   And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.

   Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manדַּבֵּרdab/BERspeak toאֶת־זִקְנֵיet-zik/NEthe elders ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהֲלִדְרֹשׁha/lid/ROSHto inquire ofאֹתִיo/TImeאַתֶּםat/TEMare youבָּאִיםba/IMcomingחַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveאִם־אִדָּרֵשׁim-id/da/RESHI will not be inquired ofלָכֶםla/KHEMby youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

   Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

   Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:

   וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofבׇּחֳרִיbo/cho/RIwhen I choseבְיִשְׂרָאֵלVe/yis/ra/ELIsraelוָאֶשָּׂאva/es/SAand lifted upיָדִיya/DImy handלְזֶרַעle/ZE/rato the seed ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobוָאִוָּדַעva/iv/va/DAand I made myself knownלָהֶםla/HEMto themבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוָאֶשָּׂאva/es/SAI lifted upיָדִיya/DImy handלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

   And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;

   In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:

   וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themאִישׁisheachשִׁקּוּצֵיshik/ku/TSEthe detestable things ofעֵינָיוe/NAYVhis eyesהַשְׁלִיכוּhash/LI/khucast awayוּבְגִלּוּלֵיu/ve/gil/lu/LEand with the idols ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptאַל־תִּטַּמָּאוּal-tit/tam/MA/udo not defile yourselvesאֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

   Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

   וַיַּמְרוּ־בִיvay/yam/RU-viand they rebelled against meוְלֹאve/LOand notאָבוּa/VUthey wouldלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/alistenאֵלַיe/LAYto meאִישׁisheachאֶת־שִׁקּוּצֵיet-shik/ku/TSEthe detestable things ofעֵינֵיהֶםe/ne/HEMtheir eyesלֹאlonotהִשְׁלִיכוּhish/LI/khucast awayוְאֶת־גִּלּוּלֵיve/ET-gil/lu/LEand the idols ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלֹאlonotעָזָבוּa/ZA/vudid they forsakeוָאֹמַרva/o/MARthen I saidלִשְׁפֹּךְlish/POKHI would pour outחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלְכַלּוֹתle/khal/LOTto spendאַפִּיap/PImy angerבָּהֶםba/HEMon themבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

   But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

   וָאַעַשׂva/A/asbut I workedלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהֵחֵלhe/CHELit should be profanedלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁר־הֵמָּהa/SHER-HEM/mathat they wereבְתוֹכָםve/to/KHAMamong themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנוֹדַעְתִּיno/DA/tiI made myself knownאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלְעֵינֵיהֶםle/e/ne/HEMbefore their eyesלְהוֹצִיאָםle/ho/tsi/AMin bringing them outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

   But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

    וָאוֹצִיאֵםva/o/tsi/EMso I brought them outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוָאֲבִאֵםva/a/vi/EMand I brought themאֶל־הַמִּדְבָּר׃el-ham/mid/BARto the wilderness

    Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

11. 11

    וָאֶתֵּןva/et/TENand I gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־חֻקּוֹתַיet-chuk/ko/TAYmy statutesוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand my judgmentsהוֹדַעְתִּיho/DA/tiI made knownאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEif doesאוֹתָםo/TAMthemהָאָדָםha/a/DAMa manוָחַיva/CHAYhe shall liveבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMby them

    And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.

12. 12

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיet-shab/be/to/TAYmy sabbathsנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלְאוֹתle/OTfor a signבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֵיהֶםu/ve/ne/HEMand between themלָדַעַתla/DA/atthat they might knowכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמְקַדְּשָׁם׃me/kad/de/SHAMsanctify them

    Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

13. 13

    וַיַּמְרוּ־בִיvay/yam/RU-viand they rebelled against meבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵלvet-Yis/ra/ELthe house of Israelבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessבְּחֻקּוֹתַיbe/chuk/ko/TAYin my statutesלֹא־הָלָכוּlo-ha/LA/khuthey did not walkוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand my judgmentsמָאָסוּma/A/suthey rejectedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEif doesאֹתָםo/TAMthemהָאָדָםha/a/DAMa manוָחַיva/CHAYhe shall liveבָּהֶםba/HEMby themוְאֶת־שַׁבְּתֹתַיve/ET-shab/be/to/TAYand my sabbathsחִלְּלוּchil/le/LUthey profanedמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyוָאֹמַרva/o/MARthen I saidלִשְׁפֹּךְlish/POKHI would pour outחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessלְכַלּוֹתָם׃le/khal/lo/TAMto consume them

