   And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

   וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDסַלְעִיsal/Imy rockוּמְצֻדָתִיu/me/tsu/da/TIand my fortressוּמְפַלְטִי־לִי׃u/me/fal/TI-liand my deliverer for me

   And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

   אֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofצוּרִיtsu/RImy rockאֶחֱסֶה־בּוֹe/che/SE-boI take refuge in Himמָגִנִּיma/gin/NImy shieldוְקֶרֶןve/KE/renand the horn ofיִשְׁעִיyish/Imy salvationמִשְׂגַּבִּיmis/gab/BImy high towerוּמְנוּסִיu/me/nu/SIand my refugeמֹשִׁעִיmo/shi/Imy saviorמֵחָמָסme/cha/MASfrom violenceתֹּשִׁעֵנִי׃to/shi/E/niYou save me

   The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

   מְהֻלָּלme/hul/LALpraisedאֶקְרָאek/RAI call onיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּמֵאֹיְבַיu/me/oy/VAYand from my enemiesאִוָּשֵׁעַ׃iv/va/SHE/aI am saved

   I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

   כִּיkiforאֲפָפֻנִיa/fa/FU/nisurrounded meמִשְׁבְּרֵי־מָוֶתmish/be/RE-MA/vetthe breakers of deathנַחֲלֵיNA/cha/lethe torrents ofבְלִיַּעַלve/liy/YA/alworthlessnessיְבַעֲתֻנִי׃ye/va/a/TU/niterrified me

   When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

   חֶבְלֵיchev/LEthe cords ofשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolסַבֻּנִיsab/BU/nisurrounded meקִדְּמֻנִיkid/de/MU/niconfronted meמֹקְשֵׁיMOK/shethe snares ofמָוֶת׃MA/vetdeath

   The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

   בַּצַּר־לִיbats/TSAR-liin my distressאֶקְרָאek/RAI callיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְאֶל־אֱלֹהַיve/EL-e/lo/HAYand to my Godאֶקְרָאek/RAI callוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand He heardמֵהֵיכָלוֹme/he/kha/LOfrom His templeקוֹלִיko/LImy voiceוְשַׁוְעָתִיve/shav/a/TIand my cryבְּאׇזְנָיו׃be/oz/NAYVin His ears

   In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

   (ותגעש)vatagsh[וַיִּתְגָּעַשׁ]vay/yit/ga/ASHand shookוַתִּרְעַשׁvat/tir/ASHand quakedהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthמוֹסְדוֹתmos/DOTthe foundations ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensיִרְגָּזוּyir/GA/zutrembledוַיִּתְגָּעֲשׁוּvay/yit/ga/a/SHUand shookכִּי־חָרָהki-CHA/rabecause it burnedלוֹ׃loto Him

   Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

   עָלָהa/LAwent upעָשָׁןa/SHANsmokeבְּאַפּוֹbe/ap/POin His nostrilsוְאֵשׁve/ESHand fireמִפִּיוmip/PIVfrom His mouthתֹּאכֵלto/KHELdevouredגֶּחָלִיםge/cha/LIMcoalsבָּעֲרוּba/a/RUburnedמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nufrom Him

   There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

    וַיֵּטvay/YETand He bowedשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensוַיֵּרַדvay/ye/RADand came downוַעֲרָפֶלva/a/ra/FELand thick darknessתַּחַתTA/chatunderרַגְלָיו׃rag/LAYVHis feet

    He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11. 11

    וַיִּרְכַּבvay/yir/KAVand He rodeעַל־כְּרוּבal-ke/RUVupon a cherubוַיָּעֹףvay/ya/OFand flewוַיֵּרָאvay/ye/RAand He was seenעַל־כַּנְפֵי־רוּחַ׃al-kan/FE-RU/achupon the wings of the wind

    And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12. 12

    וַיָּשֶׁתvay/YA/shetand He madeחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessסְבִיבֹתָיוse/vi/vo/TAYVaround Himסֻכּוֹתsuk/KOTpavilionsחַשְׁרַת־מַיִםchash/RAT-MA/yima gathering of watersעָבֵיa/VEthick clouds ofשְׁחָקִים׃she/cha/KIMthe skies

