   וַיְהִיand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹר׃saying

   The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

2. 2

   וְאַתָּהand youבֶן־אָדָםson of manשָׂאlift upעַל־צֹרupon Tyreקִינָה׃a lamentation

   Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

3. 3

   וְאָמַרְתָּand sayלְצוֹרto Tyre[הַיֹּשֶׁבֶת]the one who satעַל־מְבוֹאֹתupon the entrances ofיָםthe seaרֹכֶלֶתthe traderהָעַמִּיםthe peopleאֶל־אִיִּיםto the islesרַבִּיםmanyכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidאֲדֹנָיLordיֱהֹוִהGODצוֹרTyreאַתְּyouאָמַרְתְּyou saidאֲנִיIכְּלִילַתperfect ofיֹפִי׃beauty

   And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

   בְּלֵבwith heartיַמִּיםseasגְּבוּלָיִךְyour territoriesבֹּנַיִךְyour buildersכָּלְלוּthey perfectedיׇפְיֵךְ׃your beauty

   Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

5. 5

   בְּרוֹשִׁיםcypressesמִשְּׂנִירfrom Senirבָּנוּthey builtלָךְto youאֵת־כׇּל־לֻחֹתָיִםall your planksאֶרֶזcedarמִלְּבָנוֹןfrom Lebanonלָקָחוּthey tookלַעֲשׂוֹתto doתֹּרֶןa mastעָלָיִךְ׃on you

   They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

   אַלּוֹנִיםoaksמִבָּשָׁןfrom Bashanעָשׂוּthey didמִשּׁוֹטָיִךְyour oarsקַרְשֵׁךְyour boardsעָשׂוּ־שֵׁןthey made of ivoryבַּת־אֲשֻׁרִיםof box treeמֵאִיֵּיfrom the isles ofכִּתִּיִּם׃Chittim

   Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

   שֵׁשׁ־בְּרִקְמָהfine linen with embroidered workמִמִּצְרַיִםout of Egyptהָיָהwasמִפְרָשֵׂךְyour sailלִהְיוֹתto beלָךְto youלְנֵסa standardתְּכֵלֶתviolet stuffוְאַרְגָּמָןand purpleמֵאִיֵּיfrom the isles ofאֱלִישָׁהElishaהָיָהwasמְכַסֵּךְ׃your covering

   Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

   יֹשְׁבֵיinhabitants ofצִידוֹןZidonוְאַרְוַדand Arvadהָיוּwereשָׁטִיםrowersלָךְto youחֲכָמַיִךְyour skillful peopleצוֹרTyreהָיוּwereבָךְyouהֵמָּהtheyחֹבְלָיִךְ׃your sailors

   The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.

9. 9

   זִקְנֵיthe elders ofגְבַלGebalוַחֲכָמֶיהָand its wise peopleהָיוּwereבָךְyouמַחֲזִיקֵיthe repairers ofבִּדְקֵךְyour leaksכׇּל־אֳנִיּוֹתall the ships ofהַיָּםthe seaוּמַלָּחֵיהֶםand their marinersהָיוּwereבָךְyouלַעֲרֹבto exchangeמַעֲרָבֵךְ׃your merchandise

   The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

    פָּרַסPersiaוְלוּדand Ludוּפוּטand Putהָיוּwereבְחֵילֵךְin your armyאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofמִלְחַמְתֵּךְyour warמָגֵןthe shieldוְכוֹבַעand a helmet ofתִּלּוּ־בָךְthey hung up youהֵמָּהtheyנָתְנוּthey gaveהֲדָרֵךְ׃your splendor

    They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

11. 11

    בְּנֵיthe sons ofאַרְוַדArvadוְחֵילֵךְand your armyעַל־חוֹמוֹתַיִךְupon your wallsסָבִיבall aroundוְגַמָּדִיםand the Gammaditesבְּמִגְדְּלוֹתַיִךְin your towersהָיוּwereשִׁלְטֵיהֶםtheir shieldsתִּלּוּthey hung upעַל־חוֹמוֹתַיִךְupon your wallsסָבִיבall aroundהֵמָּהtheyכָּלְלוּthey perfectedיׇפְיֵךְ׃your beauty

    The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

12. 12

    תַּרְשִׁישׁTarshishסֹחַרְתֵּךְyour traderמֵרֹבfrom the multitude ofכׇּל־הוֹןall wealthבְּכֶסֶףin moneyבַּרְזֶלironבְּדִילtinוְעוֹפֶרֶתand leadנָתְנוּthey gaveעִזְבוֹנָיִךְ׃your wares

    Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

13. 13

    יָוָןJavanתֻּבַלTubalוָמֶשֶׁךְand Meshechהֵמָּהtheyרֹכְלָיִךְyour tradersבְּנֶפֶשׁthe persons ofאָדָםmanוּכְלֵיand vessels ofנְחֹשֶׁתbrassנָתְנוּthey gaveמַעֲרָבֵךְ׃your merchandise

    Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

14. 14

    מִבֵּיתfrom the house ofתּוֹגַרְמָהTogarmahסוּסִיםhorsesוּפָרָשִׁיםand horsemenוּפְרָדִיםand mulesנָתְנוּthey gaveעִזְבוֹנָיִךְ׃your wares

    They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

15. 15

    בְּנֵיthe sons ofדְדָןDedanרֹכְלַיִךְyour tradersאִיִּיםislandsרַבִּיםmanyסְחֹרַתthe merchandise ofיָדֵךְyour handקַרְנוֹתthe horns ofשֵׁןivory[וְהׇבְנִים]and ebonyהֵשִׁיבוּthey broughtאֶשְׁכָּרֵךְ׃your tribute

    The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

16. 16

    אֲרָםSyriaסֹחַרְתֵּךְyour traderמֵרֹבfrom the multitude ofמַעֲשָׂיִךְyour productsבְּנֹפֶךְfor turquoiseאַרְגָּמָןpurpleוְרִקְמָהand variegated colorוּבוּץand fine linenוְרָאמֹתand coralsוְכַדְכֹּדand rubyנָתְנוּthey gaveבְּעִזְבוֹנָיִךְ׃for your wares

    Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

    יְהוּדָהJudahוְאֶרֶץand land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelהֵמָּהtheyרֹכְלָיִךְyour tradersבְּחִטֵּיfor the wheat ofמִנִּיתMinnithוּפַנַּגand cakeוּדְבַשׁand honeyוָשֶׁמֶןand oilוָצֹרִיand balmנָתְנוּthey gaveמַעֲרָבֵךְ׃your merchandise

    Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

18. 18

    דַּמֶּשֶׂקDamascusסֹחַרְתֵּךְyour traderבְּרֹבmuchמַעֲשַׂיִךְyour deedsמֵרֹבfrom the multitude ofכׇּל־הוֹןall wealthבְּיֵיןfor the wine ofחֶלְבּוֹןHelbonוְצֶמֶרand wool ofצָחַר׃white

    Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

19. 19

    וְדָןand Danוְיָוָןand Javanמְאוּזָּלyarnבְּעִזְבוֹנַיִךְfor your waresנָתָנּוּthey gaveבַּרְזֶלironעָשׁוֹתbrightקִדָּהcassiaוְקָנֶהand the caneבְּמַעֲרָבֵךְfor your merchandiseהָיָה׃was

    Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

20. 20

    דְּדָןDedanרֹכַלְתֵּךְyour traderבְּבִגְדֵי־חֹפֶשׁin precious garmentsלְרִכְבָּהֿ׃for riding

    Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

21. 21

    עֲרַבArabiaוְכׇל־נְשִׂיאֵיand all the princes ofקֵדָרKedarהֵמָּהtheyסֹחֲרֵיthe traders ofיָדֵךְyour handבְּכָרִיםin lambsוְאֵילִםand ramsוְעַתּוּדִיםand he goatsבָּםin themסֹחֲרָיִךְ׃your traders

    Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

22. 22

    רֹכְלֵיthe traders ofשְׁבָאShebaוְרַעְמָהand Ramahהֵמָּהtheyרֹכְלָיִךְyour tradersבְּרֹאשׁwith the chief ofכׇּל־בֹּשֶׂםall sweet fragranceוּבְכׇל־אֶבֶןand in all stoneיְקָרָהpreciousוְזָהָבand goldנָתְנוּthey gaveעִזְבוֹנָיִךְ׃your wares

    The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

23. 23

    חָרָןHaranוְכַנֵּהand the Cannehוָעֶדֶןand Edenרֹכְלֵיthe traders ofשְׁבָאShebaאַשּׁוּרAssyriaכִּלְמַדChilmadרֹכַלְתֵּךְ׃your trader

    Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

24. 24

    הֵמָּהtheyרֹכְלַיִךְyour tradersבְּמַכְלֻלִיםfor beautiful garmentsבִּגְלוֹמֵיfor garments ofתְּכֵלֶתviolet stuffוְרִקְמָהand variegated colorוּבְגִנְזֵיand for blankets ofבְּרֹמִיםvariegated clothבַּחֲבָלִיםwith cordsחֲבֻשִׁיםboundוַאֲרֻזִיםand made firmבְּמַרְכֻלְתֵּךְ׃in your market place

