   In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

   Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

   And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

   רַקrakbutהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruwere not removedעוֹדodstillהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמְזַבְּחִיםme/zab/be/CHIMwere sacrificingוּמְקַטְּרִיםu/me/kat/te/RIMand burning incenseבַּבָּמוֹת׃bab/ba/MOTat the high places

   Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

   וַיְנַגַּעvay/nag/GAand struckיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasמְצֹרָעme/tso/RAa leperעַד־יוֹםad-yomuntil the day ofמֹתוֹmo/TOhis deathוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he dweltבְּבֵיתbe/VETin a house ofהַחׇפְשִׁיתha/chof/SHITseparationוְיוֹתָםve/Yo/TAMand Jothamבֶּן־הַמֶּלֶךְben-ham/ME/lekhthe son of the kingעַל־הַבַּיִתal-hab/BA/yitwas over the houseשֹׁפֵטsho/FETjudgingאֶת־עַםet-amthe people ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe land

   And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

   And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

   וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptעֲזַרְיָהA/zar/YAAzariahעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּקְבְּרוּvay/yik/be/RUand they buriedאֹתוֹo/TOhimעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedיוֹתָםYo/TAMJothamבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

   So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

   In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשׂוּa/SUhad doneאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersלֹאlonotסָרsardid he departמֵחַטֹּאותme/chat/TOTfrom the sins ofיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamבֶּן־נְבָטben-Ne/VATthe son of Nebatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶחֱטִיאhe/che/TImade to sinאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃et-Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

    וַיִּקְשֹׁרvay/yik/SHORand conspiredעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himשַׁלֻּםShal/LUMShallumבֶּן־יָבֵשׁben-Ya/VESHthe son of Jabeshוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand struck himקׇבׇל־עָםko/VOL-ambefore the peopleוַיְמִיתֵהוּvay/mi/TE/huand killed himוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

    הוּאhuthat wasדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֶּרdib/BERHe spokeאֶל־יֵהוּאel-Ye/HUto Jehuלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofרְבִיעִיםre/vi/IMthe fourth generationיֵשְׁבוּyesh/VUshall sitלְךָle/KHAyourעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the throne ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְהִי־כֵן׃vay/HI-khenand it was so

    This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

    שַׁלּוּםShal/LUMShallumבֶּן־יָבֵישׁben-Ya/VESHthe son of Jabeshמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyוָתֵשַׁעva/TE/shaand nineשָׁנָהsha/NAyearלְעֻזִּיָּהle/Uz/ziy/YAof UzziahמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand he reignedיֶרַח־יָמִיםYE/rach-ya/MIMa month of daysבְּשֹׁמְרוֹן׃be/Shom/RONin Samaria

    Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14. 14

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upמְנַחֵםMe/na/CHEMMenahemבֶּן־גָּדִיben-Ga/DIthe son of Gadiמִתִּרְצָהmit/Tir/TSAfrom Tirzahוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONto Samariaוַיַּךְvay/YAKHand he struckאֶת־שַׁלּוּםet-Shal/LUMShallumבֶּן־יָבֵישׁben-Ya/VESHthe son of Jabeshבְּשֹׁמְרוֹןbe/Shom/RONin Samariaוַיְמִיתֵהוּvay/mi/TE/huand killed himוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

    And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

    אָזazthenיַכֶּה־מְנַחֵםYak/KE-me/na/CHEMMenahem struckאֶת־תִּפְסַחet-Tif/SACHTiphsahוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּve/ET-kol-a/SHER-baand all that were in itוְאֶת־גְּבוּלֶיהָve/ET-ge/vu/LE/haand its territoriesמִתִּרְצָהmit/Tir/TSAfrom Tirzahכִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotפָתַחfa/TACHthey openedוַיַּךְvay/YAKHtherefore he struck itאֵת־כׇּל־הֶהָרוֹתֶיהָet-kol-he/ha/ro/TE/haall its pregnant womenבִּקֵּעַ׃bik/KE/ahe ripped open

    Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

    In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹאlonotסָרsardid he departמֵעַלme/ALfromחַטֹּאותchat/TOTthe sins ofיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamבֶּן־נְבָטben-Ne/VATthe son of Nebatאֲשֶׁר־הֶחֱטִיאa/SHER-he/che/TIwho made to sinאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelכׇּל־יָמָיו׃kol-ya/MAYVall his days

