   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manהוֹדַעho/DAcause to knowאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemאֶת־תּוֹעֲבֹתֶיהָ׃et-to/a/vo/TE/haher abominations

   Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

   וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםlI/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemמְכֹרֹתַיִךְme/kho/ro/TA/yikhyour originוּמֹלְדֹתַיִךְu/mol/do/TA/yikhand your birthמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofהַכְּנַעֲנִיhak/Ke/na/a/NIthe Canaaniteאָבִיךְa/VIKHyour fatherהָאֱמֹרִיha/E/mo/RIthe Amoriteוְאִמֵּךְve/im/MEKHand your motherחִתִּית׃Chit/TITa Hittite

   And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

   וּמוֹלְדוֹתַיִךְu/mol/do/TA/yikhand as for your birthבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofהוּלֶּדֶתhul/LE/detbeing bornאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyouלֹא־כׇרַּתlo-khor/RATwas not cutשׇׁרֵּךְshor/REKHyour navelוּבְמַיִםu/ve/MA/yimand in waterלֹא־רֻחַצְתְּlo-ru/CHATSTyou were not washedלְמִשְׁעִיle/mish/Ito cleanse youוְהׇמְלֵחַve/hom/LE/achand saltedלֹאlonotהֻמְלַחַתְּhum/LA/chattyou were saltedוְהׇחְתֵּלve/hoch/TELand swaddledלֹאlonotחֻתָּלְתְּ׃chut/TALTyou were swaddled

   And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

   לֹא־חָסָהlo-CHA/sadid not pityעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhyouעַיִןA/yinan eyeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doלָךְlakhfor youאַחַתa/CHAToneמֵאֵלֶּהme/EL/leof theseלְחֻמְלָהle/chum/LAto have compassionעָלָיִךְa/LA/yikhon youוַתֻּשְׁלְכִיvat/tush/le/KHIbut you were cast outאֶל־פְּנֵיel-pe/NEon the face ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldבְּגֹעַלbe/GO/alin the loathing ofנַפְשֵׁךְnaf/SHEKHyour soulבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofהֻלֶּדֶתhul/LE/detbeing bornאֹתָךְ׃o/TAKHyou

   None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

   וָאֶעֱבֹרva/e/e/VORand I passed byעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhyouוָאֶרְאֵךְva/er/EKHand I saw youמִתְבּוֹסֶסֶתmit/bo/SE/setwallowingבְּדָמָיִךְbe/da/MA/yikhin your bloodוָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidלָךְlakhto youבְּדָמַיִךְbe/da/MA/yikhin your bloodחֲיִיcha/YIliveוָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidלָךְlakhto youבְּדָמַיִךְbe/da/MA/yikhin your bloodחֲיִי׃cha/YIlive

   And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

   רְבָבָהre/va/VAa myriadכְּצֶמַחke/TSE/machlike the growth ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldנְתַתִּיךְne/tat/TIKHI made youוַתִּרְבִּיvat/tir/BIand you increasedוַתִּגְדְּלִיvat/tig/de/LIand grew upוַתָּבֹאִיvat/ta/VO/iand cameבַּעֲדִיba/a/DIto the ornament ofעֲדָיִיםa/da/YIMornamentsשָׁדַיִםsha/DA/yimbreastsנָכֹנוּna/KHO/nuwere formedוּשְׂעָרֵךְu/se/a/REKHand your hairצִמֵּחַtsim/ME/achit had grownוְאַתְּve/ATTand youעֵרֹםe/ROMnakedוְעֶרְיָה׃ve/er/YAand bare

   I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.

   וָאֶעֱבֹרva/e/e/VORand I passed byעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhyouוָאֶרְאֵךְva/er/EKHand I saw youוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעִתֵּךְit/TEKHyour time wasעֵתetthe time ofדֹּדִיםdo/DIMloveוָאֶפְרֹשׂva/ef/ROSand I spreadכְּנָפִיke/na/FImy skirtעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhover youוָאֲכַסֶּהva/a/khas/SEand I coveredעֶרְוָתֵךְer/va/TEKHyour nakednessוָאֶשָּׁבַעva/esh/SHA/vaand I sworeלָךְlakhto youוָאָבוֹאva/a/VOand enteredבִבְרִיתviv/RITinto a covenantאֹתָךְo/TAKHwith youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODוַתִּהְיִי־לִי׃vat/TIH/yi-liand you became mine

   Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.

