Exodus 7 שְׁמוֹת פרק ז׳

1. 1

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto MosesרְאֵהbeholdנְתַתִּיךָI have made youאֱלֹהִיםGodלְפַרְעֹהfor Pharaohוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronאָחִיךָyour brotherיִהְיֶהshall beנְבִיאֶךָ׃your prophet

   And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

2. 2

   אַתָּהyouתְדַבֵּרshall speakאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall thatאֲצַוֶּךָּI will command youוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronאָחִיךָyour brotherיְדַבֵּרshall speakאֶל־פַּרְעֹהto Pharaohוְשִׁלַּחthat he sendאֶת־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלthe sons of Israelמֵאַרְצוֹ׃from his land

   Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

3. 3

   וַאֲנִיand IאַקְשֶׁהI will hardenאֶת־לֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְהִרְבֵּיתִיand I will multiplyאֶת־אֹתֹתַיmy signsוְאֶת־מוֹפְתַיand my wondersבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt

   And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4. 4

   וְלֹא־יִשְׁמַעand shall not hearkenאֲלֵכֶםto youפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְנָתַתִּיand I will giveאֶת־יָדִיmy handבְּמִצְרָיִםin Egyptוְהוֹצֵאתִיand I will bring outאֶת־צִבְאֹתַיmy hostsאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלthe sons of Israelמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptבִּשְׁפָטִיםwith judgmentsגְּדֹלִים׃great

   But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5. 5

   וְיָדְעוּand they shall knowמִצְרַיִםEgyptכִּי־אֲנִיthat I amיְהֹוָהthe LORDבִּנְטֹתִיwhen I stretch outאֶת־יָדִיmy handעַל־מִצְרָיִםupon Egyptוְהוֹצֵאתִיand I will bring outאֶת־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלthe sons of Israelמִתּוֹכָם׃from among them

   And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

6. 6

   וַיַּעַשׂand didמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֹתָםthemכֵּןthusעָשׂוּ׃they did

   And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

   וּמֹשֶׁהand Mosesבֶּן־שְׁמֹנִיםson of eightyשָׁנָהyearsוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronבֶּן־שָׁלֹשׁson of threeוּשְׁמֹנִיםand eightyשָׁנָהyearsבְּדַבְּרָםwhen they spokeאֶל־פַּרְעֹה׃to Pharaoh

   And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוְאֶל־אַהֲרֹןand Aaronלֵאמֹר׃saying

   And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

9. 9

   כִּיwhenיְדַבֵּרshall speakאֲלֵכֶםto youפַּרְעֹהPharaohלֵאמֹרsayingתְּנוּshowלָכֶםfor youמוֹפֵתa wonderוְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֶל־אַהֲרֹןto Aaronקַחtakeאֶת־מַטְּךָyour staffוְהַשְׁלֵךְand cast it downלִפְנֵי־פַרְעֹהbefore Pharaohיְהִיit shall becomeלְתַנִּין׃a serpent

   When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

10. 10

    וַיָּבֹאand cameמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronאֶל־פַּרְעֹהto Pharaohוַיַּעֲשׂוּand they didכֵןthusכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַיַּשְׁלֵךְand castאַהֲרֹןAaronאֶת־מַטֵּהוּhis staffלִפְנֵיbeforeפַרְעֹהPharaohוְלִפְנֵיand beforeעֲבָדָיוhis servantsוַיְהִיand it becameלְתַנִּין׃a serpent

    And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

11. 11

    וַיִּקְרָאand calledגַּם־פַּרְעֹהalso Pharaohלַחֲכָמִיםthe wise menוְלַמְכַשְּׁפִיםand the sorcerersוַיַּעֲשׂוּand they didגַם־הֵםthey alsoחַרְטֻמֵּיthe magicians ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptבְּלַהֲטֵיהֶםwith their enchantmentsכֵּן׃thus

    Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.

12. 12

    וַיַּשְׁלִיכוּand they castאִישׁevery manמַטֵּהוּhis staffוַיִּהְיוּand they becameלְתַנִּינִםserpentsוַיִּבְלַעand it swallowed upמַטֵּה־אַהֲרֹןthe staff of Aaronאֶת־מַטֹּתָם׃their staffs

    For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

13. 13

    וַיֶּחֱזַקand was hardenedלֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohוְלֹאand notשָׁמַעheardאֲלֵהֶםunto themכַּאֲשֶׁרasדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

14. 14

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesכָּבֵדis hardenedלֵבthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohמֵאֵןhe refusesלְשַׁלַּחto let goהָעָם׃the people

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

15. 15

    לֵךְgoאֶל־פַּרְעֹהto Pharaohבַּבֹּקֶרin the morningהִנֵּהbeholdיֹצֵאhe goes outהַמַּיְמָהto the waterוְנִצַּבְתָּand you will standלִקְרָאתוֹto meet himעַל־שְׂפַתupon the brink ofהַיְאֹרthe Riverוְהַמַּטֶּהand the staffאֲשֶׁר־נֶהְפַּךְwhich was turned toלְנָחָשׁa snakeתִּקַּחyou shall takeבְּיָדֶךָ׃in your hand

    Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

16. 16

    וְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֵלָיוto himיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofהָעִבְרִיםthe Hebrewsשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֵלֶיךָto youלֵאמֹרsayingשַׁלַּחlet goאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleוְיַעַבְדֻנִיso they may serve meבַּמִּדְבָּרin the wildernessוְהִנֵּהand beholdלֹא־שָׁמַעְתָּyou have not hearkenedעַד־כֹּה׃until now

    And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.

