   And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

   And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.

   Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

   And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods.

   וּמִיu/MIbut whoיַעֲצׇר־כֹּחַya/a/TSOR-KO/achis ableלִבְנוֹת־לוֹliv/NOT-loto build HimבַיִתVA/yita houseכִּיkisinceהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוּשְׁמֵיu/she/MEand the heavens ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensלֹאlocannotיְכַלְכְּלֻהוּye/khal/ke/LU/hucontain Himוּמִיu/MIand whoאֲנִיa/NIam Iאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶבְנֶה־לּוֹev/NE-loI should build HimבַיִתVA/yita houseכִּיkiexceptאִם־לְהַקְטִירim-le/hak/TIRto burn incenseלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore Him

   But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

   Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

   וּשְׁלַח־לִיu/she/LACH-liand send meעֲצֵיa/TSEtimber ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsבְּרוֹשִׁיםbe/ro/SHIMcypressוְאַלְגּוּמִּיםve/al/gum/MIMand algumמֵהַלְּבָנוֹןme/Hal/le/va/NONfrom Lebanonכִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NIIיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעֲבָדֶיךָa/va/DE/khayour servantsיוֹדְעִיםyod/IMknow howלִכְרוֹתlikh/ROTto cutעֲצֵיa/TSEthe timber ofלְבָנוֹןLe/va/NONLebanonוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsעִם־עֲבָדֶיךָ׃im-a/va/DE/khawill be with your servants

   Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,

   וּלְהָכִיןu/le/ha/KHINand to prepareלִיlifor meעֵצִיםe/TSIMtimberלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceכִּיkiforהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseאֲשֶׁר־אֲנִיa/SHER-a/NIthat Iבוֹנֶהvo/NEam buildingגָּדוֹלga/DOLwill be greatוְהַפְלֵא׃ve/haf/LEand wonderful

   Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdלַחֹטְבִיםla/chot/VIMto the woodcuttersלְכֹרְתֵיle/khor/TEwho cutהָעֵצִיםha/e/TSIMthe timberנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI will giveחִטִּיםchit/TIMwheatמַכּוֹתmak/KOTbeatenלַעֲבָדֶיךָla/a/va/DE/khato your servantsכֹּרִיםko/RIMcorsעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוּשְׂעֹרִיםu/se/o/RIMand barleyכֹּרִיםko/RIMcorsעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyאָלֶףA/lefthousandוְיַיִןve/YA/yinand wineבַּתִּיםbat/TIMbathsעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוְשֶׁמֶןve/SHE/menand oilבַּתִּיםbat/TIMbathsעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyאָלֶף׃A/lefthousand

   And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidחוּרָםChu/RAMHuramמֶלֶךְ־צֹרME/lekh-Tsorthe king of Tyreבִּכְתָבbikh/TAVin writingוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentאֶל־שְׁלֹמֹהel-She/lo/MOto Solomonבְּאַהֲבַתbe/a/ha/VATbecause of the love ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־עַמּוֹet-am/MOfor His peopleנְתָנְךָne/ta/ne/KHAHe has made youעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themמֶלֶךְ׃ME/lekhking

    Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidחוּרָםChu/RAMHuramבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָשָׂהa/SAmadeאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָתַןna/TANhas givenלְדָוִידle/Da/VIDto Davidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingבֵּןbena sonחָכָםcha/KHAMwiseיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aendowed withשֵׂכֶלSE/khelinsightוּבִינָהu/vi/NAand understandingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִבְנֶה־בַּיִתyiv/NE-BA/yitwill build a houseלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaifor the LORDוּבַיִתu/VA/yitand a houseלְמַלְכוּתוֹ׃le/mal/khu/TOfor his kingdom

    Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowשָׁלַחְתִּיsha/LACH/tiI have sentאִישׁ־חָכָםish-cha/KHAMa skilled manיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aendowed withבִּינָהbi/NAunderstandingלְחוּרָםLe/chu/RAMHuram-אָבִי׃a/VIabi