   וָאֶרְחָצֵךְva/er/cha/TSEKHand I washed youבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimin the waterוָאֶשְׁטֹףva/esh/TOFand I washed offדָּמַיִךְda/MA/yikhyour bloodמֵעָלָיִךְme/a/LA/yikhfrom youוָאֲסֻכֵךְva/a/su/KHEKHand anointed youבַּשָּׁמֶן׃bash/SHA/menwith the oil

   Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

10. 10

    וָאַלְבִּישֵׁךְva/al/bi/SHEKHand I clothed youרִקְמָהrik/MAwith embroidered clothוָאֶנְעֲלֵךְva/en/a/LEKHand I shod youתָּחַשׁTA/chashtahashוָאֶחְבְּשֵׁךְva/ech/be/SHEKHand I bound youבַּשֵּׁשׁbash/SHESHwith fine linenוַאֲכַסֵּךְva/a/khas/SEKHand I covered youמֶשִׁי׃ME/shiwith silk

    I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.

11. 11

    וָאֶעְדֵּךְva/e/DEKHand I adorned youעֶדִיE/diwith ornamentsוָאֶתְּנָהva/et/te/NAand I putצְמִידִיםtse/mi/DIMbraceletsעַל־יָדַיִךְal-ya/DA/yikhon your handsוְרָבִידve/ra/VIDand a chainעַל־גְּרוֹנֵךְ׃al-ge/ro/NEKHon your neck

    I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.

12. 12

    וָאֶתֵּן־נֶזֶםVA/et/ten-NE/zemand I put a ringעַל־אַפֵּךְal-ap/PEKHon your noseוַעֲגִילִיםva/a/gi/LIMand earringsעַל־אׇזְנָיִךְal-oz/NA/yikhin your earsוַעֲטֶרֶתva/a/TE/retand a crown ofתִּפְאֶרֶתtif/E/retbeautyבְּרֹאשֵׁךְ׃be/ro/SHEKHon your head

    And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

    וַתַּעְדִּיvat/ta/DIthus you were adorned withזָהָבza/HAVgoldוָכֶסֶףva/KHE/sefand silverוּמַלְבּוּשֵׁךְu/mal/bu/SHEKHand your clothing was(ששי)shashay[שֵׁשׁ]sheshfine linenוָמֶשִׁיva/ME/shiand silkוְרִקְמָהve/rik/MAand embroidered clothסֹלֶתSO/letfine flourוּדְבַשׁu/de/VASHand honeyוָשֶׁמֶןva/SHE/menand oil(אכלתי)khalatay[אָכָלְתְּ]a/KHALTyou ateוַתִּיפִיvat/TI/fiand you became beautifulבִּמְאֹדbim/ODexceedinglyמְאֹדme/ODveryוַתִּצְלְחִיvat/tits/le/CHIand you advancedלִמְלוּכָה׃lim/lu/KHAto royalty

    Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outלָךְlakhyourשֵׁםshemrenownבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsבְּיׇפְיֵךְbe/yof/YEKHin your beautyכִּיkibecauseכָּלִילka/LILperfectהוּאhuit wasבַּהֲדָרִיba/ha/da/RIthrough my splendorאֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתִּיa/SHER-SAM/tithat I had putעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhon youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

15. 15

    וַתִּבְטְחִיvat/tiv/te/CHIand you trustedבְיׇפְיֵךְve/yof/YEKHin your beautyוַתִּזְנִיvat/tiz/NIand you played the harlotעַל־שְׁמֵךְal-she/MEKHbecause of your renownוַתִּשְׁפְּכִיvat/tish/pe/KHIand you poured outאֶת־תַּזְנוּתַיִךְet-taz/nu/TA/yikhyour harlotriesעַל־כׇּל־עוֹבֵרal-kol-o/VERon everyone who passed byלוֹ־יֶהִי׃lo-YE/hihis it was

    But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

16. 16

    וַתִּקְחִיvat/tik/CHIand you tookמִבְּגָדַיִךְmib/be/ga/DA/yikhof your garmentsוַתַּעֲשִׂי־לָךְvat/ta/a/SI-lakhand made for yourselfבָּמוֹתba/MOThigh placesטְלֻאוֹתte/lu/OTof various colorsוַתִּזְנִיvat/tiz/NIand you played the harlotעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלֹאlonotבָאוֹתva/OTcomingוְלֹאve/LOnorיִהְיֶה׃yih/YEshall be

