   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   בֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manהִנָּבֵאhin/na/VEprophesyאֶל־נְבִיאֵיel-ne/vi/Eagainst the prophets ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַנִּבָּאִיםhan/nib/ba/IMwho prophesyוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayלִנְבִיאֵיlin/vi/Eto the prophets ofמִלִּבָּםmil/lib/BAMfrom their own heartשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָה׃de/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORD

   Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהוֹיhoywoeעַל־הַנְּבִיאִיםal-han/ne/vi/IMon the prophetsהַנְּבָלִיםhan/ne/va/LIMthe foolsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwalkאַחַרa/CHARafterרוּחָםru/CHAMtheir own spiritוּלְבִלְתִּיu/le/vil/TIand have notרָאוּ׃ra/Useen

   Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

   כְּשֻׁעָלִיםke/shu/a/LIMlike foxesבׇּחֳרָבוֹתbo/cho/ra/VOTin the ruinsנְבִיאֶיךָne/vi/E/khayour prophetsיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelהָיוּ׃ha/YUhave been

   O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

   לֹאlonotעֲלִיתֶםa/li/TEMyou have gone upבַּפְּרָצוֹתbap/pe/ra/TSOTinto the breachesוַתִּגְדְּרוּvat/tig/de/RUor builtגָדֵרga/DERa wallעַל־בֵּיתal-betfor the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלַעֲמֹדla/a/MODto standבַּמִּלְחָמָהbam/mil/cha/MAin the battleבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

   חָזוּCHA/zuthey have seenשָׁוְאshavfalsehoodוְקֶסֶםve/KE/semand divinationכָּזָבka/ZAVa lieהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwho sayנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDלֹאlonotשְׁלָחָםshe/la/CHAMhas sent themוְיִחֲלוּve/yi/cha/LUyet they hopeלְקַיֵּםle/kay/YEMto confirmדָּבָר׃da/VARthe word

   They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

   הֲלוֹאha/LOhave notמַחֲזֵה־שָׁוְאma/cha/ZE-shava false visionחֲזִיתֶםcha/zi/TEMyou have seenוּמִקְסַםu/mik/SAMand a divination ofכָּזָבka/ZAVa lieאֲמַרְתֶּםa/mar/TEMspokenוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand you sayנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iלֹאlonotדִבַּרְתִּי׃dib/BAR/tihave spoken

   Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODיַעַןYA/anbecauseדַּבֶּרְכֶםdab/ber/KHEMyou have spokenשָׁוְאshavfalsehoodוַחֲזִיתֶםva/cha/zi/TEMand you have seenכָּזָבka/ZAVa lieלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMagainst youנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

   Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

   וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand shall beיָדִיya/DImy handאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִיםel-han/ne/vi/IMagainst the prophetsהַחֹזִיםha/cho/ZIMwho seeשָׁוְאshavfalsehoodוְהַקֹּסְמִיםve/hak/kos/MIMand divineכָּזָבka/ZAVa lieבְּסוֹדbe/SODin the counsel ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleלֹא־יִהְיוּlo-yih/YUthey shall not beוּבִכְתָבu/vikh/TAVnor in the register ofבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵלbet-Yis/ra/ELthe house of Israelלֹאlonotיִכָּתֵבוּyik/ka/TE/vube writtenוְאֶל־אַדְמַתve/EL-ad/MATnor into the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלֹאlonotיָבֹאוּya/VO/uenterוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

   And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseוּבְיַעַןu/ve/YA/aneven becauseהִטְעוּhit/Uthey have misledאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְהוּאve/HUand heבֹּנֶהbo/NEbuildsחַיִץCHA/yitsa wallוְהִנָּםve/hin/NAMand behold theyטָחִיםta/CHIMplasterאֹתוֹo/TOitתָּפֵל׃ta/FELwith whitewash

    Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

11. 11

    אֱמֹרe/MORsayאֶל־טָחֵיel-ta/CHEto those who plasterתָפֵלta/FELwhitewashוְיִפֹּלve/yip/POLthat it shall fallהָיָהha/YAthere will beגֶּשֶׁםGE/shema rainשׁוֹטֵףsho/TEFoverflowingוְאַתֵּנָהve/at/TE/naand youאַבְנֵיav/NEO stones ofאֶלְגָּבִישׁel/ga/VISHhailתִּפֹּלְנָהtip/POL/nashall fallוְרוּחַve/RU/achand a wind ofסְעָרוֹתse/a/ROTstormsתְּבַקֵּעַ׃te/vak/KE/ashall burst

    Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנָפַלna/FALwhen has fallenהַקִּירhak/KIRthe wallהֲלוֹאha/LOwill notיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit be saidאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאַיֵּהay/YEwhere isהַטִּיחַhat/TI/achthe daubingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichטַחְתֶּם׃tach/TEMyou plastered

    Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

13. 13

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODוּבִקַּעְתִּיu/vik/ka/TII will make burst outרוּחַ־סְעָרוֹתRU/ach-se/a/ROTa stormy windבַּחֲמָתִיba/cha/ma/TIin my furyוְגֶשֶׁםve/GE/shemand rainשֹׁטֵףsho/TEFoverflowingבְּאַפִּיbe/ap/PIin my angerיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beוְאַבְנֵיve/av/NEand stones ofאֶלְגָּבִישׁel/ga/VISHhailבְּחֵמָהbe/che/MAin furyלְכָלָה׃le/kha/LAto consume it

    Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

14. 14

    וְהָרַסְתִּיve/ha/ras/TIso I will break downאֶת־הַקִּירet-hak/KIRthe wallאֲשֶׁר־טַחְתֶּםa/SHER-tach/TEMwhich you plasteredתָּפֵלta/FELwith whitewashוְהִגַּעְתִּיהוּve/hig/ga/TI/huand bring it downאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsto the groundוְנִגְלָהve/nig/LAso that shall be laid bareיְסֹדוֹye/so/DOits foundationוְנָפְלָהve/na/fe/LAand it shall fallוּכְלִיתֶםu/khe/li/TEMand you shall be consumedבְּתוֹכָהּbe/to/KHAin its midstוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

15. 15

    וְכִלֵּיתִיve/khil/le/TIthus I will spendאֶת־חֲמָתִיet-cha/ma/TImy furyבַּקִּירbak/KIRon the wallוּבַטָּחִיםu/vat/ta/CHIMand on those who plasteredאֹתוֹo/TOitתָּפֵלta/FELwith whitewashוְאֹמַרve/o/MARand I will sayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵיןenis no moreהַקִּירhak/KIRthe wallוְאֵיןve/ENnorהַטָּחִיםhat/ta/CHIMthose who plasteredאֹתוֹ׃o/TOit

    Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;

16. 16

    נְבִיאֵיne/vi/Ethe prophets ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַנִּבְּאִיםhan/nib/be/IMwho prophesyאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםel-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimconcerning Jerusalemוְהַחֹזִיםve/ha/cho/ZIMand who seeלָהּlafor herחֲזוֹןcha/ZONvisions ofשָׁלֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noשָׁלֹםsha/LOMpeaceנְאֻםne/UMsaysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיֱהֹוִה׃AdonaiGOD

    To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

17. 17

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manשִׂיםsimsetפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khayour faceאֶל־בְּנוֹתel-be/NOTagainst the daughters ofעַמְּךָam/me/KHAyour peopleהַמִּתְנַבְּאוֹתham/mit/nab/be/OTwho prophesyמִלִּבְּהֶןmil/lib/be/HENfrom their own heartוְהִנָּבֵאve/hin/na/VEand prophesyעֲלֵיהֶן׃a/le/HENagainst them

    Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

18. 18

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהוֹיhoywoeלִמְתַפְּרוֹתlim/tap/pe/ROTto the women who sewכְּסָתוֹתke/sa/TOTbandsעַלalonכׇּל־אַצִּילֵיkol-ats/tsi/LEall the joints ofיָדַיya/DAYarmsוְעֹשׂוֹתve/o/SOTand makeהַמִּסְפָּחוֹתham/mis/pa/CHOTveilsעַל־רֹאשׁal-roshfor the head ofכׇּל־קוֹמָהkol-ko/MAevery statureלְצוֹדֵדle/tso/DEDto huntנְפָשׁוֹתne/fa/SHOTsoulsהַנְּפָשׁוֹתhan/ne/fa/SHOTthe soulsתְּצוֹדֵדְנָהte/tso/DED/nawill you huntלְעַמִּיle/am/MIof my peopleוּנְפָשׁוֹתu/ne/fa/SHOTand soulsלָכֶנָהla/KHE/nafor yourselvesתְחַיֶּינָה׃te/chay/YE/nawill you keep alive

