   Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand walkedבְּדַרְכֵיbe/dar/KHEin the ways ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוְלֹא־סָרve/LO-sarand did not turn asideיָמִיןya/MINto the rightוּשְׂמֹאול׃us/MOLor left

   And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

   For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

   וַיְנַתְּצוּvay/nat/te/TSUand they broke downלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himאֵת־מִזְבְּחוֹתet-miz/be/CHOTthe altars ofהַבְּעָלִיםhab/Be/a/LIMthe Baalimוְהַחַמָּנִיםve/ha/cham/ma/NIMand the incense altarsאֲשֶׁר־לְמַעְלָהa/SHER-le/MA/lathat were highמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMabove themגִּדֵּעַgid/DE/ahe cut downוְהָאֲשֵׁרִיםve/Ha/a/she/RIMand the Asherimוְהַפְּסִלִיםve/hap/pe/si/LIMand the carved imagesוְהַמַּסֵּכוֹתve/ham/mas/se/KHOTand the molten imagesשִׁבַּרshib/BARhe broke in piecesוְהֵדַקve/he/DAKand made dust of themוַיִּזְרֹקvay/yiz/ROKand strewed itעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEonהַקְּבָרִיםhak/ke/va/RIMthe graves ofהַזֹּבְחִיםhaz/zov/CHIMthose who had sacrificedלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

   And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.

   וְעַצְמוֹתve/ats/MOTand the bones ofכֹּהֲנִיםko/ha/NIMpriestsשָׂרַףsa/RAFhe burnedעַל־[מִזְבְּחוֹתָם]al-miz/be/cho/TAMupon their altarsוַיְטַהֵרvay/ta/HERand he cleansedאֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃ve/ET-ye/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalem

   And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

   וּבְעָרֵיu/ve/a/REand in the cities ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehוְאֶפְרַיִםve/Ef/RA/yimand Ephraimוְשִׁמְעוֹןve/Shim/ONand Simeonוְעַד־נַפְתָּלִיve/AD-naf/ta/LIand to Naphtali(בחרvacharבתיהם)vatayaham[בְּחַרְבֹתֵיהֶם]be/char/vo/te/HEMin their ruinsסָבִיב׃sa/VIVround about

   And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.

   וַיְנַתֵּץvay/nat/TETSand he broke downאֶת־הַמִּזְבְּחוֹתet-ham/miz/be/CHOTthe altarsוְאֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרִיםve/ET-ha/a/she/RIMand the Asherimוְהַפְּסִלִיםve/hap/pe/si/LIMand the carved imagesכִּתַּתkit/TAThe beatלְהֵדַקle/he/DAKinto powderוְכׇל־הַחַמָּנִיםve/KHOL-ha/cham/ma/NIMand all the incense altarsגִּדַּעgid/DAhe cut downבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsthroughout all the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedלִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃lI/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

   Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God.

   And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they put itעַל־יַדal-yadinto the hand ofעֹשֵׂהo/SEthose doingהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workהַמֻּפְקָדִיםham/muf/ka/DIMwho are appointed overבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveאֹתוֹo/TOitעוֹשֵׂיo/SEto those doingהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעֹשִׂיםo/SIMworkedבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִבְדּוֹקliv/DOKto repairוּלְחַזֵּקu/le/chaz/ZEKand to restoreהַבָּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

    And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the LORD, and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the LORD, to repair and amend the house:

11. 11

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand gave itלֶחָרָשִׁיםle/cha/ra/SHIMto the craftsmenוְלַבֹּנִיםve/lab/bo/NIMand to the buildersלִקְנוֹתlik/NOTto buyאַבְנֵיav/NEstones ofמַחְצֵבmach/TSEVhewnוְעֵצִיםve/e/TSIMand timberלַמְחַבְּרוֹתlam/chab/be/ROTfor couplingsוּלְקָרוֹתu/le/ka/ROTand for beamsאֶת־הַבָּתִּיםet-hab/bat/TIMthe housesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִשְׁחִיתוּhish/CHI/tuhad let go to ruinמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.

    וְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdidבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAfaithfullyבַּמְּלָאכָהbam/me/la/KHAthe workוַעֲלֵיהֶםva/a/le/HEMand over themמֻפְקָדִיםmuf/ka/DIMwere appointedיַחַתYA/chatJahathוְעֹבַדְיָהוּve/O/vad/YA/huand ObadiahהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִן־בְּנֵיmin-be/NEof the sons ofמְרָרִיMe/ra/RIMerariוּזְכַרְיָהu/Ze/khar/YAand Zechariahוּמְשֻׁלָּםu/Me/shul/LAMand Meshullamמִן־בְּנֵיmin-be/NEof the sons ofהַקְּהָתִיםhak/Ke/ha/TIMthe Kohathitesלְנַצֵּחַle/nats/TSE/achto overseeוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesכׇּל־מֵבִיןkol-me/VINall who were skilledבִּכְלֵי־שִׁיר׃bikh/LE-shirin instruments of music

    And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick.

    וְעַלve/ALand overהַסַּבָּלִיםhas/sab/ba/LIMthe burden bearersוּמְנַצְּחִיםu/me/nats/tse/CHIMand directedלְכֹלle/KHOLallעֹשֵׂהo/SEwho didמְלָאכָהme/la/KHAthe workלַעֲבוֹדָהla/a/vo/DAin serviceוַעֲבוֹדָהva/a/vo/DAand serviceוּמֵהַלְוִיִּםu/Me/hal/viy/YIMand of the Levitesסוֹפְרִיםsof/RIMwere scribesוְשֹׁטְרִיםve/shot/RIMand officersוְשׁוֹעֲרִים׃ve/sho/a/RIMand gatekeepers

    Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

14. 14

    וּבְהוֹצִיאָםu/ve/ho/tsi/AMand when they brought outאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverהַמּוּבָאham/mu/VAthat was broughtבֵּיתbetto the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמָצָאma/TSAfoundחִלְקִיָּהוּChil/kiy/YA/huHilkiahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־סֵפֶרet-SE/ferthe book ofתּוֹרַת־יְהֹוָהto/RAT-Adonaithe law of the LORDבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃be/YAD-mo/SHEby the hand of Moses

    And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses.

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredחִלְקִיָּהוּChil/kiy/YA/huHilkiahוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־שָׁפָןel-Sha/FANto Shaphanהַסּוֹפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeסֵפֶרSE/ferthe book ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawמָצָאתִיma/TSA/tiI have foundבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveחִלְקִיָּהוּChil/kiy/YA/huHilkiahאֶת־הַסֵּפֶרet-has/SE/ferthe bookאֶל־שָׁפָן׃el-Sha/FANto Shaphan

    And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

16. 16

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtשָׁפָןSha/FANShaphanאֶת־הַסֵּפֶרet-has/SE/ferthe bookאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingוַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevand brought backעוֹדodalsoאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingדָּבָרda/VARwordלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־נִתַּןa/SHER-nit/TANthat was committedבְּיַד־עֲבָדֶיךָbe/YAD-a/va/DE/khato the hand of your servantsהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂים׃o/SIMare doing

    And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it.

17. 17

    וַיַּתִּיכוּvay/yat/TI/khuand they have emptied outאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAthat was foundבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDוַיִּתְּנוּהוּvay/yit/te/NU/huand have delivered itעַל־יַדal-yadinto the hand ofהַמֻּפְקָדִיםham/muf/ka/DIMwho are appointed overוְעַל־יַדve/AL-yadand into the hand ofעוֹשֵׂיo/SEthose doingהַמְּלָאכָה׃ham/me/la/KHAthe work

    And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.