    And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

17. 17

    וַתִּקְחִיvat/tik/CHIand you tookכְּלֵיke/LEthe jewels ofתִפְאַרְתֵּךְtif/ar/TEKHyour beautyמִזְּהָבִיmiz/ze/ha/VIof my goldוּמִכַּסְפִּיu/mik/kas/PIand of my silverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI had givenלָךְlakhto youוַתַּעֲשִׂי־לָךְvat/ta/a/SI-lakhand made for yourselfצַלְמֵיtsal/MEthe images ofזָכָרza/KHARmaleוַתִּזְנִי־בָם׃vat/tiz/NI-vamand you played the harlot with them

    Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,

18. 18

    וַתִּקְחִיvat/tik/CHIand you tookאֶת־בִּגְדֵיet-big/DEthe garments ofרִקְמָתֵךְrik/ma/TEKHyour embroideryוַתְּכַסִּיםvat/te/khas/SIMand covered themוְשַׁמְנִיve/sham/NIand my oilוּקְטׇרְתִּיu/ke/tor/TIand my incense(נתתי)natatay[נָתַתְּ]na/TATTyou setלִפְנֵיהֶם׃lif/ne/HEMbefore them

    And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.

19. 19

    וְלַחְמִיve/lach/MIand my breadאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתִּיa/SHER-na/TAT/tiwhich I gaveלָךְlakhto youסֹלֶתSO/letfine flourוָשֶׁמֶןva/SHE/menand oilוּדְבַשׁu/de/VASHand honeyהֶאֱכַלְתִּיךְhe/e/khal/TIKHI fed youוּנְתַתִּיהוּu/ne/tat/TI/huand you set itלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themלְרֵיחַle/RE/achfor a scent ofנִיחֹחַni/CHO/achpleasingוַיֶּהִיvay/YE/hiand so it wasנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.

20. 20

    וַתִּקְחִיvat/tik/CHIand you tookאֶת־בָּנַיִךְet-ba/NA/yikhyour sonsוְאֶת־בְּנוֹתַיִךְve/ET-be/no/TA/yikhand your daughtersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיָלַדְתְּya/LADTyou had borneלִיlito meוַתִּזְבָּחִיםvat/tiz/ba/CHIMand these you sacrificedלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֶאֱכוֹלle/e/KHOLto be devouredהַמְעַטham/ATwas it a small matter[מִתַּזְנוּתָיִךְ]׃mit/taz/nu/TA/yikhof your harlotries

    Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,

21. 21

    וַתִּשְׁחֲטִיvat/tish/cha/TIand you slaughteredאֶת־בָּנָיet-ba/NAYmy sonsוַתִּתְּנִיםvat/tit/te/NIMand delivered themבְּהַעֲבִירbe/ha/a/VIRby causing to pass throughאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלָהֶם׃la/HEMfor them

    That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?

22. 22

    וְאֵתve/ETand inכׇּל־תּוֹעֲבֹתַיִךְkol-to/a/vo/TA/yikhall your abominationsוְתַזְנֻתַיִךְve/taz/nu/TA/yikhand your harlotriesלֹאlonot(זכרתי)zakharatay[זָכַרְתְּ]za/KHARTyou have rememberedאֶת־יְמֵיet-ye/MEthe days ofנְעוּרָיִךְne/u/RA/yikhyour youthבִּהְיוֹתֵךְbih/yo/TEKHwhen you wereעֵירֹםe/ROMnakedוְעֶרְיָהve/er/YAand bareמִתְבּוֹסֶסֶתmit/bo/SE/setwallowingבְּדָמֵךְbe/da/MEKHin your bloodהָיִית׃ha/YITyou were

    And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

23. 23

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכׇּל־רָעָתֵךְkol-ra/a/TEKHall your wickednessאוֹיoywoeאוֹיoywoeלָךְlakhto youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)

24. 24

    וַתִּבְנִי־לָךְvat/tiv/NI-lakhthat you built for yourselfגָּבgava moundוַתַּעֲשִׂי־לָךְvat/ta/a/SI-lakhand made yourselfרָמָהra/MAa lofty placeבְּכׇל־רְחוֹב׃be/KHOL-re/CHOVin every street

    That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.