    And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's,

    בֶּן־אִשָּׁהben-ish/SHAthe son of a womanמִן־בְּנוֹתmin-be/NOTof the daughters ofדָּןDanDanוְאָבִיוve/a/VIVand his fatherאִישׁ־צֹרִיish-Tso/RIa man of Tyreיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/askilledלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doבַּזָּהָב־וּבַכֶּסֶףbaz/za/HAV-u/vak/KE/sefin gold and in silverבַּנְּחֹשֶׁתban/ne/CHO/shetin bronzeבַּבַּרְזֶלbab/bar/ZELin ironבָּאֲבָנִיםba/a/va/NIMin stoneוּבָעֵצִיםu/va/e/TSIMand in woodבָּאַרְגָּמָןba/ar/ga/MANin purpleבַּתְּכֵלֶתbat/te/KHE/letin blueוּבַבּוּץu/vab/BUTSand in the fine linenוּבַכַּרְמִילu/vak/kar/MILand in the crimsonוּלְפַתֵּחַu/le/fat/TE/achand to engraveכׇּל־פִּתּוּחַkol-pit/TU/achevery engravingוְלַחְשֹׁבve/lach/SHOVand to deviseכׇּל־מַחֲשָׁבֶתkol-ma/cha/SHA/vetevery designאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִנָּתֶן־לוֹyin/NA/ten-lomay be given himעִם־חֲכָמֶיךָim-cha/kha/ME/khawith your skilled menוְחַכְמֵיve/chakh/MEand the skilled men ofאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיךָ׃a/VI/khayour father

    The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהַחִטִּיםha/chit/TIMthe wheatוְהַשְּׂעֹרִיםve/has/se/o/RIMand the barleyהַשֶּׁמֶןhash/SHE/menthe oilוְהַיַּיִןve/hay/YA/yinand the wineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָמַרa/MARhas spoken ofאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordיִשְׁלַחyish/LACHlet him sendלַעֲבָדָיו׃la/a/va/DAYVto his servants

    Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:

15. 15

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weנִכְרֹתnikh/ROTwe will cutעֵצִיםe/TSIMtimberמִן־הַלְּבָנוֹןmin-Hal/le/va/NONfrom Lebanonכְּכׇל־צׇרְכֶּךָke/KHOL-tsor/KE/khaas much as you needוּנְבִיאֵםu/ne/vi/EMand we will bring themלְךָle/KHAto youרַפְסֹדוֹתraf/so/DOTraftsעַל־יָםal-yamby seaיָפוֹYa/FOto Joppaוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youתַּעֲלֶהta/a/LEshall bring upאֹתָםo/TAMthemיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.

    וַיִּסְפֹּרvay/yis/PORand countedשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonכׇּל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםkol-ha/a/na/SHIMall the menהַגֵּירִיםhag/ge/RIMthe sojournersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַסְּפָרhas/se/FARthe censusאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatסְפָרָםse/fa/RAMhad counted themדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיִּמָּצְאוּvay/yim/ma/tse/Uand there were foundמֵאָהme/Aa hundredוַחֲמִשִּׁיםva/cha/mish/SHIMand fiftyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוּשְׁלֹשֶׁתu/she/LO/shetand threeאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandוְשֵׁשׁve/SHESHand sixמֵאוֹת׃me/OThundred

    And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeמֵהֶםme/HEMof themשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandסַבָּלsab/BALburden bearersוּשְׁמֹנִיםu/she/mo/NIMand eightyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandחֹצֵבcho/TSEVstonecuttersבָּהָרba/HARin the mountainוּשְׁלֹשֶׁתu/she/LO/shetand threeאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandוְשֵׁשׁve/SHESHand sixמֵאוֹתme/OThundredמְנַצְּחִיםme/nats/tse/CHIMoverseersלְהַעֲבִידle/ha/a/VIDto make workאֶת־הָעָם׃et-ha/AMthe people

    And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work.
