Daniel 11 דָּנִיֵּאל פרק י״א

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofאַחַתa/CHAToneלְדָרְיָוֶשׁle/Da/re/YA/veshof Dariusהַמָּדִיham/Ma/DIthe Medeעׇמְדִיom/DII stoodלְמַחֲזִיקle/ma/cha/ZIKto confirmוּלְמָעוֹזu/le/ma/OZand to strengthenלוֹ׃lohim

   Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.

2. 2

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֱמֶתe/METtruthאַגִּידag/GIDI will tellלָךְlakhyouהִנֵּה־עוֹדhin/NE-odbehold yetשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsעֹמְדִיםom/DIMwill stand upלְפָרַסle/Fa/RASin Persiaוְהָרְבִיעִיve/ha/re/vi/Iand the fourthיַעֲשִׁירya/a/SHIRwill be richעֹשֶׁר־גָּדוֹלO/sher-ga/DOLwith great richesמִכֹּלmik/KOLbeyond allוּכְחֶזְקָתוֹu/khe/chez/ka/TOand when he is strongבְעׇשְׁרוֹve/osh/ROthrough his richesיָעִירya/IRhe will stir upהַכֹּלhak/KOLallאֵת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTagainst the kingdom ofיָוָן׃Ya/VANGreece

   And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

3. 3

   וְעָמַדve/a/MADand will stand upמֶלֶךְME/lekha kingגִּבּוֹרgib/BORmightyוּמָשַׁלu/ma/SHALand will ruleמִמְשָׁלmim/SHALa dominionרַבravgreatוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand doכִּרְצוֹנוֹ׃kir/tso/NOaccording to his will

   And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.

   וּכְעׇמְדוֹu/khe/om/DOand when he has stood upתִּשָּׁבֵרtish/sha/VERwill be brokenמַלְכוּתוֹmal/khu/TOhis kingdomוְתֵחָץve/te/CHATSand be dividedלְאַרְבַּעle/ar/BAtoward the fourרוּחוֹתru/CHOTwinds ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְלֹאve/LOand notלְאַחֲרִיתוֹle/a/cha/ri/TOto his posterityוְלֹאve/LOand notכְמׇשְׁלוֹkhe/mosh/LOaccording to his dominionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמָשָׁלma/SHALhe ruledכִּיkiforתִנָּתֵשׁtin/na/TESHwill be plucked upמַלְכוּתוֹmal/khu/TOhis kingdomוְלַאֲחֵרִיםve/la/a/che/RIMand go to othersמִלְּבַד־אֵלֶּה׃mil/le/VAD-EL/lebesides these

   And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.

   וְיֶחֱזַקve/ye/che/ZAKand will be strongמֶלֶךְ־הַנֶּגֶבME/lekh-han/NE/gevthe king of the southוּמִן־שָׂרָיוu/MIN-sa/RAYVand one of his princesוְיֶחֱזַקve/ye/che/ZAKand will be strongerעָלָיוa/LAYVthan heוּמָשָׁלu/ma/SHALand will ruleמִמְשָׁלmim/SHALa dominionרַבravgreatמֶמְשַׁלְתּוֹ׃mem/shal/TOhis dominion

   And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.

   וּלְקֵץu/le/KETSand at the end ofשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsיִתְחַבָּרוּyit/chab/BA/ruthey will join togetherוּבַתu/VATand the daughter ofמֶלֶךְ־הַנֶּגֶבME/lekh-han/NE/gevthe king of the southתָּבוֹאta/VOwill comeאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeמֵישָׁרִיםme/sha/RIMan agreementוְלֹא־תַעְצֹרve/LO-ta/TSORbut she will not retainכּוֹחַKO/achthe power ofהַזְּרוֹעַhaz/ze/RO/athe armוְלֹאve/LOand notיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODwill he standוּזְרֹעוֹu/ze/ro/Onor his armוְתִנָּתֵןve/tin/na/TENand will be given upהִיאhisheוּמְבִיאֶיהָu/me/vi/E/haand those who brought herוְהַיֹּלְדָהּve/hay/yol/DAand he who begot herוּמַחֲזִקָהּu/ma/cha/zi/KAand he who strengthened herבָּעִתִּים׃ba/it/TIMin those times

   And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.