    And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

19. 19

    וַתְּחַלֶּלְנָהvat/te/chal/LEL/naand will you profaneאֹתִיo/TImeאֶל־עַמִּיel-am/MIamong my peopleבְּשַׁעֲלֵיbe/sha/a/LEfor handfuls ofשְׂעֹרִיםse/o/RIMbarleyוּבִפְתוֹתֵיu/vif/TO/teand for pieces ofלֶחֶםLE/chembreadלְהָמִיתle/ha/MITto put to deathנְפָשׁוֹתne/fa/SHOTsoulsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תְמוּתֶנָהlo-te/mu/TE/nashould not dieוּלְחַיּוֹתu/le/chay/YOTand to keep aliveנְפָשׁוֹתne/fa/SHOTsoulsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תִחְיֶינָהlo-tich/YE/nashould not liveבְּכַזֶּבְכֶםbe/khaz/zev/KHEMby your lyingלְעַמִּיle/am/MIto my peopleשֹׁמְעֵיshom/Ewho listen toכָזָב׃kha/ZAVlies

    And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

20. 20

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe LordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iאֶל־כִּסְּתוֹתֵיכֶנָהel-kis/se/to/te/KHE/naagainst your bandsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichאַתֵּנָהat/te/NAyouמְצֹדְדוֹתme/tsod/DOThuntשָׁםshamthereאֶת־הַנְּפָשׁוֹתet-han/ne/fa/SHOTthe soulsלְפֹרְחוֹתle/for/CHOTto fly awayוְקָרַעְתִּיve/ka/ra/TIand I will tearאֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵעַלme/ALfromזְרוֹעֹתֵיכֶםze/ro/o/te/KHEMyour armsוְשִׁלַּחְתִּיve/shil/lach/TIand let goאֶת־הַנְּפָשׁוֹתet-han/ne/fa/SHOTthe soulsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמְצֹדְדוֹתme/tsod/DOThuntאֶת־נְפָשִׁיםet-ne/fa/SHIMsoulsלְפֹרְחֹת׃le/for/CHOTto fly away

    Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

21. 21

    וְקָרַעְתִּיve/ka/ra/TIand I will tearאֶת־מִסְפְּחֹתֵיכֶםet-mis/pe/cho/te/KHEMyour veilsוְהִצַּלְתִּיve/hits/tsal/TIand I will deliverאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleמִיֶּדְכֶןmiy/yed/KHENfrom your handsוְלֹא־יִהְיוּve/LO-yih/YUand they shall not beעוֹדodagainבְּיֶדְכֶןbe/yed/KHENin your handsלִמְצוּדָהlim/tsu/DAto be huntedוִידַעְתֶּןvi/da/TENand you will knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

22. 22

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseהַכְאוֹתhakh/OTyou have disheartenedלֵב־צַדִּיקlev-tsad/DIKthe heart of the righteousשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerwith liesוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iלֹאlonotהִכְאַבְתִּיוhikh/av/TIVmade him sadוּלְחַזֵּקu/le/chaz/ZEKand strengthenedיְדֵיye/DEthe hands ofרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedלְבִלְתִּי־שׁוּבle/vil/TI-shuvthat he should not returnמִדַּרְכּוֹmid/dar/KOfrom his wayהָרָעha/RAwickedלְהַחֲיֹתוֹ׃le/ha/cha/yo/TOto save his life

    Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

23. 23

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשָׁוְאshavfalsehoodלֹאlonotתֶחֱזֶינָהte/che/ZE/nayou shall seeוְקֶסֶםve/KE/semand divinationלֹא־תִקְסַמְנָהlo-tik/SAM/nayou shall not practiceעוֹדodagainוְהִצַּלְתִּיve/hits/tsal/TIand I will deliverאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleמִיֶּדְכֶןmiy/yed/KHENfrom your handsוִידַעְתֶּןvi/da/TENand you will knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