    But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

14. 14

    וָאֶעֱשֶׂהva/e/e/SEbut I workedלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהֵחֵלhe/CHELit should be profanedלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whose sightהוֹצֵאתִיםho/tse/TIMI brought them outלְעֵינֵיהֶם׃le/e/ne/HEMbefore their eyes

    But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

15. 15

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NIyet also Iנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI lifted upיָדִיya/DImy handלָהֶםla/HEMto themבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהָבִיאha/VII would bringאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsto the landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתִּיa/SHER-na/TAT/tiwhich I had givenזָבַתza/VATflowing withחָלָבcha/LAVmilkוּדְבַשׁu/de/VASHand honeyצְבִיtse/VIthe beautyהִיאhiwhich isלְכׇל־הָאֲרָצוֹת׃le/KHOL-ha/a/ra/TSOTof all the lands

    Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

16. 16

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseבְּמִשְׁפָּטַיbe/mish/pa/TAYmy judgmentsמָאָסוּma/A/suthey rejectedוְאֶת־חֻקּוֹתַיve/ET-chuk/ko/TAYand my statutesלֹא־הָלְכוּlo-ha/le/KHUthey did not walkבָהֶםva/HEMin themוְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיve/ET-shab/be/to/TAYand my sabbathsחִלֵּלוּchil/LE/luthey profanedכִּיkiforאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterגִלּוּלֵיהֶםgil/lu/le/HEMtheir idolsלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartהֹלֵךְ׃ho/LEKHwent

    Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

17. 17

    וַתָּחׇסvat/TA/chosyet sparedעֵינִיe/NImy eyeעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemמִשַּׁחֲתָםmish/sha/cha/TAMfrom destroying themוְלֹא־עָשִׂיתִיve/LO-a/SI/tiand I did not makeאוֹתָםo/TAMof themכָּלָהka/LAa full endבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the wilderness

    Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

18. 18

    וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֶל־בְּנֵיהֶםel-be/ne/HEMto their childrenבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessבְּחוּקֵּיbe/chuk/KEin the statutes ofאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersאַל־תֵּלֵכוּal-te/LE/khudo not walkוְאֶת־מִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶםve/ET-mish/pe/te/HEMand their judgmentsאַל־תִּשְׁמֹרוּal-tish/MO/rudo not keepוּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶםu/ve/gil/lu/le/HEMand with their idolsאַל־תִּטַּמָּאוּ׃al-tit/tam/MA/udo not defile yourselves

    But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

19. 19

    אֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godבְּחֻקּוֹתַיbe/chuk/ko/TAYin my statutesלֵכוּLE/khuwalkוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand my judgmentsשִׁמְרוּshim/RUkeepוַעֲשׂוּva/a/SUand doאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;

20. 20

    וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיve/ET-shab/be/to/TAYand my sabbathsקַדֵּשׁוּkad/DE/shuhallowוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand they shall beלְאוֹתle/OTfor a signבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand between youלָדַעַתla/DA/atthat you may knowכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

    And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

21. 21

    וַיַּמְרוּ־בִיvay/yam/RU-viand they rebelled against meהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMthe childrenבְּחֻקּוֹתַיbe/chuk/ko/TAYin my statutesלֹא־הָלָכוּlo-ha/LA/khuthey did not walkוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand my judgmentsלֹא־שָׁמְרוּlo-sha/me/RUthey did not keepלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאוֹתָםo/TAMthemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEif doesאוֹתָםo/TAMthemהָאָדָםha/a/DAMa manוָחַיva/CHAYhe shall liveבָּהֶםba/HEMby themאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיet-shab/be/to/TAYmy sabbathsחִלֵּלוּchil/LE/luthey profanedוָאֹמַרva/o/MARthen I saidלִשְׁפֹּךְlish/POKHI would pour outחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלְכַלּוֹתle/khal/LOTto spendאַפִּיap/PImy angerבָּםbamon themבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the wilderness

    Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

22. 22

    וַהֲשִׁבֹתִיva/ha/shi/vo/TInevertheless I withdrewאֶת־יָדִיet-ya/DImy handוָאַעַשׂva/A/asand workedלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהֵחֵלhe/CHELit should be profanedלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵאתִיa/SHER-ho/TSE/tiin whose sight I had brought outאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלְעֵינֵיהֶם׃le/e/ne/HEMbefore their eyes

    Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.

