   It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

   Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.

   וַיִּרָאvay/yi/RAand fearedוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand setיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatאֶת־פָּנָיוet-pa/NAYVhis faceלִדְרוֹשׁlid/ROSHto seekלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORDוַיִּקְרָא־צוֹםvay/yik/RA-tsomand proclaimed a fastעַל־כׇּל־יְהוּדָה׃al-Kol-ye/hu/DAthroughout all Judah

   And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

   וַיִּקָּבְצוּvay/yik/ka/ve/TSUand gatheredיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto askמֵיְהֹוָהme-Adonaifrom the LORDגַּםgamalsoמִכׇּל־עָרֵיmik/KOL-a/REfrom all the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahבָּאוּBA/ucameלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

   And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

   וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatבִּקְהַלbik/HALin the assembly ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהֶחָצֵרhe/cha/TSERthe courtהַחֲדָשָׁה׃ha/cha/da/SHAthe new

   And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

   וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersהֲלֹאha/LOare notאַתָּה־הוּאat/TA-huYouאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin the heavensוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand Youמוֹשֵׁלmo/SHELruleבְּכֹלbe/KHOLover allמַמְלְכוֹתmam/le/KHOTthe kingdoms ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsוּבְיָדְךָu/ve/ya/de/KHAand in Your hand isכֹּחַKO/achpowerוּגְבוּרָהu/ge/vu/RAand mightוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noneעִמְּךָim/me/KHAagainst Youלְהִתְיַצֵּב׃le/hit/yats/TSEVto stand

   And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

   הֲלֹאha/LOdid notאַתָּהat/TAYouאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godהוֹרַשְׁתָּho/RASH/tadrive outאֶת־יֹשְׁבֵיet-yosh/VEthe inhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presence ofעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַתִּתְּנָהּvat/tit/te/NAand give itלְזֶרַעle/ZE/rato the seed ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֹהַבְךָo/hav/KHAYour friendלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

   Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

   וַיֵּשְׁבוּ־בָהּvay/yesh/VU-vaand they dwelt in itוַיִּבְנוּvay/yiv/NUand they builtלְךָle/KHAfor Youבָּהּbain itמִקְדָּשׁmik/DASHa sanctuaryלְשִׁמְךָle/shim/KHAfor Your nameלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

   אִם־תָּבוֹאim-ta/VOif comesעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuupon usרָעָהra/AevilחֶרֶבCHE/revswordשְׁפוֹטshe/FOTjudgmentוְדֶבֶרve/DE/veror pestilenceוְרָעָבve/ra/AVor famineנַעַמְדָהNA/am/dalet us standלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוּלְפָנֶיךָu/le/fa/NE/khaand before Youכִּיkiforשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour name isבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְנִזְעַקve/niz/AKand cryאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youמִצָּרָתֵנוּmits/tsa/ra/TE/nuin our distressוְתִשְׁמַעve/tish/MAand You will hearוְתוֹשִׁיעַ׃ve/to/SHI/aand save

   If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבְנֵי־עַמּוֹןve/NE-am/MONthe children of Ammonוּמוֹאָבu/Mo/AVand Moabוְהַר־שֵׂעִירve/HAR-se/IRand Mount Seirאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomלֹא־נָתַתָּהlo-na/TAT/taYou would not letלְיִשְׂרָאֵלle/Yis/ra/ELto Israelלָבוֹאla/VOinvadeבָהֶםva/HEMthemבְּבֹאָםbe/vo/AMwhen they cameמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptכִּיkibutסָרוּSA/ruthey turnedמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMfrom themוְלֹאve/LOand notהִשְׁמִידוּם׃hish/mi/DUMdid they destroy them

    And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

    וְהִנֵּה־הֵםve/hin/NE-hemand behold theyגֹּמְלִיםgom/LIMrepayעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuusלָבוֹאla/VOto comeלְגָרְשֵׁנוּle/ga/re/SHE/nuto drive us outמִיְּרֻשָּׁתְךָmiy/ye/rush/sha/te/KHAof Your possessionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהוֹרַשְׁתָּנוּ׃ho/rash/TA/nuYou have given us to inherit

    Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

    אֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuO our Godהֲלֹאha/LOwill You notתִשְׁפׇּט־בָּםtish/POT-bamjudge themכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noבָּנוּBA/nuin usכֹּחַKO/achstrengthלִפְנֵיlif/NEagainstהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeהָרָבha/RAVgreatהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהַבָּאhab/BAthat comesעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weלֹאlonotנֵדַעne/DAknowמַה־נַּעֲשֶׂהma-na/a/SEwhat to doכִּיkibutעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaon Youעֵינֵינוּ׃e/NE/nuare our eyes

    O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

    וְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahעֹמְדִיםom/DIMstoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDגַּם־טַפָּםgam-tap/PAMwith their little onesנְשֵׁיהֶםne/she/HEMtheir wivesוּבְנֵיהֶם׃u/ve/ne/HEMand their children

    And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

14. 14

    וְיַחֲזִיאֵלve/Ya/cha/zi/ELand Jahazielבֶּן־זְכַרְיָהוּben-Ze/khar/YA/huthe son of Zechariahבֶּן־בְּנָיָהben-Be/na/YAthe son of Benaiahבֶּן־יְעִיאֵלben-Ye/i/ELthe son of Jeielבֶּן־מַתַּנְיָהben-Mat/tan/YAthe son of Mattaniahהַלֵּוִיhal/Le/VIthe Leviteמִן־בְּנֵיmin-be/NEof the sons ofאָסָףA/SAFAsaphהָיְתָהha/ye/TAcameעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himרוּחַRU/achthe Spirit ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהַקָּהָל׃hak/ka/HALthe assembly

    Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַקְשִׁיבוּhak/SHI/vuhearkenכׇל־יְהוּדָהkhol-Ye/hu/DAall Judahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְהַמֶּלֶךְve/ham/ME/lekhand the kingיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Udo not fearוְאַל־תֵּחַתּוּve/AL-te/CHAT/tuand do not be dismayedמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeהָרָבha/RAVthe greatהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkiforלֹאlonotלָכֶםla/KHEMyours isהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe battleכִּיkibutלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMGod's

    And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

16. 16

    מָחָרma/CHARtomorrowרְדוּre/DUgo downעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areעֹלִיםo/LIMcoming upבְּמַעֲלֵהbe/ma/a/LEon the ascent ofהַצִּיץHats/TSITSZizוּמְצָאתֶםu/me/tsa/TEMand you will findאֹתָםo/TAMthemבְּסוֹףbe/SOFat the end ofהַנַּחַלhan/NA/chalthe brookפְּנֵיpe/NEbeforeמִדְבַּרmid/BARthe wilderness ofיְרוּאֵל׃Ye/ru/ELJeruel

    To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

    לֹאlonotלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youלְהִלָּחֵםle/hil/la/CHEMto fightבָּזֹאתba/ZOTin thisהִתְיַצְּבוּhit/yats/tse/VUposition yourselvesעִמְדוּim/DUstandוּרְאוּu/re/Uand seeאֶת־יְשׁוּעַתet-ye/shu/ATthe salvation ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAO Judahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemאַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Udo not fearוְאַל־תֵּחַתּוּve/AL-te/CHAT/tuand do not be dismayedמָחָרma/CHARtomorrowצְאוּtse/Ugo outלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMagainst themוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDעִמָּכֶם׃im/ma/KHEMis with you

    Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

18. 18

    וַיִּקֹּדvay/yik/KODand bowedיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatאַפַּיִםap/PA/yimhis faceאָרְצָהAR/tsato the groundוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemנָפְלוּna/fe/LUfellלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTworshipingלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

    And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

19. 19

    וַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand stood upהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִן־בְּנֵיmin-be/NEof the children ofהַקְּהָתִיםhak/Ke/ha/TIMthe Kohathitesוּמִן־בְּנֵיu/MIN-be/NEand of the children ofהַקׇּרְחִיםhak/Kor/CHIMthe Korahitesלְהַלֵּלle/hal/LELto praiseלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלְמָעְלָה׃le/MA/laexceedingly

