    Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

    Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

    Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal-peor: for all the men that followed Baal-peor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

    But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

    רְאֵהre/Eseeלִמַּדְתִּיlim/MAD/tiI have taughtאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouחֻקִּיםchuk/KIMstatutesוּמִשְׁפָּטִיםu/mish/pa/TIMand judgmentsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוַּנִיtsiv/VA/nicommanded meיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָיe/lo/HAYmy Godלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTthat you should doכֵּןkensoבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revinהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areבָּאִיםba/IMare goingשָׁמָּהSHAM/maintoלְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃le/rish/TAto possess it

    Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

    וּשְׁמַרְתֶּםu/she/mar/TEMkeep them thereforeוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand do themכִּיkiforהִואhivit isחׇכְמַתְכֶםchokh/mat/KHEMyour wisdomוּבִינַתְכֶםu/vi/nat/KHEMand your understandingלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEin the sight ofהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִשְׁמְעוּןyish/me/UNshall hearאֵת־כׇּל־הַחֻקִּיםet-kol-ha/chuk/KIMall the statutesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand sayרַקraksurelyעַם־חָכָםam-cha/KHAMis a wise peopleוְנָבוֹןve/na/VONand understandingהַגּוֹיhag/GOYnationהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

    כִּיkiforמִי־גוֹיmi-goywhat nationגָּדוֹלga/DOLis so greatאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat hasאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodקְרֹבִיםke/ro/VIMso nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto themכַּיהֹוָהke-Adonaias the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godבְּכׇל־קׇרְאֵנוּbe/KHOL-kor/E/nuin all that we callאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVon Him

    For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

    וּמִיu/MIand whatגּוֹיgoynationגָּדוֹלga/DOLis so greatאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat hasחֻקִּיםchuk/KIMstatutesוּמִשְׁפָּטִיםu/mish/pa/TIMand judgmentsצַדִּיקִםtsad/di/KIMso righteousכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIנֹתֵןno/TENsetלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMthis day

    And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

    רַקrakonlyהִשָּׁמֶרhish/SHA/mertake heedלְךָle/KHAto yourselfוּשְׁמֹרu/she/MORand keepנַפְשְׁךָnaf/she/KHAyour soulמְאֹדme/ODdiligentlyפֶּן־תִּשְׁכַּחpen-tish/KACHlest you forgetאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁר־רָאוּa/SHER-ra/Uwhich have seenעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesוּפֶן־יָסוּרוּu/FEN-ya/SU/ruand lest they departמִלְּבָבְךָmil/le/va/ve/KHAfrom your heartכֹּלkolallיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחַיֶּיךָchay/YE/khayour lifeוְהוֹדַעְתָּםve/ho/da/TAMand teach themלְבָנֶיךָle/va/NE/khato your childrenוְלִבְנֵיve/liv/NEand to the children ofבָנֶיךָ׃va/NE/khayour children

    Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

    יוֹםyomthe dayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָמַדְתָּa/MAD/tayou stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּחֹרֵבbe/Cho/REVat Horebבֶּאֱמֹרbe/e/MORwhen saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meהַקְהֶל־לִיhak/HEL-ligather to meאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleוְאַשְׁמִעֵםve/ash/mi/EMand I will make them hearאֶת־דְּבָרָיet-de/va/RAYmy wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִלְמְדוּןyil/me/DUNthey may learnלְיִרְאָהle/yir/Ato fearאֹתִיo/TImeכׇּל־הַיָּמִיםkol-hay/ya/MIMall the daysאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֵםhemtheyחַיִּיםchay/YIMliveעַל־הָאֲדָמָהal-ha/a/da/MAupon the groundוְאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםve/ET-be/ne/HEMand their childrenיְלַמֵּדוּן׃ye/lam/me/DUNthat they may teach

    Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

    וַתִּקְרְבוּןvat/tik/re/VUNand you came nearוַתַּעַמְדוּןvat/ta/am/DUNand you stoodתַּחַתTA/chatunderהָהָרha/HARthe mountainוְהָהָרve/ha/HARand the mountainבֹּעֵרbo/ERburnedבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireעַד־לֵבad-levto the heart ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhwith darknessעָנָןa/NANcloudוַעֲרָפֶל׃va/a/ra/FELand thick darkness

    And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofהָאֵשׁha/ESHthe fireקוֹלkolthe voice ofדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsאַתֶּםat/TEMyou wereשֹׁמְעִיםshom/IMheardוּתְמוּנָהu/te/mu/NAbut formאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou did notרֹאִיםro/IMseeזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIonlyקוֹל׃kola voice

    And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

    וַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand He declaredלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־בְּרִיתוֹet-be/ri/TOHis covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוָּהtsiv/VAHe commandedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/retthe tenהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMwordsוַיִּכְתְּבֵםvay/yikh/te/VEMand He wrote themעַל־שְׁנֵיal-she/NEupon twoלֻחוֹתlu/CHOTtablets ofאֲבָנִים׃a/va/NIMstone

    And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

    וְאֹתִיve/o/TIand meצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִואha/HIVthatלְלַמֵּדle/lam/MEDto teachאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouחֻקִּיםchuk/KIMstatutesוּמִשְׁפָּטִיםu/mish/pa/TIMand judgmentsלַעֲשֹׂתְכֶםla/a/sot/KHEMthat you might doאֹתָםo/TAMthemבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areעֹבְרִיםov/RIMgo overשָׁמָּהSHAM/maintoלְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃le/rish/TAto possess it

    And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

    וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּםve/nish/mar/TEMtake good heed thereforeמְאֹדme/ODveryלְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםle/naf/sho/te/KHEMto yourselvesכִּיkiforלֹאlonotרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMyou sawכׇּל־תְּמוּנָהkol-te/mu/NAany formבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the dayדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youבְּחֹרֵבbe/Cho/REVat Horebמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofהָאֵשׁ׃ha/ESHthe fire

    Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

    פֶּן־תַּשְׁחִתוּןpen-tash/chi/TUNlest you should act corruptlyוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand makeלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesפֶּסֶלPE/sela graven imageתְּמוּנַתte/MU/natthe likeness ofכׇּל־סָמֶלkol-SA/melany figureתַּבְנִיתtav/NITthe form ofזָכָרza/KHARmaleאוֹoorנְקֵבָה׃ne/ke/VAfemale

    Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

    תַּבְנִיתtav/NITthe form ofכׇּל־בְּהֵמָהkol-be/he/MAany beastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthתַּבְנִיתtav/NITthe form ofכׇּל־צִפּוֹרkol-tsip/PORany birdכָּנָףka/NAFwingedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּעוּףta/UFfliesבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃bash/sha/MA/yimin the heavens

    The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

    תַּבְנִיתtav/NITthe form ofכׇּל־רֹמֵשׂkol-ro/MESanything that creepsבָּאֲדָמָהba/a/da/MAon the groundתַּבְנִיתtav/NITthe form ofכׇּל־דָּגָהkol-da/GAany fishאֲשֶׁר־בַּמַּיִםa/SHER-bam/MA/yimthat is in the waterמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatbeneathלָאָרֶץ׃la/A/retsthe earth

    The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

    וּפֶן־תִּשָּׂאu/FEN-tis/SAand lest you lift upעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesהַשָּׁמַיְמָהhash/sha/MAY/mato heavenוְרָאִיתָve/ra/I/taand when you seeאֶת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁet-hash/SHE/meshthe sunוְאֶת־הַיָּרֵחַve/ET-hay/ya/RE/achand the moonוְאֶת־הַכּוֹכָבִיםve/ET-hak/ko/kha/VIMand the starsכֹּלkolallצְבָאtse/VAthe host ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְנִדַּחְתָּve/nid/dach/TAyou be drivenוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתָve/hish/ta/cha/VI/taand worshipלָהֶםla/HEMthemוַעֲבַדְתָּםva/a/vad/TAMand serve themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichחָלַקcha/LAKhas allottedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֹתָםo/TAMthemלְכֹלle/KHOLto allהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesתַּחַתTA/chatunderכׇּל־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃kol-hash/sha/MA/yimall the heavens

