   And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

   דַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuthat they turn backוְיַחֲנוּve/ya/cha/NUand encampלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeפִּיPiPi-הַחִירֹתha/chi/ROThahirothבֵּיןbenbetweenמִגְדֹּלMig/DOLMigdolוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeבַּעַלBA/alBaal-צְפֹןtse/FONzephonנִכְחוֹnikh/CHObefore itתַחֲנוּta/cha/NUshall you encampעַל־הַיָּם׃al-hay/YAMby the sea

   Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baal-zephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

   וְאָמַרve/a/MARfor will sayפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohלִבְנֵיliv/NEof the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנְבֻכִיםne/vu/KHIMare entangledהֵםhemtheyבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landסָגַרsa/GARhas shut inעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemהַמִּדְבָּר׃ham/mid/BARthe wilderness

   For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

   וְחִזַּקְתִּיve/chiz/zak/TIand I will hardenאֶת־לֵב־פַּרְעֹהet-Lev-par/OPharaoh's heartוְרָדַףve/ra/DAFand he shall followאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themוְאִכָּבְדָהve/ik/ka/ve/DAand I will be honoredבְּפַרְעֹהbe/Far/Oby Pharaohוּבְכׇל־חֵילוֹu/ve/KHOL-che/LOand upon all his hostוְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand shall knowמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵן׃vay/ya/a/SU-khenand they did so

   And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

   וַיֻּגַּדvay/yug/GADand it was toldלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptכִּיkithatבָרַחva/RACHhad fledהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיֵּהָפֵךְvay/ye/ha/FEKHand was turnedלְבַבle/VAVthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohוַעֲבָדָיוva/a/va/DAYVand his servantsאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMagainst the peopleוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמַה־זֹּאתma-zotwhat is thisעָשִׂינוּa/SI/nuwe have doneכִּי־שִׁלַּחְנוּki-shil/LACH/nuthat we have let goאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelמֵעׇבְדֵנוּ׃me/ov/de/NUfrom serving us

   And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

   וַיֶּאְסֹרvay/ye/SORand he made readyאֶת־רִכְבּוֹet-rikh/BOhis chariotוְאֶת־עַמּוֹve/ET-am/MOand his peopleלָקַחla/KACHhe tookעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

   And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookשֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹתshesh-me/OTsix hundredרֶכֶבRE/khevchariotsבָּחוּרba/CHURchosenוְכֹלve/KHOLand allרֶכֶבRE/khevchariotsמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְשָׁלִשִׁםve/sha/li/SHIMand captainsעַל־כֻּלּוֹ׃al-kul/LOover all of them

   And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

   וַיְחַזֵּקvay/chaz/ZEKand hardenedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־לֵבet-levthe heart ofפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוַיִּרְדֹּףvay/yir/DOFand he pursuedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelיֹצְאִיםyots/IMwent outבְּיָדbe/YADwith a handרָמָה׃ra/MAhigh

   And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

   But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.

    וּפַרְעֹהu/Far/Oand Pharaohהִקְרִיבhik/RIVdrew nearוַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand lifted upבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֶת־עֵינֵיהֶםet-e/ne/HEMtheir eyesוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansנֹסֵעַno/SE/amarchedאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand they were afraidמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיִּצְעֲקוּvay/yits/a/KUand they cried outבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֶל־יְהֹוָה׃el-Adonaito the LORD

    And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesהֲמִבְּלִיha/mib/be/LIis it because there were noאֵין־קְבָרִיםen-ke/va/RIMgravesבְּמִצְרַיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptלְקַחְתָּנוּle/kach/TA/nuhave you taken us awayלָמוּתla/MUTto dieבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessמַה־זֹּאתma-zotwhat is thisעָשִׂיתָa/SI/tayou have doneלָּנוּLA/nuto usלְהוֹצִיאָנוּle/ho/tsi/A/nuto bring us outמִמִּצְרָיִם׃mim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egypt

    And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

    הֲלֹא־זֶהha/LO-zeis not thisהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבַּרְנוּdib/BAR/nuwe spokeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youבְמִצְרַיִםve/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingחֲדַלcha/DALlet aloneמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuusוְנַעַבְדָהve/na/av/DAthat we may serveאֶת־מִצְרָיִםet-Mits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansכִּיkiforטוֹבtovit were betterלָנוּLA/nufor usעֲבֹדa/VODto serveאֶת־מִצְרַיִםet-Mits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansמִמֻּתֵנוּmim/mu/TE/nuthan that we should dieבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the wilderness

    Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleאַל־תִּירָאוּal-ti/RA/ufear notהִתְיַצְּבוּhit/yats/tse/VUstand stillוּרְאוּu/re/Uand seeאֶת־יְשׁוּעַתet-ye/shu/ATthe salvation ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶהa/SHER-ya/a/SHEwhich He will workלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayכִּיkiforאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMyou have seenאֶת־מִצְרַיִםet-Mits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayלֹאlonotתֹסִפוּto/SI/fuyou shall againלִרְאֹתָםlir/o/TAMsee themעוֹדodany moreעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMfor ever

    And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14. 14

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיִלָּחֵםyil/la/CHEMshall fightלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youתַּחֲרִשׁוּן׃ta/cha/ri/SHUNshall hold your peace

    The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesמַה־תִּצְעַקma-tits/AKwhy do you cryאֵלָיe/LAYto meדַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלel-Be/NE-yis/ra/ELto the children of Israelוְיִסָּעוּ׃ve/yis/SA/uthat they go forward

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

16. 16

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut youהָרֵםha/REMlift upאֶת־מַטְּךָet-mat/te/KHAyour staffוּנְטֵהu/ne/TEand stretch outאֶת־יָדְךָet-ya/de/KHAyour handעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMover the seaוּבְקָעֵהוּu/ve/ka/E/huand divide itוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand shall goבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHinto the midst ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaבַּיַּבָּשָׁה׃bay/yab/ba/SHAon dry ground

    But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17. 17

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמְחַזֵּקme/chaz/ZEKwill hardenאֶת־לֵבet-levthe hearts ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand they shall goאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themוְאִכָּבְדָהve/ik/ka/ve/DAand I will be honoredבְּפַרְעֹהbe/Far/Oby Pharaohוּבְכׇל־חֵילוֹu/ve/KHOL-che/LOand upon all his hostבְּרִכְבּוֹbe/rikh/BOupon his chariotsוּבְפָרָשָׁיו׃u/ve/fa/ra/SHAYVand upon his horsemen

    And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18. 18

    וְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand shall knowמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּהִכָּבְדִיbe/hik/ka/ve/DIwhen I have gotten me honorבְּפַרְעֹהbe/Far/Oby Pharaohבְּרִכְבּוֹbe/rikh/BOupon his chariotsוּבְפָרָשָׁיו׃u/ve/fa/ra/SHAYVand upon his horsemen

    And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19. 19

    וַיִּסַּעvay/yis/SAand removedמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהַהֹלֵךְha/ho/LEKHwho wentלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמַחֲנֵהma/cha/NEthe camp ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶםme/a/cha/re/HEMbehind themוַיִּסַּעvay/yis/SAand removedעַמּוּדam/MUDthe pillar ofהֶעָנָןhe/a/NANthe cloudמִפְּנֵיהֶםmip/pe/ne/HEMfrom before themוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃me/a/cha/re/HEMbehind them

    And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand it cameבֵּיןbenbetweenמַחֲנֵהma/cha/NEthe camp ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenמַחֲנֵהma/cha/NEthe camp ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasהֶעָנָןhe/a/NANthe cloudוְהַחֹשֶׁךְve/ha/CHO/shekhand the darknessוַיָּאֶרvay/YA/erbut it gave lightאֶת־הַלָּיְלָהet-hal/LAY/lathe nightוְלֹא־קָרַבve/LO-ka/RAVso that came not nearזֶהzethe oneאֶל־זֶהel-zeto the otherכׇּל־הַלָּיְלָה׃kol-hal/LAY/laall the night

    And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

    וַיֵּטvay/YETand stretched outמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMover the seaוַיּוֹלֶךְvay/YO/lekhand caused to go backיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הַיָּםet-hay/YAMthe seaבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achby a windקָדִיםka/DIMeastעַזָּהaz/ZAstrongכׇּל־הַלַּיְלָהkol-hal/LAY/laall the nightוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand madeאֶת־הַיָּםet-hay/YAMthe seaלֶחָרָבָהle/cha/ra/VAdry landוַיִּבָּקְעוּvay/yib/ba/ke/Uand were dividedהַמָּיִם׃ham/MA/yimthe waters