23. 23

    גַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NIalso Iנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI lifted upאֶת־יָדִיet-ya/DImy handלָהֶםla/HEMto themבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessלְהָפִיץle/ha/FITSthat I would scatterאֹתָםo/TAMthemבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsוּלְזָרוֹתu/le/za/ROTand disperseאוֹתָםo/TAMthemבָּאֲרָצוֹת׃ba/a/ra/TSOTin the lands

    I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

24. 24

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseמִשְׁפָּטַיmish/pa/TAYmy judgmentsלֹא־עָשׂוּlo-a/SUthey had not executedוְחֻקּוֹתַיve/chuk/ko/TAYand my statutesמָאָסוּma/A/suthey rejectedוְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַיve/ET-shab/be/to/TAYand my sabbathsחִלֵּלוּchil/LE/luthey had profanedוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterגִּלּוּלֵיgil/lu/LEthe idols ofאֲבוֹתָםa/vo/TAMtheir fathersהָיוּha/YUwereעֵינֵיהֶם׃e/ne/HEMtheir eyes

    Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

25. 25

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NItherefore I alsoנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themחֻקִּיםchuk/KIMstatutesלֹאlothat were notטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodוּמִשְׁפָּטִיםu/mish/pa/TIMand judgmentsלֹאlonotיִחְיוּyich/YUthey could liveבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMby them

    Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

26. 26

    וָאֲטַמֵּאva/a/tam/MEand I defiledאוֹתָםo/TAMthemבְּמַתְּנוֹתָםbe/mat/te/no/TAMin their own giftsבְּהַעֲבִירbe/ha/a/VIRin that they caused to pass throughכׇּל־פֶּטֶרkol-PE/terall that opensרָחַםRA/chamthe wombלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֲשִׁמֵּםa/shim/MEMI might make them desolateלְמַעַןle/MA/anto the endאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיֵדְעוּyed/Uthey might knowאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeדַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODעוֹדodyetזֹאתzotin thisגִּדְּפוּgid/de/FUhave blasphemedאוֹתִיo/TImeאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersבְּמַעֲלָםbe/ma/a/LAMin that they committedבִּיbiagainst meמָעַל׃ma/ALtreachery

    Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

    וָאֲבִיאֵםva/a/vi/EMand I brought themאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsto the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERfor whichנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI had lifted upאֶת־יָדִיet-ya/DImy handלָתֵתla/TETto giveאוֹתָהּo/TAitלָהֶםla/HEMto themוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uthen they sawכׇל־גִּבְעָהkhol-giv/Aevery hillרָמָהra/MAhighוְכׇל־עֵץve/KHOL-etsand every treeעָבֹתa/VOTthickוַיִּזְבְּחוּ־שָׁםvay/yiz/be/CHU-shamand sacrificed thereאֶת־זִבְחֵיהֶםet-ziv/che/HEMtheir sacrificesוַיִּתְּנוּ־שָׁםvay/yit/te/NU-shamand they presented thereכַּעַסKA/asthe provocation ofקׇרְבָּנָםkor/ba/NAMtheir offeringוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they madeשָׁםshamthereרֵיחַRE/achthe scent ofנִיחוֹחֵיהֶםni/cho/che/HEMtheir pleasing offeringsוַיַּסִּיכוּvay/yas/SI/khuand they poured outשָׁםshamthereאֶת־נִסְכֵּיהֶם׃et-nis/ke/HEMtheir drink offerings

    For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.

29. 29

    וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themמָהmawhat isהַבָּמָהhab/ba/MAthe high placeאֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּםa/SHER-at/TEMto which youהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMgoשָׁםshamthereוַיִּקָּרֵאvay/yik/ka/REso is calledשְׁמָהּshe/MAits nameבָּמָהBa/MABamahעַדadtoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.

30. 30

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֱמֹרe/MORsayאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהַבְּדֶרֶךְhab/be/DE/rekhin the way ofאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersאַתֶּםat/TEMdo youנִטְמְאִיםnit/me/IMdefile yourselvesוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶםshik/ku/tse/HEMtheir detestable thingsאַתֶּםat/TEMdo youזֹנִים׃zo/NIMplay the harlot

    Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?

