   In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDרַקrakyetלֹאlonotכְּמַלְכֵיke/mal/KHElike the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיוּha/YUwereלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore him

   And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

   Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

   And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

   Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

   In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

   For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

   וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand walkedבְּחֻקּוֹתbe/chuk/KOTin the statutes ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהוֹרִישׁho/RISHhad dispossessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom beforeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּמַלְכֵיu/mal/KHEand the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשׂוּ׃a/SUthey had made

   And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

   וַיְחַפְּאוּvay/chap/pe/Uand did secretlyבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־כֵןlo-khenwere not rightעַל־יְהֹוָהal-Adonaiagainst the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוַיִּבְנוּvay/yiv/NUand they builtלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesבָּמוֹתba/MOThigh placesבְּכׇל־עָרֵיהֶםbe/KHOL-a/re/HEMin all their citiesמִמִּגְדַּלmim/mig/DALfrom the tower ofנוֹצְרִיםnots/RIMwatchmenעַד־עִירad-irto the city ofמִבְצָר׃miv/TSARfortress

   And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

    וַיַּצִּבוּvay/yats/TSI/vuand they set upלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesמַצֵּבוֹתmats/tse/VOTpillarsוַאֲשֵׁרִיםva/A/she/RIMand Asherimעַלalonכׇּל־גִּבְעָהkol-giv/Aevery hillגְבֹהָהge/vo/HAhighוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand underכׇּל־עֵץkol-etsevery treeרַעֲנָן׃ra/a/NANgreen

    And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

    וַיְקַטְּרוּ־שָׁםvay/kat/te/RU-shamand burned incense thereבְּכׇל־בָּמוֹתbe/KHOL-ba/MOTon all high placesכַּגּוֹיִםkag/go/YIMas the nationsאֲשֶׁר־הֶגְלָהa/SHER-heg/LAwhom had carried awayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִפְּנֵיהֶםmip/pe/ne/HEMfrom before themוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they didדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsרָעִיםra/IMevilלְהַכְעִיסle/hakh/ISto provokeאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:

12. 12

    וַיַּעַבְדוּvay/ya/av/DUand they servedהַגִּלֻּלִיםhag/gil/lu/LIMthe idolsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichאָמַרa/MARhad saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֹאlonotתַעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou shall doאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

13. 13

    וַיָּעַדvay/YA/adyet warnedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELagainst Israelוּבִיהוּדָהu/Vi/hu/DAand against Judahבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofכׇּל־[נְבִיאֵי]kol-ne/vi/Eall the prophets of(נביאו)navayvכׇל־חֹזֶהkhol-cho/ZEevery seerלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשֻׁבוּSHU/vuturnמִדַּרְכֵיכֶםmid/dar/khe/KHEMfrom your waysהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMevilוְשִׁמְרוּve/shim/RUand keepמִצְוֺתַיmits/vo/TAYMy commandmentsחֻקּוֹתַיchuk/ko/TAYMy statutesכְּכׇל־הַתּוֹרָהke/KHOL-hat/to/RAaccording to all the lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוִּיתִיtsiv/VI/tiI commandedאֶת־אֲבֹתֵיכֶםet-a/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand thatשָׁלַחְתִּיsha/LACH/tiI sentאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYMy servantsהַנְּבִיאִים׃han/ne/vi/IMthe prophets

    Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

    וְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמֵעוּsha/ME/udid they listenוַיַּקְשׁוּvay/yak/SHUbut they hardenedאֶת־עׇרְפָּםet-or/PAMtheir necksכְּעֹרֶףke/O/reflike the neck ofאֲבוֹתָםa/vo/TAMtheir fathersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlonotהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nudid they believeבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir God

    Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

15. 15

    וַיִּמְאֲסוּvay/yim/a/SUand they rejectedאֶת־חֻקָּיוet-chuk/KAYVHis statutesוְאֶת־בְּרִיתוֹve/ET-be/ri/TOand His covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכָּרַתka/RATHe madeאֶת־אֲבוֹתָםet-a/vo/TAMwith their fathersוְאֵתve/ETandעֵדְוֺתָיוed/vo/TAYVHis testimoniesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֵעִידhe/IDHe testifiedבָּםbamagainst themוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַהֶבֶלha/HE/velvanityוַיֶּהְבָּלוּvay/yeh/BA/luand became vainוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereסְבִיבֹתָםse/vi/vo/TAMwere around themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERconcerning whomצִוָּהtsiv/VAhad commandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֹתָםo/TAMthemלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotעֲשׂוֹתa/SOTto doכָּהֶם׃ka/HEMlike them