    And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand wentבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHinto the midst ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaבַּיַּבָּשָׁהbay/yab/ba/SHAon dry groundוְהַמַּיִםve/ham/MA/yimand the waters wereלָהֶםla/HEMto themחוֹמָהcho/MAa wallמִימִינָםmi/mi/NAMon their right handוּמִשְּׂמֹאלָם׃u/mis/se/mo/LAMand on their left

    And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23. 23

    וַיִּרְדְּפוּvay/yir/de/FUand pursuedמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand went inאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themכֹּלkolallסוּסsusthe horses ofפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohרִכְבּוֹrikh/BOhis chariotsוּפָרָשָׁיוu/fa/ra/SHAYVand his horsemenאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhinto the midst ofהַיָּם׃hay/YAMthe sea

    And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּאַשְׁמֹרֶתbe/ash/MO/retin the watch ofהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kerthe morningוַיַּשְׁקֵףvay/yash/KEFlooked downיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מַחֲנֵהel-ma/cha/NEupon the camp ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansבְּעַמּוּדbe/am/MUDthrough the pillar ofאֵשׁeshfireוְעָנָןve/a/NANand cloudוַיָּהׇםvay/YA/homand troubledאֵת־מַחֲנֵהet-ma/cha/NEthe camp ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimthe Egyptians

    And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25. 25

    וַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand took offאֵת־אֹפַןet-o/FANthe wheels ofמַרְכְּבֹתָיוmar/ke/vo/TAYVtheir chariotsוַיְנַהֲגֵהוּvay/na/ha/GE/huso that they drove themבִּכְבֵדֻתbikh/ve/DUTheavilyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansאָנוּסָהa/NU/salet us fleeמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom the face ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכִּיkiforיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנִלְחָםnil/CHAMfightsלָהֶםla/HEMfor themבְּמִצְרָיִם׃be/Mits/RA/yimagainst the Egyptians

    And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26. 26

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesנְטֵהne/TEstretch outאֶת־יָדְךָet-ya/de/KHAyour handעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMover the seaוְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuthat may come againהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersעַל־מִצְרַיִםal-Mits/RA/yimupon the Egyptiansעַל־רִכְבּוֹal-rikh/BOupon their chariotsוְעַל־פָּרָשָׁיו׃ve/AL-pa/ra/SHAYVand upon their horsemen

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

    וַיֵּטvay/YETand stretched outמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMover the seaוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaלִפְנוֹתlif/NOTwhen appearedבֹּקֶרBO/kerthe morningלְאֵיתָנוֹle/e/ta/NOto its strengthוּמִצְרַיִםu/Mits/RA/yimand the Egyptiansנָסִיםna/SIMfledלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOagainst itוַיְנַעֵרvay/na/ERand overthrewיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מִצְרַיִםet-Mits/RA/yimthe Egyptiansבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהַיָּם׃hay/YAMthe sea

    And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

    וַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand returnedהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersוַיְכַסּוּvay/khas/SUand coveredאֶת־הָרֶכֶבet-ha/RE/khevthe chariotsוְאֶת־הַפָּרָשִׁיםve/ET-hap/pa/ra/SHIMand the horsemenלְכֹלle/KHOLeven allחֵילchelthe host ofפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMthat cameאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themבַּיָּםbay/YAMin the seaלֹא־נִשְׁאַרlo-nish/ARthere remained notבָּהֶםba/HEMof themעַד־אֶחָד׃ad-e/CHADso much as one

    And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהָלְכוּha/le/KHUwalkedבַיַּבָּשָׁהvay/yab/ba/SHAupon dry landבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaוְהַמַּיִםve/ham/MA/yimand the waters wereלָהֶםla/HEMto themחֹמָהcho/MAa wallמִימִינָםmi/mi/NAMon their right handוּמִשְּׂמֹאלָם׃u/mis/se/mo/LAMand on their left

    But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

    Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶת־הַיָּדet-hay/YADthe handהַגְּדֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשָׂהa/SAdidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּמִצְרַיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimupon the Egyptiansוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand fearedהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוַיַּאֲמִינוּvay/ya/a/MI/nuand believedבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDוּבְמֹשֶׁהu/ve/Mo/SHEand in Mosesעַבְדּוֹ׃av/DOHis servant

    And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.
