   Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

   לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּירָאti/RAyou might fearאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־כׇּל־חֻקֹּתָיוet-kol-chuk/ko/TAYVall His statutesוּמִצְוֺתָיוu/mits/vo/TAYVand His commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְצַוֶּךָme/tsav/ve/KHAam commanding youאַתָּהat/TAyouוּבִנְךָu/vin/KHAand your sonוּבֶן־בִּנְךָu/VEN-bin/KHAand your son's sonכֹּלkolallיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחַיֶּיךָchay/YE/khayour lifeוּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand thatיַאֲרִכֻןya/a/ri/KHUNmay be prolongedיָמֶיךָ׃ya/ME/khayour days

   That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

   וְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAhear thereforeיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelוְשָׁמַרְתָּve/sha/mar/TAand observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִיטַבyi/TAVit may be wellלְךָle/KHAwith youוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand thatתִּרְבּוּןtir/BUNyou may increaseמְאֹדme/ODmightilyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבֹתֶיךָa/vo/TE/khayour fathersלָךְlakhyouאֶרֶץE/retsin a landזָבַתza/VATflowing withחָלָבcha/LAVmilkוּדְבָשׁ׃u/de/VASHand honey

   Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

   שְׁמַעshe/MAhearיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO IsraelיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour GodיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶחָד׃e/CHADis one

   Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5. 5

   וְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveאֵת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּכׇל־לְבָבְךָbe/KHOL-le/va/ve/KHAwith all your heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשְׁךָu/ve/KHOL-naf/she/KHAand with all your soulוּבְכׇל־מְאֹדֶךָ׃u/ve/KHOL-me/o/DE/khaand with all your might

   And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6. 6

   וְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall beהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְצַוְּךָme/tsav/ve/KHAcommand youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayעַל־לְבָבֶךָ׃al-le/va/VE/khain your heart

   And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

   וְשִׁנַּנְתָּםve/shin/nan/TAMand you shall teach them diligentlyלְבָנֶיךָle/va/NE/khato your childrenוְדִבַּרְתָּve/dib/bar/TAand shall talkבָּםbamof themבְּשִׁבְתְּךָbe/shiv/te/KHAwhen you sitבְּבֵיתֶךָbe/ve/TE/khain your houseוּבְלֶכְתְּךָu/ve/lekh/te/KHAand when you walkבַדֶּרֶךְvad/DE/rekhby the wayוּבְשׇׁכְבְּךָu/ve/shokh/be/KHAand when you lie downוּבְקוּמֶךָ׃u/ve/ku/ME/khaand when you rise up

   And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8. 8

   וּקְשַׁרְתָּםu/ke/shar/TAMand you shall bind themלְאוֹתle/OTfor a signעַל־יָדֶךָal-ya/DE/khaupon your handוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand they shall beלְטֹטָפֹתle/to/ta/FOTfor frontletsבֵּיןbenbetweenעֵינֶיךָ׃e/NE/khayour eyes

   And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9. 9

   וּכְתַבְתָּםu/khe/tav/TAMand you shall write themעַל־מְזֻזוֹתal-me/zu/ZOTupon the doorposts ofבֵּיתֶךָbe/TE/khayour houseוּבִשְׁעָרֶיךָ׃u/vish/a/RE/khaand on your gates

   And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkiwhenיְבִיאֲךָye/vi/a/KHAshall have brought youיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsinto the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAsworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָla/a/vo/TE/khato your fathersלְאַבְרָהָםle/Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamלְיִצְחָקle/Yits/CHAKto Isaacוּלְיַעֲקֹבu/Le/ya/a/KOVand to JacobלָתֶתLA/tetto giveלָךְlakhto youעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesגְּדֹלֹתge/do/LOTgreatוְטֹבֹתve/to/VOTand goodlyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־בָנִיתָ׃lo-va/NI/tayou did not build

    And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

11. 11

    וּבָתִּיםu/vat/TIMand housesמְלֵאִיםme/le/IMfull ofכׇּל־טוּבkol-tuvall good thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־מִלֵּאתָlo-mil/LE/tayou did not fillוּבֹרֹתu/vo/ROTand wellsחֲצוּבִיםcha/tsu/VIMdugאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־חָצַבְתָּlo-cha/TSAV/tayou did not digכְּרָמִיםke/ra/MIMvineyardsוְזֵיתִיםve/ze/TIMand olive treesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־נָטָעְתָּlo-na/TA/tayou did not plantוְאָכַלְתָּve/a/khal/TAwhen you have eatenוְשָׂבָעְתָּ׃ve/sa/VA/taand are full

    And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

12. 12

    הִשָּׁמֶרhish/SHA/mertake heedלְךָle/KHAto yourselfפֶּן־תִּשְׁכַּחpen-tish/KACHlest you forgetאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוֹצִיאֲךָho/tsi/a/KHAbrought youמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptמִבֵּיתmib/BETout of the house ofעֲבָדִים׃a/va/DIMbondage

    Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13. 13

    אֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godתִּירָאti/RAyou shall fearוְאֹתוֹve/o/TOand Himתַעֲבֹדta/a/VODyou shall serveוּבִשְׁמוֹu/vish/MOand by His nameתִּשָּׁבֵעַ׃tish/sha/VE/ayou shall swear

    Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

14. 14

    לֹאlonotתֵלְכוּןtel/KHUNshall you goאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsמֵאֱלֹהֵיme/e/lo/HEof the gods ofהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich areסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם׃se/vi/vo/te/KHEMround about you

    Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15. 15

    כִּיkiforאֵלelis a Godקַנָּאkan/NAjealousיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּקִרְבֶּךָbe/kir/BE/khaamong youפֶּן־יֶחֱרֶהpen-ye/che/RElest be kindledאַף־יְהֹוָהaf-Adonaithe anger of the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבָּךְbakhagainst youוְהִשְׁמִידְךָve/hish/mi/de/KHAand He destroy youמֵעַלme/ALfrom offפְּנֵיpe/NEthe face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAthe earth

    (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

16. 16

    לֹאlonotתְנַסּוּte/nas/SUshall you temptאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנִסִּיתֶםnis/si/TEMyou tempted Himבַּמַּסָּה׃bam/Mas/SAat Massah

    Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

17. 17

    שָׁמוֹרsha/MORkeepתִּשְׁמְרוּןtish/me/RUNyou shall keepאֶת־מִצְוֺתet-mits/VOTthe commandments ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוְעֵדֹתָיוve/e/do/TAYVand His testimoniesוְחֻקָּיוve/chuk/KAYVand His statutesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוָּךְ׃tsiv/VAKHHe has commanded you

    Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

18. 18

    וְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand you shall doהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARthe rightוְהַטּוֹבve/hat/TOVand the goodבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִיטַבyi/TAVit may be wellלָךְlakhwith youוּבָאתָu/VA/taand that you may go inוְיָרַשְׁתָּve/ya/rash/TAand possessאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landהַטֹּבָהhat/to/VAgoodאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעa/SHER-nish/BAwhich sworeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃la/a/vo/TE/khato your fathers

    And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

19. 19

    לַהֲדֹףla/ha/DOFto thrust outאֶת־כׇּל־אֹיְבֶיךָet-kol-oy/VE/khaall your enemiesמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khafrom before youכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhas spokenיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

20. 20

    כִּי־יִשְׁאָלְךָki-yish/a/le/KHAwhen asks youבִנְךָvin/KHAyour sonמָחָרma/CHARin time to comeלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמָהmawhat meanהָעֵדֹתha/e/DOTare the testimoniesוְהַחֻקִּיםve/ha/chuk/KIMand the statutesוְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ham/mish/pa/TIMand the judgmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMyou

    And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

21. 21

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayלְבִנְךָle/vin/KHAto your sonעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMslavesהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe wereלְפַרְעֹהle/Far/Oto Pharaohבְּמִצְרָיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptוַיֹּצִיאֵנוּvay/yo/tsi/E/nuand brought us outיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִמִּצְרַיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egyptבְּיָדbe/YADby a handחֲזָקָה׃cha/za/KAmighty

    Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

22. 22

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand showedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוֹתֹתo/TOTsignsוּמֹפְתִיםu/mof/TIMand wondersגְּדֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreatוְרָעִיםve/ra/IMand severeבְּמִצְרַיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptבְּפַרְעֹהbe/Far/Oupon Pharaohוּבְכׇל־בֵּיתוֹu/ve/KHOL-be/TOand upon all his householdלְעֵינֵינוּ׃le/e/NE/nubefore our eyes

    And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

23. 23

    וְאוֹתָנוּve/o/TA/nuand usהוֹצִיאho/TSIHe brought outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatהָבִיאha/VIHe might bring inאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלָתֶתLA/tetto giveלָנוּLA/nuusאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAsworeלַאֲבֹתֵינוּ׃la/a/vo/TE/nuto our fathers

    And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

24. 24

    וַיְצַוֵּנוּvay/tsav/VE/nuand commanded usיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֶת־כׇּל־הַחֻקִּיםet-kol-ha/chuk/KIMall the statutesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְיִרְאָהle/yir/Ato fearאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godלְטוֹבle/TOVfor goodלָנוּLA/nuto usכׇּל־הַיָּמִיםkol-hay/ya/MIMall the daysלְחַיֹּתֵנוּle/chay/yo/TE/nuthat He might preserve us aliveכְּהַיּוֹםke/hay/YOMas at the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25. 25

    וּצְדָקָהu/tse/da/KAand righteousnessתִּהְיֶה־לָּנוּtih/YE-LA/nushall be oursכִּי־נִשְׁמֹרki-nish/MORif we take careלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֶת־כׇּל־הַמִּצְוָהet-kol-ham/mits/VAall the commandmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּנוּ׃tsiv/VA/nuHe has commanded us

    And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
