1. 1

   כִּיwhenיְבִיאֲךָwill bring youיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godאֶל־הָאָרֶץunto the landאֲשֶׁר־אַתָּהwhich youבָא־שָׁמָּהcame thereלְרִשְׁתָּהּto possess itוְנָשַׁלand he will clear awayגּוֹיִם־רַבִּיםnations manyמִפָּנֶיךָfrom before youהַחִתִּיthe Hittitesוְהַגִּרְגָּשִׁיand the Girgashiteוְהָאֱמֹרִיand the Amoriteוְהַכְּנַעֲנִיand the Canaaniteוְהַפְּרִזִּיand the Perizziteוְהַחִוִּיand the Hiviteוְהַיְבוּסִיand the Jebusiteשִׁבְעָהsevenגוֹיִםnationsרַבִּיםmanyוַעֲצוּמִיםand mightyמִמֶּךָּ׃from you

   When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2. 2

   וּנְתָנָםand will give themיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלְפָנֶיךָbefore youוְהִכִּיתָםand you will strike down themהַחֲרֵםutterly destroyingתַּחֲרִיםyou will totally destroyאֹתָםthemלֹא־תִכְרֹתnot you shall makeלָהֶםto themבְּרִיתa covenantוְלֹאand notתְחׇנֵּם׃you will show favor to them

   And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3. 3

   וְלֹאand notתִתְחַתֵּןyou will intermarryבָּםin themבִּתְּךָyour daughterלֹא־תִתֵּןnot you shall giveלִבְנוֹfor his sonוּבִתּוֹand his daughterלֹא־תִקַּחnot you will takeלִבְנֶךָ׃for your son

   Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4. 4

   כִּי־יָסִירfor he will turn awayאֶת־בִּנְךָyour sonמֵאַחֲרַיfrom following Meוְעָבְדוּand will serveאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםother godsוְחָרָהand it will burnאַף־יְהֹוָהthe anger of the LORDבָּכֶםagainst youוְהִשְׁמִידְךָand he will destroy youמַהֵר׃quickly

   For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5. 5

   כִּי־אִם־כֹּהbut thusתַעֲשׂוּyou shall doלָהֶםto themמִזְבְּחֹתֵיהֶםtheir altarsתִּתֹּצוּyou will break downוּמַצֵּבֹתָםand their sacred pillarsתְּשַׁבֵּרוּyou will shatterוַאֲשֵׁירֵהֶםand their Asherah polesתְּגַדֵּעוּןyou will cut downוּפְסִילֵיהֶםand their graven imagesתִּשְׂרְפוּןyou will burnבָּאֵשׁ׃by fire

   But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

   כִּיforעַםa peopleקָדוֹשׁthat is holyאַתָּהare youלַיהֹוָהto the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godבְּךָyouבָּחַרhas chosenיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלִהְיוֹתto beלוֹfor Himselfלְעַםa peopleסְגֻלָּהthat is treasuredמִכֹּלfrom among allהָעַמִּיםthe peoplesאֲשֶׁרthat areעַל־פְּנֵיupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃the earth

   For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7. 7

   לֹאnotמֵרֻבְּכֶםbecause you were moreמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםfrom all the peopleחָשַׁקlovedיְהֹוָהthe LORDבָּכֶםin youוַיִּבְחַרand choseבָּכֶםin youכִּי־אַתֶּםfor you wereהַמְעַטthe fewestמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּים׃from all the people

   The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8. 8

   כִּיbecauseמֵאַהֲבַתfrom the love ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶתְכֶםyouוּמִשׇּׁמְרוֹand because He keptאֶת־הַשְּׁבֻעָהthe oathאֲשֶׁרwhichנִשְׁבַּעsworeלַאֲבֹתֵיכֶםto your ancestorsהוֹצִיאbrought outיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶתְכֶםyouבְּיָדby a handחֲזָקָהmightyוַיִּפְדְּךָand he redeemed youמִבֵּיתfrom the house ofעֲבָדִיםservantsמִיַּדfrom the hand ofפַּרְעֹהPharaohמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרָיִם׃king of Egypt

