Amos 2 עָמוֹס פרק ב׳

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־שְׁלֹשָׁהal-she/lo/SHAfor threeפִּשְׁעֵיpish/Etransgressions ofמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabוְעַל־אַרְבָּעָהve/AL-ar/ba/Aand for fourלֹאlonotאֲשִׁיבֶנּוּa/shi/VEN/nuwill I turn it backעַל־שׇׂרְפוֹal-sor/FObecause he burnedעַצְמוֹתats/MOTthe bones ofמֶלֶךְ־אֱדוֹםME/lekh-E/DOMthe king of Edomלַשִּׂיד׃las/SIDinto lime

   Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:

   וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵשׁve/shil/lach/TI-eshand I will send a fireבְּמוֹאָבbe/Mo/AVupon Moabוְאׇכְלָהve/okh/LAand shall devourאַרְמְנוֹתar/me/NOTthe palaces ofהַקְּרִיּוֹתHak/ke/riy/YOTKeriothוּמֵתu/METand shall dieבְּשָׁאוֹןbe/sha/ONwith tumultמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabבִּתְרוּעָהbit/ru/Awith shoutingבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith the sound ofשׁוֹפָר׃sho/FARthe shofar

   But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

   וְהִכְרַתִּיve/hikh/rat/TIand I will cut offשׁוֹפֵטsho/FETthe judgeמִקִּרְבָּהּmik/kir/BAfrom her midstוְכׇל־שָׂרֶיהָve/KHOL-sa/RE/haand all her princesאֶהֱרוֹגe/he/ROGI will slayעִמּוֹim/MOwith himאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD.

   Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:

   וְשִׁלַּחְתִּיve/shil/lach/TIand I will sendאֵשׁeshfireבִּיהוּדָהbI/hu/DAupon Judahוְאׇכְלָהve/okh/LAand shall devourאַרְמְנוֹתar/me/NOTthe palaces ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

   But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

   כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־שְׁלֹשָׁהal-she/lo/SHAfor threeפִּשְׁעֵיpish/Etransgressions ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְעַל־אַרְבָּעָהve/AL-ar/ba/Aand for fourלֹאlonotאֲשִׁיבֶנּוּa/shi/VEN/nuwill I turn it backעַל־מִכְרָםal-mikh/RAMbecause they soldבַּכֶּסֶףbak/KE/seffor silverצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand the needyבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURforנַעֲלָיִם׃na/a/LA/yima pair of sandals

   Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;

   הַשֹּׁאֲפִיםhash/sho/a/FIMthat pant afterעַל־עֲפַר־אֶרֶץal-a/FAR-E/retsthe dust of the earthבְּרֹאשׁbe/ROSHon the head ofדַּלִּיםdal/LIMthe poorוְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand the way ofעֲנָוִיםa/na/VIMthe meekיַטּוּyat/TUturn asideוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manוְאָבִיוve/a/VIVand his fatherיֵלְכוּyel/KHUgo inאֶל־הַנַּעֲרָהel-han/na/a/RAto the girlלְמַעַןle/MA/anin order toחַלֵּלchal/LELprofaneאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe name ofקׇדְשִׁי׃kod/SHImy holiness

   That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:

   וְעַל־בְּגָדִיםve/AL-be/ga/DIMand upon garmentsחֲבֻלִיםcha/vu/LIMtaken in pledgeיַטּוּyat/TUthey lay themselves downאֵצֶלE/tselbesideכׇּל־מִזְבֵּחַkol-miz/BE/achevery altarוְיֵיןve/YENand the wine ofעֲנוּשִׁיםa/nu/SHIMfinesיִשְׁתּוּyish/TUthey drinkבֵּיתbetin the house ofאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir gods

   And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

   וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIyet Iהִשְׁמַדְתִּיhish/MAD/tiI destroyedאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִיet-Ha/e/mo/RIthe Amoriteמִפְּנֵיהֶםmip/pe/ne/HEMfrom before themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseכְּגֹבַהּke/GO/valike the height ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsגׇּבְהוֹgov/HOhis heightוְחָסֹןve/cha/SONand strongהוּאhuhe wasכָּאַלּוֹנִיםka/al/lo/NIMas the oaksוָאַשְׁמִידva/ash/MIDand I destroyedפִּרְיוֹpir/YOhis fruitמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alfrom aboveוְשׇׁרָשָׁיוve/sho/ra/SHAYVand his rootsמִתָּחַת׃mit/TA/chatfrom beneath

   Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

    וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIalso Iהֶעֱלֵיתִיhe/e/LE/tiI brought upאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוָאוֹלֵךְva/o/LEKHand ledאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetto possessאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofהָאֱמֹרִי׃ha/E/mo/RIthe Amorite

    Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

    וָאָקִיםva/a/KIMand I raised upמִבְּנֵיכֶםmib/be/ne/KHEMof your sonsלִנְבִיאִיםlin/vi/IMfor prophetsוּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶםu/mib/ba/chu/re/KHEMand of your young menלִנְזִרִיםLin/zi/RIMfor Naziritesהַאַףha/AFis it evenאֵין־זֹאתen-zotnot thusבְּנֵיbe/NEO children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.

    וַתַּשְׁקוּvat/tash/KUbut you gave to drinkאֶת־הַנְּזִרִיםet-Han/ne/zi/RIMthe NaziritesיָיִןYA/yinwineוְעַל־הַנְּבִיאִיםve/AL-han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsצִוִּיתֶםtsiv/vi/TEMyou commandedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlonotתִּנָּבְאוּ׃tin/na/ve/Uprophesy

    But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

13. 13

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמֵעִיקme/IKam pressingתַּחְתֵּיכֶםtach/te/KHEMunder youכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasתָּעִיקta/IKpressesהָעֲגָלָהha/a/ga/LAthe cartהַמְלֵאָהham/le/Afullלָהּlafor itselfעָמִיר׃a/MIRsheaves

    Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

14. 14

    וְאָבַדve/a/VADand shall perishמָנוֹסma/NOSflightמִקָּלmik/KALfrom the swiftוְחָזָקve/cha/ZAKand the strongלֹא־יְאַמֵּץlo-ye/am/METSshall not strengthenכֹּחוֹko/CHOhis strengthוְגִבּוֹרve/gib/BORand the mightyלֹא־יְמַלֵּטlo-ye/mal/LETshall not deliverנַפְשׁוֹ׃naf/SHOhis soul

    Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

15. 15

    וְתֹפֵשׂve/to/FESand he that handlesהַקֶּשֶׁתhak/KE/shetthe bowלֹאlonotיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODshall standוְקַלve/KALand he that is swiftבְּרַגְלָיוbe/rag/LAYVof footלֹאlonotיְמַלֵּטye/mal/LETshall deliverוְרֹכֵבve/ro/KHEVand he that ridesהַסּוּסhas/SUSthe horseלֹאlonotיְמַלֵּטye/mal/LETshall deliverנַפְשׁוֹ׃naf/SHOhis soul

    Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.

16. 16

    וְאַמִּיץve/am/MITSand he that is courageousלִבּוֹlib/BOof heartבַּגִּבּוֹרִיםbag/gib/bo/RIMamong the mightyעָרוֹםa/ROMnakedיָנוּסya/NUSshall flee awayבַּיּוֹם־הַהוּאbay/YOM-ha/HUin that dayנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