25. 25

    אֶל־כׇּל־רֹאשׁel-kol-roshat every head ofדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhthe wayבָּנִיתba/NITyou have builtרָמָתֵךְra/ma/TEKHyour lofty placeוַתְּתַעֲבִיvat/te/ta/a/VIand you made abominableאֶת־יׇפְיֵךְet-yof/YEKHyour beautyוַתְּפַשְּׂקִיvat/te/fas/se/KIand spreadאֶת־רַגְלַיִךְet-rag/LA/yikhyour legsלְכׇל־עוֹבֵרle/KHOL-o/VERto everyone who passed byוַתַּרְבִּיvat/tar/BIand multipliedאֶת־[תַּזְנוּתָיִךְ]et-taz/nu/ta/YIKHyour harlotries(תזנותך)׃tazanavatakh

    Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.

26. 26

    וַתִּזְנִיvat/tiz/NIand you played the harlotאֶל־בְּנֵי־מִצְרַיִםel-Be/NE-mits/RA/yimwith the sons of Egyptשְׁכֵנַיִךְshe/khe/NA/yikhyour neighborsגִּדְלֵיgid/LEgreat ofבָשָׂרva/SARfleshוַתַּרְבִּיvat/tar/BIand multipliedאֶת־תַּזְנֻתֵךְet-taz/nu/TEKHyour harlotryלְהַכְעִיסֵנִי׃le/hakh/i/SE/nito provoke me

    Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.

27. 27

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנָטִיתִיna/TI/tiI have stretched outיָדִיya/DImy handעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhover youוָאֶגְרַעva/eg/RAand I diminishedחֻקֵּךְchuk/KEKHyour portionוָאֶתְּנֵךְva/et/te/NEKHand delivered youבְּנֶפֶשׁbe/NE/feshto the will ofשֹׂנְאוֹתַיִךְson/o/TA/yikhthose who hate youבְּנוֹתbe/NOTthe daughters ofפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesהַנִּכְלָמוֹתhan/nikh/la/MOTwho are ashamedמִדַּרְכֵּךְmid/dar/KEKHof your wayזִמָּה׃zim/MAlewd

    Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.

28. 28

    וַתִּזְנִיvat/tiz/NIand you played the harlotאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEwith the sons ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaמִבִּלְתִּיmib/bil/TIbecause you were notשׇׂבְעָתֵךְsov/a/TEKHsatisfiedוַתִּזְנִיםvat/tiz/NIMand you played the harlot with themוְגַםve/GAMyetלֹאlonotשָׂבָעַתְּ׃sa/VA/attwere you satisfied

    Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

29. 29

    וַתַּרְבִּיvat/tar/BIand you increasedאֶת־תַּזְנוּתֵךְet-taz/nu/TEKHyour harlotryאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsin the land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanכַּשְׂדִּימָהkaS/DI/mato Chaldeaוְגַם־בְּזֹאתve/GAM-be/ZOTyet even with thisלֹאlonotשָׂבָעַתְּ׃sa/VA/attwere you satisfied

    Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.

30. 30

    מָהmahowאֲמֻלָהa/mu/LAweak isלִבָּתֵךְlib/ba/TEKHyour heartנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODבַּעֲשׂוֹתֵךְba/a/so/TEKHseeing you doאֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהet-kol-EL/leall theseמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofאִשָּׁה־זוֹנָהish/SHA-zo/NAa harlot womanשַׁלָּטֶת׃shal/LA/tetbrazen

    How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

31. 31

    בִּבְנוֹתַיִךְbiv/no/TA/yikhin that you builtגַּבֵּךְgab/BEKHyour moundבְּרֹאשׁbe/ROSHat the head ofכׇּל־דֶּרֶךְkol-DE/rekhevery wayוְרָמָתֵךְve/ra/ma/TEKHand your lofty place(עשיתי)shayatay[עָשִׂית]a/SITyou madeבְּכׇל־רְחוֹבbe/KHOL-re/CHOVin every streetוְלֹא־[הָיִית]ve/LO-ha/YITand you were not(הייתי)hayayatayכַּזּוֹנָהkaz/zo/NAlike a harlotלְקַלֵּסle/kal/LESin that you scornedאֶתְנָן׃et/NANpayment

    In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;

32. 32

    הָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanהַמְּנָאָפֶתham/me/na/A/fetthat commits adulteryתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofאִישָׁהּi/SHAher husbandתִּקַּחtik/KACHtakesאֶת־זָרִים׃et-za/RIMstrangers

    But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!