   וְעָמַדve/a/MADand will stand upמִנֵּצֶרmin/NE/tserout of a branch ofשׇׁרָשֶׁיהָsho/ra/SHE/haher rootsכַּנּוֹkan/NOin his placeוְיָבֹאve/ya/VOand will comeאֶל־הַחַיִלel-ha/CHA/yilagainst the armyוְיָבֹאve/ya/VOand will comeבְּמָעוֹזbe/ma/OZinto the fortress ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand will dealבָהֶםva/HEMagainst themוְהֶחֱזִיק׃ve/he/che/ZIKand prevail

   But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:

8. 8

   וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir godsעִם־נְסִכֵיהֶםim-ne/si/khe/HEMwith their molten imagesעִם־כְּלֵיim-ke/LEwith vessels ofחֶמְדָּתָםchem/da/TAMtheir desireכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldבַּשְּׁבִיbash/she/VIinto captivityיָבִאya/VIwill he carryמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimto Egyptוְהוּאve/HUand heשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODwill standמִמֶּלֶךְmim/ME/lekhmore than the king ofהַצָּפוֹן׃hats/tsa/FONthe north

   And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.

9. 9

   וּבָאu/VAand will comeבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTinto the kingdom ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southוְשָׁבve/SHAVand returnאֶל־אַדְמָתוֹ׃el-ad/ma/TOto his land

   So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.

10. 10

    וּבָנָוu/va/NAVand his sonsיִתְגָּרוּyit/ga/RUwill stir themselves upוְאָסְפוּve/a/se/FUand assembleהֲמוֹןha/MONa multitude ofחֲיָלִיםcha/ya/LIMforcesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוּבָאu/VAand will comeבוֹאvocomeוְשָׁטַףve/sha/TAFand overflowוְעָבָרve/a/VARand pass throughוְיָשֹׁבve/ya/SHOVand return[וְיִתְגָּרֶה]ve/yit/ga/REand stir himself upעַד־מָעֻזֹּה׃ad-ma/uz/ZOto his fortress

    But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.

11. 11

    וְיִתְמַרְמַרve/yit/mar/MARand will be enragedמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand come outוְנִלְחַםve/nil/CHAMand fightעִמּוֹim/MOwith himעִם־מֶלֶךְim-ME/lekhwith the king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northוְהֶעֱמִידve/he/e/MIDand he will raiseהָמוֹןha/MONa multitudeרָבravgreatוְנִתַּןve/nit/TANbut will be givenהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeבְּיָדוֹ׃be/ya/DOinto his hand

    And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.

12. 12

    וְנִשָּׂאve/nis/SAand will be carried awayהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitude(ירום)yaravam[וְרָם]ve/RAMwill be lifted upלְבָבוֹle/va/VOhis heartוְהִפִּילve/hip/PILand he will cast downרִבֹּאוֹתrib/bo/OTtens of thousandsוְלֹאve/LObut notיָעוֹז׃ya/OZwill he prevail

    And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.

13. 13

    וְשָׁבve/SHAVand will returnמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northוְהֶעֱמִידve/he/e/MIDand raiseהָמוֹןha/MONa multitudeרַבravgreaterמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹןmin-ha/ri/SHONthan the firstוּלְקֵץu/le/KETSand at the end ofהָעִתִּיםha/it/TIMthe timesשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsיָבוֹאya/VOwill comeבוֹאvocomeבְּחַיִלbe/CHA/yilwith an armyגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוּבִרְכוּשׁu/vir/KHUSHand with goodsרָב׃ravmuch

    For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.