    And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13. 13

    מִנֹּגַהּmin/NO/gathrough the brightnessנֶגְדּוֹneg/DObefore Himבָּעֲרוּba/a/RUburnedגַּחֲלֵי־אֵשׁ׃ga/cha/LE-eshcoals of fire

    Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14. 14

    יַרְעֵםyar/EMthunderedמִן־שָׁמַיִםmin-sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְעֶלְיוֹןve/El/YONand the Most Highיִתֵּןyit/TENgaveקוֹלוֹ׃ko/LOHis voice

    The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15. 15

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand He sent outחִצִּיםchits/TSIMarrowsוַיְפִיצֵםvay/fi/TSEMand scattered themבָּרָקba/RAKlightning(ויהמם)vayahamam[וַיָּהֹם]׃vay/ya/HOMand confounded them

    And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16. 16

    וַיֵּרָאוּvay/ye/ra/Uand appearedאֲפִקֵיa/FI/kethe channels ofיָםyamthe seaיִגָּלוּyig/ga/LUwere laid bareמֹסְדוֹתmos/DOTthe foundations ofתֵּבֵלte/VELthe worldבְּגַעֲרַתbe/ga/a/RATat the rebuke ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִנִּשְׁמַתmin/nish/MATat the blast ofרוּחַRU/achthe breath ofאַפּוֹ׃ap/POHis nostrils

    And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

    יִשְׁלַחyish/LACHHe sentמִמָּרוֹםmim/ma/ROMfrom aboveיִקָּחֵנִיyik/ka/CHE/niHe took meיַמְשֵׁנִיyam/SHE/niHe drew me outמִמַּיִםmim/MA/yimfrom watersרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18. 18

    יַצִּילֵנִיyats/tsi/LE/niHe delivered meמֵאֹיְבִיme/oy/VIfrom my enemyעָזazstrongמִשֹּׂנְאַיmis/son/AYfrom those who hated meכִּיkiforאָמְצוּa/me/TSUthey were strongerמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nithan I

    He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19. 19

    יְקַדְּמֻנִיye/kad/de/MU/nithey confronted meבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofאֵידִיe/DImy calamityוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִשְׁעָןmish/ANa supportלִי׃lito me

    They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

20. 20

    וַיֹּצֵאvay/yo/TSEand He brought outלַמֶּרְחָבlam/mer/CHAVinto a large placeאֹתִיo/TImeיְחַלְּצֵנִיye/chal/le/TSE/niHe rescued meכִּי־חָפֵץki-cha/FETSfor He delightedבִּי׃biin me

    He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21. 21

    יִגְמְלֵנִיyig/me/LE/nirepaid meיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּצִדְקָתִיke/tsid/ka/TIaccording to my righteousnessכְּבֹרke/VORaccording to the cleanness ofיָדַיya/DAYmy handsיָשִׁיבya/SHIVHe returnedלִי׃lito me

    The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22. 22

    כִּיkiforשָׁמַרְתִּיsha/MAR/tiI have keptדַּרְכֵיdar/KHEthe ways ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְלֹאve/LOand notרָשַׁעְתִּיra/SHA/tihave I acted wickedlyמֵאֱלֹהָי׃me/e/lo/HAYfrom my God

    For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23. 23

    כִּיkiforכׇל־מִשְׁפָּטָוkhol-mish/pa/TAVall His judgmentsלְנֶגְדִּיle/neg/DIwere before meוְחֻקֹּתָיוve/chuk/ko/TAYVand His statutesלֹא־אָסוּרlo-a/SURI do not turn asideמִמֶּנָּה׃mim/MEN/nafrom it

    For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24. 24

    וָאֶהְיֶהva/eh/YEand I wasתָמִיםta/MIMblamelessלוֹloto Himוָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָהva/esh/tam/me/RAand have kept myselfמֵעֲוֺנִי׃me/a/vo/NIfrom my iniquity

    I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25. 25

    וַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevand returnedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִיlito meכְּצִדְקָתִיke/tsid/ka/TIaccording to my righteousnessכְּבֹרִיke/vo/RIaccording to my cleannessלְנֶגֶדle/NE/gedin the sight ofעֵינָיו׃e/NAYVHis eyes

    Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26. 26

    עִם־חָסִידim-cha/SIDwith the loyalתִּתְחַסָּדtit/chas/SADYou show Yourself loyalעִם־גִּבּוֹרim-gib/BORwith the mighty manתָּמִיםta/MIMblamelessתִּתַּמָּם׃tit/tam/MAMYou show Yourself blameless

