   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manשְׁתַּיִםSHTA/yimtwoנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenבְּנוֹתbe/NOTdaughters ofאֵם־אַחַתem-a/CHATone motherהָיוּ׃ha/YUwere

   Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:

   וַתִּזְנֶינָהvat/tiz/NE/naand they played the harlotבְמִצְרַיִםve/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptבִּנְעוּרֵיהֶןbin/u/re/HENin their youthזָנוּza/NUthey played the harlotשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereמֹעֲכוּmo/a/KHUwere pressedשְׁדֵיהֶןshe/de/HENtheir breastsוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereעִשּׂוּis/SUthey handledדַּדֵּיdad/DEthe nipples ofבְּתוּלֵיהֶן׃be/tu/le/HENtheir virginity

   And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

   וּשְׁמוֹתָןu/she/mo/TANand their namesאׇהֳלָהO/ho/LAAholahהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAthe elderוְאׇהֳלִיבָהve/O/ho/li/VAand Aholibahאֲחוֹתָהּa/cho/TAher sisterוַתִּהְיֶינָהvat/tih/YE/naand they becameלִיlimineוַתֵּלַדְנָהvat/te/LAD/naand they boreבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsוּבָנוֹתu/va/NOTand daughtersוּשְׁמוֹתָןu/she/mo/TANand their namesשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamaria isאׇהֳלָהO/ho/LAAholahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemאׇהֳלִיבָה׃O/ho/li/VAAholibah

   And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.

   וַתִּזֶןvat/TI/zenand played the harlotאׇהֳלָהO/ho/LAAholahתַּחְתָּיtach/TAYwhen she was mineוַתֶּעְגַּבvat/te/GAVand she dotedעַל־מְאַהֲבֶיהָal-me/a/ha/VE/haon her loversאֶל־אַשּׁוּרel-Ash/SHURon the Assyriansקְרוֹבִים׃ke/ro/VIMneighbors

   And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,

   לְבֻשֵׁיle/vu/SHEclothed inתְכֵלֶתte/KHE/letblueפַּחוֹתpa/CHOTgovernorsוּסְגָנִיםu/se/ga/NIMand rulersבַּחוּרֵיba/CHU/reyoung men ofחֶמֶדCHE/meddesireכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themפָּרָשִׁיםpa/ra/SHIMhorsemenרֹכְבֵיrokh/VEriding onסוּסִים׃su/SIMhorses

   Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.

   וַתִּתֵּןvat/tit/TENthus she committedתַּזְנוּתֶיהָtaz/nu/TE/haher harlotriesעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMwith themמִבְחַרmiv/CHARthe choicest ofבְּנֵי־אַשּׁוּרbe/NE-ash/SHURthe sons of Assyriaכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themוּבְכֹלu/ve/KHOLand with allאֲשֶׁר־עָגְבָהa/SHER-a/ge/VAon whom she dotedבְּכׇל־גִּלּוּלֵיהֶםbe/KHOL-gil/lu/le/HEMwith all their idolsנִטְמָאָה׃nit/MA/ashe defiled herself

   Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.

   וְאֶת־תַּזְנוּתֶיהָve/ET-taz/nu/TE/haand her harlotriesמִמִּצְרַיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimfrom Egyptלֹאlonotעָזָבָהa/ZA/vashe leftכִּיkiforאוֹתָהּo/TAwith herשָׁכְבוּsha/khe/VUthey layבִנְעוּרֶיהָvin/u/RE/hain her youthוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyעִשּׂוּis/SUthey handledדַּדֵּיdad/DEthe nipples ofבְתוּלֶיהָve/tu/LE/haher virginityוַיִּשְׁפְּכוּvay/yish/pe/KHUand poured outתַזְנוּתָםtaz/nu/TAMtheir harlotryעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haon her

   Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנְתַתִּיהָne/tat/TI/haI delivered herבְּיַד־מְאַהֲבֶיהָbe/YAD-me/a/ha/VE/hainto the hand of her loversבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomעָגְבָהa/ge/VAshe dotedעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMon

   Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.

