   וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahאֶל־בֵּיתוֹel-be/TOto his houseבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceלִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃lI/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

   וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outאֶל־פָּנָיוel-pa/NAYVto meet himיֵהוּאYe/HUJehuבֶן־חֲנָנִיven-Cha/NA/nithe son of Hananiהַחֹזֶהha/cho/ZEthe seerוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatהֲלָרָשָׁעha/la/ra/SHAshould the wickedלַעְזֹרla/ZORyou helpוּלְשֹׂנְאֵיu/le/son/Eand those who hateיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDתֶּאֱהָבte/e/HAVloveוּבָזֹאתu/va/ZOTand because of thisעָלֶיךָa/LE/khais upon youקֶּצֶףKE/tsefwrathמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presence ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

   Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

   וַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he dweltיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand againוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEwent outבָעָםva/AMamong the peopleמִבְּאֵרmib/Be/ERfrom Beer-שֶׁבַעSHE/vashebaעַד־הַרad-harto the hill country ofאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוַיְשִׁיבֵםvay/shi/VEMand brought them backאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃a/vo/te/HEMtheir fathers

   And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.

   וַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he appointedשֹׁפְטִיםshof/TIMjudgesבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landבְּכׇל־עָרֵיbe/KHOL-a/REin all the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהַבְּצֻרוֹתhab/be/tsu/ROTthe fortifiedלְעִירle/IRcityוָעִיר׃va/IRby city

   And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הַשֹּׁפְטִיםel-hash/shof/TIMto the judgesרְאוּre/Uconsiderמָה־אַתֶּםma-at/TEMwhat youעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingכִּיkiforלֹאlonotלְאָדָםle/a/DAMfor manתִּשְׁפְּטוּtish/pe/TUdo you judgeכִּיkibutלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaifor the LORDוְעִמָּכֶםve/im/ma/KHEMand He is with youבִּדְבַרbid/VARin the matter ofמִשְׁפָּט׃mish/PATjudgment

   And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

7. 7

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיְהִיye/HIlet beפַחַד־יְהֹוָהFA/chad-Adonaithe fear of the LORDעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youשִׁמְרוּshim/RUtake heedוַעֲשׂוּva/a/SUand doכִּי־אֵיןki-enfor there is noעִם־יְהֹוָהim-Adonaiwith the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godעַוְלָהav/LAinjusticeוּמַשֹּׂאu/mas/SOand lifting up ofפָנִיםfa/NIMfacesוּמִקַּח־שֹׁחַד׃u/mik/KACH-SHO/chadand taking of a bribe

   Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

   וְגַםve/GAMand alsoבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemהֶעֱמִידhe/e/MIDappointedיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatמִן־הַלְוִיִּםmin-Hal/viy/YIMsome of the Levitesוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםve/hak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוּמֵרָאשֵׁיu/me/ra/SHEand some of the heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלְיִשְׂרָאֵלle/Yis/ra/ELof Israelלְמִשְׁפַּטle/mish/PATfor the judgment ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְלָרִיבve/la/RIVand for disputesוַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.

   וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּהkothusתַעֲשׂוּןta/a/SUNyou shall doבְּיִרְאַתbe/yir/ATin the fear ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAfaithfullyוּבְלֵבָבu/ve/le/VAVand with a heartשָׁלֵם׃sha/LEMwhole

   And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

    וְכׇל־רִיבve/KHOL-rivand whatever disputeאֲשֶׁר־יָבוֹאa/SHER-ya/VOthat comesעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youמֵאֲחֵיכֶםme/a/che/KHEMfrom your brothersהַיֹּשְׁבִיםhay/yosh/VIMwho dwellבְּעָרֵיהֶםbe/a/re/HEMin their citiesבֵּין־דָּםben-dambetween bloodלְדָםle/DAMand bloodבֵּין־תּוֹרָהben-to/RAbetween lawלְמִצְוָהle/mits/VAand commandmentלְחֻקִּיםle/chuk/KIMand statutesוּלְמִשְׁפָּטִיםu/le/mish/pa/TIMand judgmentsוְהִזְהַרְתֶּםve/hiz/har/TEMyou shall warnאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְלֹאve/LOand notיֶאְשְׁמוּye/she/MUthey may become guiltyלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiagainst the LORDוְהָיָה־קֶצֶףve/ha/YA-KE/tsefand wrath comeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youוְעַל־אֲחֵיכֶםve/AL-a/che/KHEMand upon your brothersכֹּהkothusתַעֲשׂוּןta/a/SUNyou shall doוְלֹאve/LOand notתֶאְשָׁמוּ׃te/SHA/muyou shall be guilty

    And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.

    And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