18. 18

    וַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand he toldשָׁפָןSha/FANShaphanהַסּוֹפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhthe kingלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingסֵפֶרSE/fera bookנָתַןna/TANhas givenלִיlito meחִלְקִיָּהוּChil/kiy/YA/huHilkiahהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוַיִּקְרָא־בוֹvay/yik/RA-voand read in itשָׁפָןSha/FANShaphanלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֵת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe words ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawוַיִּקְרַעvay/yik/RAand he toreאֶת־בְּגָדָיו׃et-be/ga/DAYVhis garments

    And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶת־חִלְקִיָּהוּet-Chil/kiy/YA/huHilkiahוְאֶת־אֲחִיקָםve/ET-a/chi/KAMand Ahikamבֶּן־שָׁפָןben-Sha/FANthe son of Shaphanוְאֶת־עַבְדּוֹןve/ET-av/DONand Abdonבֶּן־מִיכָהben-Mi/KHAthe son of Micahוְאֵתve/ETandשָׁפָןSha/FANShaphanהַסּוֹפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeוְאֵתve/ETandעֲשָׂיָהA/sa/YAAsaiahעֶבֶד־הַמֶּלֶךְE/ved-ham/ME/lekhthe servant of the kingלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying,

    לְכוּle/KHUgoדִרְשׁוּdir/SHUinquire ofאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDבַּעֲדִיba/a/DIfor meוּבְעַדu/ve/ADand forהַנִּשְׁאָרhan/nish/ARthose who are leftבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin Israelוּבִיהוּדָהu/Vi/hu/DAand in Judahעַל־דִּבְרֵיal-div/REconcerning the words ofהַסֵּפֶרhas/SE/ferthe bookאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִמְצָאnim/TSAwas foundכִּי־גְדוֹלָהki-ge/do/LAfor great isחֲמַת־יְהֹוָהcha/MAT-Adonaithe wrath of the LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִתְּכָהnit/te/KHAis poured outבָנוּVA/nuon usעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־שָׁמְרוּlo-sha/me/RUhave not keptאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכְּכׇל־הַכָּתוּבke/KHOL-hak/ka/TUVaccording to all that is writtenעַל־הַסֵּפֶרal-has/SE/ferin the bookהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.

    And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect.

    And she answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold I amמֵבִיאme/VIbringingרָעָהra/Aevilעַל־הַמָּקוֹםal-ham/ma/KOMupon the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַל־יוֹשְׁבָיוve/AL-yosh/VAYVand upon its inhabitantsאֵת־כׇּל־הָאָלוֹתet-kol-ha/a/LOTall the cursesהַכְּתוּבוֹתhak/ke/tu/VOTthat are writtenעַל־הַסֵּפֶרal-has/SE/ferin the bookאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatקָרְאוּka/re/Uthey have readלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

    תַּחַתTA/chatin place ofאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעֲזָבוּנִיa/za/VU/nithey have forsaken Me[וַיְקַטְּרוּ]vay/kat/te/RUand have burned incenseלֵאלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםle/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMto other godsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatהַכְעִיסֵנִיhakh/i/SE/nithey might provoke Meבְּכֹלbe/KHOLwith allמַעֲשֵׂיma/a/SEthe works ofיְדֵיהֶםye/de/HEMtheir handsוְתִתַּךְve/tit/TAKHtherefore shall be poured outחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TIMy wrathבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMupon the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְלֹאve/LOand notתִכְבֶּה׃tikh/BEshall be quenched

    Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.

26. 26

    וְאֶל־מֶלֶךְve/EL-ME/lekhbut to the king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהַשֹּׁלֵחַhash/sho/LE/achwho sentאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלִדְרוֹשׁlid/ROSHto inquireבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiof the LORDכֹּהkothusתֹאמְרוּto/me/RUshall you sayאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMas for the wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשָׁמָעְתָּ׃sha/MA/tayou have heard

    And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;

27. 27

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseרַךְ־לְבָבְךָrakh-le/va/ve/KHAyour heart was tenderוַתִּכָּנַעvat/tik/ka/NAand you humbled yourselfמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּשׇׁמְעֲךָbe/shom/a/KHAwhen you heardאֶת־דְּבָרָיוet-de/va/RAYVHis wordsעַל־הַמָּקוֹםal-ham/ma/KOMagainst the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַל־יֹשְׁבָיוve/AL-yosh/VAYVand against its inhabitantsוַתִּכָּנַעvat/tik/ka/NAand you humbled yourselfלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore Meוַתִּקְרַעvat/tik/RAand have tornאֶת־בְּגָדֶיךָet-be/ga/DE/khayour garmentsוַתֵּבְךְּvat/TEVKand you weptלְפָנָיle/fa/NAYbefore Meוְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NIand also Iשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tihave heardנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisays the LORD

    Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.