    And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

    וַיַּעַזְבוּvay/ya/az/VUand they forsookאֶת־כׇּל־מִצְוֺתet-kol-mits/VOTall the commandments ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they madeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesמַסֵּכָהmas/se/KHAmolten images(שנים)shanayam[שְׁנֵי]she/NEtwoעֲגָלִיםa/ga/LIMcalvesוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they madeאֲשֵׁירָהA/she/RAan Asherahוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּvay/yish/ta/cha/VUand bowed downלְכׇל־צְבָאle/KHOL-tse/VAto all the host ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוַיַּעַבְדוּvay/ya/av/DUand they servedאֶת־הַבָּעַל׃et-Hab/BA/althe Baal

    And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17. 17

    וַיַּעֲבִירוּvay/ya/a/VI/ruand they caused to passאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםet-be/ne/HEMtheir sonsוְאֶת־בְּנוֹתֵיהֶםve/ET-be/no/te/HEMand their daughtersבָּאֵשׁba/ESHthrough the fireוַיִּקְסְמוּvay/yik/se/MUand practicedקְסָמִיםke/sa/MIMdivinationוַיְנַחֵשׁוּvay/na/CHE/shuand sought omensוַיִּתְמַכְּרוּvay/yit/mak/ke/RUand sold themselvesלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהַכְעִיסוֹ׃le/hakh/i/SOto provoke Him

    And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

18. 18

    וַיִּתְאַנַּףvay/yit/an/NAFand was angryיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמְאֹדme/ODveryבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELwith Israelוַיְסִרֵםvay/si/REMand removed themמֵעַלme/ALfromפָּנָיוpa/NAYVHis presenceלֹאlononeנִשְׁאַרnish/ARwas leftרַקrakbutשֵׁבֶטSHE/vetthe tribe ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלְבַדּוֹ׃le/vad/DOalone

    Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

    גַּם־יְהוּדָהgam-Ye/hu/DAalso Judahלֹאlonotשָׁמַרsha/MARkeptאֶת־מִצְוֺתet-mits/VOTthe commandments ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUbut walkedבְּחֻקּוֹתbe/chuk/KOTin the statutes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשׂוּ׃a/SUthey made

    Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.

20. 20

    וַיִּמְאַסvay/yim/ASand rejectedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּכׇל־זֶרַעbe/KHOL-ZE/raall the seed ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְעַנֵּםvay/an/NEMand afflicted themוַיִּתְּנֵםvay/yit/te/NEMand gave themבְּיַד־שֹׁסִיםbe/YAD-sho/SIMinto the hand of plunderersעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִשְׁלִיכָםhish/li/KHAMHe had cast themמִפָּנָיו׃mip/pa/NAYVfrom His presence

    And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

    כִּי־קָרַעki-ka/RAfor He toreיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמֵעַלme/ALfromבֵּיתbetthe house ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidוַיַּמְלִיכוּvay/yam/LI/khuand they made kingאֶת־יָרׇבְעָםet-Ya/rov/AMJeroboamבֶּן־נְבָטben-Ne/VATthe son of Nebat(וידא)vayad[וַיַּדַּח]vay/yad/DACHand droveיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְהֶחֱטִיאָםve/he/che/ti/AMand made them sinחֲטָאָהcha/ta/Aa sinגְדוֹלָה׃ge/do/LAgreat

    For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

    וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand walkedבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּכׇל־חַטֹּאותbe/KHOL-chat/TOTin all the sins ofיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruthey did not departמִמֶּנָּה׃mim/MEN/nafrom it

    For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;

    עַדaduntilאֲשֶׁר־הֵסִירa/SHER-he/SIRremovedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelמֵעַלme/ALfromפָּנָיוpa/NAYVHis presenceכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERHe had spokenבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofכׇּל־עֲבָדָיוkol-a/va/DAYVall His servantsהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsוַיִּגֶלvay/YI/gelso was exiledיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמֵעַלme/ALfromאַדְמָתוֹad/ma/TOits landאַשּׁוּרָהAsh/SHU/rato Assyriaעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of Assyriaמִבָּבֶלmib/Ba/VELfrom Babylonוּמִכּוּתָהu/Mik/ku/TAand from Cuthahוּמֵעַוָּאu/Me/av/VAand from Avvaוּמֵחֲמָתu/Me/cha/MATand from Hamathוּסְפַרְוַיִםu/Se/far/VA/yimand Sepharvaimוַיֹּשֶׁבvay/YO/shevand settled themבְּעָרֵיbe/a/REin the cities ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּרְשׁוּvay/yir/SHUand they possessedאֶת־שֹׁמְרוֹןet-Shom/RONSamariaוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand dweltבְּעָרֶיהָ׃be/a/RE/hain its cities