31. 31

    וּבִשְׂאֵתu/vis/ETand when you offerמַתְּנֹתֵיכֶםmat/te/no/te/KHEMyour giftsבְּהַעֲבִירbe/ha/a/VIRwhen you make pass throughבְּנֵיכֶםbe/ne/KHEMyour sonsבָּאֵשׁba/ESHthe fireאַתֶּםat/TEMyouנִטְמְאִיםnit/me/IMdefile yourselvesלְכׇל־גִּלּוּלֵיכֶםle/KHOL-gil/lu/le/KHEMwith all your idolsעַד־הַיּוֹםad-hay/YOMto this dayוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand shall Iאִדָּרֵשׁid/da/RESHbe inquired ofלָכֶםla/KHEMby youבֵּיתbetO house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelחַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאִם־אִדָּרֵשׁim-id/da/RESHI will not be inquired ofלָכֶם׃la/KHEMby you

    For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

32. 32

    וְהָעֹלָהve/ha/o/LAand what comesעַל־רוּחֲכֶםal-ru/cha/KHEMinto your mindהָיוֹha/YObeלֹאloshall notתִהְיֶהtih/YEbeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe will beכַגּוֹיִםkhag/go/YIMlike the nationsכְּמִשְׁפְּחוֹתke/mish/pe/CHOTlike the families ofהָאֲרָצוֹתha/a/ra/TSOTthe landsלְשָׁרֵתle/sha/RETto serveעֵץetswoodוָאָבֶן׃va/A/venand stone

    And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

33. 33

    חַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאִם־לֹאim-losurelyבְּיָדbe/YADwith a handחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAmightyוּבִזְרוֹעַu/viz/RO/aand with an armנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAoutstretchedוּבְחֵמָהu/ve/che/MAand with furyשְׁפוּכָהshe/fu/KHApoured outאֶמְלוֹךְem/LOKHwill I be kingעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMover you

    As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:

34. 34

    וְהוֹצֵאתִיve/ho/tse/TIand I will bring outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִן־הָעַמִּיםmin-ha/am/MIMfrom the peoplesוְקִבַּצְתִּיve/kib/bats/TIand I will gatherאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִן־הָאֲרָצוֹתmin-ha/a/ra/TSOTfrom the landsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנְפוֹצֹתֶםne/fo/tso/TEMyou have been scatteredבָּםbamin themבְּיָדbe/YADwith a handחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAmightyוּבִזְרוֹעַu/viz/RO/aand with an armנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAoutstretchedוּבְחֵמָהu/ve/che/MAand with furyשְׁפוּכָה׃she/fu/KHApoured out

    And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

35. 35

    וְהֵבֵאתִיve/he/ve/TIand I will bringאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֶל־מִדְבַּרel-mid/BARinto the wilderness ofהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesוְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּיve/nish/pat/TIand I will enter into judgmentאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youשָׁםshamthereפָּנִיםpa/NIMfaceאֶל־פָּנִים׃el-pa/NIMto face

    And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.

36. 36

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנִשְׁפַּטְתִּיnish/PAT/tiI entered into judgmentאֶת־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶםet-a/vo/te/KHEMwith your fathersבְּמִדְבַּרbe/mid/BARin the wilderness ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptכֵּןkensoאִשָּׁפֵטish/sha/FETI will enter into judgmentאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.

37. 37

    וְהַעֲבַרְתִּיve/ha/a/var/TIand I will cause to passאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַשָּׁבֶטhash/SHA/vetthe rodוְהֵבֵאתִיve/he/ve/TIand I will bringאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּמָסֹרֶתbe/ma/SO/retinto the bond ofהַבְּרִית׃hab/be/RITthe covenant

    And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

38. 38

    וּבָרוֹתִיu/va/ro/TIand I will purge outמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youהַמֹּרְדִיםham/mor/DIMthe rebelsוְהַפּוֹשְׁעִיםve/hap/posh/IMand those who transgressבִּיbiagainst meמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמְגוּרֵיהֶםme/gu/re/HEMwhere they sojournאוֹצִיאo/TSII will bring outאוֹתָםo/TAMthemוְאֶל־אַדְמַתve/EL-ad/MATbut into the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלֹאlonotיָבוֹאya/VOshall enterוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