    With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

27. 27

    עִם־נָבָרim-na/VARwith the pureתִּתָּבָרtit/ta/VARYou show Yourself pureוְעִם־עִקֵּשׁve/IM-ik/KESHand with the crookedתִּתַּפָּל׃tit/tap/PALYou show Yourself shrewd

    With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

28. 28

    וְאֶת־עַםve/ET-amand a peopleעָנִיa/NIafflictedתּוֹשִׁיעַto/SHI/aYou saveוְעֵינֶיךָve/e/NE/khaand Your eyesעַל־רָמִיםal-ra/MIMare upon the haughtyתַּשְׁפִּיל׃tash/PILYou bring down

    And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29. 29

    כִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAfor You areנֵירִיne/RImy lampיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDיַגִּיהַּyag/GI/ahlights upחׇשְׁכִּי׃chosh/KImy darkness

    For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

30. 30

    כִּיkiforבְכָהve/KHAby Youאָרוּץa/RUTSI runגְּדוּדge/DUDa troopבֵּאלֹהַיbe/lo/HAYby my Godאֲדַלֶּג־שׁוּר׃a/dal/LEG-shurI leap over a wall

    For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31. 31

    הָאֵלha/ELGodתָּמִיםta/MIMis perfectדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOHis wayאִמְרַתim/RATthe word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְרוּפָהtse/ru/FAis refinedמָגֵןma/GENa shieldהוּאhuHe isלְכֹלle/KHOLfor allהַחֹסִיםha/cho/SIMwho take refugeבּוֹ׃boin Him

    As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32. 32

    כִּיkiforמִי־אֵלmi-elwho is Godמִבַּלְעֲדֵיmib/bal/a/DEbesidesיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּמִיu/MIand who isצוּרtsura rockמִבַּלְעֲדֵיmib/bal/a/DEbesidesאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

    For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

33. 33

    הָאֵלha/ELGod isמָעוּזִּיma/uz/ZImy strongholdחָיִלCHA/yilof strengthוַיַּתֵּרvay/yat/TERand He sets freeתָּמִיםta/MIMblameless(דרכו)darakhav[דַּרְכִּי]׃dar/KImy way

    God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34. 34

    מְשַׁוֶּהme/shav/VEHe makes like(רגליו)ragalayav[רַגְלַי]rag/LAYmy feetכָּאַיָּלוֹתka/ay/ya/LOTlike the doesוְעַלve/ALand uponבָּמֹתַיba/mo/TAYmy heightsיַעֲמִדֵנִי׃ya/a/mi/DE/niHe sets me

    He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35. 35

    מְלַמֵּדme/lam/MEDHe teachesיָדַיya/DAYmy handsלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAto warוְנִחַתve/ni/CHATand bendsקֶשֶׁת־נְחוּשָׁהKE/shet-ne/chu/SHAa bow of bronzeזְרֹעֹתָי׃ze/ro/o/TAYmy arms

    He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36. 36

    וַתִּתֶּן־לִיvat/TIT/ten-liand You have given meמָגֵןma/GENthe shield ofיִשְׁעֶךָyish/E/khaYour salvationוַעֲנֹתְךָva/a/not/KHAand Your gentlenessתַּרְבֵּנִי׃tar/BE/nimade me great

    Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37. 37

    תַּרְחִיבtar/CHIVYou enlargeצַעֲדִיtsa/a/DImy stepsתַּחְתֵּנִיtach/TE/niunder meוְלֹאve/LOand notמָעֲדוּma/a/DUslippedקַרְסֻלָּי׃kar/sul/LAYmy ankles

    Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38. 38

    אֶרְדְּפָהer/de/FAI have pursuedאֹיְבַיoy/VAYmy enemiesוָאַשְׁמִידֵםva/ash/mi/DEMand destroyed themוְלֹאve/LOand notאָשׁוּבa/SHUVdid I turn backעַד־כַּלּוֹתָם׃ad-kal/lo/TAMuntil I finished them

    I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39. 39

    וָאֲכַלֵּםva/a/khal/LEMand I finished themוָאֶמְחָצֵםva/em/cha/TSEMand struck them throughוְלֹאve/LOand notיְקוּמוּןye/ku/MUNthey riseוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand they fellתַּחַתTA/chatunderרַגְלָי׃rag/LAYmy feet

