   Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of man(כתוב)khatavav[כְּתׇב־]לְךָke/TOV-le/KHAwrite for yourselfאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe name ofהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayאֶת־עֶצֶםet-E/tsemthe veryהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisסָמַךְsa/MAKHhas besiegedמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELthe king of Babylonאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםel-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemבְּעֶצֶםbe/E/tsemon the veryהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.

   וּמְשֹׁלu/me/SHOLand speakאֶל־בֵּית־הַמֶּרִיel-bet-ham/ME/rito the rebellious houseמָשָׁלma/SHALa parableוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODשְׁפֹתshe/FOTset onהַסִּירhas/SIRthe potשְׁפֹתshe/FOTset it onוְגַם־יְצֹקve/GAM-ye/TSOKand also pourבּוֹboin itמָיִם׃MA/yimwater

   And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

   אֱסֹףe/SOFgatherנְתָחֶיהָne/ta/CHE/haits piecesאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hainto itכׇּל־נֵתַחkol-NE/tachevery pieceטוֹבtovgoodיָרֵךְya/REKHthe thighוְכָתֵףve/kha/TEFand the shoulderמִבְחַרmiv/CHARwith the choiceעֲצָמִיםa/tsa/MIMbonesמַלֵּא׃mal/LEfill it

   Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

   מִבְחַרmiv/CHARthe choice ofהַצֹּאןhats/TSONthe flockלָקוֹחַla/KO/achtakeוְגַםve/GAMand alsoדּוּרdurpileהָעֲצָמִיםha/a/tsa/MIMthe bonesתַּחְתֶּיהָtach/TE/haunder itרַתַּחrat/TACHmake boilרְתָחֶיהָre/ta/CHE/haits boilingגַּם־בָּשְׁלוּgam-ba/she/LUlet also seetheעֲצָמֶיהָa/tsa/ME/haits bonesבְּתוֹכָהּ׃be/to/KHAin its midst

   Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאוֹיoywoe toעִירirthe city ofהַדָּמִיםhad/da/MIMbloodסִירsirto the potאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseחֶלְאָתָהֿchel/a/TArustבָהּvais in itוְחֶלְאָתָהּve/chel/a/TAand whose rustלֹאlonotיָצְאָהya/tse/Ahas gone outמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nafrom itלִנְתָחֶיהָlin/ta/CHE/hapiece byלִנְתָחֶיהָlin/ta/CHE/hapieceהוֹצִיאָהּho/tsi/Abring it outלֹא־נָפַלlo-na/FALhas not fallenעָלֶיהָa/LE/haon itגּוֹרָל׃go/RALa lot

   Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

   כִּיkiforדָמָהּda/MAher bloodבְּתוֹכָהּbe/to/KHAin her midstהָיָהha/YAisעַל־צְחִיחַal-tse/CHI/achon the bareסֶלַעSE/larockשָׂמָתְהוּsa/MAT/hushe set itלֹאlonotשְׁפָכַתְהוּshe/fa/KHAT/hushe poured itעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the groundלְכַסּוֹתle/khas/SOTto coverעָלָיוa/LAYVitעָפָר׃a/FARdust

   For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

   לְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTthat it might cause to come upחֵמָהche/MAfuryלִנְקֹםlin/KOMto takeנָקָםna/KAMvengeanceנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI have setאֶת־דָּמָהּet-da/MAher bloodעַל־צְחִיחַal-tse/CHI/achon the bareסָלַעSA/larockלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהִכָּסוֹת׃hik/ka/SOTit should be covered

   That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.