    הֵמָּהHEM/matheyגִּלּוּgil/LUuncoveredעֶרְוָתָהּer/va/TAher nakednessבָּנֶיהָba/NE/haher sonsוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersלָקָחוּla/KA/chuthey tookוְאוֹתָהּve/o/TAand herבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revwith the swordהָרָגוּha/RA/guthey slewוַתְּהִי־שֵׁםvat/te/HI-shemand she became a bywordלַנָּשִׁיםlan/na/SHIMamong womenוּשְׁפוּטִיםu/she/fu/TIMfor judgmentsעָשׂוּa/SUthey executedבָהּ׃vaon her

    These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.

    וַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand when sawאֲחוֹתָהּa/cho/TAher sisterאׇהֳלִיבָהO/ho/li/VAAholibahוַתַּשְׁחֵתvat/tash/CHETshe was more corrupt inעַגְבָתָהּag/va/TAher dotingמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nathan sheוְאֶת־תַּזְנוּתֶיהָve/ET-taz/nu/TE/haand in her harlotriesמִזְּנוּנֵיmiz/ze/nu/NEmore than the harlotries ofאֲחוֹתָהּ׃a/cho/TAher sister

    And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.

    אֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the sons ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaעָגָבָהa/GA/vashe dotedפַּחוֹתpa/CHOTgovernorsוּסְגָנִיםu/se/ga/NIMand rulersקְרֹבִיםke/ro/VIMneighborsלְבֻשֵׁיle/vu/SHEclothedמִכְלוֹלmikh/LOLmost gorgeouslyפָּרָשִׁיםpa/ra/SHIMhorsemenרֹכְבֵיrokh/VEriding onסוּסִיםsu/SIMhorsesבַּחוּרֵיba/CHU/reyoung men ofחֶמֶדCHE/meddesireכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of them

    She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawכִּיkithatנִטְמָאָהnit/MA/ashe was defiledדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhwayאֶחָדe/CHADoneלִשְׁתֵּיהֶן׃lish/te/HENboth took

    Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,

14. 14

    וַתּוֹסֶףvat/TO/sefand she increasedאֶל־תַּזְנוּתֶיהָel-taz/nu/TE/haher harlotriesוַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/refor she sawאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmenמְחֻקֶּהme/chuk/KEportrayedעַל־הַקִּירal-hak/KIRon the wallצַלְמֵיtsal/MEthe images of[כַשְׂדִּים]Khas/DIMthe Chaldeansחֲקֻקִיםcha/ku/KIMportrayedבַּשָּׁשַׁר׃bash/sha/SHARin vermilion

    And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,

    חֲגוֹרֵיcha/go/REgirded withאֵזוֹרe/ZORbeltsבְּמׇתְנֵיהֶםbe/mot/ne/HEMon their loinsסְרוּחֵיse/ru/CHEflowing withטְבוּלִיםte/vu/LIMturbansבְּרָאשֵׁיהֶםbe/ra/she/HEMon their headsמַרְאֵהmar/Ein appearanceשָׁלִשִׁיםsha/li/SHIMofficersכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themדְּמוּתde/MUTafter the likeness ofבְּנֵי־בָבֶלbe/NE-va/VELthe sons of BabylonכַּשְׂדִּיםKas/DIMChaldeaאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofמוֹלַדְתָּם׃mo/lad/TAMtheir birth

    Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:

16. 16

    (ותעגב)vatgav[וַתַּעְגְּבָה]vat/ta/ge/VAand she dotedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלְמַרְאֵהle/mar/Eat the sight ofעֵינֶיהָe/NE/haher eyesוַתִּשְׁלַחvat/tish/LACHand she sentמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכַּשְׂדִּימָה׃kaS/DI/mato Chaldea

    And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herבְנֵי־בָבֶלve/NE-va/VELthe sons of Babylonלְמִשְׁכַּבle/mish/KAVinto the bed ofדֹּדִיםdo/DIMloveוַיְטַמְּאוּvay/tam/me/Uand they defiledאוֹתָהּo/TAherבְּתַזְנוּתָםbe/taz/nu/TAMwith their harlotryוַתִּטְמָא־בָםvat/tit/MA-vamand she was defiled by themוַתֵּקַעvat/TE/kaand turned awayנַפְשָׁהּnaf/SHAher soulמֵהֶם׃me/HEMfrom them

    And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.

18. 18

    וַתְּגַלvat/te/GALso she uncoveredתַּזְנוּתֶיהָtaz/nu/TE/haher harlotriesוַתְּגַלvat/te/GALand uncoveredאֶת־עֶרְוָתָהּet-er/va/TAher nakednessוַתֵּקַעvat/TE/kathen turned awayנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמֵעָלֶיהָme/a/LE/hafrom herכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנָקְעָהna/ke/Ahad turned awayנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמֵעַלme/ALfromאֲחוֹתָהּ׃a/cho/TAher sister

    So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.