    And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּתְחִלַּתbit/chil/LATat the beginning ofשִׁבְתָּםshiv/TAMtheir dwellingשָׁםshamthereלֹאlonotיָרְאוּya/re/Udid they fearאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוַיְשַׁלַּחvay/shal/LACHand sentיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבָּהֶםba/HEMamong themאֶת־הָאֲרָיוֹתet-ha/a/ra/YOTthe lionsוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereהֹרְגִיםhor/GIMkillingבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMsome of them

    And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

    Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of Assyriaלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהֹלִיכוּho/LI/khucarryשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהַכֹּהֲנִיםme/hak/ko/ha/NIMof the priestsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהִגְלִיתֶםhig/li/TEMyou carried awayמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוְיֵלְכוּve/yel/KHUand let them goוְיֵשְׁבוּve/yesh/VUand let them dwellשָׁםshamthereוְיֹרֵםve/yo/REMand let him teach themאֶת־מִשְׁפַּטet-mish/PATthe custom ofאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe land

    Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

28. 28

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהַכֹּהֲנִיםme/hak/ko/ha/NIMof the priestsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהִגְלוּhig/LUthey had carried awayמִשֹּׁמְרוֹןmish/Shom/RONfrom Samariaוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand dweltבְּבֵית־אֵלbe/VET-elin Beth-elוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasמוֹרֶהmo/REteachingאֹתָםo/TAMthemאֵיךְekhhowיִירְאוּyi/re/Uthey should fearאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

29. 29

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereעֹשִׂיםo/SIMmakingגּוֹיgoynationגּוֹיgoyby nationאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVits godsוַיַּנִּיחוּvay/yan/NI/chuand put themבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשׂוּa/SUhad madeהַשֹּׁמְרֹנִיםhash/Shom/ro/NIMthe Samaritansגּוֹיgoynationגּוֹיgoyby nationבְּעָרֵיהֶםbe/a/re/HEMin their citiesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהֵםhemtheyיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMwere dwellingשָׁם׃shamthere

    Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.

30. 30

    וְאַנְשֵׁיve/an/SHEand the men ofבָבֶלVa/VELBabylonעָשׂוּa/SUmadeאֶת־סֻכּוֹתet-Suk/KOTSuccoth-בְּנוֹתbe/NOTbenothוְאַנְשֵׁי־כוּתve/An/SHE-khutand the men of Cuthעָשׂוּa/SUmadeאֶת־נֵרְגַלet-Ner/GALNergalוְאַנְשֵׁיve/an/SHEand the men ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathעָשׂוּa/SUmadeאֶת־אֲשִׁימָא׃et-A/shi/MAAshima

    And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

31. 31

    וְהָעַוִּיםve/Ha/av/VIMand the Avvitesעָשׂוּa/SUmadeנִבְחַזNiv/CHAZNibhazוְאֶת־תַּרְתָּקve/ET-tar/TAKand TartakוְהַסְפַרְוִיםVe/has/far/VIMand the Sepharvitesשֹׂרְפִיםsor/FIMburnedאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםet-be/ne/HEMtheir sonsבָּאֵשׁba/ESHin the fireלְאַדְרַמֶּלֶךְle/Ad/ram/ME/lekhto Adrammelechוַעֲנַמֶּלֶךְva/A/nam/ME/lekhand Anammelech(אלה)lah[אֱלֹהֵי]e/lo/HEthe gods of(ספרים)safarayam[סְפַרְוָיִם]׃Se/far/VA/yimSepharvaim

    And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

32. 32

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMfearingאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they madeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesמִקְצוֹתָםmik/tso/TAMfrom all of themכֹּהֲנֵיko/ha/NEpriests ofבָמוֹתva/MOThigh placesוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUwho wereעֹשִׂיםo/SIMofferingלָהֶםla/HEMfor themבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַבָּמוֹת׃hab/ba/MOTthe high places

