וַיִּקְחוּand they tookעַם־הָאָרֶץthe people of the landאֶת־יְהוֹאָחָזJehoahazבֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּהוּson of Josiahוַיַּמְלִיכֻהוּand made him kingתַחַת־אָבִיוinstead of his fatherבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃in Jerusalem
Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

בֶּן־שָׁלוֹשׁson of threeוְעֶשְׂרִיםand twentyשָׁנָהyearsיוֹאָחָזJehoahazבְּמׇלְכוֹwhen he began to reignוּשְׁלֹשָׁהand threeחֳדָשִׁיםmonthsמָלַךְreignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃in Jerusalem
Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

וַיְסִירֵהוּand he removed himמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִםking of Egyptבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםin Jerusalemוַיַּעֲנֹשׁand he imposed a fine onאֶת־הָאָרֶץthe landמֵאָהa hundredכִכַּר־כֶּסֶףa talent of silverוְכִכַּרand a round loaf ofזָהָב׃gold
And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

וַיַּמְלֵךְand he made kingמֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִםking of Egyptאֶת־אֶלְיָקִיםEliakimאָחִיוhis brotherעַל־יְהוּדָהupon Judahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםand Jerusalemוַיַּסֵּבand turnedאֶת־שְׁמוֹhis nameיְהוֹיָקִיםJehoiakimוְאֶת־יוֹאָחָזand Jehoahazאָחִיוhis brotherלָקַחtookנְכוֹNechoוַיְבִיאֵהוּand brought himמִצְרָיְמָה׃to Egypt
And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםson of twentyוְחָמֵשׁand fiveשָׁנָהyearsיְהוֹיָקִיםJehoiakimבְּמׇלְכוֹwhen he began to reignוְאַחַת־עֶשְׂרֵהand elevenשָׁנָהyearsמָלַךְreignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםin Jerusalemוַיַּעַשׂand he didהָרַעthe evilבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהָיו׃his God
Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

עָלָיוupon himעָלָהascendedנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNebuchadnezzarמֶלֶךְthe king ofבָּבֶלBabylonוַיַּאַסְרֵהוּand he bound himבַּנְחֻשְׁתַּיִםwith bronze fettersלְהֹלִיכוֹto take himבָּבֶלָה׃into Babylon
Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

וּמִכְּלֵיand some of the articles ofבֵּיתthe house ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDהֵבִיאbroughtנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNebuchadnezzarלְבָבֶלto Babylonוַיִּתְּנֵםand he made themבְּהֵיכָלוֹin his palaceבְּבָבֶל׃on Babylon
Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

וְיֶתֶרand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיthe words ofיְהוֹיָקִיםJehoiakimוְתֹעֲבֹתָיוand his abominationsאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהwhich didוְהַנִּמְצָאand the one who was foundעָלָיוupon himהִנָּםbehold theyכְּתוּבִיםthere are writtenעַל־סֵפֶרin the book ofמַלְכֵיkings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוִיהוּדָהand Judahוַיִּמְלֹךְand he did reignיְהוֹיָכִיןJehoiachinבְּנוֹhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃in his stead
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

בֶּן־שְׁמוֹנֶהson of eightשָׁנִיםyearsיְהוֹיָכִיןJehoiachinבְּמׇלְכוֹwhen he began to reignוּשְׁלֹשָׁהand threeחֳדָשִׁיםmonthsוַעֲשֶׂרֶתand tenיָמִיםdaysמָלַךְreignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםin Jerusalemוַיַּעַשׂand he didהָרַעthe evilבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD
Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

וְלִתְשׁוּבַתand to the return ofהַשָּׁנָהthe yearשָׁלַחsentהַמֶּלֶךְthe kingנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNebuchadnezzarוַיְבִאֵהוּand brought himבָבֶלָהto Babylonעִם־כְּלֵיwith vessels ofחֶמְדַּתdesirable thing ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהthe house of the LORDוַיַּמְלֵךְand he made kingאֶת־צִדְקִיָּהוּZedekiahאָחִיוhis brotherעַל־יְהוּדָהupon Judahוִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃and Jerusalem
And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםson of twentyוְאַחַתand oneשָׁנָהyearצִדְקִיָּהוּZedekiahבְמׇלְכוֹwhen he began to reignוְאַחַת־עֶשְׂרֵהand elevenשָׁנָהyearsמָלַךְreignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃in Jerusalem
Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

וַיַּעַשׂand he didהָרַעthe evilבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהָיוhis Godלֹאnotנִכְנַעhe humbled himselfמִלִּפְנֵיfrom the presence ofיִרְמְיָהוּJeremiahהַנָּבִיאthe prophetמִפִּיfrom the mouth ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

וְגַםand alsoבַּמֶּלֶךְagainst the kingנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNebuchadnezzarמָרָדhe rebelledאֲשֶׁרwhichהִשְׁבִּיעוֹwho had made him swearבֵּאלֹהִיםin Godוַיֶּקֶשׁand he made stiffאֶת־עׇרְפּוֹhis neckוַיְאַמֵּץand he made hardאֶת־לְבָבוֹhis heartמִשּׁוּבfrom turning backאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel
And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