33. 33

    לְכׇל־זֹנוֹתle/KHOL-zo/NOTto all harlotsיִתְּנוּ־נֵדֶהyit/te/NU-NE/dethey give giftsוְאַתְּve/ATTand youנָתַתְּna/TATTgiveאֶת־נְדָנַיִךְet-ne/da/NA/yikhyour giftsלְכׇל־מְאַהֲבַיִךְle/KHOL-me/a/ha/VA/yikhto all your loversוַתִּשְׁחֳדִיvat/tish/cho/DIand bribeאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלָבוֹאla/VOto comeאֵלַיִךְe/LA/yikhto youמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVfrom every sideבְּתַזְנוּתָיִךְ׃be/taz/nu/TA/yikhfor your harlotries

    They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.

    וַיְהִי־בָךְvay/HI-vakhand so in you isהֵפֶךְHE/fekhthe contraryמִן־הַנָּשִׁיםmin-han/na/SHIMfrom other womenבְּתַזְנוּתַיִךְbe/taz/nu/TA/yikhin your harlotriesוְאַחֲרַיִךְve/a/cha/RA/yikhfor after youלֹאlonotזוּנָּהzun/NAis whoringוּבְתִתֵּךְu/ve/tit/TEKHand in that you giveאֶתְנָןet/NANpaymentוְאֶתְנַןve/et/NANand paymentלֹאlonotנִתַּן־לָךְnit/TAN-lakhis given to youוַתְּהִיvat/te/HItherefore you areלְהֶפֶךְ׃le/HE/fekhthe contrary

    And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.

35. 35

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeזוֹנָהzo/NAO harlotשִׁמְעִיshim/Ihearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָה׃de/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORD

    Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:

36. 36

    כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODיַעַןYA/anbecauseהִשָּׁפֵךְhish/sha/FEKHwas poured outנְחֻשְׁתֵּךְne/chush/TEKHyour shameוַתִּגָּלֶהvat/tig/ga/LEand was uncoveredעֶרְוָתֵךְer/va/TEKHyour nakednessבְּתַזְנוּתַיִךְbe/taz/nu/TA/yikhthrough your harlotriesעַל־מְאַהֲבָיִךְal-me/a/ha/VA/yikhwith your loversוְעַלve/ALand withכׇּל־גִּלּוּלֵיkol-gil/lu/LEall the idols ofתוֹעֲבוֹתַיִךְto/a/vo/TA/yikhyour abominationsוְכִדְמֵיve/khid/MEand because of the blood ofבָנַיִךְva/NA/yikhyour childrenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתְּna/TATTyou gaveלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;

37. 37

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמְקַבֵּץme/kab/BETSwill gatherאֶת־כׇּל־מְאַהֲבַיִךְet-kol-me/a/ha/VA/yikhall your loversאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whomעָרַבְתְּa/RAVTyou took pleasureעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMwith themוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall thatאָהַבְתְּa/HAVTyou have lovedעַלalwithכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall thatשָׂנֵאתsa/NETyou hatedוְקִבַּצְתִּיve/kib/bats/TIand I will gatherאֹתָםo/TAMthemעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVfrom every sideוְגִלֵּיתִיve/gil/le/TIand I will uncoverעֶרְוָתֵךְer/va/TEKHyour nakednessאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְרָאוּve/ra/Uand they shall seeאֶת־כׇּל־עֶרְוָתֵךְ׃et-kol-er/va/TEKHall your nakedness

    Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

38. 38

    וּשְׁפַטְתִּיךְu/she/fat/TIKHand I will judge youמִשְׁפְּטֵיmish/pe/TEas are judgedנֹאֲפוֹתno/a/FOTadulteressesוְשֹׁפְכֹתve/shof/KHOTand women who shedדָּםdambloodוּנְתַתִּיךְu/ne/tat/TIKHand I will give youדַּםdamthe blood ofחֵמָהche/MAfuryוְקִנְאָה׃ve/kin/Aand jealousy

    And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.

39. 39

    וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will deliverאֹתָךְo/TAKHyouבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMinto their handsוְהָרְסוּve/ha/re/SUand they shall throw downגַבֵּךְgab/BEKHyour moundוְנִתְּצוּve/nit/te/TSUand shall break downרָמֹתַיִךְra/mo/TA/yikhyour lofty placesוְהִפְשִׁיטוּve/hif/SHI/tuand they shall stripאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyou ofבְּגָדַיִךְbe/ga/DA/yikhyour clothesוְלָקְחוּve/la/ke/CHUand takeכְּלֵיke/LEthe jewels ofתִפְאַרְתֵּךְtif/ar/TEKHyour beautyוְהִנִּיחוּךְve/hin/ni/CHUKHand leave youעֵירֹםe/ROMnakedוְעֶרְיָה׃ve/er/YAand bare