    And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

20. 20

    וַיַּשְׁכִּימוּvay/yash/KI/muand they rose earlyבַבֹּקֶרvab/BO/kerin the morningוַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand went outלְמִדְבַּרle/mid/BARinto the wilderness ofתְּקוֹעַTe/KO/aTekoaוּבְצֵאתָםu/ve/tse/TAMand as they went outעָמַדa/MADstoodיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidשְׁמָעוּנִיshe/ma/U/nihear meיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAO Judahוְיֹשְׁבֵיve/yosh/VEand the inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemהַאֲמִינוּha/a/MI/nubelieveבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוְתֵאָמֵנוּve/te/a/ME/nuand you shall be establishedהַאֲמִינוּha/a/MI/nubelieveבִנְבִיאָיוvin/vi/AYVin His prophetsוְהַצְלִיחוּ׃ve/hats/LI/chuand you shall prosper

    And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

21. 21

    וַיִּוָּעַץvay/yiv/va/ATSand he consultedאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMwith the peopleוַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he appointedמְשֹׁרְרִיםme/shor/RIMsingersלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוּמְהַלְלִיםu/me/hal/LIMand those who praiseלְהַדְרַת־קֹדֶשׁle/had/RAT-KO/deshin the beauty of holinessבְּצֵאתbe/TSETas they went outלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהֶחָלוּץhe/cha/LUTSthe armyוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingהוֹדוּho/DUgive thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDכִּיkiforלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverחַסְדּוֹ׃chas/DOHis kindness

    And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22. 22

    וּבְעֵתu/ve/ETand at the timeהֵחֵלּוּhe/CHEL/luthey beganבְרִנָּהve/rin/NAwith singingוּתְהִלָּהu/te/hil/LAand praiseנָתַןna/TANsetיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמְאָרְבִיםme/a/re/VIMambushesעַל־בְּנֵיal-be/NEagainst the children ofעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabוְהַר־שֵׂעִירve/HAR-se/IRand Mount Seirהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMwho had comeלִיהוּדָהlI/hu/DAagainst Judahוַיִּנָּגֵפוּ׃vay/yin/na/GE/fuand they were struck down

    And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

23. 23

    וַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUfor stood upבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוּמוֹאָבu/Mo/AVand Moabעַל־יֹשְׁבֵיal-yosh/VEagainst the inhabitants ofהַר־שֵׂעִירHar-se/IRMount Seirלְהַחֲרִיםle/ha/cha/RIMto devote to destructionוּלְהַשְׁמִידu/le/hash/MIDand to destroyוּכְכַלּוֹתָםu/khe/khal/lo/TAMand when they had made an endבְּיוֹשְׁבֵיbe/yosh/VEwith the inhabitants ofשֵׂעִירSe/IRSeirעָזְרוּa/ze/RUthey helpedאִישׁ־בְּרֵעֵהוּish-be/re/E/hueach against his neighborלְמַשְׁחִית׃le/mash/CHITto destroy

    For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

24. 24

    וִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahבָּאbacameעַל־הַמִּצְפֶּהal-ham/mits/PEto the watchtowerלַמִּדְבָּרlam/mid/BARof the wildernessוַיִּפְנוּvay/yif/NUthey lookedאֶל־הֶהָמוֹןel-he/ha/MONto the multitudeוְהִנָּםve/hin/NAMand behold they wereפְּגָרִיםpe/ga/RIMcorpsesנֹפְלִיםnof/LIMfallenאַרְצָהAR/tsato the groundוְאֵיןve/ENand noneפְּלֵיטָה׃pe/le/TAescaped

    And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוְעַמּוֹve/am/MOand his peopleלָבֹזla/VOZto takeאֶת־שְׁלָלָםet-she/la/LAMtheir spoilוַיִּמְצְאוּvay/yim/tse/Uand they foundבָהֶםva/HEMamong themלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceוּרְכוּשׁu/re/KHUSHand goodsוּפְגָרִיםu/fe/ga/RIMand corpsesוּכְלֵיu/khe/LEand articles ofחֲמֻדוֹתcha/mu/DOTvalueוַיְנַצְּלוּvay/nats/tse/LUand they stripped offלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesלְאֵיןle/ENuntil there was noמַשָּׂאmas/SAcarryingוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereיָמִיםya/MIMdaysשְׁלוֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeבֹּזְזִיםboz/ZIMplunderingאֶת־הַשָּׁלָלet-hash/sha/LALthe plunderכִּיkiforרַב־הוּא׃rav-huit was much

    And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

    And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.

    וַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery man ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand JerusalemוִיהוֹשָׁפָטVi/ho/sha/FATand Jehoshaphatבְּרֹאשָׁםbe/ro/SHAMat their headלָשׁוּבla/SHUVreturningאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםel-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyכִּי־שִׂמְּחָםki-sim/me/CHAMfor had made them rejoiceיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמֵאוֹיְבֵיהֶם׃me/oy/ve/HEMover their enemies

    Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

28. 28

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemבִּנְבָלִיםbin/va/LIMwith harpsוּבְכִנֹּרוֹתu/ve/khin/no/ROTand lyresוּבַחֲצֹצְרוֹתu/va/cha/tsots/ROTand with trumpetsאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.

29. 29

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passפַּחַדPA/chadthe dread ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעַלaluponכׇּל־מַמְלְכוֹתkol-mam/le/KHOTall the kingdoms ofהָאֲרָצוֹתha/a/ra/TSOTthe landsבְּשׇׁמְעָםbe/shom/AMwhen they heardכִּיkithatנִלְחַםnil/CHAMfoughtיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעִםimagainstאוֹיְבֵיoy/VEthe enemies ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.

30. 30

    וַתִּשְׁקֹטvat/tish/KOTso was quietמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוַיָּנַחvay/YA/nachfor gave restלוֹloto himאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVon every side

    So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.

31. 31

    וַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatעַל־יְהוּדָהal-Ye/hu/DAover Judahבֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁיםben-she/lo/SHIMa son of thirtyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsבְּמׇלְכוֹbe/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherעֲזוּבָהA/zu/VAAzubahבַּת־שִׁלְחִי׃bat-Shil/CHIthe daughter of Shilhi

    And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

32. 32

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he walkedבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhby the way ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherאָסָאA/SAAsaוְלֹא־סָרve/LO-sarand did not turnמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nafrom itלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.

33. 33

    אַךְakhbutהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruwere not removedוְעוֹדve/ODand as yetהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלֹא־הֵכִינוּlo-he/KHI/nuhad not setלְבָבָםle/va/VAMtheir heartsלֵאלֹהֵיle/lo/HEon the God ofאֲבֹתֵיהֶם׃a/vo/te/HEMtheir fathers

    Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatהָרִאשֹׁנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMthe firstוְהָאַחֲרֹנִיםve/ha/a/cha/ro/NIMand the latterהִנָּםhin/NAMbehold they areכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenבְּדִבְרֵיbe/div/REin the words ofיֵהוּאYe/HUJehuבֶן־חֲנָנִיven-Cha/NA/nithe son of Hananiאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֹעֲלָהho/a/LAwere insertedעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.

35. 35

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thisאֶתְחַבַּרet/chab/BARhe made an allianceיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of JudahעִםimwithאֲחַזְיָהA/chaz/YAAhaziahמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelהוּאhuwhoהִרְשִׁיעַhir/SHI/ahe acted wickedlyלַעֲשׂוֹת׃la/a/SOTin doing

    And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:

    וַיְחַבְּרֵהוּvay/chab/be/RE/huand he joined himעִמּוֹim/MOwith himלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeאֳנִיּוֹתo/niy/YOTshipsלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goתַּרְשִׁישׁTar/SHISHto Tarshishוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they madeאֳנִיּוֹתo/niy/YOTshipsבְּעֶצְיוֹןbe/Ets/YONat Ezion-גָּבֶר׃GA/vergeber

    And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Ezion-geber.

37. 37

    וַיִּתְנַבֵּאvay/yit/nab/BEand he prophesiedאֱלִיעֶזֶרE/li/E/zerEliezerבֶּן־דֹּדָוָהוּben-Do/da/VA/huthe son of Dodavahuמִמָּרֵשָׁהmim/Ma/re/SHAfrom Mareshahעַל־יְהוֹשָׁפָטal-Ye/ho/sha/FATagainst Jehoshaphatלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכְּהִתְחַבֶּרְךָke/hit/chab/ber/KHAbecause you have joinedעִם־אֲחַזְיָהוּim-A/chaz/YA/huwith Ahaziahפָּרַץpa/RATShas brokenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מַעֲשֶׂיךָet-ma/a/SE/khayour worksוַיִּשָּׁבְרוּvay/yish/sha/ve/RUand were brokenאֳנִיּוֹתo/niy/YOTthe shipsוְלֹאve/LOand notעָצְרוּa/tse/RUwere they ableלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶל־תַּרְשִׁישׁ׃el-Tar/SHISHto Tarshish

    Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
