   Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּתוֹעֲבוֹתke/to/a/VOTaccording to the abominations ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהוֹרִישׁho/RISHhad dispossessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom beforeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

   וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand againוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venhe builtאֶת־הַבָּמוֹתet-hab/ba/MOTthe high placesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִתַּץnit/TATShad broken downיְחִזְקִיָּהוּYe/chiz/kiy/YA/huHezekiahאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיָּקֶםvay/YA/kemand he raised upמִזְבְּחוֹתmiz/be/CHOTaltarsלַבְּעָלִיםlab/Be/a/LIMfor the Baalimוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand madeאֲשֵׁרוֹתA/she/ROTAsherothוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chuand he bowed downלְכׇל־צְבָאle/KHOL-tse/VAto all the host ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוַיַּעֲבֹדvay/ya/a/VODand servedאֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

   For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

   וּבָנָהu/va/NAand he builtמִזְבְּחוֹתmiz/be/CHOTaltarsבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichאָמַרa/MARhad saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemיִהְיֶה־שְּׁמִיyih/YE-she/MIMy name shall beלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

   Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

   וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venhe builtמִזְבְּחוֹתmiz/be/CHOTaltarsלְכׇל־צְבָאle/KHOL-tse/VAto all the host ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensבִּשְׁתֵּיbish/TEin the twoחַצְרוֹתchats/ROTcourts ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָה׃bet-Adonaithe house of the LORD

   And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

   וְהוּאve/HUand heהֶעֱבִירhe/e/VIRcaused to passאֶת־בָּנָיוet-ba/NAYVhis sonsבָּאֵשׁba/ESHthrough the fireבְּגֵיbe/GEin the valley ofבֶן־הִנֹּםven-Hin/NOMthe son of Hinnomוְעוֹנֵןve/o/NENand practiced soothsayingוְנִחֵשׁve/ni/CHESHand sought omensוְכִשֵּׁףve/khish/SHEFand practiced sorceryוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand appointedאוֹבova mediumוְיִדְּעוֹנִיve/yid/de/o/NIand spiritistsהִרְבָּהhir/BAhe multipliedלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהַכְעִיסוֹ׃le/hakh/i/SOto provoke Him to anger

   And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

   And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

   וְלֹאve/LOand notאֹסִיףo/SIFwill I againלְהָסִירle/ha/SIRremoveאֶת־רֶגֶלet-RE/gelthe foot ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמֵעַלme/ALfromהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֶעֱמַדְתִּיhe/e/MAD/tiI have appointedלַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםla/a/vo/te/KHEMto your fathersרַקrakonlyאִם־יִשְׁמְרוּim-yish/me/RUif they will be carefulלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatצִוִּיתִיםtsiv/vi/TIMI have commanded themלְכׇל־הַתּוֹרָהle/KHOL-hat/to/RAaccording to all the lawוְהַחֻקִּיםve/ha/chuk/KIMand the statutesוְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ham/mish/pa/TIMand the judgmentsבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃be/YAD-mo/SHEby the hand of Moses

   Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

   וַיֶּתַעvay/YE/taso led astrayמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרָעraevilמִן־הַגּוֹיִםmin-hag/go/YIMmore than the nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִשְׁמִידhish/MIDhad destroyedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom beforeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

10. 10

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מְנַשֶּׁהel-Me/nash/SHEto Manassehוְאֶל־עַמּוֹve/EL-am/MOand to his peopleוְלֹאve/LOand notהִקְשִׁיבוּ׃hik/SHI/vuwould they listen

    And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.

11. 11

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand broughtיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאֶת־שָׂרֵיet-sa/REthe commanders ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat belongedלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto the king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוַיִּלְכְּדוּvay/yil/ke/DUwho tookאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁהet-Me/nash/SHEManassehבַּחֹחִיםba/cho/CHIMwith hooksוַיַּאַסְרֻהוּvay/ya/as/RU/huand bound himבַּנְחֻשְׁתַּיִםban/chush/TA/yimwith bronze fettersוַיּוֹלִיכֻהוּvay/yo/li/KHU/huand carried himבָּבֶלָה׃ba/VE/lato Babylon

    Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

12. 12

    וּכְהָצֵרu/khe/ha/TSERand when in distressלוֹlohe wasחִלָּהchil/LAhe imploredאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEthe face ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godוַיִּכָּנַעvay/yik/ka/NAand humbled himselfמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבֹתָיו׃a/vo/TAYVhis fathers

    And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

13. 13

    וַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand he prayedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto Himוַיֵּעָתֶרvay/ye/A/terand He was entreatedלוֹloby himוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardתְּחִנָּתוֹte/chin/na/TOhis supplicationוַיְשִׁיבֵהוּvay/shi/VE/huand brought him backיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemלְמַלְכוּתוֹle/mal/khu/TOinto his kingdomוַיֵּדַעvay/YE/dathen knewמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehכִּיkithatיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּאhuHe isהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thisבָּנָהba/NAhe builtחוֹמָהcho/MAa wallחִיצוֹנָהchi/tso/NAouterלְעִיר־דָּוִידle/IR-da/VIDfor the city of Davidמַעְרָבָהma/RA/vawestwardלְגִיחוֹןle/Gi/CHONof Gihonבַּנַּחַלban/NA/chalin the valleyוְלָבוֹאve/la/VOeven to the entranceבְשַׁעַרve/SHA/arat the gate ofהַדָּגִיםhad/da/GIMthe fishוְסָבַבve/sa/VAVand encircledלָעֹפֶלla/O/felthe Ophelוַיַּגְבִּיהֶהָvay/yag/bi/HE/haand raised itמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he setשָׂרֵי־חַיִלsa/RE-CHA/yilcommanders of the armyבְּכׇל־הֶעָרִיםbe/KHOL-he/a/RIMin all the citiesהַבְּצֻרוֹתhab/be/tsu/ROTthe fortifiedבִּיהוּדָה׃bI/hu/DAin Judah

    Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.