    And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

40. 40

    וְהֶעֱלוּve/he/e/LUand they will bring upעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youקָהָלka/HALan assemblyוְרָגְמוּve/ra/ge/MUand they will stoneאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyouבָּאָבֶןba/A/venwith stonesוּבִתְּקוּךְu/vit/te/KUKHand cut you to piecesבְּחַרְבוֹתָם׃be/char/vo/TAMwith their swords

    They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

41. 41

    וְשָׂרְפוּve/sa/re/FUand they will burnבָתַּיִךְvat/TA/yikhyour housesבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireוְעָשׂוּ־בָךְve/a/SU-vakhand execute on youשְׁפָטִיםshe/fa/TIMjudgmentsלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוְהִשְׁבַּתִּיךְve/hish/bat/TIKHand I will make you ceaseמִזּוֹנָהmiz/zo/NAfrom playing the harlotוְגַם־אֶתְנַןve/GAM-et/NANand also paymentלֹאlonotתִתְּנִי־עוֹד׃tit/te/NI-odyou shall give again

    And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

42. 42

    וַהֲנִחֹתִיva/ha/ni/cho/TIso I will make restחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TImy furyבָּךְbakhon youוְסָרָהve/SA/raand shall departקִנְאָתִיkin/a/TImy jealousyמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHfrom youוְשָׁקַטְתִּיve/sha/kat/TIand I will be quietוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶכְעַסekh/ASbe angryעוֹד׃odagain

    So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43. 43

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־[זָכַרְתְּ]lo-za/KHARTyou have not remembered(זכרתי)zakharatayאֶת־יְמֵיet-ye/MEthe days ofנְעוּרַיִךְne/u/RA/yikhyour youthוַתִּרְגְּזִי־לִיvat/tir/ge/ZI-libut have raged against meבְּכׇל־אֵלֶּהbe/KHOL-EL/lein all these thingsוְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NItherefore I alsoהֵאhebeholdדַּרְכֵּךְdar/KEKHyour wayבְּרֹאשׁbe/ROSHon your headנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiwill bringנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODוְלֹאve/LOand not(עשיתי)shayatay[עָשִׂית]a/SITyou have committedאֶת־הַזִּמָּהet-haz/zim/MAlewdnessעַלalaboveכׇּל־תּוֹעֲבֹתָיִךְ׃kol-to/a/vo/TA/yikhall your abominations

    Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

44. 44

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdכׇּל־הַמֹּשֵׁלkol-ham/mo/SHELeveryone who uses proverbsעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhagainst youיִמְשֹׁלyim/SHOLshall use a proverbלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכְּאִמָּהֿke/im/MAas the motherבִּתָּהּ׃bit/TAso her daughter

    Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

45. 45

    בַּת־אִמֵּךְbat-im/MEKHthe daughter of your motherאַתְּattyou areגֹּעֶלֶתgo/E/letwho loathedאִישָׁהּi/SHAher husbandוּבָנֶיהָu/va/NE/haand her sonsוַאֲחוֹתva/a/CHOTand the sister ofאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterאַתְּattare youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגָּעֲלוּga/A/luthey loathedאַנְשֵׁיהֶןan/she/HENtheir husbandsוּבְנֵיהֶןu/ve/ne/HENand their sonsאִמְּכֶןim/me/KHENyour motherחִתִּיתChit/TITwas a Hittiteוַאֲבִיכֶןva/a/vi/KHENand your fatherאֱמֹרִי׃E/mo/RIan Amorite

    Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46. 46

    וַאֲחוֹתֵךְva/a/cho/TEKHand your sisterהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAthe elderשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaהִיאhiisוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersהַיּוֹשֶׁבֶתhay/yo/SHE/vetwho dwellעַל־שְׂמֹאולֵךְal-se/mo/LEKHat your left handוַאֲחוֹתֵךְva/a/cho/TEKHand your sisterהַקְּטַנָּהhak/ke/tan/NAthe youngerמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHthan youהַיּוֹשֶׁבֶתhay/yo/SHE/vetwho dwellsמִימִינֵךְmi/mi/NEKHat your right handסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomוּבְנוֹתֶיהָ׃u/ve/no/TE/haand her daughters

