   When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

   וּנְתָנָםu/ne/ta/NAMand when shall deliver themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוְהִכִּיתָםve/hik/ki/TAMyou shall strike themהַחֲרֵםha/cha/REMutterly destroyתַּחֲרִיםta/cha/RIMyou shall utterly destroyאֹתָםo/TAMthemלֹא־תִכְרֹתlo-tikh/ROTyou shall make noלָהֶםla/HEMwith themבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantוְלֹאve/LOnorתְחׇנֵּם׃te/chon/NEMshow mercy to them

   And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3. 3

   וְלֹאve/LOneitherתִתְחַתֵּןtit/chat/TENshall you make marriagesבָּםbamwith themבִּתְּךָbit/te/KHAyour daughterלֹא־תִתֵּןlo-tit/TENyou shall not giveלִבְנוֹliv/NOto his sonוּבִתּוֹu/vit/TOand his daughterלֹא־תִקַּחlo-tik/KACHyou shall not takeלִבְנֶךָ׃liv/NE/khafor your son

   Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

   כִּי־יָסִירki-ya/SIRfor they will turn awayאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonמֵאַחֲרַיme/a/cha/RAYfrom following meוְעָבְדוּve/a/ve/DUthat they may serveאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsוְחָרָהve/cha/RAso will be kindledאַף־יְהֹוָהaf-Adonaithe anger of the LORDבָּכֶםba/KHEMagainst youוְהִשְׁמִידְךָve/hish/mi/de/KHAand destroy youמַהֵר׃ma/HERsuddenly

   For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

   כִּי־אִם־כֹּהki-im-kobut thusתַעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou shall doלָהֶםla/HEMto themמִזְבְּחֹתֵיהֶםmiz/be/cho/te/HEMtheir altarsתִּתֹּצוּtit/TO/tsuyou shall destroyוּמַצֵּבֹתָםu/mats/tse/vo/TAMand their pillarsתְּשַׁבֵּרוּte/shab/BE/rubreak downוַאֲשֵׁירֵהֶםva/A/she/re/HEMand their Asherimתְּגַדֵּעוּןte/gad/de/UNcut downוּפְסִילֵיהֶםu/fe/si/le/HEMand their graven imagesתִּשְׂרְפוּןtis/re/FUNburnבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHwith fire

   But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

   כִּיkiforעַםama peopleקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyאַתָּהat/TAare youלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּךָbe/KHAyouבָּחַרba/CHARhas chosenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלוֹloHisלְעַםle/AMa peopleסְגֻלָּהse/gul/LAtreasuredמִכֹּלmik/KOLabove allהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAthe earth

   For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

   לֹאlonotמֵרֻבְּכֶםme/rub/be/KHEMbecause you were more in numberמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםmik/KOL-ha/am/MIMthan any of the peoplesחָשַׁקcha/SHAKset His loveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבָּכֶםba/KHEMupon youוַיִּבְחַרvay/yiv/CHARnor choseבָּכֶםba/KHEMyouכִּי־אַתֶּםki-at/TEMfor you wereהַמְעַטham/ATthe fewestמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּים׃mik/KOL-ha/am/MIMof all the peoples

   The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8. 8

   כִּיkibutמֵאַהֲבַתme/a/ha/VATbecause lovedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּמִשׇּׁמְרוֹu/mish/shom/ROand because He would keepאֶת־הַשְּׁבֻעָהet-hash/she/vu/Athe oathאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAHe had swornלַאֲבֹתֵיכֶםla/a/vo/te/KHEMto your fathersהוֹצִיאho/TSIhas brought outיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּיָדbe/YADby a handחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAmightyוַיִּפְדְּךָvay/yif/de/KHAand redeemed youמִבֵּיתmib/BETout of the house ofעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMbondageמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרָיִם׃ME/lekh-Mits/RA/yimking of Egypt

   But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

   וְיָדַעְתָּve/ya/da/TAknow thereforeכִּי־יְהֹוָהki-Adonaithat the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour GodהוּאhuHeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMis Godהָאֵלha/ELthe Godהַנֶּאֱמָןhan/ne/e/MANfaithfulשֹׁמֵרsho/MERwho keepsהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantוְהַחֶסֶדve/ha/CHE/sedand the mercyלְאֹהֲבָיוle/o/ha/VAYVto those who love Himוּלְשֹׁמְרֵיu/le/shom/REand keepמִצְוֺתָוmits/vo/TAVHis commandmentsלְאֶלֶףle/E/lefto a thousandדּוֹר׃dorgenerations

   Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10. 10

    וּמְשַׁלֵּםu/me/shal/LEMand repaysלְשֹׂנְאָיוle/son/AYVthose who hate Himאֶל־פָּנָיוel-pa/NAYVto their faceלְהַאֲבִידוֹle/ha/a/vi/DOto destroy themלֹאlonotיְאַחֵרye/a/CHERHe will be slackלְשֹׂנְאוֹle/son/Owith him who hates Himאֶל־פָּנָיוel-pa/NAYVto his faceיְשַׁלֶּם־לוֹ׃ye/shal/LEM-loHe will repay him

    And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11. 11

    וְשָׁמַרְתָּve/sha/mar/TAyou shall therefore keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהet-ham/mits/VAthe commandmentוְאֶת־הַחֻקִּיםve/ET-ha/chuk/KIMand the statutesוְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ET-ham/mish/pa/TIMand the judgmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְצַוְּךָme/tsav/ve/KHAcommand youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayלַעֲשׂוֹתָם׃la/a/so/TAMto do them

    Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12. 12

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beעֵקֶבE/kevbecauseתִּשְׁמְעוּןtish/me/UNyou hearken toאֵת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםet-ham/mish/pa/TIMthe judgmentsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםu/she/mar/TEMand keepוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand doאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְשָׁמַרve/sha/MARthat will keepיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלְךָle/KHAfor youאֶת־הַבְּרִיתet-hab/be/RITthe covenantוְאֶת־הַחֶסֶדve/ET-ha/CHE/sedand the mercyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAHe sworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃la/a/vo/TE/khato your fathers

    Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

13. 13

    וַאֲהֵבְךָva/a/hev/KHAand He will love youוּבֵרַכְךָu/ve/rakh/KHAand bless youוְהִרְבֶּךָve/hir/BE/khaand multiply youוּבֵרַךְu/ve/RAKHHe will also blessפְּרִי־בִטְנְךָpe/RI-vit/ne/KHAthe fruit of your wombוּפְרִי־אַדְמָתֶךָu/fe/RI-ad/ma/TE/khaand the fruit of your groundדְּגָנְךָde/ga/ne/KHAyour grainוְתִירֹשְׁךָve/ti/rosh/KHAand your new wineוְיִצְהָרֶךָve/yits/ha/RE/khaand your oilשְׁגַר־אֲלָפֶיךָshe/GAR-a/la/FE/khathe increase of your cattleוְעַשְׁתְּרֹתve/ash/te/ROTand the young ofצֹאנֶךָtso/NE/khayour flockעַלalinהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe landאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעa/SHER-nish/BAwhich sworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָla/a/vo/TE/khato your fathersלָתֶתLA/tetto giveלָךְ׃lakhyou

    And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

14. 14

    בָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessedתִּהְיֶהtih/YEyou shall beמִכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםmik/KOL-ha/am/MIMabove all the peoplesלֹא־יִהְיֶהlo-yih/YEthere shall not beבְךָve/KHAamong youעָקָרa/KARmale barrenוַעֲקָרָהva/a/ka/RAor female barrenוּבִבְהֶמְתֶּךָ׃u/viv/hem/TE/khaor among your cattle

    Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

15. 15

    וְהֵסִירve/he/SIRand will take awayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youכׇּל־חֹלִיkol-CHO/liall sicknessוְכׇל־מַדְוֵיve/KHOL-mad/VEand all the diseases ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMevilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיָדַעְתָּya/DA/tayou knowלֹאlonotיְשִׂימָםye/si/MAMwill He put themבָּךְbakhupon youוּנְתָנָםu/ne/ta/NAMbut will lay themבְּכׇל־שֹׂנְאֶיךָ׃be/KHOL-son/E/khaupon all who hate you

    And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

16. 16

    וְאָכַלְתָּve/a/khal/TAand you shall consumeאֶת־כׇּל־הָעַמִּיםet-kol-ha/am/MIMall the peoplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godנֹתֵןno/TENis givingלָךְlakhyouלֹא־תָחוֹסlo-ta/CHOSshall not pityעֵינְךָe/ne/KHAyour eyeעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוְלֹאve/LOnorתַעֲבֹדta/a/VODshall you serveאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםet-e/lo/he/HEMtheir godsכִּי־מוֹקֵשׁki-mo/KESHfor a snareהוּאhuthat will beלָךְ׃lakhto you

    And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.

