   אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARsaidשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאָמַרa/MARsaidלִשְׁכּוֹןlish/KONto dwellבָּעֲרָפֶל׃ba/a/ra/FELin thick darkness

   Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבָּנִיתִיba/NI/tihave builtבֵית־זְבֻלvet-ze/VULa house of lofty abodeלָךְlakhfor Youוּמָכוֹןu/ma/KHONand a placeלְשִׁבְתְּךָle/shiv/te/KHAfor You to dwell inעוֹלָמִים׃o/la/MIMforever

   But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

   וַיַּסֵּבvay/yas/SEVand turned aroundהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶת־פָּנָיוet-pa/NAYVhis faceוַיְבָרֶךְvay/VA/rekhand blessedאֵת־כׇּל־קְהַלet-kol-ke/HALall the assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְכׇל־קְהַלve/KHOL-ke/HALand all the assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelעוֹמֵד׃o/MEDwas standing

   And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeבְּפִיוbe/FIVwith His mouthאֵת־דָּוִידet-Da/VIDwith Davidאָבִיa/VImy fatherוּבְיָדָיוu/ve/ya/DAYVand with His handsמִלֵּאmil/LEhas fulfilledלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,

   Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

   וָאֶבְחַרva/ev/CHARbut I choseבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTthat may beשְׁמִיshe/MIMy nameשָׁםshamthereוָאֶבְחַרva/ev/CHARbut I choseבְּדָוִידBe/da/VIDDavidלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTthat may beעַל־עַמִּיal-am/MIover My peopleיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasעִם־לְבַבim-le/VAVin the heart ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיa/VImy fatherלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildבַּיִתBA/yita houseלְשֵׁםle/SHEMfor the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־דָּוִידel-Da/VIDto Davidאָבִיa/VImy fatherיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAit wasעִם־לְבָבְךָim-le/va/ve/KHAin your heartלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildבַּיִתBA/yita houseלִשְׁמִיlish/MIfor My nameהֱטִיבוֹתָhe/ti/VO/tayou did wellכִּיkiforהָיָהha/YAit wasעִם־לְבָבֶךָ׃im-le/va/VE/khain your heart

   But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

9. 9

   רַקrakbutאַתָּהat/TAyouלֹאlonotתִבְנֶהtiv/NEyou shall buildהַבָּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseכִּיkiforבִנְךָvin/KHAyour sonהַיּוֹצֵאhay/yo/TSEwho comes outמֵחֲלָצֶיךָme/cha/la/TSE/khafrom your loinsהוּא־יִבְנֶהhu-yiv/NEhe shall buildהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseלִשְׁמִי׃lish/MIfor My name

   Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

    וַיָּקֶםvay/YA/kemand has establishedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־דְּבָרוֹet-de/va/ROHis wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֵּרdib/BERHe spokeוָאָקוּםva/a/KUMand I have risen upתַּחַתTA/chatin place ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיa/VImy fatherוָאֵשֵׁבva/e/SHEVand I sitעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the throne ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוָאֶבְנֶהva/ev/NEand I have builtהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseלְשֵׁםle/SHEMfor the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

    וָאָשִׂיםva/a/SIMand I have putשָׁםshamthereאֶת־הָאָרוֹןet-ha/a/RONthe arkאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםa/SHER-shamin which isבְּרִיתbe/RITthe covenant ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכָּרַתka/RATHe madeעִם־בְּנֵיim-be/NEwith the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.

    וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand he stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנֶגֶדNE/gedin front ofכׇּל־קְהַלkol-ke/HALall the assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּפְרֹשׂvay/yif/ROSand spread outכַּפָּיו׃kap/PAYVhis palms

    And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:

    כִּי־עָשָׂהki-a/SAfor had madeשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonכִּיּוֹרkiy/YORa platform ofנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand had set itבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהָעֲזָרָהha/a/za/RAthe courtחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsאׇרְכּוֹor/KOits lengthוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsרׇחְבּוֹroch/BOits widthוְאַמּוֹתve/am/MOTand cubitsשָׁלוֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeקוֹמָתוֹko/ma/TOits heightוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand he stoodעָלָיוa/LAYVon itוַיִּבְרַךְvay/yiv/RAKHand he kneltעַל־בִּרְכָּיוal-bir/KAYVon his kneesנֶגֶדNE/gedin front ofכׇּל־קְהַלkol-ke/HALall the assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּפְרֹשׂvay/yif/ROSand spread outכַּפָּיוkap/PAYVhis palmsהַשָּׁמָיְמָה׃hash/sha/MAY/matoward the heavens