גַּםalsoכׇּל־שָׂרֵיall captains ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsוְהָעָםand the peopleהִרְבּוּmultiplied(למעול)[לִמְעׇל־]מַעַלgreatly to transgressכְּכֹלaccording to allתֹּעֲבוֹתthe abominations ofהַגּוֹיִםthe nationsוַיְטַמְּאוּand they made uncleanאֶת־בֵּיתhouse ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֲשֶׁרwhichהִקְדִּישׁhe consecratedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃in Jerusalem
Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

וַיִּשְׁלַחand sentיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםtheir fathersעֲלֵיהֶםupon themבְּיַדin the hand ofמַלְאָכָיוhis messengersהַשְׁכֵּםrising up earlyוְשָׁלוֹחַand sendingכִּי־חָמַלbecause He did spareעַל־עַמּוֹupon his peopleוְעַל־מְעוֹנוֹ׃and upon his dwelling place
And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16
וַיִּהְיוּand they wereמַלְעִבִיםderidingבְּמַלְאֲכֵיthe messengers ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe Godוּבוֹזִיםand despisedדְּבָרָיוHis wordsוּמִתַּעְתְּעִיםand mockingבִּנְבִאָיוat his prophetsעַדuntilעֲלוֹתthe ascending ofחֲמַת־יְהֹוָהthe wrath of the LORDבְּעַמּוֹagainst his peopleעַד־לְאֵיןuntil to there is noמַרְפֵּא׃remedy
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17
וַיַּעַלand he brought upעֲלֵיהֶםupon themאֶת־מֶלֶךְthe king of[כַּשְׂדִּים]the Chaldeansוַיַּהֲרֹגand he murderedבַּחוּרֵיהֶםtheir young menבַּחֶרֶבwith the swordבְּבֵיתin the house ofמִקְדָּשָׁםtheir sanctuaryוְלֹאand notחָמַלhe sparedעַל־בָּחוּרupon chosenוּבְתוּלָהand young womanזָקֵןoldוְיָשֵׁשׁand the decrepitהַכֹּלallנָתַןgaveבְּיָדוֹ׃in his hand
Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

וְכֹלand allכְּלֵיvessels ofבֵּיתthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe Godהַגְּדֹלִיםthe greatוְהַקְּטַנִּיםand the smallוְאֹצְרוֹתand supplies ofבֵּיתthe house ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְאֹצְרוֹתand supplies ofהַמֶּלֶךְthe kingוְשָׂרָיוand his princesהַכֹּלallהֵבִיאbroughtבָבֶל׃to Babylon
And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19
וַיִּשְׂרְפוּand they burnedאֶת־בֵּיתhouse ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe Godוַיְנַתְּצוּand they pulled downאֵת־חוֹמַתthe walls ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםJerusalemוְכׇל־אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָand all its palacesשָׂרְפוּthey burnedבָאֵשׁin fireוְכׇל־כְּלֵיand all vessels ofמַחֲמַדֶּיהָits preciousnessלְהַשְׁחִית׃to destroy
And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

וַיֶּגֶלand he took into exileהַשְּׁאֵרִיתthe remnantמִן־הַחֶרֶבfrom the swordאֶל־בָּבֶלto Babylonוַיִּהְיוּ־לוֹand they were himוּלְבָנָיוand for his sonsלַעֲבָדִיםfor servantsעַד־מְלֹךְuntil the reign ofמַלְכוּתthe reign ofפָּרָס׃Persia
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

לְמַלֹּאותto fulfilדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDבְּפִיin the mouth ofיִרְמְיָהוּJeremiahעַד־רָצְתָהuntil had enjoyedהָאָרֶץthe landאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתֶיהָits sabbathsכׇּל־יְמֵיall days ofהׇשַּׁמָּהits desolationשָׁבָתָהit restedלְמַלֹּאותto fulfilשִׁבְעִיםseventyשָׁנָה׃years
To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

וּבִשְׁנַתand in the year ofאַחַתoneלְכוֹרֶשׁof Cyrusמֶלֶךְthe king ofפָּרַסPersiaלִכְלוֹתthat might be fulfilledדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDבְּפִיin the mouth ofיִרְמְיָהוּJeremiahהֵעִירstirred upיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־רוּחַthe Spirit ofכּוֹרֶשׁCyrusמֶלֶךְ־פָּרַסking of Persiaוַיַּעֲבֶר־קוֹלand he caused to pass voice ofבְּכׇל־מַלְכוּתוֹin all his kingdomוְגַם־בְּמִכְתָּבand also in writingלֵאמֹר׃saying
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

כֹּה־אָמַרthus saysכּוֹרֶשׁCyrusמֶלֶךְthe king ofפָּרַסPersiaכׇּל־מַמְלְכוֹתall the kingdoms ofהָאָרֶץthe earthנָתַןgaveלִיto meיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofהַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensוְהוּא־פָקַדand he has chargedעָלַיupon meלִבְנוֹת־לוֹto build for himבַיִתhouseבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםin Jerusalemאֲשֶׁרwhichבִּיהוּדָהthrough Judahמִי־בָכֶםwho over youמִכׇּל־עַמּוֹfrom all his peopleיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהָיוhis Godעִמּוֹwith himוְיָעַל׃and let him go up
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