14. 14

    וּבָעִתִּיםu/va/it/TIMand in the timesהָהֵםha/HEMthoseרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyיַעַמְדוּya/am/DUwill stand upעַל־מֶלֶךְal-ME/lekhagainst the king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofפָּרִיצֵיpa/ri/TSEthe violent ofעַמְּךָam/me/KHAyour peopleיִנַּשְּׂאוּyin/nas/se/Uwill lift themselves upלְהַעֲמִידle/ha/a/MIDto establishחָזוֹןcha/ZONthe visionוְנִכְשָׁלוּ׃ve/nikh/SHA/lubut they will stumble

    And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.

15. 15

    וְיָבֹאve/ya/VOand will comeמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northוְיִשְׁפֹּךְve/yish/POKHand cast upסוֹלְלָהsol/LAa siege moundוְלָכַדve/la/KHADand takeעִירira city ofמִבְצָרוֹתmiv/tsa/ROTfortificationsוּזְרֹעוֹתu/ze/ro/OTand the forces ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southלֹאlonotיַעֲמֹדוּya/a/MO/duwill standוְעַםve/AMand the people ofמִבְחָרָיוmiv/cha/RAYVhis choice onesוְאֵיןve/ENand there will be noכֹּחַKO/achstrengthלַעֲמֹד׃la/a/MODto stand

    So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.

16. 16

    וְיַעַשׂve/YA/asand will doהַבָּאhab/BAthe one who comesאֵלָיוe/LAYVagainst himכִּרְצוֹנוֹkir/tso/NOaccording to his willוְאֵיןve/ENand noneעוֹמֵדo/MEDwill standלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוְיַעֲמֹדve/ya/a/MODand he will standבְּאֶרֶץ־הַצְּבִיbe/E/rets-hats/tse/VIin the glorious landוְכָלָהve/kha/LAwith destructionבְיָדוֹ׃ve/ya/DOin his hand

    But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.

17. 17

    וְיָשֵׂםve/ya/SEMand he will setפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceלָבוֹאla/VOto comeבְּתֹקֶףbe/TO/kefwith the strength ofכׇּל־מַלְכוּתוֹkol-mal/khu/TOhis whole kingdomוִישָׁרִיםvi/sha/RIMand terms of agreementעִמּוֹim/MOwith himוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand he will make themוּבַתu/VATand daughter ofהַנָּשִׁיםhan/na/SHIMwomenיִתֶּן־לוֹyit/TEN-lohe will give himלְהַשְׁחִיתָהּle/hash/chi/TAto destroy itוְלֹאve/LObut notתַעֲמֹדta/a/MODwill she standוְלֹא־לוֹve/LO-lonor be for himתִהְיֶה׃tih/YEbe

    He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.

18. 18

    (וישב)vayashav[וְיָשֵׂם]ve/ya/SEMand he will turnפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceלְאִיִּיםle/iy/YIMto the coastlandsוְלָכַדve/la/KHADand takeרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְהִשְׁבִּיתve/hish/BITbut will make ceaseקָצִיןka/TSINa commanderחֶרְפָּתוֹcher/pa/TOhis reproachלוֹlofor himבִּלְתִּיbil/TIyesחֶרְפָּתוֹcher/pa/TOhis reproachיָשִׁיבya/SHIVhe will turn backלוֹ׃loon him

    After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.

19. 19

    וְיָשֵׁבve/ya/SHEVand he will turnפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceלְמָעוּזֵּיle/ma/uz/ZEtoward the fortresses ofאַרְצוֹar/TSOhis landוְנִכְשַׁלve/nikh/SHALbut he will stumbleוְנָפַלve/na/FALand fellוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמָּצֵא׃yim/ma/TSEbe found

    Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.