19. 19

    וַתַּרְבֶּהvat/tar/BEyet she multipliedאֶת־תַּזְנוּתֶיהָet-taz/nu/TE/haher harlotriesלִזְכֹּרliz/KORin calling to remembranceאֶת־יְמֵיet-ye/MEthe days ofנְעוּרֶיהָne/u/RE/haher youthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichזָנְתָהza/ne/TAshe had played the harlotבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

20. 20

    וַתַּעְגְּבָהvat/ta/ge/VAfor she dotedעַלalonפִּלַגְשֵׁיהֶםpi/lag/she/HEMtheir paramoursאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseבְּשַׂר־חֲמוֹרִיםbe/SAR-cha/mo/RIMis the flesh of donkeysבְּשָׂרָםbe/sa/RAMtheir fleshוְזִרְמַתve/zir/MATand the issue ofסוּסִיםsu/SIMhorsesזִרְמָתָם׃zir/ma/TAMtheir issue

    For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

21. 21

    וַתִּפְקְדִיvat/tif/ke/DIthus you called to remembranceאֵת־זִמַּתet-zim/MATthe lewdness ofנְעוּרָיִךְne/u/RA/yikhyour youthבַּעְשׂוֹתba/SOTwhen handledמִמִּצְרַיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimby the Egyptiansדַּדַּיִךְdad/DA/yikhyour nipplesלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁדֵיshe/DEthe breasts ofנְעוּרָיִךְ׃ne/u/RA/yikhyour youth

    Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.

22. 22

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאׇהֳלִיבָהO/ho/li/VAAholibahכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמֵעִירme/IRwill raise upאֶת־מְאַהֲבַיִךְet-me/a/ha/VA/yikhyour loversעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־נָקְעָהet-a/SHER-na/ke/Awhom has turned awayנַפְשֵׁךְnaf/SHEKHyour soulמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themוַהֲבֵאתִיםva/ha/ve/TIMand I will bring themעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVon every side

    Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofבָבֶלVa/VELBabylonוְכׇל־כַּשְׂדִּיםve/KHOL-kas/DIMand all the ChaldeansפְּקוֹדPe/KODPekodוְשׁוֹעַve/SHO/aand Shoaוְקוֹעַve/KO/aand Koaכׇּל־בְּנֵיkol-be/NEall the sons ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaאוֹתָםo/TAMwith themבַּחוּרֵיba/CHU/reyoung men ofחֶמֶדCHE/meddesireפַּחוֹתpa/CHOTgovernorsוּסְגָנִיםu/se/ga/NIMand rulersכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themשָׁלִשִׁיםsha/li/SHIMofficersוּקְרוּאִיםu/ke/ru/IMand renownedרֹכְבֵיrokh/VEriding onסוּסִיםsu/SIMhorsesכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of them

    The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

    וּבָאוּu/VA/uand they shall comeעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youהֹצֶןHO/tsenwith weaponsרֶכֶבRE/khevchariotsוְגַלְגַּלve/gal/GALand wagonsוּבִקְהַלu/vik/HALand with an assembly ofעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesצִנָּהtsin/NAbucklerוּמָגֵןu/ma/GENand shieldוְקוֹבַעve/ko/VAand helmetיָשִׂימוּya/SI/muthey shall setעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will commitלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMto themמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjudgmentוּשְׁפָטוּךְu/she/fa/TUKHand they will judge youבְּמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶם׃be/mish/pe/te/HEMby their judgments

    And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.

    וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will setקִנְאָתִיkin/a/TImy jealousyבָּךְbakhagainst youוְעָשׂוּve/a/SUand they shall dealאוֹתָךְo/TAKHwith youבְּחֵמָהbe/che/MAin furyאַפֵּךְap/PEKHyour noseוְאׇזְנַיִךְve/oz/NA/yikhand your earsיָסִירוּya/SI/ruthey shall take awayוְאַחֲרִיתֵךְve/a/cha/ri/TEKHand your remnantבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revwith the swordתִּפּוֹלtip/POLshall fallהֵמָּהHEM/matheyבָּנַיִךְba/NA/yikhyour sonsוּבְנוֹתַיִךְu/ve/no/TA/yikhand your daughtersיִקָּחוּyik/KA/chuthey will takeוְאַחֲרִיתֵךְve/a/cha/ri/TEKHand your remnantתֵּאָכֵלte/a/KHELshall be devouredבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHby fire

    And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.

