   Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

   וַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he setהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsעַל־מִשְׁמְרוֹתָםal-mish/me/ro/TAMin their chargesוַיְחַזְּקֵםvay/chaz/ze/KEMand encouraged themלַעֲבוֹדַתla/a/vo/DATfor the service ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,

   And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

   [וְהָכִינוּ]ve/ha/KHI/nuand prepare yourselvesלְבֵית־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶםle/VET-a/vo/te/KHEMby the house of your fathersכְּמַחְלְקוֹתֵיכֶםke/mach/le/ko/te/KHEMby your divisionsבִּכְתָבbikh/TAVaccording to the writing ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidמֶלֶךְME/lekhking ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּבְמִכְתַּבu/ve/mikh/TAVand according to the writing ofשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonבְנוֹ׃ve/NOhis son

   And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

   וְעִמְדוּve/im/DUand standבַקֹּדֶשׁvak/KO/deshin the holy placeלִפְלוּגֹּתlif/lug/GOTaccording to the groups ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלַאֲחֵיכֶםla/a/che/KHEMof your brothersבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַחֲלֻקַּתva/cha/luk/KATand the portion ofבֵּית־אָבbet-ava father's houseלַלְוִיִּם׃Lal/viy/YIMof the Levites

   And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.

   וְשַׁחֲטוּve/sha/cha/TUand slaughterהַפָּסַחhap/PA/sachthe passoverוְהִתְקַדְּשׁוּve/hit/kad/de/SHUand sanctify yourselvesוְהָכִינוּve/ha/KHI/nuand prepareלַאֲחֵיכֶםla/a/che/KHEMfor your brothersלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכִּדְבַר־יְהֹוָהkid/VAR-Adonaiaccording to the word of the LORDבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃be/YAD-mo/SHEby the hand of Moses

   So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

   And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.

   And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

   Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

    וַתִּכּוֹןvat/tik/KONso was preparedהָעֲבוֹדָהha/a/vo/DAthe serviceוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stoodהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsעַל־עׇמְדָםal-om/DAMin their placeוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesעַל־מַחְלְקוֹתָםal-mach/le/ko/TAMby their divisionsכְּמִצְוַתke/mits/VATaccording to the commandment ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king's commandment.

11. 11

    וַיִּשְׁחֲטוּvay/yish/cha/TUand they slaughteredהַפָּסַחhap/PA/sachthe passoverוַיִּזְרְקוּvay/yiz/re/KUand sprinkledהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsמִיָּדָםmiy/ya/DAMfrom their handוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesמַפְשִׁיטִים׃maf/shi/TIMskinned

    And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.

12. 12

    וַיָּסִירוּvay/ya/SI/ruand they removedהָעֹלָהha/o/LAthe burnt offeringsלְתִתָּםle/tit/TAMto give themלְמִפְלַגּוֹתle/mif/lag/GOTby the groups ofלְבֵית־אָבוֹתle/VET-a/VOTfathers' housesלִבְנֵיliv/NEof the children ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלְהַקְרִיבle/hak/RIVto offerלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenבְּסֵפֶרbe/SE/ferin the book ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְכֵןve/KHENand soלַבָּקָר׃lab/ba/KARwith the oxen

    And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.

13. 13

    וַיְבַשְּׁלוּvay/vash/she/LUand they roastedהַפֶּסַחhap/PE/sachthe passoverבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireכַּמִּשְׁפָּטkam/mish/PATaccording to the ordinanceוְהַקֳּדָשִׁיםve/hak/ko/da/SHIMand the holy offeringsבִּשְּׁלוּbish/she/LUthey boiledבַּסִּירוֹתbas/si/ROTin the potsוּבַדְּוָדִיםu/vad/de/va/DIMand in the kettlesוּבַצֵּלָחוֹתu/vats/tse/la/CHOTand in the pansוַיָּרִיצוּvay/ya/RI/tsuand carried quicklyלְכׇל־בְּנֵיle/KHOL-be/NEto all the children ofהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

    And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.

14. 14

    וְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterwardהֵכִינוּhe/KHI/nuthey preparedלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesוְלַכֹּהֲנִיםve/lak/ko/ha/NIMand for the priestsכִּיkiforהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronבְּהַעֲלוֹתbe/ha/a/LOTwere offeringהָעוֹלָהha/o/LAthe burnt offeringsוְהַחֲלָבִיםve/ha/cha/la/VIMand the fatעַד־לָיְלָהad-LAY/launtil nightוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesהֵכִינוּhe/KHI/nuthey preparedלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesוְלַכֹּהֲנִיםve/lak/ko/ha/NIMand for the priestsבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאַהֲרֹן׃A/ha/RONAaron

    And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

    וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםve/ham/shor/RIMand the singersבְּנֵי־אָסָףbe/NE-a/SAFthe sons of Asaphעַל־מַעֲמָדָםal-ma/a/ma/DAMwere in their placeכְּמִצְוַתke/mits/VATaccording to the commandment ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוְאָסָףve/A/SAFand Asaphוְהֵימָןve/He/MANand HemanוִידֻתוּןVi/du/TUNand Jeduthunחוֹזֵהcho/ZEthe seer ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְהַשֹּׁעֲרִיםve/hash/sho/a/RIMand the gatekeepersלְשַׁעַרle/SHA/arat gateוָשָׁעַרva/SHA/arand gateאֵיןenthere was noלָהֶםla/HEMfor themלָסוּרla/SURto departמֵעַלme/ALfromעֲבֹדָתָםa/vo/da/TAMtheir serviceכִּי־אֲחֵיהֶםki-a/che/HEMfor their brothersהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesהֵכִינוּhe/KHI/nupreparedלָהֶם׃la/HEMfor them