    And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

    וְאֶתְכֶםve/et/KHEMbut youלָקַחla/KACHhas takenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיּוֹצִאvay/yo/TSIand brought outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִכּוּרmik/KURout of the furnace ofהַבַּרְזֶלhab/bar/ZELironמִמִּצְרָיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egyptלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלוֹloHisלְעַםle/AMa people ofנַחֲלָהna/cha/LAinheritanceכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMas the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

    וַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDהִתְאַנַּף־בִּיhit/an/NAF-biwas angry with meעַל־דִּבְרֵיכֶםal-div/re/KHEMfor your sakesוַיִּשָּׁבַעvay/yish/sha/VAand sworeלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notעׇבְרִיov/RII should go overאֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּןet-Hay/yar/DENthe Jordanוּלְבִלְתִּי־בֹאu/le/vil/TI-voand that I should not go inאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsto the landהַטּוֹבָהhat/to/VAgoodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godנֹתֵןno/TENis givingלְךָle/KHAyouנַחֲלָה׃na/cha/LAfor an inheritance

    Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

  22. 22

    כִּיkiforאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמֵתmetmust dieבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niI must notעֹבֵרo/VERgo overאֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּןet-Hay/yar/DENthe Jordanוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youעֹבְרִיםov/RIMshall go overוִירִשְׁתֶּםvi/rish/TEMand possessאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landהַטּוֹבָהhat/to/VAgoodהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

    הִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUtake heedלָכֶםla/KHEMto yourselvesפֶּן־תִּשְׁכְּחוּpen-tish/ke/CHUlest you forgetאֶת־בְּרִיתet-be/RITthe covenant ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichכָּרַתka/RATHe madeעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand makeלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesפֶּסֶלPE/sela graven imageתְּמוּנַתte/MU/natthe likeness ofכֹּלkolanythingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוְּךָtsiv/ve/KHAhas commanded youיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָ׃e/lo/HE/khayour God

    Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.

    כִּיkiforיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֵשׁeshis a fireאֹכְלָהokh/LAconsumingהוּאhuHe isאֵלela Godקַנָּא׃kan/NAjealous

    For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

    כִּי־תוֹלִידki-to/LIDwhen you begetבָּנִיםba/NIMchildrenוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand children ofבָנִיםva/NIMchildrenוְנוֹשַׁנְתֶּםve/no/shan/TEMand you have remained longבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landוְהִשְׁחַתֶּםve/hish/chat/TEMand corrupt yourselvesוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand makeפֶּסֶלPE/sela graven imageתְּמוּנַתte/MU/natthe likeness ofכֹּלkolanythingוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand doהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָה־אֱלֹהֶיךָAdonai-e/lo/HE/khathe LORD your Godלְהַכְעִיסוֹ׃le/hakh/i/SOto provoke Him

    When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

    הַעִידֹתִיha/i/DO/tiI call to witnessבָכֶםva/KHEMagainst youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the earthכִּי־אָבֹדki-a/VODthat perishתֹּאבֵדוּןto/ve/DUNyou shall perishמַהֵרma/HERsoonמֵעַלme/ALfrom offהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areעֹבְרִיםov/RIMgo overאֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּןet-Hay/yar/DENthe JordanשָׁמָּהSHAM/maintoלְרִשְׁתָּהּle/rish/TAto possess itלֹא־תַאֲרִיכֻןlo-ta/a/ri/KHUNyou shall not prolongיָמִיםya/MIMyour daysעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon itכִּיkibutהִשָּׁמֵדhish/sha/MEDbe destroyedתִּשָּׁמֵדוּן׃tish/sha/me/DUNyou shall be destroyed