17. 17

    כִּיkiifתֹאמַרto/MARyou sayבִּלְבָבְךָbil/va/ve/KHAin your heartרַבִּיםrab/BIMare moreהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nithan Iאֵיכָהe/KHAhowאוּכַלu/KHALcan Iלְהוֹרִישָׁם׃le/ho/ri/SHAMdispossess them

    If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

18. 18

    לֹאlonotתִירָאti/RAyou shall be afraidמֵהֶםme/HEMof themזָכֹרza/KHORrememberתִּזְכֹּרtiz/KORyou shall rememberאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהet-a/SHER-a/SAwhat didיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלְפַרְעֹהle/Far/Oto Pharaohוּלְכׇל־מִצְרָיִם׃u/Le/KHOL-mits/RA/yimand to all Egypt

    Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

19. 19

    הַמַּסֹּתham/mas/SOTthe trialsהַגְּדֹלֹתhag/ge/do/LOTgreatאֲשֶׁר־רָאוּa/SHER-ra/Uwhich sawעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesוְהָאֹתֹתve/ha/o/TOTand the signsוְהַמֹּפְתִיםve/ham/mof/TIMand the wondersוְהַיָּדve/hay/YADand the handהַחֲזָקָהha/cha/za/KAmightyוְהַזְּרֹעַve/haz/ze/RO/aand the armהַנְּטוּיָהhan/ne/tu/YAoutstretchedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichהוֹצִאֲךָho/tsi/a/KHAbrought you outיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godכֵּן־יַעֲשֶׂהken-ya/a/SEso shall doיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלְכׇל־הָעַמִּיםle/KHOL-ha/am/MIMto all the peoplesאֲשֶׁר־אַתָּהa/SHER-at/TAwhom youיָרֵאya/REare afraidמִפְּנֵיהֶם׃mip/pe/ne/HEMof

    The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.

20. 20

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־הַצִּרְעָהet-hats/tsir/Athe hornetיְשַׁלַּחye/shal/LACHwill sendיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבָּםbamamong themעַד־אֲבֹדad-a/VODuntil have perishedהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMthose who are leftוְהַנִּסְתָּרִיםve/han/nis/ta/RIMand hide themselvesמִפָּנֶיךָ׃mip/pa/NE/khafrom you

    Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.

21. 21

    לֹאlonotתַעֲרֹץta/a/ROTSshall you be frightenedמִפְּנֵיהֶםmip/pe/ne/HEMof themכִּי־יְהֹוָהki-Adonaifor the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּקִרְבֶּךָbe/kir/BE/khais among youאֵלela Godגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוְנוֹרָא׃ve/no/RAand terrible

    Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

22. 22

    וְנָשַׁלve/na/SHALand will clear awayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֶת־הַגּוֹיִםet-hag/go/YIMthe nationsהָאֵלha/ELtheseמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khafrom before youמְעַטme/ATlittleמְעָטme/ATby littleלֹאlonotתוּכַלtu/KHALmay youכַּלֹּתָםkal/lo/TAMconsume themמַהֵרma/HERat onceפֶּן־תִּרְבֶּהpen-tir/BElest increaseעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youחַיַּתchay/YATthe beasts ofהַשָּׂדֶה׃has/sa/DEthe field

    And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

23. 23

    וּנְתָנָםu/ne/ta/NAMbut shall deliver themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוְהָמָםve/ha/MAMand shall confound themמְהוּמָהme/hu/MAwith a confusionגְדֹלָהge/do/LAgreatעַדaduntilהִשָּׁמְדָם׃hish/sha/me/DAMthey are destroyed

    But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.

24. 24

    וְנָתַןve/na/TANand He shall deliverמַלְכֵיהֶםmal/khe/HEMtheir kingsבְּיָדֶךָbe/ya/DE/khainto your handוְהַאֲבַדְתָּve/ha/a/vad/TAand you shall destroyאֶת־שְׁמָםet-she/MAMtheir nameמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatfrom underהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensלֹא־יִתְיַצֵּבlo-yit/yats/TSEVshall not be able to standאִישׁishany manבְּפָנֶיךָbe/fa/NE/khabefore youעַדaduntilהִשְׁמִדְךָhish/mid/KHAyou have destroyedאֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

25. 25

    פְּסִילֵיpe/si/LEthe graven images ofאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir godsתִּשְׂרְפוּןtis/re/FUNyou shall burnבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireלֹא־תַחְמֹדlo-tach/MODyou shall not covetכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthat is on themוְלָקַחְתָּve/la/kach/TAnor takeלָךְlakhit for yourselfפֶּןpenlestתִּוָּקֵשׁtiv/va/KESHyou be snaredבּוֹboin itכִּיkiforתוֹעֲבַתto/a/VATan abomination toיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godהוּא׃huit is

    The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

26. 26

    וְלֹא־תָבִיאve/LO-ta/VIneither shall you bringתוֹעֵבָהto/e/VAan abominationאֶל־בֵּיתֶךָel-be/TE/khato your houseוְהָיִיתָve/ha/YI/talest you becomeחֵרֶםCHE/rema devoted thingכָּמֹהוּka/MO/hulike itשַׁקֵּץshak/KETSdetestתְּשַׁקְּצֶנּוּte/shak/ke/TSEN/nuyou shall detest itוְתַעֵבve/ta/EVand abhorתְּתַעֲבֶנּוּte/ta/a/VEN/nuyou shall abhor itכִּי־חֵרֶםki-CHE/remfor a devoted thingהוּא׃huit is

    Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
