   In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

   And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.

   Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;

   וְגַםve/GAMand alsoדַּם־הַנָּקִיdam-han/na/KIthe innocent bloodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשָׁפָךְsha/FAKHhe shedוַיְמַלֵּאvay/mal/LEand he filledאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemדָּםdamwith bloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentוְלֹא־אָבָהve/LO-a/VAand was not willingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִסְלֹחַ׃lis/LO/achto forgive

   And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

   וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיְהוֹיָקִיםYe/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakimוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁרve/KHOL-a/SHERand all thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didהֲלֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemare they notכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

   Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

   וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptיְהוֹיָקִיםYe/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakimעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

   So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

   וְלֹא־הֹסִיףve/LO-ho/SIFand did not againעוֹדodanymoreמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלָצֵאתla/TSETcome outמֵאַרְצוֹme/ar/TSOfrom his landכִּי־לָקַחki-la/KACHfor had takenמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonמִנַּחַלmin/NA/chalfrom the Brook ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptעַד־נְהַר־פְּרָתad-Ne/HAR-pe/RATto the river Euphratesכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhad belongedלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

   And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.

   בֶּן־שְׁמֹנֶה־עֶשְׂרֵהben-she/mo/NE-es/REa son of eighteenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinבְּמׇלְכוֹbe/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוּשְׁלֹשָׁהu/she/lo/SHAand threeחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherנְחֻשְׁתָּאNe/chush/TANehushtaבַת־אֶלְנָתָןvat-El/na/TANthe daughter of Elnathanמִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃mI/ru/sha/LA/yimof Jerusalem

   Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneאָבִיו׃a/VIVhis father

   And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.

    בָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthat(עלה)lah[עָלוּ]a/LUcame upעַבְדֵיav/DEthe servants ofנְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELthe king of Babylonיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimagainst Jerusalemוַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand cameהָעִירha/IRthe cityבַּמָּצוֹר׃bam/ma/TSORunder siege

    At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameנְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzarמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELthe king of Babylonעַל־הָעִירal-ha/IRagainst the cityוַעֲבָדָיוva/a/va/DAYVwhile his servantsצָרִיםtsa/RIMwere besiegingעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/hait

    And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahעַל־מֶלֶךְal-ME/lekhto the king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonהוּאhuheוְאִמּוֹve/im/MOand his motherוַעֲבָדָיוva/a/va/DAYVand his servantsוְשָׂרָיוve/sa/RAYVand his officialsוְסָרִיסָיוve/sa/ri/SAYVand his officersוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֹתוֹo/TOhimמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the yearשְׁמֹנֶהshe/mo/NEeightלְמׇלְכוֹ׃le/mol/KHOof his reign

    And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

    וַיּוֹצֵאvay/yo/TSEand he carried outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶת־כׇּל־אוֹצְרוֹתet-kol-ots/ROTall the treasures ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְאוֹצְרוֹתve/ots/ROTand the treasures ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיְקַצֵּץvay/kats/TSETSand cut in piecesאֶת־כׇּל־כְּלֵיet-kol-ke/LEall the vessels ofהַזָּהָבhaz/za/HAVgoldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhad madeשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelבְּהֵיכַלbe/he/KHALin the temple ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhad saidיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

    וְהִגְלָהve/hig/LAand he carried awayאֶת־כׇּל־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Kol-ye/ru/sha/LA/yimall Jerusalemוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַשָּׂרִיםve/ET-kol-has/sa/RIMand all the princesוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־גִּבּוֹרֵיkol-gib/bo/REall the mighty men ofהַחַיִלha/CHA/yilvalor(עשרה)sharah[עֲשֶׂרֶת]a/SE/rettenאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandגּוֹלֶהgo/LEcaptivesוְכׇל־הֶחָרָשׁve/KHOL-he/cha/RASHand all the craftsmenוְהַמַּסְגֵּרve/ham/mas/GERand the smithsלֹאlononeנִשְׁאַרnish/ARremainedזוּלַתzu/LATexceptדַּלַּתdal/LATthe poorest ofעַם־הָאָרֶץ׃am-ha/A/retsthe people of the land

    And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

    וַיֶּגֶלvay/YE/geland he carried awayאֶת־יְהוֹיָכִיןet-Ye/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinבָּבֶלָהba/VE/lainto Babylonוְאֶת־אֵםve/ET-emand the mother ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֶת־נְשֵׁיve/ET-ne/SHEand the wives ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֶת־סָרִיסָיוve/ET-sa/ri/SAYVand his officersוְאֵתve/ETand(אולי)valay[אֵילֵי]e/LEthe chief men ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהוֹלִיךְho/LIKHhe ledגּוֹלָהgo/LAinto exileמִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםmI/ru/sha/LA/yimfrom Jerusalemבָּבֶלָה׃ba/VE/lainto Babylon

    And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

16. 16

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־אַנְשֵׁיkol-an/SHEall the men ofהַחַיִלha/CHA/yilvalorשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandוְהֶחָרָשׁve/he/cha/RASHand the craftsmenוְהַמַּסְגֵּרve/ham/mas/GERand the smithsאֶלֶףE/lefa thousandהַכֹּלhak/KOLallגִּבּוֹרִיםgib/bo/RIMstrong menעֹשֵׂיo/SEdoers ofמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarוַיְבִיאֵםvay/vi/EMand he brought themמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELthe king of Babylonגּוֹלָהgo/LAinto exileבָּבֶלָה׃ba/VE/lainto Babylon

    And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

    וַיַּמְלֵךְvay/yam/LEKHand made kingמֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶלME/lekh-Ba/VELthe king of Babylonאֶת־מַתַּנְיָהet-Mat/tan/YAMattaniahדֹדוֹdo/DOhis uncleתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVin his placeוַיַּסֵּבvay/yas/SEVand changedאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOhis nameצִדְקִיָּהוּ׃Tsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiah

    And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18. 18

    בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםben-es/RIMa son of twentyוְאַחַתve/a/CHATand oneשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahבְמׇלְכוֹve/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוְאַחַת־עֶשְׂרֵהve/a/CHAT-es/REand elevenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis mother[חֲמוּטַל]Cha/mu/TALHamutalבַּת־יִרְמְיָהוּbat-Yir/me/YA/huthe daughter of Jeremiahמִלִּבְנָה׃mil/Liv/NAof Libnah

    Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneיְהוֹיָקִים׃Ye/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakim

    And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

20. 20

    כִּיkiforעַל־אַףal-afbecause of the anger ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהָיְתָהha/ye/TAit came to passבִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוּבִיהוּדָהu/Vi/hu/DAand Judahעַד־הִשְׁלִכוֹad-hish/li/KHOuntil He had castאֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵעַלme/ALfromפָּנָיוpa/NAYVHis presenceוַיִּמְרֹדvay/yim/RODand rebelledצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahבְּמֶלֶךְbe/ME/lekhagainst the king ofבָּבֶל׃Ba/VELBabylon

    For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