    And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47. 47

    וְלֹאve/LOyet notבְדַרְכֵיהֶןve/dar/khe/HENin their waysהָלַכְתְּha/LAKHThave you walkedוּכְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶןu/khe/to/a/vo/te/HENnor according to their abominations(עשיתי)shayatay[עָשִׂית]a/SITdoneכִּמְעַטkim/ATas if littleקָטkatonlyוַתַּשְׁחִתִיvat/tash/CHI/tiyou were more corruptמֵהֵןme/HENthan theyבְּכׇל־דְּרָכָיִךְ׃be/KHOL-de/ra/KHA/yikhin all your ways

    Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

48. 48

    חַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODאִם־עָשְׂתָהim-a/se/TAhas not doneסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterהִיאhisheוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשִׂיתa/SITyou have doneאַתְּattyouוּבְנוֹתָיִךְ׃u/ve/no/TA/yikhand your daughters

    As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

49. 49

    הִנֵּה־זֶהhin/NE-zebehold thisהָיָהha/YAwasעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterגָּאוֹןga/ONprideשִׂבְעַת־לֶחֶםsiv/AT-LE/chemfullness of breadוְשַׁלְוַתve/shal/VATand the ease ofהַשְׁקֵטhash/KETidlenessהָיָהha/YAwereלָהּlain herוְלִבְנוֹתֶיהָve/liv/no/TE/haand in her daughtersוְיַד־עָנִיve/YAD-a/NIand the hand of the poorוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand needyלֹאlonotהֶחֱזִיקָה׃he/che/ZI/kashe did strengthen

    Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50. 50

    וַתִּגְבְּהֶינָהvat/tig/be/HE/naand they were haughtyוַתַּעֲשֶׂינָהvat/ta/a/SE/naand committedתוֹעֵבָהto/e/VAabominationלְפָנָיle/fa/NAYbefore meוָאָסִירva/a/SIRtherefore I took awayאֶתְהֶןet/HENthemכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasרָאִיתִי׃ra/I/tiI saw fit

    And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

51. 51

    וְשֹׁמְרוֹןve/Shom/RONand Samariaכַּחֲצִיka/cha/TSIhalf ofחַטֹּאתַיִךְchat/to/TA/yikhyour sinsלֹאlonotחָטָאָהcha/TA/ahas sinnedוַתַּרְבִּיvat/tar/BIbut you have multipliedאֶת־תּוֹעֲבוֹתַיִךְet-to/a/vo/TA/yikhyour abominationsמֵהֵנָּהme/HEN/namore than theyוַתְּצַדְּקִיvat/te/tsad/de/KIand have justifiedאֶת־[אֲחוֹתַיִךְ]et-a/cho/TA/yikhyour sisters(אחותך)chavatakhבְּכׇל־תּוֹעֲבֹתַיִךְbe/KHOL-to/a/vo/TA/yikhin all your abominationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat(עשיתי)shayatay[עָשִׂית]׃a/SITyou have done

    Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

52. 52

    גַּם־אַתְּgam-attyou alsoשְׂאִיse/Ibearכְלִמָּתֵךְkhe/lim/ma/TEKHyour shameאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoפִּלַּלְתְּpil/LALThave judgedלַאֲחוֹתֵךְla/a/cho/TEKHyour sisterבְּחַטֹּאתַיִךְbe/chat/to/TA/yikhby your sinsאֲשֶׁר־הִתְעַבְתְּa/SHER-hit/AVTthat you committed more abominablyמֵהֵןme/HENthan theyתִּצְדַּקְנָהtits/DAK/nathey are more righteousמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHthan youוְגַם־אַתְּve/GAM-attso you alsoבּוֹשִׁיBO/shibe ashamedוּשְׂאִיu/se/Iand bearכְלִמָּתֵךְkhe/lim/ma/TEKHyour shameבְּצַדֶּקְתֵּךְbe/tsad/dek/TEKHin that you have justifiedאַחְיוֹתֵךְ׃ach/yo/TEKHyour sisters

    Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

53. 53

    וְשַׁבְתִּיve/shav/TIand I will restoreאֶת־שְׁבִיתְהֶןet-she/vi/te/HENtheir captivityאֶת־[שְׁבוּת]et-she/VUTthe captivity of(שבית)shavayatסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersוְאֶת־[שְׁבוּת]ve/ET-she/VUTand the captivity of(שבית)shavayatשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughters(ושבית)vashavayat[וּשְׁבוּת]u/she/VUTand the captivity ofשְׁבִיתַיִךְshe/vi/TA/yikhyour captivesבְּתוֹכָהְנָה׃be/to/KHAH/nain their midst

