   וַעֲזַרְיָהוּva/A/zar/YA/huand Azariahבֶּן־עוֹדֵדben-O/DEDthe son of Odedהָיְתָהha/ye/TAcameעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

   וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאָסָאA/SAAsaוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himשְׁמָעוּנִיshe/ma/U/nihear meאָסָאA/SAAsaוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahוּבִנְיָמִןu/Vin/ya/MINand BenjaminיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMis with youבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםbih/yot/KHEMwhile you areעִמּוֹim/MOwith Himוְאִם־תִּדְרְשֻׁהוּve/IM-tid/re/SHU/huand if you seek Himיִמָּצֵאyim/ma/TSEHe will be foundלָכֶםla/KHEMby youוְאִם־תַּעַזְבֻהוּve/IM-ta/az/VU/hubut if you forsake Himיַעֲזֹבya/a/ZOVHe will forsakeאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMyou

   And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

   וְיָמִיםve/ya/MIMand daysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyלְיִשְׂרָאֵלLe/yis/ra/ELIsrael has beenלְלֹאle/LOwithoutאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֱמֶתe/METtruthוּלְלֹאu/le/LOand withoutכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestמוֹרֶהmo/REteachingוּלְלֹאu/le/LOand withoutתוֹרָה׃to/RAlaw

   Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

   וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand turnedבַּצַּר־לוֹbats/TSAR-loin his distressעַל־יְהֹוָהal-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְבַקְשֻׁהוּvay/vak/SHU/huand sought Himוַיִּמָּצֵאvay/yim/ma/TSEand He was foundלָהֶם׃la/HEMby them

   But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.

   וּבָעִתִּיםu/va/it/TIMand in the timesהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאֵיןenthere was noשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלַיּוֹצֵאlay/yo/TSEto him who went outוְלַבָּאve/lab/BAor to him who came inכִּיkiforמְהוּמֹתme/hu/MOTtumultsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTgreatעַלaluponכׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיkol-yosh/VEall the inhabitants ofהָאֲרָצוֹת׃ha/a/ra/TSOTthe lands

   And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.

6. 6

   וְכֻתְּתוּve/khut/te/TUand were broken in piecesגוֹי־בְּגוֹיgoy-be/GOYnation by nationוְעִירve/IRand cityבְּעִירbe/IRby cityכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםki-e/lo/HIMfor Godהֲמָמָםha/ma/MAMtroubled themבְּכׇל־צָרָה׃be/KHOL-tsa/RAwith every distress

   And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.

7. 7

   וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youחִזְקוּchiz/KUbe strongוְאַל־יִרְפּוּve/AL-yir/PUand let not be slackיְדֵיכֶםye/de/KHEMyour handsכִּיkiforיֵשׁyeshthere isשָׂכָרsa/KHARa rewardלִפְעֻלַּתְכֶם׃lif/ul/lat/KHEMfor your work

   Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

   וְכִשְׁמֹעַve/khish/MO/aand when heardאָסָאA/SAAsaהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְהַנְּבוּאָהve/han/ne/vu/Aand the prophecy ofעֹדֵדO/DEDOdedהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetהִתְחַזַּקhit/chaz/ZAKhe took courageוַיַּעֲבֵרvay/ya/a/VERand he put awayהַשִּׁקּוּצִיםhash/shik/ku/TSIMthe abominationsמִכׇּל־אֶרֶץmik/KOL-E/retsfrom all the land ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוּבִנְיָמִןu/Vin/ya/MINand Benjaminוּמִן־הֶעָרִיםu/MIN-he/a/RIMand from the citiesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלָכַדla/KHADhe had takenמֵהַרme/HARfrom the hill country ofאֶפְרָיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוַיְחַדֵּשׁvay/chad/DESHand he renewedאֶת־מִזְבַּחet-miz/BACHthe altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאוּלָםu/LAMthe porch ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.

   וַיִּקְבֹּץvay/yik/BOTSand he gatheredאֶת־כׇּל־יְהוּדָהet-Kol-ye/hu/DAall Judahוּבִנְיָמִןu/Vin/ya/MINand Benjaminוְהַגָּרִיםve/hag/ga/RIMand the sojournersעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themמֵאֶפְרַיִםme/Ef/RA/yimout of Ephraimוּמְנַשֶּׁהu/Me/nash/SHEand Manassehוּמִשִּׁמְעוֹןu/Mish/shim/ONand out of Simeonכִּי־נָפְלוּki-na/fe/LUfor had desertedעָלָיוa/LAYVto himמִיִּשְׂרָאֵלmiy/Yis/ra/ELout of Israelלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceבִּרְאֹתָםbir/o/TAMwhen they sawכִּי־יְהֹוָהki-Adonaithat the LORDאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwas with him