9. 9

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאוֹיoywoe toעִירirthe city ofהַדָּמִיםhad/da/MIMbloodגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoאַגְדִּילag/DILwill make greatהַמְּדוּרָה׃ham/me/du/RAthe pile

   Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

10. 10

    הַרְבֵּהhar/BEheap onהָעֵצִיםha/e/TSIMthe woodהַדְלֵקhad/LEKkindleהָאֵשׁha/ESHthe fireהָתֵםha/TEMconsumeהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshוְהַרְקַחve/har/KACHand spiceהַמֶּרְקָחָהham/mer/ka/CHAthe mixtureוְהָעֲצָמוֹתve/ha/a/tsa/MOTand the bonesיֵחָרוּ׃ye/CHA/rulet be burned

    Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

11. 11

    וְהַעֲמִידֶהָve/ha/a/mi/DE/hathen set itעַל־גֶּחָלֶיהָal-ge/cha/LE/haon its coalsרֵקָהre/KAemptyלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתֵּחַםte/CHAMit may be hotוְחָרָהve/cha/RAand may burnנְחֻשְׁתָּהּne/chush/TAits bronzeוְנִתְּכָהve/nit/te/KHAand may be meltedבְתוֹכָהּve/to/KHAin itטֻמְאָתָהּtum/a/TAits filthinessתִּתֻּםtit/TUMmay be consumedחֶלְאָתָהּ׃chel/a/TAits rust

    Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

    תְּאֻנִיםte/u/NIMwith toilהֶלְאָתhel/ATshe has wearied herselfוְלֹא־תֵצֵאve/LO-te/TSEyet has not gone outמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nafrom itרַבַּתrab/BATher greatחֶלְאָתָהּchel/a/TArustבְּאֵשׁbe/ESHinto the fireחֶלְאָתָהּ׃chel/a/TAher rust

    She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.

13. 13

    בְּטֻמְאָתֵךְbe/tum/a/TEKHin your uncleannessזִמָּהzim/MAis lewdnessיַעַןYA/anbecauseטִהַרְתִּיךְti/har/TIKHI have cleansed youוְלֹאve/LOand notטָהַרְתְּta/HARTyou were cleansedמִטֻּמְאָתֵךְmit/tum/a/TEKHfrom your uncleannessלֹאlonotתִטְהֲרִי־עוֹדtit/ha/RI-odyou shall be cleansed againעַד־הֲנִיחִיad-ha/ni/CHIuntil I have caused to restאֶת־חֲמָתִיet-cha/ma/TImy furyבָּךְ׃bakhon you

    In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

    אֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have spokenבָּאָהba/Ait shall comeוְעָשִׂיתִיve/a/SI/tiand I will do itלֹא־אֶפְרַעlo-ef/RAI will not go backוְלֹא־אָחוּסve/LO-a/CHUSnor will I spareוְלֹאve/LOnorאֶנָּחֵםen/na/CHEMwill I relentכִּדְרָכַיִךְkid/ra/KHA/yikhaccording to your waysוְכַעֲלִילוֹתַיִךְve/kha/a/li/lo/TA/yikhand according to your doingsשְׁפָטוּךְshe/fa/TUKHshall they judge youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

15. 15

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

16. 16

    בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iלֹקֵחַlo/KE/achwill take awayמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youאֶת־מַחְמַדet-mach/MADthe desire ofעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesבְּמַגֵּפָהbe/mag/ge/FAwith a strokeוְלֹאve/LOand notתִסְפֹּדtis/PODshall you mournוְלֹאve/LOnorתִבְכֶּהtiv/KEweepוְלוֹאve/LOnorתָבוֹאta/VOshall run downדִּמְעָתֶךָ׃dim/a/TE/khayour tears

    Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

17. 17

    הֵאָנֵקhe/a/NEKsighדֹּםdomin silenceמֵתִיםme/TIMfor the deadאֵבֶלE/velmourningלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂהlo-ta/a/SEdo not makeפְּאֵרְךָpe/er/KHAyour turbanחֲבוֹשׁcha/VOSHbindעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaon youוּנְעָלֶיךָu/ne/a/LE/khaand your sandalsתָּשִׂיםta/SIMputבְּרַגְלֶיךָbe/rag/LE/khaon your feetוְלֹאve/LOand do notתַעְטֶהta/TEcoverעַל־שָׂפָםal-sa/FAMthe lipוְלֶחֶםve/LE/chemand the bread ofאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenלֹאlonotתֹאכֵל׃to/KHELeat

    Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.