   But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9. 9

   וְיָדַעְתָּand you knowכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour GodהוּאheהָאֱלֹהִיםGodהָאֵלthe Godהַנֶּאֱמָןthe faithfulשֹׁמֵרwho keepsהַבְּרִיתthe covenantוְהַחֶסֶדand the mercyלְאֹהֲבָיוto those who love Himוּלְשֹׁמְרֵיand keepמִצְוֺתָוHis commandmentsלְאֶלֶףto a thousandדּוֹר׃generation

   Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10. 10

    וּמְשַׁלֵּםand who repaysלְשֹׂנְאָיוto those who hate Himאֶל־פָּנָיוto his faceלְהַאֲבִידוֹto destroy himלֹאnotיְאַחֵרhe delaysלְשֹׂנְאוֹto the one who hates himאֶל־פָּנָיוto his faceיְשַׁלֶּם־לוֹ׃he repays him

    And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11. 11

    וְשָׁמַרְתָּand you will keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהthe commandmentוְאֶת־הַחֻקִּיםand the statutesוְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםand the judgmentsאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIמְצַוְּךָam commanding youהַיּוֹםthe dayלַעֲשׂוֹתָם׃to do them

    Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12. 12

    וְהָיָהand it shall beעֵקֶבbecauseתִּשְׁמְעוּןyou will hearאֵת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםthe judgmentsהָאֵלֶּהtheseוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםand you shall keepוַעֲשִׂיתֶםand you shall doאֹתָםthemוְשָׁמַרand keptיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלְךָfor youאֶת־הַבְּרִיתthe covenantוְאֶת־הַחֶסֶדand the mercyאֲשֶׁרwhichנִשְׁבַּעsworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃to your ancestors

    Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

13. 13

    וַאֲהֵבְךָand he will love youוּבֵרַכְךָand he will bless youוְהִרְבֶּךָand he will increase youוּבֵרַךְand blessedפְּרִי־בִטְנְךָthe fruit of your wombוּפְרִי־אַדְמָתֶךָand the fruit of your groundדְּגָנְךָyour grainוְתִירֹשְׁךָand your new wineוְיִצְהָרֶךָand your fresh oilשְׁגַר־אֲלָפֶיךָthe young of your cattleוְעַשְׁתְּרֹתand the flocks ofצֹאנֶךָyour flockעַלuponהָאֲדָמָהthe landאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעwhich sworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָto your ancestorsלָתֶתto giveלָךְ׃to you

    And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

14. 14

    בָּרוּךְblessedתִּהְיֶהshall beמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםfrom all the peopleלֹא־יִהְיֶהthere shall not beבְךָin youעָקָרbarren maleוַעֲקָרָהor barren femaleוּבִבְהֶמְתֶּךָ׃and among your livestock

    Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

15. 15

    וְהֵסִירand removedיְהֹוָהthe LORDמִמְּךָfrom youכׇּל־חֹלִיall sicknessוְכׇל־מַדְוֵיand all diseasesמִצְרַיִםEgyptהָרָעִיםthe evilאֲשֶׁרwhichיָדַעְתָּyou knowלֹאnotיְשִׂימָםhe will put themבָּךְin youוּנְתָנָםand he will give themבְּכׇל־שֹׂנְאֶיךָ׃in all those who hate you

    And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

16. 16

    וְאָכַלְתָּand you shall eatאֶת־כׇּל־הָעַמִּיםall the peopleאֲשֶׁרwhichיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godנֹתֵןgivingלָךְto youלֹא־תָחוֹסnot it will look with pityעֵינְךָyour eyeעֲלֵיהֶםupon themוְלֹאand notתַעֲבֹדyou shall serveאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםtheir godsכִּי־מוֹקֵשׁbecause will be a snareהוּאitלָךְ׃to you

    And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.