26. 26

    וְהִפְשִׁיטוּךְve/hif/shi/TUKHthey shall also strip you ofאֶת־בְּגָדָיִךְet-be/ga/DA/yikhyour clothesוְלָקְחוּve/la/ke/CHUand they will takeכְּלֵיke/LEthe jewels ofתִפְאַרְתֵּךְ׃tif/ar/TEKHyour beauty

    They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.

27. 27

    וְהִשְׁבַּתִּיve/hish/bat/TIthus I will make ceaseזִמָּתֵךְzim/ma/TEKHyour lewdnessמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHfrom youוְאֶת־זְנוּתֵךְve/ET-ze/nu/TEKHand your harlotryמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְלֹא־תִשְׂאִיve/LO-tis/Iso that you shall not lift upעֵינַיִךְe/NA/yikhyour eyesאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוּמִצְרַיִםu/Mits/RA/yimand Egyptלֹאlonotתִזְכְּרִי־עוֹד׃tiz/ke/RI-odremember again

    Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.

28. 28

    כִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iנֹתְנָךְnot/NAKHwill deliver youבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthose whomשָׂנֵאתsa/NETyou hatedבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofאֲשֶׁר־נָקְעָהa/SHER-na/ke/Athose from whom has turned awayנַפְשֵׁךְnaf/SHEKHyour soulמֵהֶם׃me/HEMfrom them

    For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:

29. 29

    וְעָשׂוּve/a/SUand they shall dealאוֹתָךְo/TAKHwith youבְּשִׂנְאָהbe/sin/Ain hatredוְלָקְחוּve/la/ke/CHUand they will takeכׇּל־יְגִיעֵךְkol-ye/gi/EKHall your laborוַעֲזָבוּךְva/a/za/VUKHand shall leave youעֵירֹםe/ROMnakedוְעֶרְיָהve/er/YAand bareוְנִגְלָהve/nig/LAand shall be uncoveredעֶרְוַתer/VATthe nakedness ofזְנוּנַיִךְze/nu/NA/yikhyour harlotriesוְזִמָּתֵךְve/zim/ma/TEKHboth your lewdnessוְתַזְנוּתָיִךְ׃ve/taz/nu/TA/yikhand your harlotries

    And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

30. 30

    עָשֹׂהa/SOdoאֵלֶּהEL/letheseלָךְlakhto youבִּזְנוֹתֵךְbiz/no/TEKHbecause you have played the harlotאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterגוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁר־נִטְמֵאתa/SHER-nit/METyou are defiledבְּגִלּוּלֵיהֶם׃be/gil/lu/le/HEMby their idols

    I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.

31. 31

    בְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhby the way ofאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterהָלָכְתְּha/LAKHTyou have walkedוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TItherefore I will giveכוֹסָהּkho/SAher cupבְּיָדֵךְ׃be/ya/DEKHin your hand

    Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.

32. 32

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODכּוֹסkosthe cup ofאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterתִּשְׁתִּיtish/TIyou shall drinkהָעֲמֻקָּהha/a/muk/KAdeepוְהָרְחָבָהve/ha/re/cha/VAand largeתִּהְיֶהtih/YEyou shall beלִצְחֹקlits/CHOKa laughingstockוּלְלַעַגu/le/LA/agand a derisionמִרְבָּהmir/BAit contains muchלְהָכִיל׃le/ha/KHILto hold

    Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

33. 33

    שִׁכָּרוֹןshik/ka/RONdrunkennessוְיָגוֹןve/ya/GONand sorrowתִּמָּלֵאִיtim/ma/LE/iyou shall be filled withכּוֹסkosthe cup ofשַׁמָּהsham/MAhorrorוּשְׁמָמָהu/she/ma/MAand desolationכּוֹסkosthe cup ofאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterשֹׁמְרוֹן׃Shom/RONSamaria

    Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.

