    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesבֹּאcomeאֶל־פַּרְעֹהto Pharaohוְדִבַּרְתָּand you will speakאֵלָיוto himכֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofהָעִבְרִיםthe Hebrewsשַׁלַּחlet goאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleוְיַעַבְדֻנִי׃so they may serve me

    Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

    כִּיforאִם־מָאֵןif refuseאַתָּהyouלְשַׁלֵּחַto let goוְעוֹדְךָand still youמַחֲזִיקholdבָּם׃in them

    For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,

    הִנֵּהbeholdיַד־יְהֹוָהhand of the LORDהוֹיָהwill beבְּמִקְנְךָupon your livestockאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּשָּׂדֶהin the fieldבַּסּוּסִיםupon the horsesבַּחֲמֹרִיםon the donkeysבַּגְּמַלִּיםon the camelsבַּבָּקָרon the cattleוּבַצֹּאןand on the sheepדֶּבֶרa pestilenceכָּבֵדheavyמְאֹד׃exceedingly

    Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.

    וְהִפְלָהand will make a distinctionיְהֹוָהthe LORDבֵּיןbetweenמִקְנֵהthe cattle ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוּבֵיןand betweenמִקְנֵהthe cattle ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוְלֹאand notיָמוּתshall dieמִכׇּל־לִבְנֵיof all that to the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelדָּבָר׃a word

    And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.

    וַיָּשֶׂםand appointedיְהֹוָהthe LORDמוֹעֵדa set timeלֵאמֹרsayingמָחָרon the morrowיַעֲשֶׂהshall He doיְהֹוָהthe LORDהַדָּבָרthe thingהַזֶּהthisבָּאָרֶץ׃in the land

    And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

    וַיַּעַשׂand didיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־הַדָּבָרthe thingהַזֶּהthisמִמׇּחֳרָתon the morrowוַיָּמׇתand diedכֹּלallמִקְנֵהthe cattle ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוּמִמִּקְנֵהbut of the cattle ofבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלthe sons of Israelלֹא־מֵתnot diedאֶחָד׃one

    And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

    וַיִּשְׁלַחand sentפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְהִנֵּהand beholdלֹא־מֵתnot diedמִמִּקְנֵהof the cattle ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelעַד־אֶחָדeven oneוַיִּכְבַּדand was hardenedלֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְלֹאand notשִׁלַּחdid he let goאֶת־הָעָם׃the people

    And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוְאֶל־אַהֲרֹןand to Aaronקְחוּtakeלָכֶםto youמְלֹאhandfuls ofחׇפְנֵיכֶםyour handsפִּיחַashes ofכִּבְשָׁןa furnaceוּזְרָקוֹand let sprinkle itמֹשֶׁהMosesהַשָּׁמַיְמָהunto the heavensלְעֵינֵיin the eyes ofפַרְעֹה׃Pharaoh

    And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

    וְהָיָהand it shall becomeלְאָבָקsmall dustעַלuponכׇּל־אֶרֶץall land ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוְהָיָהand it shall becomeעַל־הָאָדָםupon the manוְעַל־הַבְּהֵמָהand upon the livestockלִשְׁחִיןa boilפֹּרֵחַbreaking outאֲבַעְבֻּעֹתwith blainsבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt

    And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

    וַיִּקְחוּand they tookאֶת־פִּיחַthe ashes ofהַכִּבְשָׁןthe furnaceוַיַּעַמְדוּand stoodלִפְנֵיbeforeפַרְעֹהPharaohוַיִּזְרֹקand he sprinkledאֹתוֹitמֹשֶׁהMosesהַשָּׁמָיְמָהunto the heavensוַיְהִיand there wasשְׁחִיןa boilאֲבַעְבֻּעֹתwith blainsפֹּרֵחַbreaking outבָּאָדָםupon manוּבַבְּהֵמָה׃and upon the beast

    And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.

