   Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.

   בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁבַעbish/NAT-SHE/vain the year sevenלְיֵהוּאle/Ye/HUof Jehuמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashוְאַרְבָּעִיםve/ar/ba/IMand fortyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherצִבְיָהTsiv/YAZibiahמִבְּאֵרmib/Be/ERfrom Beer-שָׁבַע׃SHA/vasheba

   In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכׇּל־יָמָיוkol-ya/MAYVall his daysאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהוֹרָהוּho/RA/huinstructed himיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵן׃hak/ko/HENthe priest

   And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

   רַקrakbutהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruwere not removedעוֹדodstillהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמְזַבְּחִיםme/zab/be/CHIMwere sacrificingוּמְקַטְּרִיםu/me/kat/te/RIMand burning incenseבַּבָּמוֹת׃bab/ba/MOTat the high places

   But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashאֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִיםel-hak/ko/ha/NIMto the priestsכֹּלkolallכֶּסֶףKE/sefthe money ofהַקֳּדָשִׁיםhak/ko/da/SHIMthe holy thingsאֲשֶׁר־יוּבָאa/SHER-yu/VAthat is broughtבֵית־יְהֹוָהvet-Adonaiinto the house of the LORDכֶּסֶףKE/sefmoney ofעוֹבֵרo/VERone who passesאִישׁisheachכֶּסֶףKE/sefthe money ofנַפְשׁוֹתnaf/SHOTpersons ofעֶרְכּוֹer/KOhis valuationכׇּל־כֶּסֶףkol-KE/sefall the moneyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEcomes upעַלalonלֶב־אִישׁlev-isha man's heartלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringבֵּיתbetinto the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,

   Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyוְשָׁלֹשׁve/sha/LOSHand threeשָׁנָהsha/NAyearלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhof kingיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashלֹא־חִזְּקוּlo-chiz/ze/KUhad not repairedהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsאֶת־בֶּדֶקet-BE/dekthe breaches ofהַבָּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

   But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashלִיהוֹיָדָעlI/ho/ya/DAfor Jehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוְלַכֹּהֲנִיםve/lak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMare you notמְחַזְּקִיםme/chaz/ze/KIMrepairingאֶת־בֶּדֶקet-BE/dekthe breaches ofהַבָּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַל־תִּקְחוּ־כֶסֶףal-tik/CHU-KHE/sefdo not take moneyמֵאֵתme/ETfromמַכָּרֵיכֶםmak/ka/re/KHEMyour acquaintancesכִּי־לְבֶדֶקki-le/VE/dekbut for the breaches ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseתִּתְּנֻהוּ׃tit/te/NU/huyou shall give it

   Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

   וַיֵּאֹתוּvay/ye/O/tuand consentedהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotקְחַת־כֶּסֶףke/CHAT-KE/sefto take moneyמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוּלְבִלְתִּיu/le/vil/TIand notחַזֵּקchaz/ZEKto repairאֶת־בֶּדֶקet-BE/dekthe breaches ofהַבָּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

   And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֲרוֹןa/RONa chestאֶחָדe/CHADoneוַיִּקֹּבvay/yik/KOVand he boredחֹרchora holeבְּדַלְתּוֹbe/dal/TOin its lidוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand setאֹתוֹo/TOitאֵצֶלE/tselbesideהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altar(בימין)vayamayan[מִיָּמִין]miy/ya/MINon the rightבְּבוֹא־אִישׁbe/VO-ishas one comes intoבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְנָתְנוּ־שָׁמָּהve/na/te/NU-SHAM/maand put thereהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsשֹׁמְרֵיshom/REwho keptהַסַּףhas/SAFthe thresholdאֶת־כׇּל־הַכֶּסֶףet-kol-hak/KE/sefall the moneyהַמּוּבָאham/mu/VAthat was broughtבֵית־יְהֹוָה׃vet-Adonaiinto the house of the LORD

    But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.

11. 11

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתָםkir/o/TAMwhen they sawכִּי־רַבki-ravthat muchהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefmoney wasבָּאָרוֹןba/a/RONin the chestוַיַּעַלvay/YA/althat came upסֹפֵרso/FERthe scribe ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְהַכֹּהֵןve/hak/ko/HENand the priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוַיָּצֻרוּvay/ya/TSU/ruand they baggedוַיִּמְנוּvay/yim/NUand they countedאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe moneyהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAthat was foundבֵית־יְהֹוָה׃vet-Adonaiin the house of the LORD

    And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.