20. 20

    וְעָמַדve/a/MADand will stand upעַל־כַּנּוֹal-kan/NOin his placeמַעֲבִירma/a/VIRone who sendsנוֹגֵשׂno/GESan exactorהֶדֶרHE/derthrough the glory ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdomוּבְיָמִיםu/ve/ya/MIMbut within daysאֲחָדִיםa/cha/DIMfewיִשָּׁבֵרyish/sha/VERit will be brokenוְלֹאve/LOand notבְאַפַּיִםve/ap/PA/yimin angerוְלֹאve/LOand notבְמִלְחָמָה׃ve/mil/cha/MAin battle

    Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

21. 21

    וְעָמַדve/a/MADand will stand upעַל־כַּנּוֹal-kan/NOin his placeנִבְזֶהniv/ZEa despised oneוְלֹא־נָתְנוּve/LO-na/te/NUto whom they did not giveעָלָיוa/LAYVhimהוֹדhodthe majesty ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdomוּבָאu/VAbut he will comeבְשַׁלְוָהve/shal/VAin quietוְהֶחֱזִיקve/he/che/ZIKand seizeמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdomבַּחֲלַקְלַקּוֹת׃ba/cha/lak/lak/KOTby flatteries

    And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

22. 22

    וּזְרֹעוֹתu/ze/ro/OTand the forces ofהַשֶּׁטֶףhash/SHE/tefthe floodיִשָּׁטְפוּyish/sha/te/FUwill be swept awayמִלְּפָנָיוmil/le/fa/NAYVfrom before himוְיִשָּׁבֵרוּve/yish/sha/VE/ruand be brokenוְגַםve/GAMand alsoנְגִידne/GIDthe prince ofבְּרִית׃be/RITthe covenant

    And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

23. 23

    וּמִן־הִתְחַבְּרוּתu/MIN-hit/chab/be/RUTand after the allianceאֵלָיוe/LAYVwith himיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe will workמִרְמָהmir/MAdeceitוְעָלָהve/a/LAand he will go upוְעָצַםve/a/TSAMand become strongבִּמְעַט־גּוֹי׃bim/AT-goywith a small nation

    And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

24. 24

    בְּשַׁלְוָהbe/shal/VAin quietוּבְמִשְׁמַנֵּיu/ve/mish/man/NEand into the richest places ofמְדִינָהme/di/NAthe provinceיָבוֹאya/VOhe will comeוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand doאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatלֹא־עָשׂוּlo-a/SUdid not doאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersוַאֲבוֹתva/a/VOTnor the fathers ofאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersבִּזָּהbiz/ZAspoilוְשָׁלָלve/sha/LALand plunderוּרְכוּשׁu/re/KHUSHand goodsלָהֶםla/HEMamong themיִבְזוֹרyiv/ZORhe will scatterוְעַלve/ALand againstמִבְצָרִיםmiv/tsa/RIMfortressesיְחַשֵּׁבye/chash/SHEVhe will deviseמַחְשְׁבֹתָיוmach/she/vo/TAYVhis devicesוְעַד־עֵת׃ve/AD-eteven for a time

    He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

25. 25

    וְיָעֵרve/ya/ERand he will stir upכֹּחוֹko/CHOhis strengthוּלְבָבוֹu/le/va/VOand his heartעַל־מֶלֶךְal-ME/lekhagainst the king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southבְּחַיִלbe/CHA/yilwith an armyגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southיִתְגָּרֶהyit/ga/REwill stir himself upלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAfor battleבְּחַיִל־גָּדוֹלbe/CHA/yil-ga/DOLwith a great armyוְעָצוּםve/a/TSUMand mightyעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODexceedinglyוְלֹאve/LObut notיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODwill he standכִּי־יַחְשְׁבוּki-yach/she/VUfor they will deviseעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himמַחֲשָׁבוֹת׃ma/cha/sha/VOTdevices

    And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.

