    אֵת־כׇּל־הַדָּבָרthe entire matterאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIמְצַוֶּהcommandאֶתְכֶםyouאֹתוֹitתִשְׁמְרוּshall you be carefulלַעֲשׂוֹתto doלֹא־תֹסֵףyou shall not addעָלָיוto itוְלֹאand notתִגְרַעyou shall subtractמִמֶּנּוּ׃from it

    What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

    כִּי־יָקוּםif there should ariseבְּקִרְבְּךָin your midstנָבִיאa prophetאוֹorחֹלֵםa dreamer ofחֲלוֹםa dreamוְנָתַןand he shall giveאֵלֶיךָto youאוֹתa signאוֹorמוֹפֵת׃a miracle

    If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

    וּבָאand comeהָאוֹתthe signוְהַמּוֹפֵתand the wonderאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרwhich spokeאֵלֶיךָto youלֵאמֹרsayingנֵלְכָהlet us goאַחֲרֵיafterאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםother godsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יְדַעְתָּםnot did you know themוְנׇעׇבְדֵם׃and let us serve them

    And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

    לֹאnotתִשְׁמַעyou shall hearkenאֶל־דִּבְרֵיto the words ofהַנָּבִיאthe prophetהַהוּאthatאוֹorאֶל־חוֹלֵםto the dreamer ofהַחֲלוֹםthe dreamהַהוּאthatכִּיforמְנַסֶּהis testingיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godאֶתְכֶםyouלָדַעַתto knowהֲיִשְׁכֶםwhether youאֹהֲבִיםloveאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godבְּכׇל־לְבַבְכֶםin all your heartsוּבְכׇל־נַפְשְׁכֶם׃and in all your souls

    Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

    אַחֲרֵיafterיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godתֵּלֵכוּyou will walkוְאֹתוֹand Himתִירָאוּyou will fearוְאֶת־מִצְוֺתָיוand His commandmentsתִּשְׁמֹרוּyou will observeוּבְקֹלוֹand to His voiceתִשְׁמָעוּyou will hearוְאֹתוֹand Himתַעֲבֹדוּyou will serveוּבוֹand to Himתִדְבָּקוּן׃you will cleave

    Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

    וְהַנָּבִיאand the prophetהַהוּאthatאוֹorחֹלֵםa dreamer ofהַחֲלוֹםthe dreamהַהוּאthatיוּמָתhe shall be put to deathכִּיbecauseדִבֶּר־סָרָהhe has spoken revoltעַל־יְהֹוָהagainst the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godהַמּוֹצִיאwho broughtאֶתְכֶםyouמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptוְהַפֹּדְךָand the one who redeemed youמִבֵּיתfrom the house ofעֲבָדִיםservantsלְהַדִּיחֲךָto thrust you asideמִן־הַדֶּרֶךְout of the wayאֲשֶׁרwhichצִוְּךָhas commanded youיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלָלֶכֶתto goבָּהּin itוּבִעַרְתָּand you will removeהָרָעthat which is evilמִקִּרְבֶּךָ׃from your midst

    And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

    כִּיifיְסִיתְךָhe will entice youאָחִיךָyour brotherבֶן־אִמֶּךָson of your motherאוֹ־בִנְךָor your sonאוֹ־בִתְּךָor your daughterאוֹorאֵשֶׁתthe wife ofחֵיקֶךָyour bosomאוֹorרֵעֲךָyour neighborאֲשֶׁרwhichכְּנַפְשְׁךָas your own soulבַּסֵּתֶרin secretלֵאמֹרsayingנֵלְכָהlet us goוְנַעַבְדָהso let us serveאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםother godsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹאnotיָדַעְתָּyou knowאַתָּהyouוַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃and your ancestors

    If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

    מֵאֱלֹהֵיany of the gods ofהָעַמִּיםthe peopleאֲשֶׁרwhichסְבִיבֹתֵיכֶםare around youהַקְּרֹבִיםwho are nearאֵלֶיךָto youאוֹorהָרְחֹקִיםthe distantמִמֶּךָּfrom youמִקְצֵהfrom the end ofהָאָרֶץthe earthוְעַד־קְצֵהand unto ends ofהָאָרֶץ׃the earth

    Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

    לֹא־תֹאבֶהyou shall not consentלוֹto himוְלֹאand notתִשְׁמַעyou shall hearkenאֵלָיוto himוְלֹא־תָחוֹסand not it will look with pityעֵינְךָyour eyeעָלָיוupon himוְלֹא־תַחְמֹלand not you will spare himוְלֹא־תְכַסֶּהand not you will coverעָלָיו׃upon him

    Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

  10. 10

    כִּיbutהָרֹגsurelyתַּהַרְגֶנּוּyou will kill himיָדְךָyour handתִּהְיֶה־בּוֹshall be against himבָרִאשׁוֹנָהat the firstלַהֲמִיתוֹto slay himוְיַדand the hand ofכׇּל־הָעָםall the peopleבָּאַחֲרֹנָה׃at the last

    But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

    וּסְקַלְתּוֹand you will stone himבָאֲבָנִיםwith stonesוָמֵתthat he dieכִּיbecauseבִקֵּשׁhe soughtלְהַדִּיחֲךָto thrust you asideמֵעַלfrom uponיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godהַמּוֹצִיאֲךָwho brought you outמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptמִבֵּיתfrom the house ofעֲבָדִים׃servants

    And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

    וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלand all Israelיִשְׁמְעוּthey hearkenוְיִרָאוּןand they will fearוְלֹא־יוֹסִפוּand not they shall againלַעֲשׂוֹתto doכַּדָּבָרaccording to the wordהָרָעthat which is evilהַזֶּהthisבְּקִרְבֶּךָ׃in your midst

    And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

    כִּי־תִשְׁמַעif you hearבְּאַחַתin oneעָרֶיךָyour citiesאֲשֶׁרwhichיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godנֹתֵןgivingלְךָfor youלָשֶׁבֶתto dwellשָׁםthereלֵאמֹר׃saying

    If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,

  14. 14

    יָצְאוּwent forthאֲנָשִׁיםmenבְּנֵי־בְלִיַּעַלsons of Belialמִקִּרְבֶּךָfrom your midstוַיַּדִּיחוּand they have thrust asideאֶת־יֹשְׁבֵיthe inhabitants ofעִירָםtheir cityלֵאמֹרsayingנֵלְכָהlet us goוְנַעַבְדָהso let us serveאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםother godsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יְדַעְתֶּם׃not you know

    Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

  15. 15

    וְדָרַשְׁתָּand you will investigateוְחָקַרְתָּand you will searchוְשָׁאַלְתָּand you will enquireהֵיטֵבwellוְהִנֵּהand beholdאֱמֶתtruthנָכוֹןestablishedהַדָּבָרthe wordנֶעֶשְׂתָהit was doneהַתּוֹעֵבָהthe abominationהַזֹּאתthisבְּקִרְבֶּךָ׃in your midst

    Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;

    הַכֵּהutterlyתַכֶּהyou shall strikeאֶת־יֹשְׁבֵיthe inhabitants ofהָעִירthe cityהַהִואthatלְפִי־חָרֶבby the edge of the swordהַחֲרֵםutterly destroyingאֹתָהּitוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּand all that is in itוְאֶת־בְּהֶמְתָּהּand its livestockלְפִי־חָרֶב׃by the edge of the sword

    Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

  17. 17

    וְאֶת־כׇּל־שְׁלָלָהּand all its plunderתִּקְבֹּץyou will gatherאֶל־תּוֹךְinto the midst ofרְחֹבָהּits open placeוְשָׂרַפְתָּand you will burnבָאֵשׁin fireאֶת־הָעִירthe cityוְאֶת־כׇּל־שְׁלָלָהּand all its plunderכָּלִילutterlyלַיהֹוָהto the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godוְהָיְתָהand it shall beתֵּלa heapעוֹלָםforeverלֹאnotתִבָּנֶהit will be builtעוֹד׃any more

    And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

  18. 18

    וְלֹא־יִדְבַּקand not it will clingבְּיָדְךָin your handמְאוּמָהanythingמִן־הַחֵרֶםfrom the devoted thingלְמַעַןin order thatיָשׁוּבshall returnיְהֹוָהthe LORDמֵחֲרוֹןfrom the burning ofאַפּוֹHis wrathוְנָתַן־לְךָand give to youרַחֲמִיםmercyוְרִחַמְךָand he will have compassion on youוְהִרְבֶּךָand he will increase youכַּאֲשֶׁרasנִשְׁבַּעsworeלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃to your ancestors

    And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

  19. 19

    כִּיwhenתִשְׁמַעyou hearkenבְּקוֹלthe voice ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godלִשְׁמֹרto keepאֶת־כׇּל־מִצְוֺתָיוall His commandmentsאֲשֶׁרwhichאָנֹכִיIמְצַוְּךָam commanding youהַיּוֹםthe dayלַעֲשׂוֹתto doהַיָּשָׁרthe rightבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָ׃your God

    When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