39. 39

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMas for youבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵלbet-Yis/ra/ELO house of Israelכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאִישׁisheachגִּלּוּלָיוgil/lu/LAYVhis idolsלְכוּle/KHUgoעֲבֹדוּa/VO/duserveוְאַחַרve/a/CHARand hereafterאִם־אֵינְכֶםim-e/ne/KHEMif you will notשֹׁמְעִיםshom/IMlistenאֵלָיe/LAYto meוְאֶת־שֵׁםve/ET-shembut the name ofקׇדְשִׁיkod/SHImy holinessלֹאlonotתְחַלְּלוּ־עוֹדte/chal/le/LU-odyou shall profane againבְּמַתְּנוֹתֵיכֶםbe/mat/te/no/te/KHEMby your giftsוּבְגִלּוּלֵיכֶם׃u/ve/gil/lu/le/KHEMand by your idols

    As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

40. 40

    כִּיkiforבְהַר־קׇדְשִׁיve/HAR-kod/SHIon my holy mountainבְּהַרbe/HARon the mountain ofמְרוֹםme/ROMthe height ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODשָׁםshamthereיַעַבְדֻנִיya/av/DU/nishall serve meכׇּל־בֵּיתkol-betall the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכֻּלֹּהkul/LOall of themבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landשָׁםshamthereאֶרְצֵםer/TSEMwill I accept themוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereאֶדְרוֹשׁed/ROSHwill I requireאֶת־תְּרוּמֹתֵיכֶםet-te/ru/mo/te/KHEMyour offeringsוְאֶת־רֵאשִׁיתve/ET-re/SHITand the firstfruits ofמַשְׂאוֹתֵיכֶםmas/o/te/KHEMyour giftsבְּכׇל־קׇדְשֵׁיכֶם׃be/KHOL-kod/she/KHEMwith all your holy things

    For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

41. 41

    בְּרֵיחַbe/RE/achwith a scent ofנִיחֹחַni/CHO/achpleasingאֶרְצֶהer/TSEI will acceptאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּהוֹצִיאִיbe/ho/tsi/Iwhen I bring outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִן־הָעַמִּיםmin-ha/am/MIMfrom the peoplesוְקִבַּצְתִּיve/kib/bats/TIand gatherאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִן־הָאֲרָצוֹתmin-ha/a/ra/TSOTfrom the landsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנְפֹצֹתֶםne/fo/tso/TEMyou have been scatteredבָּםbamin themוְנִקְדַּשְׁתִּיve/nik/DASH/tiand I will be sanctifiedבָכֶםva/KHEMin youלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/go/YIMthe nations

    I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

42. 42

    וִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבַּהֲבִיאִיba/ha/vi/Iwhen I bringאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֶל־אַדְמַתel-ad/MATinto the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsinto the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERfor whichנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI lifted upאֶת־יָדִיet-ya/DImy handלָתֵתla/TETto giveאוֹתָהּo/TAitלַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶם׃la/a/vo/te/KHEMto your fathers

    And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.

43. 43

    וּזְכַרְתֶּם־שָׁםu/ze/khar/TEM-shamand there you shall rememberאֶת־דַּרְכֵיכֶםet-dar/khe/KHEMyour waysוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־עֲלִילוֹתֵיכֶםkol-a/li/lo/te/KHEMall your doingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichנִטְמֵאתֶםnit/me/TEMyou have defiled yourselvesבָּםbamin themוּנְקֹטֹתֶםu/ne/ko/to/TEMand you shall loathe yourselvesבִּפְנֵיכֶםbif/ne/KHEMin your own sightבְּכׇל־רָעוֹתֵיכֶםbe/KHOL-ra/o/te/KHEMfor all your evilsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעֲשִׂיתֶם׃a/si/TEMyou have committed

    And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

44. 44

    וִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבַּעֲשׂוֹתִיba/a/so/TIwhen I have dealtאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameלֹאlonotכְדַרְכֵיכֶםkhe/dar/khe/KHEMaccording to your waysהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMevilוְכַעֲלִילוֹתֵיכֶםve/kha/a/li/lo/te/KHEMnor according to your doingsהַנִּשְׁחָתוֹתhan/nish/cha/TOTcorruptבֵּיתbetO house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
