   In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

   בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםben-es/RIMa son of twentyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsאָחָזA/CHAZAhazבְּמׇלְכוֹbe/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוְשֵׁשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהve/SHESH-es/REand sixteenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְלֹא־עָשָׂהve/LO-a/SAand he did not doהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godכְּדָוִדke/Da/VIDlike Davidאָבִיו׃a/VIVhis father

   Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.

   וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhbut he walkedבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin the way ofמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־בְּנוֹet-be/NOhis sonהֶעֱבִירhe/e/VIRhe made passבָּאֵשׁba/ESHthrough the fireכְּתֹעֲבוֹתke/to/a/VOTaccording to the abominations ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהוֹרִישׁho/RISHhad dispossessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֹתָםo/TAMthemמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom beforeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.

   וַיְזַבֵּחַvay/zab/BE/achand he sacrificedוַיְקַטֵּרvay/kat/TERand burned incenseבַּבָּמוֹתbab/ba/MOTat the high placesוְעַל־הַגְּבָעוֹתve/AL-hag/ge/va/OTand upon the hillsוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand underכׇּל־עֵץkol-etsevery treeרַעֲנָן׃ra/a/NANgreen

   And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

   אָזazthenיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEcame upרְצִיןRe/TSINRezinמֶלֶךְ־אֲרָםME/lekh-A/RAMthe king of Aramוּפֶקַחu/FE/kachand Pekahבֶּן־רְמַלְיָהוּben-Re/mal/YA/huthe son of Remaliahמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAto battleוַיָּצֻרוּvay/ya/TSU/ruand they besiegedעַל־אָחָזal-A/CHAZAhazוְלֹאve/LObut notיָכְלוּya/khe/LUcould theyלְהִלָּחֵם׃le/hil/la/CHEMto fight

   Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

   At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.

   וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentאָחָזA/CHAZAhazמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersאֶל־תִּגְלַתel-Tig/LATto Tiglath-פְּלֶסֶרpe/LE/serpileserמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of Assyriaלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAyour servantוּבִנְךָu/vin/KHAand your sonאָנִיA/niIעֲלֵהa/LEcome upוְהוֹשִׁעֵנִיve/ho/shi/E/niand save meמִכַּףmik/KAFout of the hand ofמֶלֶךְ־אֲרָםME/lekh-A/RAMthe king of Aramוּמִכַּףu/mik/KAFand out of the hand ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַקּוֹמִיםhak/ko/MIMwho are rising upעָלָי׃a/LAYagainst me

   So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאָחָזA/CHAZAhazאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverוְאֶת־הַזָּהָבve/ET-haz/za/HAVand the goldהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAthat was foundבֵּיתbetin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּבְאֹצְרוֹתu/ve/ots/ROTand in the treasuries ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sent itלְמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרle/ME/lekh-ash/SHURto the king of Assyriaשֹׁחַד׃SHO/chadas a bribe

   And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

   וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand listenedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaאֶל־דַּמֶּשֶׂקel-Dam/ME/sekagainst Damascusוַיִּתְפְּשֶׂהָvay/yit/pe/SE/haand took itוַיַּגְלֶהָvay/yag/LE/haand exiled itקִירָהKI/rato Kirוְאֶת־רְצִיןve/ET-re/TSINand Rezinהֵמִית׃he/MIThe killed

   And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאָחָזA/CHAZAhazלִקְרַאתlik/RATto meetתִּגְלַתTig/LATTiglath-פִּלְאֶסֶרpil/E/serpileserמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of AssyriaדּוּמֶּשֶׂקDum/ME/sekat Damascusוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasבְּדַמָּשֶׂקbe/Dam/MA/sekin Damascusוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאָחָזA/CHAZAhazאֶל־אוּרִיָּהel-U/riy/YAto Uriahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־דְּמוּתet-de/MUTthe likeness ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarוְאֶת־תַּבְנִיתוֹve/ET-tav/ni/TOand its patternלְכׇל־מַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃le/KHOL-ma/a/SE/hufor all its workmanship

    And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtאוּרִיָּהU/riy/YAUriahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַחa/SHER-sha/LACHthat had sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאָחָזA/CHAZAhazמִדַּמֶּשֶׂקmid/Dam/ME/sekfrom Damascusכֵּןkensoעָשָׂהa/SAmade itאוּרִיָּהU/riy/YAUriahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestעַד־בּוֹאad-bobefore cameהַמֶּלֶךְ־אָחָזHam/ME/lekh-a/CHAZKing Ahazמִדַּמָּשֶׂק׃mid/Dam/MA/sekfrom Damascus

    And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand when cameהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingמִדַּמֶּשֶׂקmid/Dam/ME/sekfrom Damascusוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarוַיִּקְרַבvay/yik/RAVand approachedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland offeredעָלָיו׃a/LAYVon it

    And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and offered thereon.