17. 17

    כֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּזֹאתin thisתֵּדַעyou knowכִּיthatאֲנִיIיְהֹוָהthe LORDהִנֵּהbeholdאָנֹכִיIמַכֶּהwill smiteבַּמַּטֶּהwith the staffאֲשֶׁר־בְּיָדִיthat is in my handעַל־הַמַּיִםupon the watersאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּיְאֹרare in the Riverוְנֶהֶפְכוּand they shall be turnedלְדָם׃for blood

    Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18. 18

    וְהַדָּגָהand the fishאֲשֶׁר־בַּיְאֹרthat is in the Riverתָּמוּתshall dieוּבָאַשׁand it will stinkהַיְאֹרthe Riverוְנִלְאוּand shall loatheמִצְרַיִםEgyptלִשְׁתּוֹתto drinkמַיִםwaterמִן־הַיְאֹר׃from the River

    And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesאֱמֹרsayאֶל־אַהֲרֹןto Aaronקַחtakeמַטְּךָyour staffוּנְטֵה־יָדְךָand stretch out your handעַל־מֵימֵיupon the waters ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptעַל־נַהֲרֹתָםupon their riversעַל־יְאֹרֵיהֶםupon their canalsוְעַל־אַגְמֵיהֶםand upon their pondsוְעַלand uponכׇּל־מִקְוֵהall pools ofמֵימֵיהֶםtheir watersוְיִהְיוּ־דָםthat they may become bloodוְהָיָהand there shall beדָםbloodבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptוּבָעֵצִיםboth in vessels of woodוּבָאֲבָנִים׃and in vessels of stone

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

20. 20

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵןand did thusמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַיָּרֶםand he lifted upבַּמַּטֶּהwith the staffוַיַּךְand he smoteאֶת־הַמַּיִםthe watersאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּיְאֹרwere in the Riverלְעֵינֵיin the eyes ofפַרְעֹהPharaohוּלְעֵינֵיand in the eyes ofעֲבָדָיוhis servantsוַיֵּהָפְכוּand were turnedכׇּל־הַמַּיִםall the watersאֲשֶׁר־בַּיְאֹרthat were in the Riverלְדָם׃for blood

    And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

21. 21

    וְהַדָּגָהand the fishאֲשֶׁר־בַּיְאֹרwhich was in the riverמֵתָהdiedוַיִּבְאַשׁand it stankהַיְאֹרthe Riverוְלֹא־יָכְלוּand could notמִצְרַיִםEgyptלִשְׁתּוֹתto drinkמַיִםwaterמִן־הַיְאֹרfrom the Riverוַיְהִיand there wasהַדָּםthe bloodבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץin all land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Egypt

    And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22. 22

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵןand they did thusחַרְטֻמֵּיthe magicians ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptבְּלָטֵיהֶםwith their enchantmentsוַיֶּחֱזַקand was hardenedלֵב־פַּרְעֹהPharaoh's heartוְלֹא־שָׁמַעand not heardאֲלֵהֶםunto themכַּאֲשֶׁרasדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.

23. 23

    וַיִּפֶןand turnedפַּרְעֹהPharaohוַיָּבֹאand cameאֶל־בֵּיתוֹto his houseוְלֹא־שָׁתand neither did he setלִבּוֹhis heartגַּם־לָזֹאת׃also to this

    And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.

24. 24

    וַיַּחְפְּרוּand they dugכׇל־מִצְרַיִםall Egyptסְבִיבֹתaroundהַיְאֹרthe Riverמַיִםwaterלִשְׁתּוֹתto drinkכִּיbecauseלֹאnotיָכְלוּcould theyלִשְׁתֹּתto drinkמִמֵּימֵיof the water ofהַיְאֹר׃the River

    And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25. 25

    וַיִּמָּלֵאand were fulfilledשִׁבְעַתsevenיָמִיםdaysאַחֲרֵיafterהַכּוֹת־יְהֹוָהthe LORD had smittenאֶת־הַיְאֹר׃the River

    And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.

26. 26

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesבֹּאcomeאֶל־פַּרְעֹהto Pharaohוְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֵלָיוto himכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDשַׁלַּחlet goאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleוְיַעַבְדֻנִי׃so they may serve me

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

27. 27

    וְאִם־מָאֵןand if refuseאַתָּהyouלְשַׁלֵּחַto let goהִנֵּהbeholdאָנֹכִיIנֹגֵףwill smiteאֶת־כׇּל־גְּבוּלְךָall your bordersבַּצְפַרְדְּעִים׃with frogs

    And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:

28. 28

    וְשָׁרַץand shall bring forth abundantlyהַיְאֹרthe Riverצְפַרְדְּעִיםfrogsוְעָלוּand they will go upוּבָאוּand shall comeבְּבֵיתֶךָin your houseוּבַחֲדַרand into the chamber ofמִשְׁכָּבְךָyour bedוְעַל־מִטָּתֶךָand upon your bedוּבְבֵיתand in the house ofעֲבָדֶיךָyour servantsוּבְעַמֶּךָand upon your peopleוּבְתַנּוּרֶיךָand into your ovensוּבְמִשְׁאֲרוֹתֶיךָ׃and into your kneading troughs

    And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:

29. 29

    וּבְכָהand on youוּבְעַמְּךָand upon your peopleוּבְכׇל־עֲבָדֶיךָand upon all your servantsיַעֲלוּshall go upהַצְפַרְדְּעִים׃the frogs

    And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.