    And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40. 40

    וַתַּזְרֵנִיvat/taz/RE/niand You girded meחַיִלCHA/yilwith strengthלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAfor battleתַּכְרִיעַtakh/RI/aYou made bowקָמַיka/MAYthose who rose against meתַּחְתֵּנִי׃tach/TE/niunder me

    For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41. 41

    וְאֹיְבַיve/oy/VAYand my enemiesתַּתָּהTAT/taYou gaveלִּיlito meעֹרֶףO/refthe neckמְשַׂנְאַיme/san/AYthose who hate meוָאַצְמִיתֵם׃va/ats/mi/TEMand I destroyed them

    Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42. 42

    יִשְׁעוּyish/Uthey lookedוְאֵיןve/ENbut there was noneמֹשִׁיעַmo/SHI/ato saveאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDוְלֹאve/LObut notעָנָם׃a/NAMHe answered them

    They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

43. 43

    וְאֶשְׁחָקֵםve/esh/cha/KEMand I beat them smallכַּעֲפַר־אָרֶץka/a/FAR-A/retsas the dust of the earthכְּטִיט־חוּצוֹתke/TIT-chu/TSOTlike the mire of the streetsאֲדִקֵּםa/dik/KEMI crushed themאֶרְקָעֵם׃er/ka/EMI stamped them

    Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44. 44

    וַתְּפַלְּטֵנִיvat/te/fal/le/TE/niand You delivered meמֵרִיבֵיme/RI/vefrom the strivings ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleתִּשְׁמְרֵנִיtish/me/RE/niYou keep meלְרֹאשׁle/ROSHas head ofגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsעַםama peopleלֹא־יָדַעְתִּיlo-ya/DA/tiI have not knownיַעַבְדֻנִי׃ya/av/DU/niserve me

    Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45. 45

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofנֵכָרne/KHARforeignersיִתְכַּחֲשׁוּ־לִיyit/ka/cha/SHU-licringe before meלִשְׁמוֹעַlish/MO/aat the hearing ofאֹזֶןO/zenthe earיִשָּׁמְעוּyish/SHAM/uthey obeyלִי׃lito me

    Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46. 46

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofנֵכָרne/KHARforeignersיִבֹּלוּyib/BO/luwitherוְיַחְגְּרוּve/yach/ge/RUand come tremblingמִמִּסְגְּרוֹתָם׃mim/mis/ge/ro/TAMfrom their strongholds

    Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47. 47

    חַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaithe LORD livesוּבָרוּךְu/va/RUKHand blessed beצוּרִיtsu/RImy rockוְיָרֻםve/ya/RUMand exalted beאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofצוּרtsurthe rock ofיִשְׁעִי׃yish/Imy salvation

    The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48. 48

    הָאֵלha/ELGodהַנֹּתֵןhan/no/TENwho givesנְקָמֹתne/ka/MOTvengeanceלִיlito meוּמֹרִידu/mo/RIDand that brings downעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesתַּחְתֵּנִי׃tach/TE/niunder me

    It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

49. 49

    וּמוֹצִיאִיu/mo/tsi/Iand brings me outמֵאֹיְבָיme/oy/VAYfrom my enemiesוּמִקָּמַיu/mik/ka/MAYand above those who rose against meתְּרוֹמְמֵנִיte/rom/ME/niYou lift me upמֵאִישׁme/ISHfrom the man ofחֲמָסִיםcha/ma/SIMviolenceתַּצִּילֵנִי׃tats/tsi/LE/niYou deliver me

    And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50. 50

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאוֹדְךָod/KHAI will praise YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsוּלְשִׁמְךָu/le/shim/KHAand to Your nameאֲזַמֵּר׃a/zam/MERI will sing praises

    Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51. 51

    (מגדיל)magadayal[מִגְדּוֹל]mig/DOLa tower ofיְשׁוּעוֹתye/shu/OTsalvationמַלְכּוֹmal/KOHis kingוְעֹשֶׂה־חֶסֶדve/O/se-CHE/sedand shows kindnessלִמְשִׁיחוֹlim/shi/CHOto His anointedלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDto Davidוּלְזַרְעוֹu/le/zar/Oand to his seedעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMforever

    He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