    For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֵין־כָּמוֹךָen-ka/MO/khathere is none like Youאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin the heavensוּבָאָרֶץu/va/A/retsand in the earthשֹׁמֵרsho/MERkeepingהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantוְהַחֶסֶדve/ha/CHE/sedand the kindnessלַעֲבָדֶיךָla/a/va/DE/khafor Your servantsהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho walkלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youבְּכׇל־לִבָּם׃be/KHOL-lib/BAMwith all their heart

    And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

15. 15

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשָׁמַרְתָּsha/MAR/tahave keptלְעַבְדְּךָle/av/de/KHAfor Your servantדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיa/VImy fatherאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּרְתָּet-a/SHER-dib/BAR/tawhat You spokeלוֹloto himוַתְּדַבֵּרvat/te/dab/BERand You spokeבְּפִיךָbe/FI/khawith Your mouthוּבְיָדְךָu/ve/ya/de/KHAand with Your handמִלֵּאתָmil/LE/tahave fulfilledכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMas the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

16. 16

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelשְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepלְעַבְדְּךָle/av/de/KHAfor Your servantדָוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיa/VImy fatherאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatדִּבַּרְתָּdib/BAR/taYou spokeלּוֹloto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־יִכָּרֵתlo-yik/ka/RETthere shall not be cut offלְךָle/KHAfor youאִישׁisha manמִלְּפָנַיmil/le/fa/NAYfrom before Meיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVto sitעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the throne ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelרַקrakonlyאִם־יִשְׁמְרוּim-yish/me/RUif they keepבָנֶיךָva/NE/khayour sonsאֶת־דַּרְכָּםet-dar/KAMtheir wayלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבְּתוֹרָתִיbe/to/ra/TIin My lawכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָלַכְתָּha/LAKH/tayou have walkedלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore Me

    Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.

17. 17

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelיֵאָמֵןye/a/MENlet be confirmedדְּבָרְךָde/va/re/KHAYour wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבַּרְתָּdib/BAR/taYou spokeלְעַבְדְּךָle/av/de/KHAfor Your servantלְדָוִיד׃Le/da/VIDDavid

    Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforהַאֻמְנָםha/um/NAMindeedיֵשֵׁבye/SHEVwill dwellאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMwith manעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensוּשְׁמֵיu/she/MEand the heavens ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensלֹאlonotיְכַלְכְּלוּךָye/khal/ke/LU/khacontain Youאַףafhow much lessכִּי־הַבַּיִתki-hab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּנִיתִי׃ba/NI/tiI have built

    But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

19. 19

    וּפָנִיתָu/fa/NI/tayet turnאֶל־תְּפִלַּתel-te/fil/LATto the prayer ofעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAYour servantוְאֶל־תְּחִנָּתוֹve/EL-te/chin/na/TOand to his supplicationיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהָיe/lo/HAYmy Godלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearkenאֶל־הָרִנָּהel-ha/rin/NAto the cryוְאֶל־הַתְּפִלָּהve/EL-hat/te/fil/LAand to the prayerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAYour servantמִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELis prayingלְפָנֶיךָ׃le/fa/NE/khabefore You

    Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

    לִהְיוֹתlih/YOTthat may beעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaYour eyesפְתֻחוֹתfe/tu/CHOTopenאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yittoward the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisיוֹמָםyo/MAMdayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand nightאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMtoward the placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאָמַרְתָּa/MAR/taYou saidלָשׂוּםla/SUMto putשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour nameשָׁםshamthereלִשְׁמוֹעַlish/MO/ato hearkenאֶל־הַתְּפִלָּהel-hat/te/fil/LAto the prayerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִתְפַּלֵּלyit/pal/LELwill prayעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAYour servantאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMtoward the placeהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

    וְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAand hearאֶל־תַּחֲנוּנֵיel-ta/cha/nu/NEto the supplications ofעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAYour servantוְעַמְּךָve/am/me/KHAand Your peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִתְפַּלְלוּyit/pal/LUthey prayאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMtoward the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearמִמְּקוֹםmim/me/KOMfrom the place ofשִׁבְתְּךָshiv/te/KHAYour dwellingמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAand hearוְסָלָחְתָּ׃ve/sa/LACH/taand forgive

    Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22. 22

    אִם־יֶחֱטָאim-ye/che/TAif sinsאִישׁisha manלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborוְנָשָׁא־בוֹve/na/SHA-voand lays upon himאָלָהa/LAan oathלְהַאֲלֹתוֹle/ha/a/lo/TOto make him swearוּבָאu/VAand comesאָלָהa/LAan oathלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמִזְבַּחֲךָmiz/ba/cha/KHAYour altarבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

23. 23

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand actוְשָׁפַטְתָּve/sha/fat/TAand judgeאֶת־עֲבָדֶיךָet-a/va/DE/khaYour servantsלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto repayלְרָשָׁעle/ra/SHAthe wickedלָתֵתla/TETto giveדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOhis wayבְּרֹאשׁוֹbe/ro/SHOon his own headוּלְהַצְדִּיקu/le/hats/DIKand to justifyצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousלָתֶתLA/tetto giveלוֹloto himכְּצִדְקָתוֹ׃ke/tsid/ka/TOaccording to his righteousness

    Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.

    וְאִם־יִנָּגֵףve/IM-yin/na/GEFand if is struck downעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאוֹיֵבo/YEVan enemyכִּיkiforיֶחֶטְאוּ־לָךְye/chet/U-lakhthey sin against Youוְשָׁבוּve/SHA/vuand turn backוְהוֹדוּve/ho/DUand confessאֶת־שְׁמֶךָet-she/ME/khaYour nameוְהִתְפַּלְלוּve/hit/pal/LUand prayוְהִתְחַנְּנוּve/hit/chan/ne/NUand make supplicationלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;

25. 25

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוְסָלַחְתָּve/sa/lach/TAand forgiveלְחַטַּאתle/chat/TATthe sin ofעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַהֲשֵׁיבוֹתָםva/ha/she/vo/TAMand bring them backאֶל־הָאֲדָמָהel-ha/a/da/MAto the landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּהa/SHER-na/TAT/tathat You gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלַאֲבֹתֵיהֶם׃ve/la/a/vo/te/HEMand to their fathers

    Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

26. 26

    בְּהֵעָצֵרbe/he/a/TSERwhen are shutהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְלֹא־יִהְיֶהve/LO-yih/YEand there is noמָטָרma/TARrainכִּיkiforיֶחֶטְאוּ־לָךְye/chet/U-lakhthey sin against Youוְהִתְפַּלְלוּve/hit/pal/LUand they prayאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMtoward the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְהוֹדוּve/ho/DUand confessאֶת־שְׁמֶךָet-she/ME/khaYour nameמֵחַטָּאתָםme/chat/ta/TAMfrom their sinיְשׁוּבוּןye/shu/VUNthey turnכִּיkiwhenתַעֲנֵם׃ta/a/NEMYou afflict them

    When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimin the heavensוְסָלַחְתָּve/sa/lach/TAand forgiveלְחַטַּאתle/chat/TATthe sin ofעֲבָדֶיךָa/va/DE/khaYour servantsוְעַמְּךָve/am/me/KHAand Your peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכִּיkiwhenתוֹרֵםto/REMYou teach themאֶל־הַדֶּרֶךְel-had/DE/rekhthe wayהַטּוֹבָהhat/to/VAgoodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיֵלְכוּ־בָהּyel/KHU-vathey should walk in itוְנָתַתָּהve/na/tat/TAand giveמָטָרma/TARrainעַל־אַרְצְךָal-ar/tse/KHAupon Your landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּהa/SHER-na/TAT/tathat You gaveלְעַמְּךָle/am/me/KHAto Your peopleלְנַחֲלָה׃le/na/cha/LAas an inheritance

    If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:

    כׇּל־תְּפִלָּהkol-te/fil/LAany prayerכׇל־תְּחִנָּהkhol-te/chin/NAany supplicationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beלְכׇל־הָאָדָםle/KHOL-ha/a/DAMby any manוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLor by allעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיֵדְעוּyed/Ushall knowאִישׁisheachנִגְעוֹnig/Ohis plagueוּמַכְאֹבוֹu/makh/o/VOand his painוּפָרַשׂu/fa/RASand spreads outכַּפָּיוkap/PAYVhis palmsאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yittoward the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:

