   And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

   And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

   בְּתִשְׁעָהbe/tish/Aon the ninthלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthוַיֶּחֱזַקvay/ye/che/ZAKand was severeהָרָעָבha/ra/AVthe famineבָּעִירba/IRin the cityוְלֹא־הָיָהve/LO-HA/yaand there was noלֶחֶםLE/chembreadלְעַםle/AMfor the people ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe land

   And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

   וַתִּבָּקַעvat/tib/ba/KAthen was breachedהָעִירha/IRthe cityוְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁיve/KHOL-an/SHEand all the men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarהַלַּיְלָהhal/LAY/laby nightדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhby way ofשַׁעַרSHA/arthe gateבֵּיןbenbetweenהַחֹמֹתַיִםha/cho/mo/TA/yimthe two wallsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isעַל־גַּןal-ganby the garden ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְכַשְׂדִּיםve/Khas/DIMwhile the Chaldeans wereעַל־הָעִירal-ha/IRaround the cityסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhby the way ofהָעֲרָבָה׃ha/A/ra/VAthe Arabah

   And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.

   וַיִּרְדְּפוּvay/yir/de/FUbut pursuedחֵיל־כַּשְׂדִּיםchel-Kas/DIMthe army of the Chaldeansאַחַרa/CHARafterהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּשִּׂגוּvay/yas/SI/guand they overtookאֹתוֹo/TOhimבְּעַרְבוֹתbe/ar/VOTin the plains ofיְרֵחוֹYe/re/CHOJerichoוְכׇל־חֵילוֹve/KHOL-che/LOand all his armyנָפֹצוּna/FO/tsuwere scatteredמֵעָלָיו׃me/a/LAYVfrom him

   And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.

   וַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUthen they tookאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUand brought upאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonרִבְלָתָהRiv/LA/tato Riblahוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand pronouncedאִתּוֹit/TOon himמִשְׁפָּט׃mish/PATjudgment

   So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.

   וְאֶת־בְּנֵיve/ET-be/NEand the sons ofצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahשָׁחֲטוּsha/cha/TUthey slaughteredלְעֵינָיוle/e/NAYVbefore his eyesוְאֶת־עֵינֵיve/ET-e/NEand the eyes ofצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahעִוֵּרiv/VERhe put outוַיַּאַסְרֵהוּvay/ya/as/RE/huand bound himבַּנְחֻשְׁתַּיִםban/chush/TA/yimwith bronze fettersוַיְבִאֵהוּvay/vi/E/huand brought him toבָּבֶל׃Ba/VELBabylon

   And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.

   And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:

9. 9

   וַיִּשְׂרֹףvay/yis/ROFand he burnedאֶת־בֵּית־יְהֹוָהet-bet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוְאֶת־בֵּיתve/ET-betand the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־בָּתֵּיkol-bat/TEall the houses ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְאֶת־כׇּל־בֵּיתve/ET-kol-betand every house ofגָּדוֹלga/DOLa great oneשָׂרַףsa/RAFhe burnedבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHwith fire

   And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.

10. 10

    וְאֶת־חוֹמֹתve/ET-cho/MOTand the walls ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutנָתְצוּna/te/TSUbroke downכׇּל־חֵילkol-chelall the army ofכַּשְׂדִּיםkaS/DIMthe Chaldeansאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat were withרַב־טַבָּחִים׃rav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guard

    And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.

11. 11

    וְאֵתve/ETandיֶתֶרYE/terthe rest ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho were leftבָּעִירba/IRin the cityוְאֶת־הַנֹּפְלִיםve/ET-han/nof/LIMand the desertersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָפְלוּna/fe/LUhad desertedעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְאֵתve/ETandיֶתֶרYE/terthe rest ofהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeהֶגְלָהheg/LAcarried awayנְבוּזַרְאֲדָןNe/vu/zar/a/DANNebuzar-adanרַב־טַבָּחִים׃rav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guard

    Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.

    וּמִדַּלַּתu/mid/dal/LATbut of the poorest ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhe leftרַב־טַבָּחִיםrav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guardלְכֹרְמִיםle/khor/MIMas vinedressersוּלְיֹגְבִים׃u/le/yog/VIMand as plowmen

    But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.