    And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

16. 16

    וַתִּכּוֹןvat/tik/KONso was preparedכׇּל־עֲבוֹדַתkol-a/vo/DATall the service ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto keepהַפֶּסַחhap/PE/sachthe passoverוְהַעֲלוֹתve/ha/a/LOTand to offerעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsעַלalonמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּמִצְוַתke/mits/VATaccording to the commandment ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingיֹאשִׁיָּהוּ׃Yo/shiy/YA/huJosiah

    So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

17. 17

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand keptבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelהַנִּמְצְאִיםhan/nim/tse/IMwho were presentאֶת־הַפֶּסַחet-hap/PE/sachthe passoverבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatוְאֶת־חַגve/ET-chagand the feast ofהַמַּצּוֹתham/mats/TSOTunleavened breadשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

    And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

18. 18

    וְלֹא־נַעֲשָׂהve/LO-na/a/SAand there was not keptפֶסַחFE/sacha passoverכָּמֹהוּka/MO/hulike itבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin IsraelמִימֵיMI/mefrom the days ofשְׁמוּאֵלShe/mu/ELSamuelהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetוְכׇל־מַלְכֵיve/KHOL-mal/KHEand all the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלֹא־עָשׂוּlo-a/SUhad not keptכַּפֶּסַחkap/PE/sachsuch a passover asאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat keptיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםve/hak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAwho were presentוְיוֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

    בִּשְׁמוֹנֶה־עֶשְׂרֵהbish/mo/NE-es/REon the eighteenthשָׁנָהsha/NAyearלְמַלְכוּתle/mal/KHUTof the reign ofיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas keptהַפֶּסַחhap/PE/sachthe passoverהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.

20. 20

    אַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכׇל־זֹאתkhol-zotall thisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenהֵכִיןhe/KHINhad preparedיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseעָלָהa/LAcame upנְכוֹNe/KHONechoמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִםME/lekh-Mits/RA/yimthe king of Egyptלְהִלָּחֵםle/hil/la/CHEMto fightבְּכַרְכְּמִישׁbe/Khar/ke/MISHat Carchemishעַל־פְּרָתal-Pe/RATby the Euphratesוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOto meet himיֹאשִׁיָּהוּ׃Yo/shiy/YA/huJosiah

    After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־לִּיma-liwhat have Iוָלָךְva/LAKHto do with youמֶלֶךְME/lekhO king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלֹא־עָלֶיךָlo-a/LE/khanot against youאַתָּהat/TAyouהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayכִּיkibutאֶל־בֵּיתel-betagainst the house ofמִלְחַמְתִּיmil/cham/TImy warוֵאלֹהִיםve/lo/HIMand Godאָמַרa/MARhas commandedלְבַהֲלֵנִיle/va/ha/LE/nime to hurryחֲדַל־לְךָcha/DAL-le/KHAstopמֵאֱלֹהִיםme/e/lo/HIMfrom Godאֲשֶׁר־עִמִּיa/SHER-im/MIwho is with meוְאַל־יַשְׁחִיתֶךָ׃ve/AL-yash/chi/TE/khathat He not destroy you

    But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

    וְלֹא־הֵסֵבve/LO-he/SEVbut would not turnיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahפָנָיוfa/NAYVhis faceמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himכִּיkibutלְהִלָּחֵם־בּוֹle/hil/la/CHEM-boto fight against himהִתְחַפֵּשׂhit/chap/PEShe disguised himselfוְלֹאve/LOand did notשָׁמַעsha/MAlistenאֶל־דִּבְרֵיel-div/REto the words ofנְכוֹNe/KHONechoמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouth ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameלְהִלָּחֵםle/hil/la/CHEMto fightבְּבִקְעַתbe/vik/ATin the valley ofמְגִדּוֹ׃Me/gid/DOMegiddo

    Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

    וַיֹּרוּvay/yo/RUand shotהַיֹּרִיםhay/yo/RIMthe archersלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhat KingיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלַעֲבָדָיוla/a/va/DAYVto his servantsהַעֲבִירוּנִיha/a/vi/RU/nitake me awayכִּיkiforהׇחֳלֵיתִיho/cho/LE/tiI am woundedמְאֹד׃me/ODseverely

    And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.

    וַיַּעֲבִירֻהוּvay/ya/a/vi/RU/huso took himעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsמִן־הַמֶּרְכָּבָהmin-ham/mer/ka/VAfrom the chariotוַיַּרְכִּיבֻהוּvay/yar/ki/vu/HUand put himעַלalinרֶכֶבRE/khevthe chariotהַמִּשְׁנֶהham/mish/NEsecondאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat he hadוַיּוֹלִיכֻהוּvay/yo/li/KHU/huand brought himיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand he diedוַיִּקָּבֵרvay/yik/ka/VERand was buriedבְּקִבְרוֹתbe/kiv/ROTin the tombs ofאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemמִתְאַבְּלִיםmit/ab/be/LIMmournedעַל־יֹאשִׁיָּהוּ׃al-Yo/shiy/YA/hufor Josiah

    His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

    And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahוַחֲסָדָיוva/cha/sa/DAYVand his kindnessesכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVaccording to what was writtenבְּתוֹרַתbe/to/RATin the law ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,

    וּדְבָרָיוu/de/va/RAYVand his actsהָרִאשֹׁנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMthe firstוְהָאַחֲרֹנִיםve/ha/a/cha/ro/NIMand the latterהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofמַלְכֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלmal/KHE-Yis/ra/ELthe kings of Israelוִיהוּדָה׃Vi/hu/DAand Judah

    And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