    I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

    And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

  28. 28

    וַעֲבַדְתֶּם־שָׁםva/a/vad/TEM-shamand there you shall serveאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofיְדֵיye/DEthe hands ofאָדָםa/DAMmanעֵץetswoodוָאֶבֶןva/E/venand stoneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יִרְאוּןlo-yir/UNneither seeוְלֹאve/LOnorיִשְׁמְעוּןyish/me/UNhearוְלֹאve/LOnorיֹאכְלוּןyo/khe/LUNeatוְלֹאve/LOnorיְרִיחֻן׃ye/ri/CHUNsmell

    And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

  29. 29

    וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּםu/vik/kash/TEMbut you shall seekמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godוּמָצָאתָu/ma/TSA/taand you shall findכִּיkiifתִדְרְשֶׁנּוּtid/re/SHEN/nuyou seek Himבְּכׇל־לְבָבְךָbe/KHOL-le/va/ve/KHAwith all your heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשֶׁךָ׃u/ve/KHOL-naf/SHE/khaand with all your soul

    But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

  30. 30

    בַּצַּרbats/TSARwhen in distressלְךָle/KHAyou areוּמְצָאוּךָu/me/tsa/U/khaand have come upon youכֹּלkolallהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITin the latterהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMdaysוְשַׁבְתָּve/shav/TAif you turnעַד־יְהֹוָהad-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godוְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAand obeyבְּקֹלוֹ׃be/ko/LOHis voice

    When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

  31. 31

    כִּיkiforאֵלelGodרַחוּםra/CHUMis mercifulיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלֹאlonotיַרְפְּךָyar/pe/KHAHe will fail youוְלֹאve/LOand notיַשְׁחִיתֶךָyash/chi/TE/khadestroy youוְלֹאve/LOand notיִשְׁכַּחyish/KACHforgetאֶת־בְּרִיתet-be/RITthe covenant ofאֲבֹתֶיךָa/vo/TE/khayour fathersאֲשֶרa/SHERwhichנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAHe sworeלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

  32. 32

    כִּיkiforשְׁאַל־נָאshe/AL-naask nowלְיָמִיםle/ya/MIMof the daysרִאשֹׁנִיםri/sho/NIMpastאֲשֶׁר־הָיוּa/SHER-ha/YUwhich wereלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youלְמִן־הַיּוֹםle/MIN-hay/YOMsince the dayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּרָאba/RAcreatedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאָדָםa/DAMmanעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsupon the earthוּלְמִקְצֵהu/le/mik/TSEand from one end ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְעַד־קְצֵהve/AD-ke/TSEto the other end ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensהֲנִהְיָהha/nih/YAwhether there has beenכַּדָּבָרkad/da/VARlike the thingהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאוֹoorהֲנִשְׁמַעha/nish/MAhas been heardכָּמֹהוּ׃ka/MO/hulike it

    For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

  33. 33

    הֲשָׁמַעha/SHA/madid ever hearעָםama peopleקוֹלkolthe voice ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingמִתּוֹךְ־הָאֵשׁmit/TOKH-ha/ESHfrom the midst of the fireכַּאֲשֶׁר־שָׁמַעְתָּka/a/SHER-sha/MA/taas you have heardאַתָּהat/TAyouוַיֶּחִי׃vay/YE/chiand live

    Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

  34. 34

    אוֹoorהֲנִסָּהha/nis/SAhas triedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלָבוֹאla/VOto goלָקַחַתla/KA/chatand takeלוֹlofor Himselfגוֹיgoya nationמִקֶּרֶבmik/KE/revfrom the midst ofגּוֹיgoyanother nationבְּמַסֹּתbe/mas/SOTby trialsבְּאֹתֹתbe/o/TOTby signsוּבְמוֹפְתִיםu/ve/mof/TIMand by wondersוּבְמִלְחָמָהu/ve/mil/cha/MAand by warוּבְיָדu/ve/YADand by a handחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAmightyוּבִזְרוֹעַu/viz/RO/aand by an armנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAoutstretchedוּבְמוֹרָאִיםu/ve/mo/ra/IMand by terrorsגְּדֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreatכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAwhich didלָכֶםla/KHEMto youיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godבְּמִצְרַיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptלְעֵינֶיךָ׃le/e/NE/khabefore your eyes

    Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

  35. 35

    אַתָּהat/TAyouהׇרְאֵתָhor/E/tait was shownלָדַעַתla/DA/atthat you might knowכִּיkithatיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּאhuHeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMis Godאֵיןenthere is noneעוֹדodelseמִלְּבַדּוֹ׃mil/le/vad/DObesides him

    Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

  36. 36

    מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensהִשְׁמִיעֲךָhish/mi/a/KHAHe made you hearאֶת־קֹלוֹet-ko/LOHis voiceלְיַסְּרֶךָּle/yas/se/REK/kathat He might instruct youוְעַל־הָאָרֶץve/AL-ha/A/retsand on earthהֶרְאֲךָher/a/KHAHe showed youאֶת־אִשּׁוֹet-ish/SHOHis fireהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatוּדְבָרָיוu/de/va/RAYVand His wordsשָׁמַעְתָּsha/MA/tayou heardמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofהָאֵשׁ׃ha/ESHthe fire

    Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

  37. 37

    וְתַחַתve/TA/chatand becauseכִּיkithatאָהַבa/HAVHe lovedאֶת־אֲבֹתֶיךָet-a/vo/TE/khayour fathersוַיִּבְחַרvay/yiv/CHARtherefore He choseבְּזַרְעוֹbe/zar/Ohis seedאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himוַיּוֹצִאֲךָvay/yo/tsi/a/KHAand brought you outבְּפָנָיוbe/fa/NAYVwith His presenceבְּכֹחוֹbe/kho/CHOin His powerהַגָּדֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatמִמִּצְרָיִם׃mim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egypt

    And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

  38. 38

    לְהוֹרִישׁle/ho/RISHto drive outגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsגְּדֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreaterוַעֲצֻמִיםva/a/tsu/MIMand mightierמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAthan youמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khafrom before youלַהֲבִיאֲךָla/ha/vi/a/KHAto bring you inלָתֶת־לְךָLA/tet-le/KHAto give youאֶת־אַרְצָםet-ar/TSAMtheir own landנַחֲלָהna/cha/LAfor an inheritanceכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMas the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

  39. 39

    וְיָדַעְתָּve/ya/da/TAknow thereforeהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayוַהֲשֵׁבֹתָva/ha/she/vo/TAand consider itאֶל־לְבָבֶךָel-le/va/VE/khain your heartכִּיkithatיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּאhuHeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMis Godבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveוְעַל־הָאָרֶץve/AL-ha/A/retsand on the earthמִתָּחַתmit/TA/chatbeneathאֵיןenthere is noneעוֹד׃odelse

    Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

  40. 40

    וְשָׁמַרְתָּve/sha/mar/TAyou shall keep thereforeאֶת־חֻקָּיוet-chuk/KAYVHis statutesוְאֶת־מִצְוֺתָיוve/ET-mits/vo/TAYVand His commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְצַוְּךָme/tsav/ve/KHAam commanding youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִיטַבyi/TAVit may go wellלְךָle/KHAwith youוּלְבָנֶיךָu/le/va/NE/khaand with your childrenאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youוּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand thatתַּאֲרִיךְta/a/RIKHyou may prolongיָמִיםya/MIMyour daysעַל־הָאֲדָמָהal-ha/a/da/MAupon the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godנֹתֵןno/TENis givingלְךָle/KHAyouכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMall the days

    Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

  41. 41

    אָזazthenיַבְדִּילyav/DILset apartמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesבְּעֵבֶרbe/E/verbeyondהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanמִזְרְחָהmiz/re/CHAtoward the rising ofשָׁמֶשׁ׃SHA/meshthe sun

    Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

  42. 42

    לָנֻסla/NUSthat might fleeשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereרוֹצֵחַro/TSE/achthe manslayerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִרְצַחyir/TSACHkillsאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborבִּבְלִי־דַעַתbiv/LI-DA/atunawaresוְהוּאve/HUand heלֹא־שֹׂנֵאlo-so/NEhated notלוֹlohimמִתְּמֹלmit/te/MOLin timesשִׁלְשֹׁםshil/SHOMpastוְנָסve/NASand that fleeingאֶל־אַחַתel-a/CHATto oneמִן־הֶעָרִיםmin-he/a/RIMof the citiesהָאֵלha/ELtheseוָחָי׃va/CHAYhe might live

    That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

  43. 43

    אֶת־בֶּצֶרet-BE/tserBezerבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofהַמִּישֹׁרham/mi/SHORthe plainלָראוּבֵנִיlaR/u/ve/NIfor the Reubenitesוְאֶת־רָאמֹתve/ET-ra/MOTand Ramothבַּגִּלְעָדbag/Gil/ADin Gileadלַגָּדִיlag/Ga/DIfor the Gaditesוְאֶת־גּוֹלָןve/ET-go/LANand Golanבַּבָּשָׁןbab/Ba/SHANin Bashanלַמְנַשִּׁי׃Lam/nash/SHIfor the Manassites

    Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

  44. 44

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand this isהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawאֲשֶׁר־שָׂםa/SHER-samwhich setמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

  45. 45

    אֵלֶּהEL/lethese areהָעֵדֹתha/e/DOTthe testimoniesוְהַחֻקִּיםve/ha/chuk/KIMand the statutesוְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ham/mish/pa/TIMand the judgmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּצֵאתָםbe/tse/TAMwhen they came outמִמִּצְרָיִם׃mim/Mits/RA/yimfrom Egypt

    These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,

    בְּעֵבֶרbe/E/verbeyondהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanבַּגַּיְאbag/GAYin the valleyמוּלmuloppositeבֵּיתBetBeth-פְּעוֹרpe/ORpeorבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofסִיחֹןSi/CHONSihonמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהָאֱמֹרִיha/E/mo/RIthe Amoritesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVdweltבְּחֶשְׁבּוֹןbe/Chesh/BONin Heshbonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהִכָּהhik/KAstruckמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּצֵאתָםbe/tse/TAMwhen they came outמִמִּצְרָיִם׃mim/Mits/RA/yimfrom Egypt

    On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

  47. 47

    וַיִּירְשׁוּvay/yi/re/SHUand they possessedאֶת־אַרְצוֹet-ar/TSOhis landוְאֶת־אֶרֶץve/ET-E/retsand the land ofעוֹגOgOgמֶלֶךְ־הַבָּשָׁןME/lekh-Hab/ba/SHANthe king of Bashanשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofהָאֱמֹרִיha/E/mo/RIthe Amoritesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּעֵבֶרbe/E/verbeyondהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanמִזְרַחmiz/RACHtoward the rising ofשָׁמֶשׁ׃SHA/meshthe sun

    And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

    מֵעֲרֹעֵרme/A/ro/ERfrom Aroerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isעַל־שְׂפַת־נַחַלal-se/FAT-NA/chalon the edge of the valley ofאַרְנֹןAr/NONArnonוְעַד־הַרve/AD-hareven to MountשִׂיאֹןSi/ONSionהוּאhuwhich isחֶרְמוֹן׃Cher/MONHermon

    From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

  49. 49

    וְכׇל־הָעֲרָבָהve/KHOL-ha/a/ra/VAand all the ArabahעֵבֶרE/verbeyondהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanמִזְרָחָהmiz/RA/chaeastwardוְעַדve/ADeven toיָםyamthe sea ofהָעֲרָבָהha/A/ra/VAthe ArabahתַּחַתTA/chatunderאַשְׁדֹּתash/DOTthe slopes ofהַפִּסְגָּה׃Hap/pis/GAPisgah

    And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