15. 15

    וַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand he removedאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיet-e/lo/HEthe gods ofהַנֵּכָרhan/ne/KHARforeignוְאֶת־הַסֶּמֶלve/ET-has/SE/meland the idolמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְכׇל־הַמִּזְבְּחוֹתve/KHOL-ham/miz/be/CHOTand all the altarsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּנָהba/NAhe had builtבְּהַרbe/HARon the mount ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָהbet-Adonaithe house of the LORDוּבִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםu/Vi/ru/sha/LA/yimand in Jerusalemוַיַּשְׁלֵךְvay/yash/LEKHand cast themחוּצָהCHU/tsaoutsideלָעִיר׃la/IRof the city

    And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

16. 16

    (ויכן)vayakhan[וַיִּבֶן]vay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־מִזְבַּחet-miz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּזְבַּחvay/yiz/BACHand he sacrificedעָלָיוa/LAYVon itזִבְחֵיziv/CHEsacrifices ofשְׁלָמִיםshe/la/MIMpeace offeringsוְתוֹדָהve/to/DAand thank offeringsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand commandedלִיהוּדָהlI/hu/DAto Judahלַעֲבוֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.

17. 17

    אֲבָלa/VALbutעוֹדodstillהָעָםha/AMthe peopleזֹבְחִיםzov/CHIMsacrificedבַּבָּמוֹתbab/ba/MOTat the high placesרַקrakonlyלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir God

    Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.

18. 18

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehוּתְפִלָּתוֹu/te/fil/la/TOand his prayerאֶל־אֱלֹהָיוel-e/lo/HAYVto his Godוְדִבְרֵיve/div/REand the words ofהַחֹזִיםha/cho/ZIMthe seersהַמְדַבְּרִיםham/dab/be/RIMwho spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areעַל־דִּבְרֵיal-div/REin the acts ofמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.

19. 19

    וּתְפִלָּתוֹu/te/fil/la/TOand his prayerוְהֵעָתֶר־לוֹve/he/A/ter-loand His being entreated by himוְכׇל־חַטָּאתוֹve/KHOL-chat/ta/TOand all his sinוּמַעְלוֹu/ma/LOand his trespassוְהַמְּקֹמוֹתve/ham/me/ko/MOTand the placesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichבָּנָהba/NAhe builtבָהֶםva/HEMin themבָּמוֹתba/MOThigh placesוְהֶעֱמִידve/he/e/MIDand set upהָאֲשֵׁרִיםha/A/she/RIMthe Asherimוְהַפְּסִלִיםve/hap/pe/si/LIMand the carved imagesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהִכָּנְעוֹhik/ka/ne/Ohe humbled himselfהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַלalinדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofחוֹזָי׃cho/ZAYthe seers

    His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

20. 20

    וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּקְבְּרֻהוּvay/yik/be/RU/huand they buried himבֵּיתוֹbe/TOin his houseוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedאָמוֹןA/MONAmonבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

21. 21

    בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִיםben-es/RIMa son of twentyוּשְׁתַּיִםush/TA/yimand twoשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsאָמוֹןA/MONAmonבְּמׇלְכוֹbe/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוּשְׁתַּיִםush/TA/yimand twoשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.

22. 22

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAhad doneמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוּלְכׇל־הַפְּסִילִיםu/le/KHOL-hap/pe/si/LIMfor to all the carved imagesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhad madeמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherזִבַּחzib/BACHsacrificedאָמוֹןA/MONAmonוַיַּעַבְדֵם׃vay/ya/av/DEMand he served them

    But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;

23. 23

    וְלֹאve/LObut notנִכְנַעnikh/NAdid he humble himselfמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכְּהִכָּנַעke/hik/ka/NAas had humbled himselfמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherכִּיkibutהוּאhuthisאָמוֹןA/MONAmonהִרְבָּהhir/BAmultipliedאַשְׁמָה׃ash/MAguilt

    And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

24. 24

    וַיִּקְשְׁרוּvay/yik/she/RUand they conspiredעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsוַיְמִיתֻהוּvay/mi/TU/huand put him to deathבְּבֵיתוֹ׃be/ve/TOin his house

    And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.

25. 25

    וַיַּכּוּvay/yak/KUand they struckעַם־הָאָרֶץam-ha/A/retsthe people of the landאֵת־כׇּל־הַקֹּשְׁרִיםet-kol-hak/kosh/RIMall who had conspiredעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhagainst kingאָמוֹןA/MONAmonוַיַּמְלִיכוּvay/yam/LI/khuand they made kingעַם־הָאָרֶץam-ha/A/retsthe people of the landאֶת־יֹאשִׁיָּהוּet-Yo/shiy/YA/huJosiahבְנוֹve/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