13. 13

    וְאֶת־עַמּוּדֵיve/ET-am/mu/DEand the pillars ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaiin the house of the LORDוְאֶת־הַמְּכֹנוֹתve/ET-ham/me/kho/NOTand the standsוְאֶת־יָםve/ET-yamand the sea ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDשִׁבְּרוּshib/be/RUthey brokeכַשְׂדִּיםKhas/DIMthe Chaldeansוַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand carriedאֶת־נְחֻשְׁתָּםet-ne/chush/TAMtheir bronzeבָּבֶלָה׃ba/VE/lato Babylon

    And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.

    וְאֶת־הַסִּירֹתve/ET-has/si/ROTand the potsוְאֶת־הַיָּעִיםve/ET-hay/ya/IMand the shovelsוְאֶת־הַמְזַמְּרוֹתve/ET-ham/zam/me/ROTand the snuffersוְאֶת־הַכַּפּוֹתve/ET-hak/kap/POTand the pansוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־כְּלֵיkol-ke/LEall the vessels ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichיְשָׁרְתוּ־בָםye/sha/re/TU-vamthey ministeredלָקָחוּ׃la/KA/chuthey took

    And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

15. 15

    וְאֶת־הַמַּחְתּוֹתve/ET-ham/mach/TOTand the fire pansוְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָקוֹתve/ET-ham/miz/ra/KOTand the bowlsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhat wasזָהָבza/HAVgoldזָהָבza/HAVgoldוַאֲשֶׁר־כֶּסֶףva/a/SHER-KE/sefand what was silverכָּסֶףKA/sefsilverלָקַחla/KACHtookרַב־טַבָּחִים׃rav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guard

    And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.

    הָעַמּוּדִיםha/am/mu/DIMthe pillarsשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADoneוְהַמְּכֹנוֹתve/ham/me/kho/NOTand the standsאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had madeשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonלְבֵיתle/VETfor the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־הָיָהlo-ha/YAthere was noמִשְׁקָלmish/KALweightלִנְחֹשֶׁתlin/CHO/shetfor the bronze ofכׇּל־הַכֵּלִיםkol-hak/ke/LIMall the vesselsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

    שְׁמֹנֶה־עֶשְׂרֵהshe/mo/NE-es/REeighteenאַמָּהam/MAcubitsקוֹמַתko/MATthe height ofהָעַמּוּדha/am/MUDthe pillarהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADoneוְכֹתֶרֶתve/kho/TE/retand a capitalעָלָיוa/LAYVon itנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeוְקוֹמַתve/ko/MATand the height ofהַכֹּתֶרֶתhak/ko/TE/retthe capitalשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthree(אמה)mah[אַמּוֹת]am/MOTcubitsוּשְׂבָכָהu/se/va/KHAand a networkוְרִמֹּנִיםve/rim/mo/NIMand pomegranatesעַל־הַכֹּתֶרֶתal-hak/ko/TE/retupon the capitalסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundהַכֹּלhak/KOLallנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeוְכָאֵלֶּהve/kha/EL/leand like theseלַעַמּוּדla/am/MUDhad the pillarהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondעַל־הַשְּׂבָכָה׃al-has/se/va/KHAwith the network

    The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookרַב־טַבָּחִיםrav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guardאֶת־שְׂרָיָהet-Se/ra/YASeraiahכֹּהֵןko/HENthe priestהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefוְאֶת־צְפַנְיָהוּve/ET-tse/fan/YA/huand Zephaniahכֹּהֵןko/HENthe priestמִשְׁנֶהmish/NEsecondוְאֶת־שְׁלֹשֶׁתve/ET-she/LO/shetand the threeשֹׁמְרֵיshom/REthe keepers ofהַסַּף׃has/SAFthe threshold

    And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

19. 19

    וּמִן־הָעִירu/MIN-ha/IRand from the cityלָקַחla/KACHhe tookסָרִיסsa/RISan officerאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲשֶׁר־הוּאa/SHER-huwhoפָקִידfa/KIDwas appointedעַל־אַנְשֵׁיal-an/SHEover the men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAwarוַחֲמִשָּׁהva/cha/mish/SHAand fiveאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמֵרֹאֵיme/ro/Eof those who sawפְנֵי־הַמֶּלֶךְfe/NE-ham/ME/lekhthe face of the kingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִמְצְאוּnim/tse/Uwere foundבָעִירva/IRin the cityוְאֵתve/ETandהַסֹּפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribe ofשַׂרsarthe commander ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyהַמַּצְבִּאham/mats/BIwho musteredאֶת־עַםet-amthe people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְשִׁשִּׁיםve/shish/SHIMand sixtyאִישׁishmenמֵעַםme/AMof the people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַנִּמְצְאִיםhan/nim/tse/IMwho were foundבָּעִיר׃ba/IRin the city