26. 26

    וְאֹכְלֵיve/okh/LEand those who eatפַת־בָּגוֹfat-ba/GOhis delicaciesיִשְׁבְּרוּהוּyish/be/RU/huwill break himוְחֵילוֹve/che/LOand his armyיִשְׁטוֹףyish/TOFwill be swept awayוְנָפְלוּve/na/fe/LUand fallחֲלָלִיםcha/la/LIMslainרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.

27. 27

    וּשְׁנֵיהֶםu/she/ne/HEMand bothהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsלְבָבָםle/va/VAMtheir heartsלְמֵרָעle/me/RAwill be bent on evilוְעַל־שֻׁלְחָןve/AL-shul/CHANand at a tableאֶחָדe/CHADoneכָּזָבka/ZAVliesיְדַבֵּרוּye/dab/BE/ruthey will speakוְלֹאve/LObut notתִצְלָחtits/LACHwill it prosperכִּי־עוֹדki-odfor stillקֵץketsthe endלַמּוֹעֵד׃lam/mo/EDis at the appointed time

    And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

28. 28

    וְיָשֹׁבve/ya/SHOVand he will returnאַרְצוֹar/TSOto his landבִּרְכוּשׁbir/KHUSHwith goodsגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוּלְבָבוֹu/le/va/VOand his heartעַל־בְּרִיתal-be/RITagainst the covenant ofקֹדֶשׁKO/deshholinessוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand he will actוְשָׁבve/SHAVand returnלְאַרְצוֹ׃le/ar/TSOto his land

    Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

29. 29

    לַמּוֹעֵדlam/mo/EDat the appointed timeיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe will returnוּבָאu/VAand comeבַנֶּגֶבvan/NE/gevinto the southוְלֹא־תִהְיֶהve/LO-tih/YEbut it will not beכָרִאשֹׁנָהkha/ri/sho/NAas the firstוְכָאַחֲרוֹנָה׃ve/kha/a/cha/ro/NAor as the last

    At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.

30. 30

    וּבָאוּu/VA/uand will comeבוֹvoagainst himצִיִּיםtsiy/YIMships ofכִּתִּיםKit/TIMChittimוְנִכְאָהve/nikh/Aand he will be grievedוְשָׁבve/SHAVand returnוְזָעַםve/za/AMand he will be indignantעַל־בְּרִית־קוֹדֶשׁal-be/RIT-KO/deshagainst the holy covenantוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand actוְשָׁבve/SHAVand returnוְיָבֵןve/ya/VENand give heedעַל־עֹזְבֵיal-oz/VEto those who forsakeבְּרִיתbe/RITthe covenant ofקֹדֶשׁ׃KO/deshholiness

    For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

31. 31

    וּזְרֹעִיםu/ze/ro/IMand forcesמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himיַעֲמֹדוּya/a/MO/duwill standוְחִלְּלוּve/chil/le/LUand profaneהַמִּקְדָּשׁham/mik/DASHthe sanctuaryהַמָּעוֹזham/ma/OZthe fortressוְהֵסִירוּve/he/SI/ruand take awayהַתָּמִידhat/ta/MIDthe continual offeringוְנָתְנוּve/na/te/NUand set upהַשִּׁקּוּץhash/shik/KUTSthe abominationמְשֹׁמֵם׃me/sho/MEMthat makes desolate

    And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

32. 32

    וּמַרְשִׁיעֵיu/mar/shi/Eand those who do wickedly againstבְרִיתve/RITthe covenantיַחֲנִיףya/cha/NIFhe will corruptבַּחֲלַקּוֹתba/cha/lak/KOTby flatteriesוְעַםve/AMbut the peopleיֹדְעֵיyod/Ewho knowאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVtheir Godיַחֲזִקוּya/cha/ZI/kuwill be strongוְעָשׂוּ׃ve/a/SUand act