18. 18

    וָאֲדַבֵּרva/a/dab/BERand I spokeאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningוַתָּמׇתvat/TA/motand diedאִשְׁתִּיish/TImy wifeבָּעָרֶבba/A/revin the eveningוָאַעַשׂva/A/asand I didבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצֻוֵּיתִי׃tsuv/VE/tiI had been commanded

    So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהֲלֹא־תַגִּידha/LO-tag/GIDwill you not tellלָנוּLA/nuto usמָה־אֵלֶּהma-EL/lewhat these things areלָּנוּLA/nuto usכִּיkithatאַתָּהat/TAyouעֹשֶׂה׃o/SEare doing

    And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?

20. 20

    וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDהָיָהha/YAcameאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

21. 21

    אֱמֹרe/MORsayלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמְחַלֵּלme/chal/LELwill profaneאֶת־מִקְדָּשִׁיet-mik/da/SHImy sanctuaryגְּאוֹןge/ONthe pride ofעֻזְּכֶםuz/ze/KHEMyour strengthמַחְמַדmach/MADthe desire ofעֵינֵיכֶםe/ne/KHEMyour eyesוּמַחְמַלu/mach/MALand the pity ofנַפְשְׁכֶםnaf/she/KHEMyour soulוּבְנֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand your sonsוּבְנוֹתֵיכֶםu/ve/no/te/KHEMand your daughtersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomעֲזַבְתֶּםa/zav/TEMyou have leftבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revby the swordיִפֹּלוּ׃yip/PO/luthey shall fall

    Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

22. 22

    וַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand you shall doכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI have doneעַל־שָׂפָםal-sa/FAMthe lipלֹאlonotתַעְטוּta/TUcoverוְלֶחֶםve/LE/chemand the bread ofאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenלֹאlonotתֹאכֵלוּ׃to/KHE/luyou shall eat

    And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

23. 23

    וּפְאֵרֵכֶםu/fe/e/re/KHEMand your turbans shall beעַל־רָאשֵׁיכֶםal-ra/she/KHEMon your headsוְנַעֲלֵיכֶםve/na/a/le/KHEMand your sandalsבְּרַגְלֵיכֶםbe/rag/le/KHEMon your feetלֹאlonotתִסְפְּדוּtis/pe/DUyou shall mournוְלֹאve/LOand notתִבְכּוּtiv/KUyou shall weepוּנְמַקֹּתֶםu/ne/mak/ko/TEMbut you shall waste awayבַּעֲוֺנֹתֵיכֶםba/a/vo/no/te/KHEMin your iniquitiesוּנְהַמְתֶּםu/ne/ham/TEMand groanאִישׁishoneאֶל־אָחִיו׃el-a/CHIVto another

    And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.

24. 24

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAthus shall beיְחֶזְקֵאלYe/chez/KELEzekielלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלְמוֹפֵתle/mo/FETa signכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he has doneתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou shall doבְּבוֹאָהּbe/vo/Awhen this comesוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

25. 25

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manהֲלוֹאha/LOshall it not beבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofקַחְתִּיkach/TIwhen I takeמֵהֶםme/HEMof themאֶת־מָעוּזָּםet-ma/uz/ZAMtheir strongholdמְשׂוֹשׂme/SOSthe joy ofתִּפְאַרְתָּםtif/ar/TAMtheir gloryאֶת־מַחְמַדet-mach/MADthe desire ofעֵינֵיהֶםe/ne/HEMtheir eyesוְאֶת־מַשָּׂאve/ET-mas/SAand the longing ofנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMtheir sonsוּבְנוֹתֵיהֶם׃u/ve/no/te/HEMand their daughters

    Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,

26. 26

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeהַפָּלִיטhap/pa/LITone who escapesאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youלְהַשְׁמָעוּתle/hash/ma/UTto cause to hearאׇזְנָיִם׃oz/NA/yimwith your ears

    That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?

27. 27

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיִפָּתַחyip/PA/tachshall be openedפִּיךָPI/khayour mouthאֶת־הַפָּלִיטet-hap/pa/LITto him who has escapedוּתְדַבֵּרu/te/dab/BERand you shall speakוְלֹאve/LOand notתֵאָלֵםte/a/LEMbe muteעוֹדodagainוְהָיִיתָve/ha/YI/taand you shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themלְמוֹפֵתle/mo/FETa signוְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand they shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