30. 30

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensמְכוֹןme/KHONthe place ofשִׁבְתֶּךָshiv/TE/khaYour dwellingוְסָלַחְתָּve/sa/lach/TAand forgiveוְנָתַתָּהve/na/tat/TAand giveלָאִישׁla/ISHto each manכְּכׇל־דְּרָכָיוke/KHOL-de/ra/KHAYVaccording to all his waysאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתֵּדַעte/DAYou knowאֶת־לְבָבוֹet-le/va/VOhis heartכִּיkiforאַתָּהat/TAYouלְבַדְּךָle/vad/de/KHAaloneיָדַעְתָּya/DA/taknowאֶת־לְבַבet-le/VAVthe heart ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofהָאָדָם׃ha/a/DAMman

    Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)

31. 31

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anin order thatיִירָאוּךָyi/ra/U/khathey may fear Youלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבִּדְרָכֶיךָbid/ra/KHE/khain Your waysכׇּל־הַיָּמִיםkol-hay/ya/MIMall the daysאֲשֶׁר־הֵםa/SHER-hemthat they areחַיִּיםchay/YIMliveעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתָּהna/TAT/taYou gaveלַאֲבֹתֵינוּ׃la/a/vo/TE/nuto our fathers

    That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

32. 32

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶל־הַנׇּכְרִיel-han/nokh/RIconcerning the foreignerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlonotמֵעַמְּךָme/am/me/KHAof Your peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהוּאhuheוּבָאu/VAand comesמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofרְחוֹקָהre/cho/KAfarלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour nameהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatוְיָדְךָve/ya/de/KHAand Your handהַחֲזָקָהha/cha/za/KAmightyוּזְרוֹעֲךָu/ze/ro/a/KHAand Your armהַנְּטוּיָהhan/ne/tu/YAoutstretchedוּבָאוּu/VA/uand they comeוְהִתְפַּלְלוּve/hit/pal/LUand prayאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yittoward the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;

33. 33

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAthen Youתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAhearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensמִמְּכוֹןmim/me/KHONfrom the place ofשִׁבְתֶּךָshiv/TE/khaYour dwellingוְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand doכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָאa/SHER-yik/RAthat callsאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youהַנׇּכְרִיhan/nokh/RIthe foreignerלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיֵדְעוּyed/Umay knowכׇל־עַמֵּיkhol-am/MEall the peoples ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthאֶת־שְׁמֶךָet-she/ME/khaYour nameוּלְיִרְאָהu/le/yir/Aand fearאֹתְךָot/KHAYouכְּעַמְּךָke/am/me/KHAlike Your peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְלָדַעַתve/la/DA/atand knowכִּי־שִׁמְךָki-shim/KHAthat Your nameנִקְרָאnik/RAis calledעַל־הַבַּיִתal-hab/BA/yitupon the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּנִיתִי׃ba/NI/tiI have built

    Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

34. 34

    כִּי־יֵצֵאki-ye/TSEwhen go outעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAto battleעַל־אֹיְבָיוal-oy/VAYVagainst its enemiesבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhby the wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּשְׁלָחֵםtish/la/CHEMYou send themוְהִתְפַּלְלוּve/hit/pal/LUand they prayאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato YouדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtowardהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּחַרְתָּba/CHAR/taYou have chosenבָּהּbaitוְהַבַּיִתve/hab/BA/yitand the houseאֲשֶׁר־בָּנִיתִיa/SHER-ba/NI/tiwhich I have builtלִשְׁמֶךָ׃lish/ME/khafor Your name

    If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;

35. 35

    וְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAand hearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensאֶת־תְּפִלָּתָםet-te/fil/la/TAMtheir prayerוְאֶת־תְּחִנָּתָםve/ET-te/chin/na/TAMand their supplicationוְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand maintainמִשְׁפָּטָם׃mish/pa/TAMtheir cause

    Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

36. 36

    כִּיkiifיֶחֶטְאוּ־לָךְye/chet/U-lakhthey sin against Youכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noאָדָםa/DAMmanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יֶחֱטָאlo-ye/che/TAdoes not sinוְאָנַפְתָּve/a/naf/TAand You are angryבָםvamwith themוּנְתַתָּםu/ne/tat/TAMand give themלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאוֹיֵבo/YEVan enemyוְשָׁבוּםve/sha/VUMand carry them captiveשׁוֹבֵיהֶםsho/ve/HEMtheir captorsאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofרְחוֹקָהre/cho/KAfarאוֹoorקְרוֹבָה׃ke/ro/VAnear

    If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;

37. 37

    וְהֵשִׁיבוּve/he/SHI/vuand they bring backאֶל־לְבָבָםel-le/va/VAMto their heartבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנִשְׁבּוּ־שָׁםnish/BU-shamthey were carried captiveוְשָׁבוּve/SHA/vuand turn backוְהִתְחַנְּנוּve/hit/chan/ne/NUand make supplicationאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofשִׁבְיָםshiv/YAMtheir captivityלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingחָטָאנוּcha/TA/nuwe have sinnedהֶעֱוִינוּhe/e/VI/nuwe have done wrongוְרָשָׁעְנוּ׃ve/ra/SHA/nuand we have acted wickedly

    Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;

    וְשָׁבוּve/SHA/vuand turn backאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youבְּכׇל־לִבָּםbe/KHOL-lib/BAMwith all their heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשָׁםu/ve/KHOL-naf/SHAMand with all their soulבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofשִׁבְיָםshiv/YAMtheir captivityאֲשֶׁר־שָׁבוּa/SHER-sha/VUwhere they carried captiveאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְהִתְפַּלְלוּve/hit/pal/LUand prayדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhtowardאַרְצָםar/TSAMtheir landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתָּהna/TAT/taYou gaveלַאֲבוֹתָםla/a/vo/TAMto their fathersוְהָעִירve/ha/IRand the cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּחַרְתָּba/CHAR/taYou have chosenוְלַבַּיִתve/lab/BA/yitand the houseאֲשֶׁר־בָּנִיתִיa/SHER-ba/NI/tiwhich I have builtלִשְׁמֶךָ׃lish/ME/khafor Your name

    If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

    וְשָׁמַעְתָּve/sha/ma/TAand hearמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensמִמְּכוֹןmim/me/KHONfrom the place ofשִׁבְתְּךָshiv/te/KHAYour dwellingאֶת־תְּפִלָּתָםet-te/fil/la/TAMtheir prayerוְאֶת־תְּחִנֹּתֵיהֶםve/ET-te/chin/no/te/HEMand their supplicationsוְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand doמִשְׁפָּטָםmish/pa/TAMtheir causeוְסָלַחְתָּve/sa/lach/TAand forgiveלְעַמְּךָle/am/me/KHAto Your peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחָטְאוּ־לָךְ׃cha/te/U-lakhhave sinned against You

    Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.

40. 40

    עַתָּהat/TAnowאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYO my Godיִהְיוּ־נָאyih/YU-nalet be I prayעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaYour eyesפְּתֻחוֹתpe/tu/CHOTopenוְאׇזְנֶיךָve/oz/NE/khaand Your earsקַשֻּׁבוֹתkash/shu/VOTattentiveלִתְפִלַּתlit/fil/LATto the prayer ofהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMplaceהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

41. 41

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowקוּמָהku/MAariseיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְנוּחֶךָle/nu/CHE/khato Your resting placeאַתָּהat/TAYouוַאֲרוֹןva/a/RONand the ark ofעֻזֶּךָuz/ZE/khaYour strengthכֹּהֲנֶיךָko/ha/NE/khaYour priestsיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיִלְבְּשׁוּyil/be/SHUbe clothed withתְשׁוּעָהte/shu/Asalvationוַחֲסִידֶיךָva/cha/si/DE/khaand Your faithful onesיִשְׂמְחוּyis/me/CHUrejoiceבַטּוֹב׃vat/TOVin goodness

    Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

42. 42

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאַל־תָּשֵׁבal-ta/SHEVdo not turn awayפְּנֵיpe/NEthe face ofמְשִׁיחֶךָme/shi/CHE/khaYour anointedזׇכְרָהzokh/RArememberלְחַסְדֵיle/chas/DEthe kindnesses ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidעַבְדֶּךָ׃av/DE/khaYour servant

    O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.