    וְלֹא־יָכְלוּand could notהַחַרְטֻמִּיםthe magiciansלַעֲמֹדto standלִפְנֵיbeforeמֹשֶׁהMosesמִפְּנֵיbecause ofהַשְּׁחִיןthe boilsכִּי־הָיָהbecause wasהַשְּׁחִיןthe boilsבַּחַרְטֻמִּםupon the magiciansוּבְכׇל־מִצְרָיִם׃and in all Egypt

    And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

    וַיְחַזֵּקand hardenedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־לֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְלֹאand notשָׁמַעheardאֲלֵהֶםunto themכַּאֲשֶׁרasדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁה׃to Moses

    And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

  13. 13

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesהַשְׁכֵּםrise earlyבַּבֹּקֶרin the morningוְהִתְיַצֵּבand present yourselfלִפְנֵיbeforeפַרְעֹהPharaohוְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֵלָיוto himכֹּה־אָמַרthus saysיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofהָעִבְרִיםthe Hebrewsשַׁלַּחlet goאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleוְיַעַבְדֻנִי׃so they may serve me

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

  14. 14

    כִּיforבַּפַּעַםat the timeהַזֹּאתthisאֲנִיIשֹׁלֵחַwill sendאֶת־כׇּל־מַגֵּפֹתַיall my plaguesאֶל־לִבְּךָto your heartוּבַעֲבָדֶיךָand upon your servantsוּבְעַמֶּךָand upon your peopleבַּעֲבוּרthatתֵּדַעyou knowכִּיthatאֵיןthere is noneכָּמֹנִיlike unto meבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃in all the land

    For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

  15. 15

    כִּיforעַתָּהnowשָׁלַחְתִּיI sentאֶת־יָדִיmy handוָאַךְand I smiteאוֹתְךָyouוְאֶת־עַמְּךָand your peopleבַּדָּבֶרwith the pestilenceוַתִּכָּחֵדand you were cut offמִן־הָאָרֶץ׃from the land

    For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

    וְאוּלָםneverthelessבַּעֲבוּרfor this causeזֹאתthisהֶעֱמַדְתִּיךָI have raised you upבַּעֲבוּרthatהַרְאֹתְךָshow youאֶת־כֹּחִיmy powerוּלְמַעַןand thatסַפֵּרmay be declaredשְׁמִיmy nameבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃in all the land

    And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

  17. 17

    עוֹדְךָstill youמִסְתּוֹלֵלexalt yourselfבְּעַמִּיagainst my peopleלְבִלְתִּיto notשַׁלְּחָם׃to let them go

    As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

  18. 18

    הִנְנִיbehold Iמַמְטִירwill rainכָּעֵתabout this timeמָחָרon the morrowבָּרָדhailכָּבֵדheavyמְאֹדexceedinglyאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־הָיָהnot wasכָמֹהוּlike itבְּמִצְרַיִםin Egyptלְמִן־הַיּוֹםfrom the dayהִוָּסְדָהֿit was foundedוְעַד־עָתָּה׃and until now

    Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.

  19. 19

    וְעַתָּהand nowשְׁלַחsendהָעֵזgatherאֶת־מִקְנְךָyour livestockוְאֵתandכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall thatלְךָfor youבַּשָּׂדֶהin the fieldכׇּל־הָאָדָםall the manוְהַבְּהֵמָהand the livestockאֲשֶׁר־יִמָּצֵאwhich shall be foundבַשָּׂדֶהin the fieldוְלֹאand notיֵאָסֵףbroughtהַבַּיְתָהhomeוְיָרַדand shall come downעֲלֵהֶםupon themהַבָּרָדthe hailוָמֵתוּ׃and they shall die

    Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.

    הַיָּרֵאthe one fearingאֶת־דְּבַרthe word ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDמֵעַבְדֵיof the servants ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohהֵנִיסmade fleeאֶת־עֲבָדָיוhis servantsוְאֶת־מִקְנֵהוּand his cattleאֶל־הַבָּתִּים׃to the houses

    He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:

  21. 21

    וַאֲשֶׁרand he thatלֹא־שָׂםregarded notלִבּוֹhis heartאֶל־דְּבַרto the word ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַיַּעֲזֹבand leftאֶת־עֲבָדָיוhis servantsוְאֶת־מִקְנֵהוּand his cattleבַּשָּׂדֶה׃in the field

    And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.

  22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesנְטֵהstretch outאֶת־יָדְךָyour handעַל־הַשָּׁמַיִםupon the heavensוִיהִיthat there may beבָרָדhailבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptעַל־הָאָדָםupon manוְעַל־הַבְּהֵמָהand upon the livestockוְעַלand uponכׇּל־עֵשֶׂבall herbהַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.