34. 34

    וְשָׁתִיתve/sha/TITyou shall drinkאוֹתָהּo/TAitוּמָצִיתu/ma/TSITand drain it outוְאֶת־חֲרָשֶׂיהָve/ET-cha/ra/SE/haand its shardsתְּגָרֵמִיte/ga/RE/miyou shall gnawוְשָׁדַיִךְve/sha/DA/yikhand your own breastsתְּנַתֵּקִיte/nat/TE/kiyou shall tearכִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NIIדִבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tihave spokenנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

35. 35

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODיַעַןYA/anbecauseשָׁכַחַתְּsha/KHA/chattyou have forgottenאוֹתִיo/TImeוַתַּשְׁלִיכִיvat/tash/LI/khiand castאוֹתִיo/TImeאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterגַוֵּךְgav/VEKHyour backוְגַם־אַתְּve/GAM-atttherefore you alsoשְׂאִיse/Ibearזִמָּתֵךְzim/ma/TEKHyour lewdnessוְאֶת־תַּזְנוּתָיִךְ׃ve/ET-taz/nu/TA/yikhand your harlotries

    Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

36. 36

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manהֲתִשְׁפּוֹטha/tish/POTwill you judgeאֶת־אׇהֳלָהet-O/ho/LAAholahוְאֶת־אׇהֳלִיבָהve/ET-o/ho/li/VAand Aholibahוְהַגֵּדve/hag/GEDthen declareלָהֶןla/HENto themאֵת־תּוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶן׃et-to/a/vo/te/HENtheir abominations

    The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;

37. 37

    כִּיkiforנִאֵפוּni/E/futhey have committed adulteryוְדָםve/DAMand blood isבִּידֵיהֶןbi/de/HENon their handsוְאֶת־גִּלּוּלֵיהֶןve/ET-gil/lu/le/HENand with their idolsנִאֵפוּni/E/futhey have committed adulteryוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶןet-be/ne/HENtheir sonsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיָלְדוּ־לִיya/le/DU-lithey bore to meהֶעֱבִירוּhe/e/VI/ruthey have caused to passלָהֶםla/HEMto themלְאׇכְלָה׃le/okh/LAto be devoured

    That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.

38. 38

    עוֹדodmoreoverזֹאתzotthisעָשׂוּa/SUthey have doneלִיlito meטִמְּאוּtim/me/Uthey defiledאֶת־מִקְדָּשִׁיet-mik/da/SHImy sanctuaryבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיve/ET-shab/be/to/TAYand my sabbathsחִלֵּלוּ׃chil/LE/luthey have profaned

    Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.

39. 39

    וּבְשַׁחֲטָםu/ve/sha/cha/TAMfor when they had slainאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםet-be/ne/HEMtheir sonsלְגִלּוּלֵיהֶםle/gil/lu/le/HEMto their idolsוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uthen they cameאֶל־מִקְדָּשִׁיel-mik/da/SHIto my sanctuaryבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatלְחַלְּלוֹle/chal/le/LOto profane itוְהִנֵּה־כֹהve/hin/NE-khoand behold thusעָשׂוּa/SUhave they doneבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofבֵּיתִי׃be/TImy house

    For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.

40. 40

    וְאַףve/AFand furthermoreכִּיkithatתִשְׁלַחְנָהtish/LACH/nayou have sentלַאֲנָשִׁיםla/a/na/SHIMfor menבָּאִיםba/IMto comeמִמֶּרְחָקmim/mer/CHAKfrom afarאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomמַלְאָךְmal/AKHa messenger wasשָׁלוּחַsha/LU/achsentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְהִנֵּה־בָאוּve/hin/NE-VA/uand behold they cameלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERfor whomרָחַצְתְּra/CHATSTyou washed yourselfכָּחַלְתְּka/CHALTpaintedעֵינַיִךְe/NA/yikhyour eyesוְעָדִיתve/A/ditand decked yourself withעֶדִי׃E/diornaments

    And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,

41. 41

    וְיָשַׁבְתְּve/ya/SHAVTand you satעַל־מִטָּהal-mit/TAon a couchכְבוּדָּהkhe/vud/DAstatelyוְשֻׁלְחָןve/shul/CHANand a tableעָרוּךְa/RUKHpreparedלְפָנֶיהָle/fa/NE/habefore itוּקְטׇרְתִּיu/ke/tor/TIand my incenseוְשַׁמְנִיve/sham/NIand my oilשַׂמְתְּsamtyou have setעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haon it

    And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.

