1. 1

   וַתִּשְׁלַםand was finishedכׇּל־הַמְּלָאכָהall the taskאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהwhich didשְׁלֹמֹהSolomonלְבֵיתto the house ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַיָּבֵאand broughtשְׁלֹמֹהSolomonאֶת־קׇדְשֵׁיthe holy things ofדָּוִידDavidאָבִיוhis fatherוְאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףand the silverוְאֶת־הַזָּהָבand the goldוְאֶת־כׇּל־הַכֵּלִיםand all the vesselsנָתַןgaveבְּאֹצְרוֹתin the treasuries ofבֵּיתthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

   Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.

   אָזthenיַקְהֵילhe called togetherשְׁלֹמֹהSolomonאֶת־זִקְנֵיthe elders ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְאֶת־כׇּל־רָאשֵׁיand all the heads ofהַמַּטּוֹתthe tribesנְשִׂיאֵיthe chiefs ofהָאָבוֹתthe fathersלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםto Jerusalemלְהַעֲלוֹתto bring upאֶת־אֲרוֹןthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהcovenant of the LORDמֵעִירout of the city ofדָּוִידDavidהִיאit isצִיּוֹן׃Zion

   Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

   וַיִּקָּהֲלוּand gatheredאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְunto the kingכׇּל־אִישׁall the men ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelבֶּחָגat the festivalהוּאheהַחֹדֶשׁthe monthהַשְּׁבִעִי׃the seventh

   Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.

   וַיָּבֹאוּand they cameכֹּלallזִקְנֵיthe elders ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוַיִּשְׂאוּand liftedהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesאֶת־הָאָרוֹן׃the ark

   And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.

   וַיַּעֲלוּand they ascendedאֶת־הָאָרוֹןthe arkוְאֶת־אֹהֶלand tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationוְאֶת־כׇּל־כְּלֵיand all vessels ofהַקֹּדֶשׁthe sanctuaryאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּאֹהֶלin the Tentהֶעֱלוּbrought upאֹתָםthemהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsהַלְוִיִּם׃the Levites

   And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

6. 6

   וְהַמֶּלֶךְand the kingשְׁלֹמֹהSolomonוְכׇל־עֲדַתand all congregation ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelהַנּוֹעָדִיםthose which has gatheredעָלָיוupon himלִפְנֵיbeforeהָאָרוֹןthe arkמְזַבְּחִיםwere sacrificingצֹאןflocksוּבָקָרand herdsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יִסָּפְרוּnot they were countedוְלֹאand notיִמָּנוּthey were numberedמֵרֹב׃from the multitude of

   Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

7. 7

   וַיָּבִיאוּand broughtהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאֶת־אֲרוֹןthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהcovenant of the LORDאֶל־מְקוֹמוֹto its own placeאֶל־דְּבִירto the inner sanctuary ofהַבַּיִתthe houseאֶל־קֹדֶשׁto holyהַקֳּדָשִׁיםthe holy thingsאֶל־תַּחַתto underכַּנְפֵיwings ofהַכְּרוּבִים׃the cherubim

   And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:

8. 8

   וַיִּהְיוּand they wereהַכְּרוּבִיםthe cherubimפֹּרְשִׂיםwere spreading outכְּנָפַיִםwingsעַל־מְקוֹםupon the placeהָאָרוֹןthe arkוַיְכַסּוּand they coveredהַכְּרוּבִיםthe cherubimעַל־הָאָרוֹןupon the arkוְעַל־בַּדָּיוand upon its polesמִלְמָעְלָה׃from above

   For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

9. 9

   וַיַּאֲרִיכוּand were prolongedהַבַּדִּיםthe polesוַיֵּרָאוּand they were seenרָאשֵׁיthe heads ofהַבַּדִּיםthe polesמִן־הָאָרוֹןfrom the arkעַל־פְּנֵיupon the face ofהַדְּבִירthe innermost roomוְלֹאand notיֵרָאוּappearהַחוּצָהthe outsideוַיְהִי־שָׁםand it came to pass thereעַדuntilהַיּוֹםthe dayהַזֶּה׃this

   And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.

10. 10

    אֵיןthere is noבָּאָרוֹןin the arkרַקonlyשְׁנֵיtwoהַלֻּחוֹתthe tabletsאֲשֶׁר־נָתַןwhich gaveמֹשֶׁהMosesבְּחֹרֵבat Horebאֲשֶׁרwhichכָּרַתmadeיְהֹוָהthe LORDעִם־בְּנֵיwith the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelבְּצֵאתָםwhen they came outמִמִּצְרָיִם׃from Egypt

    There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11. 11

    וַיְהִיand it came to passבְּצֵאתat going forth ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsמִן־הַקֹּדֶשׁfrom the sanctuaryכִּיforכׇּל־הַכֹּהֲנִיםall the priestsהַנִּמְצְאִיםthose who were foundהִתְקַדָּשׁוּhad sanctified themselvesאֵיןthere is noלִשְׁמוֹרto keepלְמַחְלְקוֹת׃to divisions

    And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:

12. 12

    וְהַלְוִיִּםand the Levitesהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםthe singersלְכֻלָּםthem allלְאָסָףAsaphלְהֵימָןfor HemanלִידֻתוּןJeduthunוְלִבְנֵיהֶםand for their sonsוְלַאֲחֵיהֶםand their brethrenמְלֻבָּשִׁיםclothedבּוּץfine linenבִּמְצִלְתַּיִםwith cymbalsוּבִנְבָלִיםand on lyresוְכִנֹּרוֹתand harpsעֹמְדִיםstandingמִזְרָחeastלַמִּזְבֵּחַfor the altarוְעִמָּהֶםand having with themכֹּהֲנִיםpriestsלְמֵאָהto a hundredוְעֶשְׂרִיםand twenty[מַחְצְרִים]trumpetersבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת׃on trumpets

    Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

13. 13

    וַיְהִיand it came to passכְאֶחָדas one[לַמְחַצְּרִים]to the trumpetersוְלַמְשֹׁרְרִיםand to the male singersלְהַשְׁמִיעַto breathe outקוֹל־אֶחָדvoice of oneלְהַלֵּלto praiseוּלְהֹדוֹתand to give thanksלַיהֹוָהto the LORDוּכְהָרִיםand when lifted upקוֹלthe voice ofבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתon trumpetsוּבִמְצִלְתַּיִםand with cymbalsוּבִכְלֵיand with the instruments ofהַשִּׁירthe songוּבְהַלֵּלand when praisedלַיהֹוָהto the LORDכִּיbecauseטוֹבgoodכִּיbecauseלְעוֹלָםforeverחַסְדּוֹhis mercyוְהַבַּיִתand the houseמָלֵאfilledעָנָןa cloudבֵּיתthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

14. 14

    וְלֹא־יָכְלוּand not could theyהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsלַעֲמוֹדto standלְשָׁרֵתto serveמִפְּנֵיbecause ofהֶעָנָןthe cloudכִּי־מָלֵאbecause filledכְבוֹד־יְהֹוָהthe glory of the LORDאֶת־בֵּיתhouse ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

    So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
