith those who go down toבוֹרvorthe pitוַיִּנָּחֲמוּvay/yin/na/cha/MUand were comfortedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofתַּחְתִּיתtach/TITbeneathכׇּל־עֲצֵי־עֵדֶןkol-A/TSE-E/denall the trees of Edenמִבְחַרmiv/CHARthe choiceוְטוֹב־לְבָנוֹןve/TOV-le/va/NONand best of Lebanonכׇּל־שֹׁתֵיkol-SHO/teall who drinkמָיִם׃MA/yimwater

    I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

    גַּם־הֵםgam-hemalso theyאִתּוֹit/TOwith himיָרְדוּya/re/DUwent downשְׁאוֹלָהShe/O/lato Sheolאֶל־חַלְלֵי־חָרֶבel-chal/LE-CHA/revto those slain by the swordוּזְרֹעוֹu/ze/ro/Oand those who were his armיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUwho dweltבְצִלּוֹve/tsil/LOin its shadeבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofגּוֹיִם׃go/YIMnations

    They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

    אֶל־מִיel-mito whomדָמִיתָda/MI/taare you likeכָּכָהKA/khathusבְּכָבוֹדbe/kha/VODin gloryוּבְגֹדֶלu/ve/GO/deland in greatnessבַּעֲצֵי־עֵדֶןba/A/TSE-E/denamong the trees of Edenוְהוּרַדְתָּve/hu/rad/TAyet you shall be brought downאֶת־עֲצֵי־עֵדֶןet-A/TSE-E/denwith the trees of Edenאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofתַּחְתִּיתtach/TITbeneathבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofעֲרֵלִיםa/re/LIMthe uncircumcisedתִּשְׁכַּבtish/KAVyou shall lieאֶת־חַלְלֵי־חֶרֶבet-chal/LE-CHE/revwith those slain by the swordהוּאhuthis isפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוְכׇל־הֲמוֹנֹהve/KHOL-ha/mo/NOand all his multitudeנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
