   Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

   And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

   And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

   Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

   And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

   And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

   Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand madeשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonאֶת־הֶחָגet-he/CHAGthe feastבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelעִמּוֹim/MOwith himקָהָלka/HALan assemblyגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatמְאֹדme/ODveryמִלְּבוֹאmil/le/VOfrom the entrance ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathעַד־נַחַלad-NA/chalto the brook ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

   Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

   וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they heldבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁמִינִיhash/she/mi/NIthe eighthעֲצָרֶתa/TSA/reta solemn assemblyכִּיkiforחֲנֻכַּתcha/nuk/KATthe dedication ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarעָשׂוּa/SUthey keptשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְהֶחָגve/he/CHAGand the feastשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

   And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

    And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

11. 11

    וַיְכַלvay/KHALand finishedשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְאֶת־בֵּיתve/ET-betand the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־הַבָּאkol-hab/BAall that cameעַל־לֵבal-levinto the heart ofשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDוּבְבֵיתוֹu/ve/ve/TOand in his houseהִצְלִיחַ׃hits/LI/achhe prospered

    Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

12. 12

    וַיֵּרָאvay/ye/RAand appearedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־שְׁלֹמֹהel-She/lo/MOto Solomonבַּלָּיְלָהbal/LAY/laby nightוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardאֶת־תְּפִלָּתֶךָet-te/fil/la/TE/khayour prayerוּבָחַרְתִּיu/va/CHAR/tiand have chosenבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלִיlifor Myselfלְבֵיתle/VETas a house ofזָבַח׃ZA/vachsacrifice

    And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

13. 13

    הֵןhenifאֶעֱצֹרe/e/TSORI shut upהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְלֹא־יִהְיֶהve/LO-yih/YEand there is noמָטָרma/TARrainוְהֵן־אֲצַוֶּהve/HEN-a/tsav/VEor if I commandעַל־חָגָבal-cha/GAVthe locustלֶאֱכוֹלle/e/KHOLto devourהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְאִם־אֲשַׁלַּחve/IM-a/shal/LACHor if I sendדֶּבֶרDE/verpestilenceבְּעַמִּי׃be/am/MIamong My people

    If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14. 14

    וְיִכָּנְעוּve/yik/ka/ne/Uand humble themselvesעַמִּיam/MIMy peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִקְרָא־שְׁמִיnik/RA-she/MIis called My nameעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themוְיִתְפַּלְלוּve/yit/pal/LUand prayוִיבַקְשׁוּvi/vak/SHUand seekפָנַיfa/NAYMy faceוְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuand turnמִדַּרְכֵיהֶםmid/dar/khe/HEMfrom their waysהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMevilוַאֲנִיva/a/NIthen Iאֶשְׁמַעesh/MAwill hearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוְאֶסְלַחve/es/LACHand will forgiveלְחַטָּאתָםle/chat/ta/TAMtheir sinוְאֶרְפָּאve/er/PAand will healאֶת־אַרְצָם׃et-ar/TSAMtheir land

    If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15. 15

    עַתָּהat/TAnowעֵינַיe/NAYMy eyesיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beפְתֻחוֹתfe/tu/CHOTopenוְאׇזְנַיve/oz/NAYand My earsקַשֻּׁבוֹתkash/shu/VOTattentiveלִתְפִלַּתlit/fil/LATto the prayer ofהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

16. 16

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבָּחַרְתִּיba/CHAR/tiI have chosenוְהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיve/hik/DASH/tiand consecratedאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלִהְיוֹת־שְׁמִיlih/YOT-she/MIthat My name may beשָׁםshamthereעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall beעֵינַיe/NAYMy eyesוְלִבִּיve/lib/BIand My heartשָׁםshamthereכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMall the days

    For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

17. 17

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand as for youאִם־תֵּלֵךְim-te/LEKHif you walkלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore Meכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָלַךְha/LAKHwalkedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherוְלַעֲשׂוֹתve/la/a/SOTand doכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוִּיתִיךָtsiv/vi/TI/khaI have commanded youוְחֻקַּיve/chuk/KAYand My statutesוּמִשְׁפָּטַיu/mish/pa/TAYand My judgmentsתִּשְׁמוֹר׃tish/MORyou keep

    And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

18. 18

    וַהֲקִימוֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIthen I will establishאֵת־כִּסֵּאet-kis/SEthe throne ofמַלְכוּתֶךָmal/khu/TE/khayour kingdomכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasכָּרַתִּיka/RAT/tiI covenantedלְדָוִידle/Da/VIDwith Davidאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־יִכָּרֵתlo-yik/ka/RETthere shall not be cut offלְךָle/KHAfor youאִישׁisha manמוֹשֵׁלmo/SHELrulingבְּיִשְׂרָאֵל׃be/Yis/ra/ELin Israel

    Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

19. 19

    וְאִם־תְּשׁוּבוּןve/IM-te/shu/VUNbut if turn awayאַתֶּםat/TEMyouוַעֲזַבְתֶּםva/a/zav/TEMand forsakeחֻקּוֹתַיchuk/ko/TAYMy statutesוּמִצְוֺתַיu/mits/vo/TAYand My commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI have setלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youוַהֲלַכְתֶּםva/ha/lakh/TEMbut goוַעֲבַדְתֶּםva/a/vad/TEMand serveאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםve/hish/ta/cha/vi/TEMand bow downלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20. 20

    וּנְתַשְׁתִּיםu/ne/tash/TIMthen I will uproot themמֵעַלme/ALfromאַדְמָתִיad/ma/TIMy landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI have givenלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְאֶת־הַבַּיִתve/ET-hab/BA/yitand the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיhik/DASH/tiI have consecratedלִשְׁמִיlish/MIfor My nameאַשְׁלִיךְash/LIKHI will castמֵעַלme/ALout ofפָּנָיpa/NAYMy sightוְאֶתְּנֶנּוּve/et/te/NEN/nuand I will make itלְמָשָׁלle/ma/SHALa proverbוְלִשְׁנִינָהve/lish/ni/NAand a bywordבְּכׇל־הָעַמִּים׃be/KHOL-ha/am/MIMamong all the peoples

    Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21. 21

    וְהַבַּיִתve/hab/BA/yitand the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAit wasעֶלְיוֹןel/YONexaltedלְכׇל־עֹבֵרle/KHOL-o/VEReveryone passing byעָלָיוa/LAYVitיִשֹּׁםyish/SHOMwill be appalledוְאָמַרve/a/MARand will sayבַּמֶּהbam/MEwhyעָשָׂהa/SAhas doneיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכָּכָהKA/khasoלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְלַבַּיִתve/lab/BA/yitand to the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

22. 22

    וְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand they will sayעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָזְבוּa/ze/VUthey forsookאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוֹצִיאָםho/tsi/AMbrought them outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוַיַּחֲזִיקוּvay/ya/cha/ZI/kuand laid holdבֵּאלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםbe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMon other godsוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּvay/yish/ta/cha/VUand bowed downלָהֶםla/HEMto themוַיַּעַבְדוּםvay/ya/av/DUMand they served themעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהֵבִיאhe/VIHe has broughtעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאֵת־כׇּל־הָרָעָהet-kol-ha/ra/Aall the evilהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