42. 42

    וְקוֹלve/KOLand the sound ofהָמוֹןha/MONa crowdשָׁלֵוsha/LEVat easeבָֿהּvawas with herוְאֶל־אֲנָשִׁיםve/EL-a/na/SHIMand with menמֵרֹבme/ROVof the multitude ofאָדָםa/DAMmankindמוּבָאִיםmu/va/IMwere brought[סׇבָאִים]So/va/IMthe Sabeansמִמִּדְבָּרmim/mid/BARfrom the wildernessוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUwho putצְמִידִיםtse/mi/DIMbraceletsאֶל־יְדֵיהֶןel-ye/de/HENon their handsוַעֲטֶרֶתva/a/TE/retand crowns ofתִּפְאֶרֶתtif/E/retbeautyעַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶן׃al-ra/she/HENon their heads

    And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.

43. 43

    וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidלַבָּלָהlab/ba/LAof her worn outנִאוּפִיםni/u/FIMin adulteries(עת)t[עַתָּה]at/TAnow[יִזְנוּ]yiz/NUwill they commit harlotriesתַזְנוּתֶהָtaz/nu/TE/hawith her harlotriesוָהִיא׃va/HIeven she

    Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?

44. 44

    וַיָּבוֹאvay/ya/VOyet they went inאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herכְּבוֹאke/VOas they go inאֶל־אִשָּׁהel-ish/SHAto a womanזוֹנָהzo/NAharlotכֵּןkensoבָּאוּBA/uthey went inאֶל־אׇהֳלָהel-O/ho/LAto Aholahוְאֶל־אׇהֳלִיבָהve/EL-o/ho/li/VAand to Aholibahאִשֹּׁתish/SHOTthe women ofהַזִּמָּה׃haz/zim/MAlewdness

    Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.

45. 45

    וַאֲנָשִׁיםva/a/na/SHIMand menצַדִּיקִםtsad/di/KIMrighteousהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיִשְׁפְּטוּyish/pe/TUshall judgeאוֹתְהֶםot/HEMthemמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATwith the judgment ofנֹאֲפוֹתno/a/FOTadulteressesוּמִשְׁפַּטu/mish/PATand the judgment ofשֹׁפְכוֹתshof/KHOTwomen who shedדָּםdambloodכִּיkibecauseנֹאֲפֹתno/a/FOTadulteressesהֵנָּהHEN/nathey areוְדָםve/DAMand blood isבִּידֵיהֶן׃bi/de/HENon their hands

    And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

46. 46

    כִּיkiforכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהַעֲלֵהha/a/LEbring upעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themקָהָלka/HALan assemblyוְנָתֹןve/na/TONand giveאֶתְהֶןet/HENthemלְזַעֲוָהle/za/a/VAa terrorוְלָבַז׃ve/la/VAZand a spoil

    For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.

47. 47

    וְרָגְמוּve/ra/ge/MUand they will stoneעֲלֵיהֶןa/le/HENthemאֶבֶןE/venwith stonesקָהָלka/HALthe assemblyוּבָרֵאu/va/REand cut downאוֹתְהֶןot/HENthemבְּחַרְבוֹתָםbe/char/vo/TAMwith their swordsבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMtheir sonsוּבְנוֹתֵיהֶםu/ve/no/te/HEMand their daughtersיַהֲרֹגוּya/ha/RO/guthey shall slayוּבָתֵּיהֶןu/vat/te/HENand their housesבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireיִשְׂרֹפוּ׃yis/RO/futhey shall burn

    And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

48. 48

    וְהִשְׁבַּתִּיve/hish/bat/TIthus I will make ceaseזִמָּהzim/MAlewdnessמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the landוְנִוַּסְּרוּve/niv/vas/se/RUthat may be taughtכׇּל־הַנָּשִׁיםkol-han/na/SHIMall womenוְלֹאve/LOand notתַעֲשֶׂינָהta/a/SE/nadoכְּזִמַּתְכֶנָה׃ke/zim/mat/KHE/naafter your lewdness

    Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

49. 49

    וְנָתְנוּve/na/te/NUand they shall recompenseזִמַּתְכֶנָהzim/mat/KHE/nayour lewdnessעֲלֵיכֶןa/le/KHENon youוַחֲטָאֵיva/cha/ta/Eand the sins ofגִלּוּלֵיכֶןgil/lu/le/KHENyour idolsתִּשֶּׂאינָהtis/SEY/nayou shall bearוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