13. 13

    וַיַּקְטֵרvay/yak/TERand he burnedאֶת־עֹלָתוֹet-o/la/TOhis burnt offeringוְאֶת־מִנְחָתוֹve/ET-min/cha/TOand his grain offeringוַיַּסֵּךְvay/yas/SEKHand pouredאֶת־נִסְכּוֹet-nis/KOhis drink offeringוַיִּזְרֹקvay/yiz/ROKand he sprinkledאֶת־דַּם־הַשְּׁלָמִיםet-dam-hash/she/la/MIMthe blood of the peace offeringsאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat were hisעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ׃al-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altar

    And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.

14. 14

    וְאֵתve/ETandהַמִּזְבַּחham/miz/BACHthe altar ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיַּקְרֵבvay/yak/REVhe broughtמֵאֵתme/ETfromפְּנֵיpe/NEthe front ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseמִבֵּיןmib/BENfrom betweenהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarוּמִבֵּיןu/mib/BENand from betweenבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand putאֹתוֹo/TOitעַל־יֶרֶךְal-YE/rekhon the side ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarצָפוֹנָה׃tsa/FO/nanorthward

    And he brought also the brasen altar, which was before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar.

15. 15

    (ויצוהו)vayatsavahav[וַיְצַוֶּה]vay/tsav/VEand commandedהַמֶּלֶךְ־אָחָזHam/ME/lekh-a/CHAZKing Ahazאֶת־אוּרִיָּהet-U/riy/YAUriahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעַלaluponהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatהַקְטֵרhak/TERburnאֶת־עֹלַת־הַבֹּקֶרet-o/LAT-hab/BO/kerthe burnt offering of the morningוְאֶת־מִנְחַתve/ET-min/CHATand the grain offering ofהָעֶרֶבha/E/revthe eveningוְאֶת־עֹלַתve/ET-o/LATand the burnt offering ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֶת־מִנְחָתוֹve/ET-min/cha/TOand his grain offeringוְאֵתve/ETandעֹלַתo/LATthe burnt offering ofכׇּל־עַםkol-amall the people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוּמִנְחָתָםu/min/cha/TAMand their grain offeringוְנִסְכֵּיהֶםve/nis/ke/HEMand their drink offeringsוְכׇל־דַּםve/KHOL-damand all the blood ofעֹלָהo/LAa burnt offeringוְכׇל־דַּם־זֶבַחve/KHOL-dam-ZE/vachand all the blood of sacrificeעָלָיוa/LAYVon itתִּזְרֹקtiz/ROKyou shall sprinkleוּמִזְבַּחu/miz/BACHbut the altar ofהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeיִהְיֶה־לִּיyih/YE-lishall be for meלְבַקֵּר׃le/vak/KERto inquire by

    And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by.

16. 16

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didאוּרִיָּהU/riy/YAUriahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהa/SHER-tsiv/VAwhich commandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאָחָז׃A/CHAZAhaz

    Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

    וַיְקַצֵּץvay/kats/TSETSand cut offהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאָחָזA/CHAZAhazאֶת־הַמִּסְגְּרוֹתet-ham/mis/ge/ROTthe panels ofהַמְּכוֹנֹתham/me/kho/NOTthe standsוַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand he removedמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMfrom them(ואת)vt[אֶת־]הַכִּיֹּרet-hak/kiy/YORthe laverוְאֶת־הַיָּםve/ET-hay/YAMand the seaהוֹרִדho/RIDhe took downמֵעַלme/ALfromהַבָּקָרhab/ba/KARthe oxenהַנְּחֹשֶׁתhan/ne/CHO/shetbronzeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereתַּחְתֶּיהָtach/TE/haunder itוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand putאֹתוֹo/TOitעַלaluponמַרְצֶפֶתmar/TSE/feta pavement ofאֲבָנִים׃a/va/NIMstones

    And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.

    וְאֶת־[מוּסַךְ]ve/ET-mu/SAKHand the covered way of(מיסך)mayasakhהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathאֲשֶׁר־בָּנוּa/SHER-ba/NUthat they had builtבַבַּיִתvab/BA/yitin the houseוְאֶת־מְבוֹאve/ET-me/VOand the entry ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהַחִיצוֹנָהha/chi/tso/NAouterהֵסֵבhe/SEVhe turnedבֵּיתbetfrom the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאַשּׁוּר׃Ash/SHURAssyria

    And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry without, turned he from the house of the LORD for the king of Assyria.

19. 19

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofאָחָזA/CHAZAhazאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didהֲלֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemare they notכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20. 20

    וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptאָחָזA/CHAZAhazעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּקָּבֵרvay/yik/ka/VERand was buriedעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedחִזְקִיָּהוּChiz/kiy/YA/huHezekiahבְנוֹve/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