    And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

33. 33

    וּמַשְׂכִּילֵיu/mas/KI/leand the wise ofעָםamthe peopleיָבִינוּya/VI/nuwill instructלָרַבִּיםla/rab/BIMmanyוְנִכְשְׁלוּve/nikh/she/LUyet they will stumbleבְּחֶרֶבbe/CHE/revby swordוּבְלֶהָבָהu/ve/le/ha/VAand by flameבִּשְׁבִיbish/VIby captivityוּבְבִזָּהu/ve/viz/ZAand by spoilיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

    And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34. 34

    וּבְהִכָּשְׁלָםu/ve/hik/ka/she/LAMand when they stumbleיֵעָזְרוּye/a/ze/RUthey will be helpedעֵזֶרE/zerwith helpמְעָטme/ATa littleוְנִלְווּve/nil/VUbut will joinעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבַּחֲלַקְלַקּוֹת׃ba/cha/lak/lak/KOTwith flatteries

    Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35. 35

    וּמִן־הַמַּשְׂכִּילִיםu/MIN-ham/mas/ki/LIMand some of the wiseיִכָּשְׁלוּyik/ka/she/LUwill stumbleלִצְרוֹףlits/ROFto refineבָּהֶםba/HEMthemוּלְבָרֵרu/le/va/RERand to purifyוְלַלְבֵּןve/lal/BENand to make whiteעַד־עֵתad-etuntil the time ofקֵץketsthe endכִּי־עוֹדki-odfor it is stillלַמּוֹעֵד׃lam/mo/EDfor the appointed time

    And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

36. 36

    וְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand will doכִרְצֹנוֹkhir/tso/NOaccording to his willהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְיִתְרוֹמֵםve/yit/ro/MEMand he will exalt himselfוְיִתְגַּדֵּלve/yit/gad/DELand magnify himselfעַל־כׇּל־אֵלal-kol-elabove every godוְעַלve/ALand againstאֵלelthe God ofאֵלִיםe/LIMgodsיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERhe will speakנִפְלָאוֹתnif/la/OTastonishing thingsוְהִצְלִיחַve/hits/LI/achand he will prosperעַד־כָּלָהad-KA/launtil is completedזַעַםZA/amthe indignationכִּיkiforנֶחֱרָצָהne/che/ra/TSAwhat is decreedנֶעֱשָׂתָה׃ne/e/SA/tawill be done

    And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

37. 37

    וְעַל־אֱלֹהֵיve/AL-e/lo/HEand to the gods ofאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersלֹאlonotיָבִיןya/VINwill he give heedוְעַל־חֶמְדַּתve/AL-chem/DATnor to the desire ofנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenוְעַל־כׇּל־אֱלוֹהַּve/AL-kol-e/LO/ahnor any godלֹאlonotיָבִיןya/VINwill he give heedכִּיkiforעַל־כֹּלal-kolabove allיִתְגַּדָּל׃yit/gad/DALhe will magnify himself

    Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

38. 38

    וְלֶאֱלֹהַּve/le/e/LO/ahbut a god ofמָעֻזִּיםma/uz/ZIMfortressesעַל־כַּנּוֹal-kan/NOin his placeיְכַבֵּדye/khab/BEDhe will honorוְלֶאֱלוֹהַּve/le/e/LO/ahand a godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomלֹא־יְדָעֻהוּlo-ye/da/U/hudid not knowאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersיְכַבֵּדye/khab/BEDhe will honorבְּזָהָבbe/za/HAVwith goldוּבְכֶסֶףu/ve/KHE/sefand with silverוּבְאֶבֶןu/ve/E/venand with stonesיְקָרָהye/ka/RApreciousוּבַחֲמֻדוֹת׃u/va/cha/mu/DOTand with costly things