    And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

19. 19

    בָּאbacameפוּלFulPulמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of Assyriaעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsagainst the landוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveמְנַחֵםMe/na/CHEMMenahemלְפוּלle/FULto PulאֶלֶףE/lefa thousandכִּכַּר־כָּסֶףkik/KAR-KA/seftalents of silverלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTthat might beיָדָיוya/DAYVhis handsאִתּוֹit/TOwith himלְהַחֲזִיקle/ha/cha/ZIKto strengthenהַמַּמְלָכָהham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdomבְּיָדוֹ׃be/ya/DOin his hand

    And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

    וַיֹּצֵאvay/yo/TSEand exactedמְנַחֵםMe/na/CHEMMenahemאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe moneyעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELupon Israelעַלaluponכׇּל־גִּבּוֹרֵיkol-gib/bo/REall the mighty men ofהַחַיִלha/CHA/yilwealthלָתֵתla/TETto giveלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMfiftyשְׁקָלִיםshe/ka/LIMshekelsכֶּסֶףKE/sefof silverלְאִישׁle/ISHfor each manאֶחָדe/CHADoneוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovso turned backמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוְלֹא־עָמַדve/LO-A/madand did not stayשָׁםshamthereבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the land

    And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

    And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

    But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

    In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

    וַיִּקְשׇׁר־קֶשֶׁרvay/yik/SHOR-KE/sherand conspired a conspiracyהוֹשֵׁעַHo/SHE/aHosheaבֶּן־אֵלָהben-E/LAthe son of Elahעַל־פֶּקַחal-PE/kachagainst Pekahבֶּן־רְמַלְיָהוּben-Re/mal/YA/huthe son of Remaliahוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand struck himוַיְמִיתֵהוּvay/mi/TE/huand killed himוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVin his placeבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyלְיוֹתָםle/Yo/TAMof Jothamבֶּן־עֻזִּיָּה׃ben-Uz/ziy/YAthe son of Uzziah

    And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵי־פֶקַחdiv/RE-FE/kachthe acts of Pekahוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁרve/KHOL-a/SHERand all thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

    בִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofשְׁתַּיִםSHTA/yimtwoלְפֶקַחle/FE/kachof Pekahבֶּן־רְמַלְיָהוּben-Re/mal/YA/huthe son of RemaliahמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedיוֹתָםYo/TAMJothamבֶּן־עֻזִּיָּהוּben-Uz/ziy/YA/huthe son of UzziahמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

    בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםben-es/RIMa son of twentyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsהָיָהha/YAhe wasבְמׇלְכוֹve/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוְשֵׁשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהve/SHESH-es/REand sixteenשָׁנהshanyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherיְרוּשָׁאYe/ru/SHAJerushaבַּת־צָדוֹק׃bat-Tsa/DOKthe daughter of Zadok

    Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

34. 34

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneעֻזִּיָּהוּUz/ziy/YA/huUzziahאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherעָשָׂה׃a/SAhe did

    And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35. 35

    רַקrakbutהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesלֹאlonotסָרוּSA/ruwere removedעוֹדodstillהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמְזַבְּחִיםme/zab/be/CHIMwere sacrificingוּמְקַטְּרִיםu/me/kat/te/RIMand burning incenseבַּבָּמוֹתbab/ba/MOTat the high placesהוּאhuheבָּנָהba/NAbuiltאֶת־שַׁעַרet-SHA/arthe gate ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDהָעֶלְיוֹן׃ha/el/YONupper

    Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.

    Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

    בַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהַשְׁלִיחַle/hash/LI/achto sendבִּיהוּדָהbI/hu/DAagainst JudahרְצִיןRe/TSINRezinמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאֲרָםA/RAMAramוְאֵתve/ETandפֶּקַחPE/kachPekahבֶּן־רְמַלְיָהוּ׃ben-Re/mal/YA/huthe son of Remaliah

    In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

    וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptיוֹתָםYo/TAMJothamעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּקָּבֵרvay/yik/ka/VERand was buriedעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedאָחָזA/CHAZAhazבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