    And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:

20. 20

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֹתָםo/TAMthemנְבוּזַרְאֲדָןNe/vu/zar/a/DANNebuzar-adanרַב־טַבָּחִיםrav-tab/ba/CHIMthe captain of the guardוַיֹּלֶךְvay/YO/lekhand broughtאֹתָםo/TAMthemעַל־מֶלֶךְal-ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonרִבְלָתָה׃Riv/LA/tato Riblah

    And Nebuzar-adan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:

21. 21

    וַיַּךְvay/YAKHand struckאֹתָםo/TAMthemמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוַיְמִיתֵםvay/mi/TEMand killed themבְּרִבְלָהbe/Riv/LAat Riblahבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathוַיִּגֶלvay/YI/gelso was carried awayיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahמֵעַלme/ALfromאַדְמָתוֹ׃ad/ma/TOits land

    And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.

    וְהָעָםve/ha/AMand the peopleהַנִּשְׁאָרhan/nish/ARwho remainedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהִשְׁאִירhish/IRhad leftנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzarמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוַיַּפְקֵדvay/yaf/KEDhe appointedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themאֶת־גְּדַלְיָהוּet-Ge/dal/YA/huGedaliahבֶּן־אֲחִיקָםben-A/chi/KAMthe son of Ahikamבֶּן־שָׁפָן׃ben-Sha/FANthe son of Shaphan

    And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

    And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

    וַיִּשָּׁבַעvay/yish/sha/VAand sworeלָהֶםla/HEMto themגְּדַלְיָהוּGe/dal/YA/huGedaliahוּלְאַנְשֵׁיהֶםu/le/an/she/HEMand to their menוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themאַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Ufear notמֵעַבְדֵיme/av/DEof the servants ofהַכַּשְׂדִּיםhak/Kas/DIMthe Chaldeansשְׁבוּshe/VUdwellבָאָרֶץva/A/retsin the landוְעִבְדוּve/iv/DUand serveאֶת־מֶלֶךְet-ME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonוְיִטַבve/yi/TAVand it shall be wellלָכֶם׃la/KHEMwith you

    And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.

    But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.

    וַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand aroseכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleמִקָּטֹןmik/ka/TONfrom smallוְעַד־גָּדוֹלve/AD-ga/DOLand to greatוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand the commanders ofהַחֲיָלִיםha/cha/ya/LIMthe forcesוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand wentמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimto Egyptכִּיkiforיָרְאוּya/re/Uthey were afraidמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEofכַשְׂדִּים׃Khas/DIMthe Chaldeans

    And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִשְׁלֹשִׁיםvish/lo/SHIMin the thirtyוָשֶׁבַעva/SHE/vaand seventhשָׁנָהsha/NAyearלְגָלוּתle/ga/LUTof the exile ofיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahבִּשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרbish/NEM-a/SARin the twelfthחֹדֶשׁCHO/deshmonthבְּעֶשְׂרִיםbe/es/RIMon the twentyוְשִׁבְעָהve/shiv/Aand seventhלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthנָשָׂאna/SAlifted upאֱוִילE/VILEvil-מְרֹדַךְme/ro/DAKHmerodachמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofמׇלְכוֹmol/KHOhis reigningאֶת־רֹאשׁet-roshthe head ofיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofכֶּלֶא׃KE/leprison

    And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himטֹבוֹתto/VOTgood thingsוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand setאֶת־כִּסְאוֹet-kis/Ohis throneמֵעַלme/ALaboveכִּסֵּאkis/SEthe throne ofהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMthe kingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבְּבָבֶל׃be/Va/VELin Babylon

    And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon;

29. 29

    וְשִׁנָּאve/shin/NAand he changedאֵת־בִּגְדֵיet-big/DEthe garments ofכִלְאוֹkhil/Ohis prisonוְאָכַלve/a/KHALand he ateלֶחֶםLE/chembreadתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofחַיָּיו׃chay/YAYVhis life

    And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.

30. 30

    וַאֲרֻחָתוֹva/a/ru/cha/TOand his allowanceאֲרֻחַתa/ru/CHATan allowance ofתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyנִתְּנָה־לּוֹnit/te/NA-lowas given himמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingדְּבַר־יוֹםde/VAR-yoma portion for a dayבְּיוֹמוֹbe/yo/MOon its dayכֹּלkolallיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחַיָּו׃chay/YAVhis life

    And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