    When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:

54. 54

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּשְׂאִיtis/Iyou may bearכְלִמָּתֵךְkhe/lim/ma/TEKHyour shameוְנִכְלַמְתְּve/nikh/LAMTand be ashamedמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשִׂיתa/SITyou have doneבְּנַחֲמֵךְbe/na/cha/MEKHin that you are a comfortאֹתָן׃o/TANto them

    That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

55. 55

    וַאֲחוֹתַיִךְva/a/cho/TA/yikhand your sistersסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersתָּשֹׁבְןָta/SHOV/nashall returnלְקַדְמָתָןle/kad/ma/TANto their former stateוְשֹׁמְרוֹןve/Shom/RONand Samariaוּבְנוֹתֶיהָu/ve/no/TE/haand her daughtersתָּשֹׁבְןָta/SHOV/nashall returnלְקַדְמָתָןle/kad/ma/TANto their former stateוְאַתְּve/ATTand youוּבְנוֹתַיִךְu/ve/no/TA/yikhand your daughtersתְּשֻׁבֶינָהte/shu/VE/nashall returnלְקַדְמַתְכֶן׃le/kad/mat/KHENto your former state

    When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

56. 56

    וְלוֹאve/LOfor notהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasסְדֹםSe/DOMSodomאֲחוֹתֵךְa/cho/TEKHyour sisterלִשְׁמוּעָהlish/mu/Aa reportבְּפִיךְbe/FIKHin your mouthבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofגְּאוֹנָיִךְ׃ge/o/NA/yikhyour pride

    For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

57. 57

    בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeתִּגָּלֶהtig/ga/LEwas uncoveredרָעָתֵךְra/a/TEKHyour wickednessכְּמוֹke/MOas atעֵתetthe time ofחֶרְפַּתcher/PATthe reproach ofבְּנוֹת־אֲרָםbe/NOT-a/RAMthe daughters of Syriaוְכׇל־סְבִיבוֹתֶיהָve/KHOL-se/vi/vo/TE/haand all around herבְּנוֹתbe/NOTthe daughters ofפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesהַשָּׁאטוֹתhash/sha/TOTwho despiseאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyouמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVall around

    Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.

58. 58

    אֶת־זִמָּתֵךְet-zim/ma/TEKHyour lewdnessוְאֶת־תּוֹעֲבוֹתַיִךְve/ET-to/a/vo/TA/yikhand your abominationsאַתְּattyouנְשָׂאתִיםne/sa/TIMhave borne themנְאֻםne/UMsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.

59. 59

    כִּיkibecauseכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGOD(ועשית)vshayat[וְעָשִׂיתִי]ve/a/SI/tiand I will dealאוֹתָךְo/TAKHwith youכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשִׂיתa/SITyou have doneאֲשֶׁר־בָּזִיתa/SHER-ba/ZITwho have despisedאָלָהa/LAthe oathלְהָפֵרle/ha/FERto breakבְּרִית׃be/RITthe covenant

    For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

60. 60

    וְזָכַרְתִּיve/za/khar/TInevertheless I will rememberאֲנִיa/NIIאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantאוֹתָךְo/TAKHwith youבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofנְעוּרָיִךְne/u/RA/yikhyour youthוַהֲקִימוֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will raise upלָךְlakhwith youבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeverlasting

    Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

61. 61

    וְזָכַרְתְּve/za/KHARTand you will rememberאֶת־דְּרָכַיִךְet-de/ra/KHA/yikhyour waysוְנִכְלַמְתְּve/nikh/LAMTand be ashamedבְּקַחְתֵּךְbe/kach/TEKHwhen you receiveאֶת־אֲחוֹתַיִךְet-a/cho/TA/yikhyour sistersהַגְּדֹלוֹתhag/ge/do/LOTelderמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHthan youאֶל־הַקְּטַנּוֹתel-hak/ke/tan/NOTand your youngerמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHthan youוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will giveאֶתְהֶןet/HENthemלָךְlakhto youלְבָנוֹתle/va/NOTfor daughtersוְלֹאve/LObut notמִבְּרִיתֵךְ׃mib/be/ri/TEKHby your covenant

    Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.

62. 62

    וַהֲקִימֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will establishאֲנִיa/NIIאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantאִתָּךְit/TAKHwith youוְיָדַעַתְּve/ya/DA/attand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:

63. 63

    That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.