    וְנָתְנוּve/na/te/NUand they gaveאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe moneyהַמְתֻכָּןham/tuk/KANthat was weighed outעַל־[יְדֵי]al-ye/DEinto the hands of(יד)yadעֹשֵׂיo/SEthe doers ofהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe work(הפקדים)hafakadayam[הַמֻּפְקָדִים]ham/muf/ka/DIMwho were appointed overבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיּוֹצִיאֻהוּvay/yo/tsi/U/huand they paid it outלְחָרָשֵׁיle/cha/ra/SHEto the workers ofהָעֵץha/ETSwoodוְלַבֹּנִיםve/lab/bo/NIMand to the buildersהָעֹשִׂיםha/o/SIMwho worked onבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,

13. 13

    וְלַגֹּדְרִיםve/lag/god/RIMand to the masonsוּלְחֹצְבֵיu/le/chots/VEand to the hewers ofהָאֶבֶןha/E/venthe stoneוְלִקְנוֹתve/lik/NOTand to buyעֵצִיםe/TSIMtimberוְאַבְנֵיve/av/NEand stones ofמַחְצֵבmach/TSEVhewingלְחַזֵּקle/chaz/ZEKto repairאֶת־בֶּדֶקet-BE/dekthe breaches ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLand for allאֲשֶׁר־יֵצֵאa/SHER-ye/TSEthat was spentעַל־הַבַּיִתal-hab/BA/yiton the houseלְחׇזְקָה׃le/choz/KAto repair it

    And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

    אַךְakhbutלֹאlonotיֵעָשֶׂהye/a/SEwere madeבֵּיתbetfor the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDסִפּוֹתsip/POTbasins ofכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverמְזַמְּרוֹתme/zam/me/ROTsnuffersמִזְרָקוֹתmiz/ra/KOTbowlsחֲצֹצְרוֹתcha/tsots/ROTtrumpetsכׇּל־כְּלִיkol-ke/LIany vessel ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldוּכְלִי־כָסֶףu/khe/LI-KHA/sefor vessel of silverמִן־הַכֶּסֶףmin-hak/KE/seffrom the moneyהַמּוּבָאham/mu/VAthat was broughtבֵית־יְהֹוָה׃vet-Adonaiinto the house of the LORD

    Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:

15. 15

    כִּי־לְעֹשֵׂיki-le/o/SEfor to the doers ofהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workיִתְּנֻהוּyit/te/NU/huthey gave itוְחִזְּקוּ־בוֹve/chiz/ze/KU-voand they repaired with itאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.

16. 16

    וְלֹאve/LOand notיְחַשְּׁבוּye/chash/she/VUdid they reckonאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMof the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUthey gaveאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe moneyעַל־יָדָםal-ya/DAMinto their handלָתֵתla/TETto giveלְעֹשֵׂיle/o/SEto the doers ofהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workכִּיkiforבֶאֱמֻנָהve/e/mu/NAin faithfulnessהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂים׃o/SIMwere acting

    Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

17. 17

    כֶּסֶףKE/sefthe money ofאָשָׁםa/SHAMguilt offeringוְכֶסֶףve/KHE/sefand the money ofחַטָּאוֹתchat/ta/OTsin offeringsלֹאlonotיוּבָאyu/VAwas broughtבֵּיתbetinto the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַכֹּהֲנִיםlak/ko/ha/NIMthe priests'יִהְיוּ׃yih/YUit was

    The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.

18. 18

    אָזazthenיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEwent upחֲזָאֵלCha/za/ELHazaelמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאֲרָםA/RAMAramוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand foughtעַל־גַּתal-Gatagainst Gathוַיִּלְכְּדָהּvay/yil/ke/DAand took itוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he setחֲזָאֵלCha/za/ELHazaelפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTto go upעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃al-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimagainst Jerusalem

    Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

19. 19

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookיְהוֹאָשׁYe/ho/ASHJehoashמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahאֵת־כׇּל־הַקֳּדָשִׁיםet-kol-hak/ko/da/SHIMall the holy thingsאֲשֶׁר־הִקְדִּישׁוּa/SHER-hik/DI/shuthat had dedicatedיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוִיהוֹרָםVi/ho/RAMand Jehoramוַאֲחַזְיָהוּva/A/chaz/YA/huand Ahaziahאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־קֳדָשָׁיוve/ET-ko/da/SHAYVand his own holy thingsוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַזָּהָבkol-haz/za/HAVall the goldהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAthat was foundבְּאֹצְרוֹתbe/ots/ROTin the treasuries ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוּבֵיתu/VETand of the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sent itלַחֲזָאֵלla/Cha/za/ELto HazaelמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאֲרָםA/RAMAramוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he went awayמֵעַלme/ALfromיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיוֹאָשׁYo/ASHJoashוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁרve/KHOL-a/SHERand all thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didהֲלוֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemare they notכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21. 21

    וַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they rose upעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsוַיִּקְשְׁרוּ־קָשֶׁרvay/yik/she/RU-KA/sherand conspired a conspiracyוַיַּכּוּvay/yak/KUand they struckאֶת־יוֹאָשׁet-Yo/ASHJoashבֵּיתbetin the house ofמִלֹּאMil/LOMilloהַיֹּרֵדhay/yo/REDthat goes down toסִלָּא׃Sil/LASilla

    And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

    וְיוֹזָכָרve/Yo/za/KHARand Jozacharבֶּן־שִׁמְעָתben-Shim/ATthe son of ShimeathוִיהוֹזָבָדVi/ho/za/VADand Jehozabadבֶּן־שֹׁמֵרben-Sho/MERthe son of Shomerעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsהִכֻּהוּhik/KU/hustruck himוַיָּמֹתvay/ya/MOTand he diedוַיִּקְבְּרוּvay/yik/be/RUand they buriedאֹתוֹo/TOhimעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedאֲמַצְיָהA/mats/YAAmaziahבְנוֹve/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