    So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

33. 33

    אֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDהָיוּha/YUthey wereיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMfearingוְאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםve/ET-e/lo/he/HEMand their godsהָיוּha/YUthey wereעֹבְדִיםov/DIMservingכְּמִשְׁפַּטke/mish/PATafter the manner ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁר־הִגְלוּa/SHER-hig/LUwho had exiledאֹתָםo/TAMthemמִשָּׁם׃mish/SHAMfrom there

    They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

34. 34

    עַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoכַּמִּשְׁפָּטִיםkam/mish/pa/TIMaccording to the customsהָרִאשֹׁנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMformerאֵינָםe/NAMthey do notיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMfearאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוְאֵינָםve/e/NAMand they do notעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoכְּחֻקֹּתָםke/chuk/ko/TAMaccording to their statutesוּכְמִשְׁפָּטָםu/khe/mish/pa/TAMand according to their ordinancesוְכַתּוֹרָהve/khat/to/RAor according to the lawוְכַמִּצְוָהve/kham/mits/VAand according to the commandmentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe children ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֲשֶׁר־שָׂםa/SHER-samon whom He setשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

35. 35

    וַיִּכְרֹתvay/yikh/ROTand madeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאִתָּםit/TAMwith themבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantוַיְצַוֵּםvay/tsav/VEMand commanded themלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlonotתִירְאוּti/re/Uyou shall fearאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsוְלֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲווּve/LO-tish/ta/cha/VUnor bow downלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלֹאve/LOnorתַעַבְדוּםta/av/DUMyou shall serve themוְלֹאve/LOnorתִזְבְּחוּtiz/be/CHUyou will sacrificeלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:

36. 36

    כִּיkibutאִם־אֶת־יְהֹוָהim-et-Adonaionly the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעֱלָהhe/e/LAbrought upאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achwith powerגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוּבִזְרוֹעַu/viz/RO/aand with an armנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAoutstretchedאֹתוֹo/TOHimתִירָאוּti/RA/uyou shall fearוְלוֹve/LOand to Himתִשְׁתַּחֲווּtish/ta/cha/VUyou shall bow downוְלוֹve/LOand to Himתִזְבָּחוּ׃tiz/BA/chuyou shall sacrifice

    But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

37. 37

    וְאֶת־הַחֻקִּיםve/ET-ha/chuk/KIMand the statutesוְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ET-ham/mish/pa/TIMand the ordinancesוְהַתּוֹרָהve/hat/to/RAand the lawוְהַמִּצְוָהve/ham/mits/VAand the commandmentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכָּתַבka/TAVHe wroteלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youתִּשְׁמְרוּןtish/me/RUNyou shall be carefulלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכׇּל־הַיָּמִיםkol-hay/ya/MIMalwaysוְלֹאve/LOand notתִירְאוּti/re/Uyou shall fearאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִים׃e/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother gods

    And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

38. 38

    וְהַבְּרִיתve/hab/be/RITand the covenantאֲשֶׁר־כָּרַתִּיa/SHER-ka/RAT/tithat I have madeאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youלֹאlonotתִשְׁכָּחוּtish/KA/chuyou shall forgetוְלֹאve/LOand notתִירְאוּti/re/Uyou shall fearאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִים׃e/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother gods

    And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

39. 39

    כִּיkibutאִם־אֶת־יְהֹוָהim-et-Adonaionly the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godתִּירָאוּti/RA/uyou shall fearוְהוּאve/HUand Heיַצִּילyats/TSILwill deliverאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofכׇּל־אֹיְבֵיכֶם׃kol-oy/ve/KHEMall your enemies

    But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

40. 40

    וְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמֵעוּsha/ME/udid they listenכִּיkibutאִם־כְּמִשְׁפָּטָםim-ke/mish/pa/TAMaccording to their customהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONformerהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂים׃o/SIMdid

    Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

41. 41

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUso wereהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMfearingאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוְאֶת־פְּסִילֵיהֶםve/ET-pe/si/le/HEMand their idolsהָיוּha/YUthey wereעֹבְדִיםov/DIMservingגַּם־בְּנֵיהֶםgam-be/ne/HEMalso their sonsוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofבְנֵיהֶםve/ne/HEMtheir sonsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשׂוּa/SUdidאֲבֹתָםa/vo/TAMtheir fathersהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