17. 17

    כִּיifתֹאמַרyou sayבִּלְבָבְךָin your heartרַבִּיםmanyהַגּוֹיִםthe nationsהָאֵלֶּהtheseמִמֶּנִּיfrom meאֵיכָהhowאוּכַלcan Iלְהוֹרִישָׁם׃to dispossess them

    If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

18. 18

    לֹאnotתִירָאyou shall be afraidמֵהֶםof themזָכֹרsurelyתִּזְכֹּרyou shall rememberאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהwhich didיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלְפַרְעֹהfor Pharaohוּלְכׇל־מִצְרָיִם׃and to all Egypt

    Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

19. 19

    הַמַּסֹּתthe trialsהַגְּדֹלֹתthe greatאֲשֶׁר־רָאוּwhich sawעֵינֶיךָyour eyesוְהָאֹתֹתand the signsוְהַמֹּפְתִיםand the wondersוְהַיָּדand the handהַחֲזָקָהthe mightyוְהַזְּרֹעַand the armהַנְּטוּיָהthe outstretchedאֲשֶׁרwhichהוֹצִאֲךָbrought you outיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godכֵּן־יַעֲשֶׂהthus he shall doיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלְכׇל־הָעַמִּיםto all the peopleאֲשֶׁר־אַתָּהwhich youיָרֵאare afraidמִפְּנֵיהֶם׃from before them

    The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.

20. 20

    וְגַםand alsoאֶת־הַצִּרְעָהthe hornetיְשַׁלַּחshall sendיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godבָּםamong themעַד־אֲבֹדuntil perishהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםthe remainingוְהַנִּסְתָּרִיםand the ones who hide themselvesמִפָּנֶיךָ׃from before you

    Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.

21. 21

    לֹאnotתַעֲרֹץyou shall be terrifiedמִפְּנֵיהֶםfrom before themכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godבְּקִרְבֶּךָin your midstאֵלGodגָּדוֹלgreatוְנוֹרָא׃and terrible

    Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

22. 22

    וְנָשַׁלand will clear awayיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godאֶת־הַגּוֹיִםthe nationsהָאֵלtheseמִפָּנֶיךָfrom before youמְעַטlittleמְעָטby littleלֹאnotתוּכַלyou canכַּלֹּתָםto make an end of themמַהֵרquicklyפֶּן־תִּרְבֶּהlest it should increaseעָלֶיךָupon youחַיַּתbeasts ofהַשָּׂדֶה׃the field

    And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

23. 23

    וּנְתָנָםand will give themיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלְפָנֶיךָbefore youוְהָמָםand he will confuse themמְהוּמָהa tumultגְדֹלָהgreatעַדuntilהִשָּׁמְדָם׃they are destroyed

    But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.

24. 24

    וְנָתַןand he shall giveמַלְכֵיהֶםtheir kingsבְּיָדֶךָinto your handוְהַאֲבַדְתָּand you will destroyאֶת־שְׁמָםtheir nameמִתַּחַתfrom beneathהַשָּׁמָיִםthe heavensלֹא־יִתְיַצֵּבnot he will standאִישׁa manבְּפָנֶיךָbefore youעַדuntilהִשְׁמִדְךָyou have destroyedאֹתָם׃them

    And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

25. 25

    פְּסִילֵיthe graven images ofאֱלֹהֵיהֶםtheir godsתִּשְׂרְפוּןyou will burnבָּאֵשׁby fireלֹא־תַחְמֹדyou shall not covetכֶּסֶףsilverוְזָהָבand goldעֲלֵיהֶםupon themוְלָקַחְתָּand you will takeלָךְto youפֶּןlestתִּוָּקֵשׁyou should be ensnaredבּוֹin itכִּיforתוֹעֲבַתthe abomination ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godהוּא׃it

    The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

26. 26

    וְלֹא־תָבִיאand not you will bringתוֹעֵבָהan abominationאֶל־בֵּיתֶךָto your houseוְהָיִיתָand you becomeחֵרֶםa devoted thingכָּמֹהוּlike itשַׁקֵּץutterlyתְּשַׁקְּצֶנּוּyou will detest itוְתַעֵבand utterlyתְּתַעֲבֶנּוּyou will abhor itכִּי־חֵרֶםbecause a devoted thingהוּא׃it

    Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