  23. 23

    וַיֵּטand stretched forthמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶת־מַטֵּהוּhis staffעַל־הַשָּׁמַיִםupon the heavensוַיהֹוָהand the LORDנָתַןsentקֹלֹתthunderוּבָרָדand hailוַתִּהֲלַךְand ran downאֵשׁfireאָרְצָהto the earthוַיַּמְטֵרand rainedיְהֹוָהthe LORDבָּרָדhailעַל־אֶרֶץupon the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt

    And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

  24. 24

    וַיְהִיand there wasבָרָדhailוְאֵשׁand fireמִתְלַקַּחַתmingledבְּתוֹךְwithהַבָּרָדthe hailכָּבֵדheavyמְאֹדexceedinglyאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־הָיָהnot wasכָמֹהוּlike itבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptמֵאָזsinceהָיְתָהit becameלְגוֹי׃a nation

    So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

  25. 25

    וַיַּךְand smoteהַבָּרָדthe hailבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall thatבַּשָּׂדֶהin the fieldמֵאָדָםfrom manוְעַד־בְּהֵמָהand unto beastוְאֵתandכׇּל־עֵשֶׂבall herbהַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldהִכָּהsmoteהַבָּרָדthe hailוְאֶת־כׇּל־עֵץand all a treeהַשָּׂדֶהthe fieldשִׁבֵּר׃broke

    And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

  26. 26

    רַקonlyבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofגֹּשֶׁןGoshenאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםwhich thereבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלֹאnotהָיָהwasבָּרָד׃hail

    Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

  27. 27

    וַיִּשְׁלַחand sentפַּרְעֹהPharaohוַיִּקְרָאand calledלְמֹשֶׁהfor Mosesוּלְאַהֲרֹןand for Aaronוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵהֶםunto themחָטָאתִיI have sinnedהַפָּעַםthis timeיְהֹוָהthe LORDהַצַּדִּיקthe righteousוַאֲנִיand Iוְעַמִּיand my peopleהָרְשָׁעִים׃the wicked

    And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

  28. 28

    הַעְתִּירוּentreatאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDוְרַבfor it is enoughמִהְיֹתof there beingקֹלֹתthunderings ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוּבָרָדand hailוַאֲשַׁלְּחָהand I will let goאֶתְכֶםyouוְלֹאand notתֹסִפוּןyou shall continueלַעֲמֹד׃to stay

    Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

  29. 29

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָיוto himמֹשֶׁהMosesכְּצֵאתִיwhen I am gone out ofאֶת־הָעִירthe cityאֶפְרֹשׂI shall spread outאֶת־כַּפַּיmy handsאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDהַקֹּלוֹתthe thunderיֶחְדָּלוּןthey will ceaseוְהַבָּרָדand the hailלֹאnotיִהְיֶה־עוֹדshall be any moreלְמַעַןin order thatתֵּדַעyou knowכִּיthatלַיהֹוָהto the LORDהָאָרֶץ׃the earth

    And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD's.

  30. 30

    וְאַתָּהbut youוַעֲבָדֶיךָand your servantsיָדַעְתִּיI knowכִּיthatטֶרֶםbeforeתִּירְאוּןyou will fearמִפְּנֵיbecause ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהִים׃God

    But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.

  31. 31

    וְהַפִּשְׁתָּהand the flaxוְהַשְּׂעֹרָהand the barleyנֻכָּתָהwere smittenכִּיforהַשְּׂעֹרָהthe barleyאָבִיבwas in the earוְהַפִּשְׁתָּהand the flaxגִּבְעֹל׃was in bud

    And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.

  32. 32

    וְהַחִטָּהand the wheatוְהַכֻּסֶּמֶתand the speltלֹאnotנֻכּוּwere smittenכִּיforאֲפִילֹתare lateהֵנָּה׃they

    But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.

  33. 33

    וַיֵּצֵאand went outמֹשֶׁהMosesמֵעִםfromפַּרְעֹהPharaohאֶת־הָעִירout of the cityוַיִּפְרֹשׂand spread outכַּפָּיוhis handsאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDוַיַּחְדְּלוּand ceasedהַקֹּלוֹתthe thunderוְהַבָּרָדand the hailוּמָטָרand rainלֹא־נִתַּךְwas not pouredאָרְצָה׃to the earth

    And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.

  34. 34

    וַיַּרְאand sawפַּרְעֹהPharaohכִּי־חָדַלbecause ceasedהַמָּטָרthe rainוְהַבָּרָדand the hailוְהַקֹּלֹתand the thunderוַיֹּסֶףand continuedלַחֲטֹאto sinוַיַּכְבֵּדand hardenedלִבּוֹhis heartהוּאheוַעֲבָדָיו׃and his servants

    And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

  35. 35

    וַיֶּחֱזַקand was hardenedלֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְלֹאand notשִׁלַּחdid he let goאֶת־בְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelכַּאֲשֶׁרasדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃in the hand of Moses

    And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