28. 28

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold I amאֹסִפְךָo/sif/KHAwill gather youאֶל־אֲבֹתֶיךָel-a/vo/TE/khato your fathersוְנֶאֱסַפְתָּve/ne/e/saf/TAand you shall be gatheredאֶל־קִבְרוֹתֶיךָel-kiv/ro/te/KHAto your graveבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceוְלֹא־תִרְאֶינָהve/LO-tir/E/naand shall not seeעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesבְּכֹלbe/KHOLallהָרָעָהha/ra/Athe evilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIמֵבִיאme/VIam bringingעַל־הַמָּקוֹםal-ham/ma/KOMupon the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַל־יֹשְׁבָיוve/AL-yosh/VAYVand upon its inhabitantsוַיָּשִׁיבוּvay/ya/SHI/vuand they brought backאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingדָּבָר׃da/VARword

    Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

29. 29

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHthen sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיֶּאֱסֹףvay/ye/e/SOFand he gatheredאֶת־כׇּל־זִקְנֵיet-kol-zik/NEall the elders ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Vi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalem

    Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

30. 30

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaito the house of the LORDוְכׇל־אִישׁve/KHOL-ishand all the men ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםve/hak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleמִגָּדוֹלmig/ga/DOLgreatוְעַד־קָטָןve/AD-ka/TANand smallוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he readבְאׇזְנֵיהֶםve/oz/ne/HEMin their earsאֶת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵיet-kol-div/REall the words ofסֵפֶרSE/ferthe book ofהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantהַנִּמְצָאhan/nim/TSAthat was foundבֵּיתbetin the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.

31. 31

    וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingעַל־עׇמְדוֹal-om/DOin his placeוַיִּכְרֹתvay/yikh/ROTand madeאֶת־הַבְּרִיתet-hab/be/RITthe covenantלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְלִשְׁמוֹרve/lish/MORand to keepאֶת־מִצְוֺתָיוet-mits/vo/TAYVHis commandmentsוְעֵדְוֺתָיוve/ed/vo/TAYVand His testimoniesוְחֻקָּיוve/chuk/KAYVand His statutesבְּכׇל־לְבָבוֹbe/KHOL-le/va/VOwith all his heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשׁוֹu/ve/KHOL-naf/SHOand with all his soulלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe words ofהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־הַסֵּפֶרal-has/SE/ferin the bookהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.

32. 32

    וַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he caused to standאֵת־כׇּל־הַנִּמְצָאet-kol-han/nim/TSAall who were presentבִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוּבִנְיָמִןu/Vin/ya/MINand Benjaminוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand didיוֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemכִּבְרִיתkiv/RITaccording to the covenant ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃a/vo/te/HEMtheir fathers

    And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

33. 33

    וַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand removedיֹאשִׁיָּהוּYo/shiy/YA/huJosiahאֶת־כׇּל־הַתֹּעֵבוֹתet-kol-hat/to/e/VOTall the abominationsמִכׇּל־הָאֲרָצוֹתmik/KOL-ha/a/ra/TSOTfrom all the landsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat belongedלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיַּעֲבֵדvay/ya/a/VEDand made serveאֵת־כׇּל־הַנִּמְצָאet-kol-han/nim/TSAall who were presentבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin Israelלַעֲבוֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godכׇּל־יָמָיוkol-ya/MAYVall his daysלֹאlonotסָרוּSA/rudid they turnמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom followingיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃a/vo/te/HEMtheir fathers

    And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. And all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.
