   Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

   Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

   And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

   And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

   Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

   Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

   וּמִכְּלֵיu/mik/ke/LEalso some of the vessels ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהֵבִיאhe/VIcarriedנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzarלְבָבֶלle/Va/VELto Babylonוַיִּתְּנֵםvay/yit/te/NEMand put themבְּהֵיכָלוֹbe/he/kha/LOin his templeבְּבָבֶל׃be/Va/VELin Babylon

   Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

   וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיְהוֹיָקִיםYe/ho/ya/KIMJehoiakimוְתֹעֲבֹתָיוve/to/a/vo/TAYVand his abominationsאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he didוְהַנִּמְצָאve/han/nim/TSAand what was foundעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedיְהוֹיָכִיןYe/ho/ya/KHINJehoiachinבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

   Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

   Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

    And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

    Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godלֹאlonotנִכְנַעnikh/NAdid he humble himselfמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEbeforeיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouth ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoבַּמֶּלֶךְbam/ME/lekhagainst the kingנְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּרNe/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzarמָרָדma/RADhe rebelledאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִשְׁבִּיעוֹhish/bi/Ohad made him swearבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMby Godוַיֶּקֶשׁvay/YE/keshand he stiffenedאֶת־עׇרְפּוֹet-or/POhis neckוַיְאַמֵּץvay/am/METSand hardenedאֶת־לְבָבוֹet-le/va/VOhis heartמִשּׁוּבmish/SHUVagainst turningאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

14. 14

    גַּםgammoreoverכׇּל־שָׂרֵיkol-sa/REall the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהָעָםve/ha/AMand the peopleהִרְבּוּhir/BUincreased(למעול)lamval[לִמְעׇל־]מַעַלlim/OL-MA/alto commit trespassכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allתֹּעֲבוֹתto/a/VOTthe abominations ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsוַיְטַמְּאוּvay/tam/me/Uand they pollutedאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִקְדִּישׁhik/DISHHe had sanctifiedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15. 15

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofמַלְאָכָיוmal/a/KHAYVHis messengersהַשְׁכֵּםhash/KEMrising earlyוְשָׁלוֹחַve/sha/LO/achand sendingכִּי־חָמַלki-cha/MALfor He had compassionעַל־עַמּוֹal-am/MOon His peopleוְעַל־מְעוֹנוֹ׃ve/AL-me/o/NOand on His dwelling place

    And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16. 16

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUbut they wereמַלְעִבִיםmal/i/VIMmockingבְּמַלְאֲכֵיbe/mal/a/KHEthe messengers ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוּבוֹזִיםu/vo/ZIMand despisingדְּבָרָיוde/va/RAYVHis wordsוּמִתַּעְתְּעִיםu/mit/ta/te/IMand scoffingבִּנְבִאָיוbin/vi/AYVat His prophetsעַדaduntilעֲלוֹתa/LOTroseחֲמַת־יְהֹוָהcha/MAT-Adonaithe wrath of the LORDבְּעַמּוֹbe/am/MOagainst His peopleעַד־לְאֵיןad-le/ENuntil there was noמַרְפֵּא׃mar/PEremedy

    But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

17. 17

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/altherefore He brought upעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themאֶת־מֶלֶךְet-ME/lekhthe king of[כַּשְׂדִּים]Kas/DIMthe Chaldeansוַיַּהֲרֹגvay/ya/ha/ROGwho killedבַּחוּרֵיהֶםba/chu/re/HEMtheir young menבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revwith the swordבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofמִקְדָּשָׁםmik/da/SHAMtheir sanctuaryוְלֹאve/LOand notחָמַלcha/MALhad compassionעַל־בָּחוּרal-ba/CHURon young manוּבְתוּלָהu/ve/tu/LAor virginזָקֵןza/KENold manוְיָשֵׁשׁve/ya/SHESHor agedהַכֹּלhak/KOLallנָתַןna/TANHe gaveבְּיָדוֹ׃be/ya/DOinto his hand

    Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allכְּלֵיke/LEthe vessels ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהַגְּדֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMgreatוְהַקְּטַנִּיםve/hak/ke/tan/NIMand smallוְאֹצְרוֹתve/ots/ROTand the treasures ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְאֹצְרוֹתve/ots/ROTand the treasures ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְשָׂרָיוve/sa/RAYVand of his princesהַכֹּלhak/KOLallהֵבִיאhe/VIhe broughtבָבֶל׃Va/VELto Babylon

    And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

19. 19

    וַיִּשְׂרְפוּvay/yis/re/FUand they burnedאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיְנַתְּצוּvay/nat/te/TSUand broke downאֵת־חוֹמַתet-cho/MATthe wall ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְכׇל־אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָve/KHOL-ar/me/no/TE/haand all its palacesשָׂרְפוּsa/re/FUthey burnedבָאֵשׁva/ESHwith fireוְכׇל־כְּלֵיve/KHOL-ke/LEand all the vessels ofמַחֲמַדֶּיהָma/cha/mad/DE/haits precious thingsלְהַשְׁחִית׃le/hash/CHITdestroying

    And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

    וַיֶּגֶלvay/YE/geland he carried awayהַשְּׁאֵרִיתhash/she/e/RITthe remnantמִן־הַחֶרֶבmin-ha/CHE/revfrom the swordאֶל־בָּבֶלel-Ba/VELto Babylonוַיִּהְיוּ־לוֹvay/yih/YU-loand they became to himוּלְבָנָיוu/le/va/NAYVand to his sonsלַעֲבָדִיםla/a/va/DIMservantsעַד־מְלֹךְad-me/LOKHuntil the reign ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofפָּרָס׃Pa/RASPersia

    And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

21. 21

    לְמַלֹּאותle/mal/LOTto fulfillדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDבְּפִיbe/FIby the mouth ofיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahעַד־רָצְתָהad-ra/tse/TAuntil had enjoyedהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתֶיהָet-shab/be/to/TE/haits sabbathsכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofהׇשַּׁמָּהhosh/sham/MAdesolationשָׁבָתָהsha/VA/tait kept sabbathלְמַלֹּאותle/mal/LOTto fulfillשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

    To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

    וּבִשְׁנַתu/vish/NATand in the year ofאַחַתa/CHAToneלְכוֹרֶשׁle/KHO/reshof CyrusמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofפָּרַסPa/RASPersiaלִכְלוֹתlikh/LOTthat might be accomplishedדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDבְּפִיbe/FIby the mouth ofיִרְמְיָהוּYir/me/YA/huJeremiahהֵעִירhe/IRstirred upיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־רוּחַet-RU/achthe spirit ofכּוֹרֶשׁKO/reshCyrusמֶלֶךְ־פָּרַסME/lekh-Pa/RASthe king of Persiaוַיַּעֲבֶר־קוֹלvay/ya/a/VER-koland he made a proclamationבְּכׇל־מַלְכוּתוֹbe/KHOL-mal/khu/TOthroughout all his kingdomוְגַם־בְּמִכְתָּבve/GAM-be/mikh/TAVand also in writingלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

    Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