    But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

39. 39

    וְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand he will actלְמִבְצְרֵיle/miv/tse/REagainst the strongest ofמָעֻזִּיםma/uz/ZIMfortressesעִם־אֱלוֹהַּim-e/LO/ahwith a godנֵכָרne/KHARforeignאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhom(הכיר)hakhayar[יַכִּיר]yak/KIRhe acknowledgesיַרְבֶּהyar/BEhe will increase withכָבוֹדkha/VODgloryוְהִמְשִׁילָםve/him/shi/LAMand he will make them ruleבָּרַבִּיםba/rab/BIMover manyוַאֲדָמָהva/a/da/MAand landיְחַלֵּקye/chal/LEKhe will divideבִּמְחִיר׃bim/CHIRfor a price

    Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

40. 40

    וּבְעֵתu/ve/ETand at the time ofקֵץketsthe endיִתְנַגַּחyit/nag/GACHwill pushעִמּוֹim/MOat himמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe southוְיִשְׂתָּעֵרve/yis/ta/ERand will stormעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַצָּפוֹןhats/tsa/FONthe northבְּרֶכֶבbe/RE/khevwith chariotsוּבְפָרָשִׁיםu/ve/fa/ra/SHIMand with horsemenוּבׇאֳנִיּוֹתu/vo/o/niy/YOTand with shipsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוּבָאu/VAand he will comeבַאֲרָצוֹתva/a/ra/TSOTinto the landsוְשָׁטַףve/sha/TAFand overflowוְעָבָר׃ve/a/VARand pass through

    And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

41. 41

    וּבָאu/VAand he will comeבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsinto the land ofהַצְּבִיhats/tse/VIthe gloryוְרַבּוֹתve/rab/BOTand manyיִכָּשֵׁלוּyik/ka/SHE/luwill stumbleוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseיִמָּלְטוּyim/ma/le/TUwill escapeמִיָּדוֹmiy/ya/DOfrom his handאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomוּמוֹאָבu/Mo/AVand Moabוְרֵאשִׁיתve/re/SHITand the chief ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofעַמּוֹן׃Am/MONAmmon

    He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

42. 42

    וְיִשְׁלַחve/yish/LACHand he will stretch outיָדוֹya/DOhis handבַּאֲרָצוֹתba/a/ra/TSOTagainst the landsוְאֶרֶץve/E/retsand the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלֹאlonotתִהְיֶהtih/YEwill beלִפְלֵיטָה׃lif/le/TAan escape

    He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

43. 43

    וּמָשַׁלu/ma/SHALand he will ruleבְּמִכְמַנֵּיbe/mikh/man/NEover the treasures ofהַזָּהָבhaz/za/HAVthe goldוְהַכֶּסֶףve/hak/KE/sefand the silverוּבְכֹלu/ve/KHOLand over allחֲמֻדוֹתcha/mu/DOTthe precious things ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְלֻבִיםve/Lu/VIMand the Libyansוְכֻשִׁיםve/Khu/SHIMand the Cushitesבְּמִצְעָדָיו׃be/mits/a/DAYVat his steps

    But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

44. 44

    וּשְׁמֻעוֹתu/she/mu/OTbut reportsיְבַהֲלֻהוּye/va/ha/LU/huwill trouble himמִמִּזְרָחmim/miz/RACHfrom the eastוּמִצָּפוֹןu/mits/tsa/FONand from the northוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand he will go outבְּחֵמָאbe/che/MAwith furyגְדֹלָהge/do/LAgreatלְהַשְׁמִידle/hash/MIDto destroyוּלְהַחֲרִיםu/le/ha/cha/RIMand to devote to destructionרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

45. 45

    וְיִטַּעve/yit/TAand he will plantאׇהֳלֵיo/ho/LEthe tents ofאַפַּדְנוֹap/pad/NOhis palaceבֵּיןbenbetweenיַמִּיםyam/MIMthe seasלְהַר־צְבִי־קֹדֶשׁle/HAR-tse/VI-KO/deshand the glorious holy mountainוּבָאu/VAyet he will comeעַד־קִצּוֹad-kits/TSOto his endוְאֵיןve/ENand noneעוֹזֵרo/ZERwill helpלוֹ׃lohim

    And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