    These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

25. 25

    אֳנִיּוֹתthe ships ofתַּרְשִׁישׁTarshishשָׁרוֹתַיִךְyour caravansמַעֲרָבֵךְyour merchandiseוַתִּמָּלְאִיand you were filledוַתִּכְבְּדִיand you were honoredמְאֹדexceedinglyבְּלֵבwith heartיַמִּים׃seas

    The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

26. 26

    בְּמַיִםin the watersרַבִּיםmanyהֱבִאוּךְhave brought youהַשָּׁטִיםthe rowersאֹתָךְyouרוּחַthe wind ofהַקָּדִיםthe eastשְׁבָרֵךְit broke youבְּלֵבwith heartיַמִּים׃seas

    Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

27. 27

    הוֹנֵךְyour wealthוְעִזְבוֹנַיִךְand your waresמַעֲרָבֵךְyour merchandiseמַלָּחַיִךְyour marinersוְחֹבְלָיִךְand your sailorsמַחֲזִיקֵיthe repairers ofבִדְקֵךְyour leaksוְעֹרְבֵיand the traders ofמַעֲרָבֵךְyour merchandiseוְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁיand all the men ofמִלְחַמְתֵּךְyour warאֲשֶׁר־בָּךְwhich in youוּבְכׇל־קְהָלֵךְand in all your companyאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּתוֹכֵךְin the midst of youיִפְּלוּshall fallבְּלֵבwith heartיַמִּיםseasבְּיוֹםin the day ofמַפַּלְתֵּךְ׃your downfall

    Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

28. 28

    לְקוֹלthe voice ofזַעֲקַתthe cry ofחֹבְלָיִךְyour sailorsיִרְעֲשׁוּshall quakeמִגְרֹשׁוֹת׃the neighboring districts

    The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

29. 29

    וְיָרְדוּand they came downמֵאֳנִיּוֹתֵיהֶםfrom their shipsכֹּלallתֹּפְשֵׂיthat handleמָשׁוֹטan oarמַלָּחִיםmarinersכֹּלallחֹבְלֵיthe sailors ofהַיָּםthe seaאֶל־הָאָרֶץunto the landיַעֲמֹדוּ׃they stand

    And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

30. 30

    וְהִשְׁמִיעוּand they will make heardעָלַיִךְupon youבְּקוֹלָםin their voicesוְיִזְעֲקוּand cryמָרָהbitterוְיַעֲלוּand shall cast upעָפָרdustעַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶםupon the heads of themבָּאֵפֶרin ashesיִתְפַּלָּשׁוּ׃they will roll

    And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

31. 31

    וְהִקְרִיחוּand they will make baldאֵלַיִךְfor youקׇרְחָהbaldnessוְחָגְרוּand they will gird themselvesשַׂקִּיםsacksוּבָכוּand they will weepאֵלַיִךְfor youבְּמַר־נֶפֶשׁin the bitterness of soulמִסְפֵּדa lamentמָר׃bitter

    And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

32. 32

    וְנָשְׂאוּand they will bearאֵלַיִךְfor youבְּנִיהֶםin their wailingקִינָהa lamentationוְקוֹנְנוּand they will lamentעָלָיִךְon youמִיwhoכְצוֹרis like Tyreכְּדֻמָהlike one silencedבְּתוֹךְin the midst ofהַיָּם׃the sea

    And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

33. 33

    בְּצֵאתat going forth ofעִזְבוֹנַיִךְyour waresמִיַּמִּיםfrom the seasהִשְׂבַּעַתְּyou satisfiedעַמִּיםpeoplesרַבִּיםmanyבְּרֹבmuchהוֹנַיִךְyour wealthוּמַעֲרָבַיִךְand your merchandiseהֶעֱשַׁרְתְּyou made richמַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ׃the kings of the earth

    When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

34. 34

    עֵתnowנִשְׁבֶּרֶתbeing brokenמִיַּמִּיםfrom the seasבְּמַעֲמַקֵּי־מָיִםin the depths of waterמַעֲרָבֵךְyour merchandiseוְכׇל־קְהָלֵךְand all your companyבְּתוֹכֵךְin the midst of youנָפָלוּ׃are fallen down

    In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

35. 35

    כֹּלallיֹשְׁבֵיinhabitants ofהָאִיִּיםthe islandsשָׁמְמוּare appalledעָלָיִךְon youוּמַלְכֵיהֶםand their kingsשָׂעֲרוּthey have shudderedשַׂעַרwith horrorרָעֲמוּthey have been disconcertedפָּנִים׃their faces

    All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

36. 36

    סֹחֲרִיםtradersבָּעַמִּיםamong the peoplesשָׁרְקוּthey have hissedעָלָיִךְon youבַּלָּהוֹתthe sudden terrorהָיִיתyou wereוְאֵינֵךְand there not will be youעַד־עוֹלָם׃forever

    The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.