   And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

    וַיִּקָּבְצוּvay/yik/ka/ve/TSUso they gatheredיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimat Jerusalemבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהַשְּׁלִשִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthe thirdלִשְׁנַתlish/NATof the year ofחֲמֵשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהcha/MESH-es/REfifteenלְמַלְכוּתle/mal/KHUTof the reign ofאָסָא׃A/SAAsa

    So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

11. 11

    וַיִּזְבְּחוּvay/yiz/be/CHUand they sacrificedלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatמִן־הַשָּׁלָלmin-hash/sha/LALof the spoilהֵבִיאוּhe/VI/uthey had broughtבָּקָרba/KARoxenשְׁבַעshe/VAsevenמֵאוֹתme/OThundredוְצֹאןve/TSONand sheepשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenאֲלָפִים׃a/la/FIMthousand

    And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.

12. 12

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they enteredבַבְּרִיתvab/be/RITinto the covenantלִדְרוֹשׁlid/ROSHto seekאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersבְּכׇל־לְבָבָםbe/KHOL-le/va/VAMwith all their heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשָׁם׃u/ve/KHOL-naf/SHAMand with all their soul

    And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

13. 13

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יִדְרֹשׁlo-yid/ROSHwould not seekלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלe/lo/HE-Yis/ra/ELthe God of Israelיוּמָתyu/MATshould be put to deathלְמִן־קָטֹןle/MIN-ka/TONwhether smallוְעַד־גָּדוֹלve/AD-ga/DOLor greatלְמֵאִישׁle/me/ISHwhether manוְעַד־אִשָּׁה׃ve/AD-ish/SHAor woman

    That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

14. 14

    וַיִּשָּׁבְעוּvay/yish/sha/ve/Uand they sworeלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוּבִתְרוּעָהu/vit/ru/Aand with shoutingוּבַחֲצֹצְרוֹתu/va/cha/tsots/ROTand with trumpetsוּבְשׁוֹפָרוֹת׃u/ve/sho/fa/ROTand with horns

    And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

15. 15

    וַיִּשְׂמְחוּvay/yis/me/CHUand rejoicedכׇל־יְהוּדָהkhol-Ye/hu/DAall Judahעַל־הַשְּׁבוּעָהal-hash/she/vu/Aat the oathכִּיkiforבְכׇל־לְבָבָםve/KHOL-le/va/VAMwith all their heartנִשְׁבָּעוּnish/BA/uthey sworeוּבְכׇל־רְצוֹנָםu/ve/KHOL-re/tso/NAMand with all their desireבִּקְשֻׁהוּbik/SHU/huthey sought Himוַיִּמָּצֵאvay/yim/ma/TSEand He was foundלָהֶםla/HEMby themוַיָּנַחvay/YA/nachand gave restיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָהֶםla/HEMto themמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVon every side

    And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.

16. 16

    וְגַם־מַעֲכָהve/GAM-ma/a/KHAand also Maachahאֵםemthe mother ofאָסָאA/SAAsaהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהֱסִירָהּhe/si/RAhe removedמִגְּבִירָהmig/ge/vi/RAfrom being queen motherאֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָהa/SHER-a/se/TAbecause she had madeלָאֲשֵׁרָהla/A/she/RAfor the Asherahמִפְלָצֶתmif/LA/tsetan abominable imageוַיִּכְרֹתvay/yikh/ROTand cut downאָסָאA/SAAsaאֶת־מִפְלַצְתָּהּet-mif/lats/TAher abominable imageוַיָּדֶקvay/YA/dekand crushed itוַיִּשְׂרֹףvay/yis/ROFand burned itבְּנַחַלbe/NA/chalat the brook ofקִדְרוֹן׃Kid/RONKidron

    And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.

17. 17

    וְהַבָּמוֹתve/hab/ba/MOTand the high placesלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruwere not removedמִיִּשְׂרָאֵלmiy/Yis/ra/ELfrom Israelרַקrakbutלְבַב־אָסָאle/VAV-a/SAthe heart of Asaהָיָהha/YAwasשָׁלֵםsha/LEMwholeכׇּל־יָמָיו׃kol-ya/MAYVall his days

    But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

18. 18

    וַיָּבֵאvay/ya/VEand he brought inאֶת־קׇדְשֵׁיet-kod/SHEthe dedicated things ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוְקׇדָשָׁיוve/ko/da/SHAYVand his dedicated thingsבֵּיתbetinto the house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldוְכֵלִים׃ve/khe/LIMand vessels

    And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

19. 19

    וּמִלְחָמָהu/mil/cha/MAand warלֹאlonotהָיָתָהha/YA/tathere wasעַדaduntilשְׁנַת־שְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/NAT-she/lo/SHIMthe year of thirtyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveלְמַלְכוּתle/mal/KHUTof the reign ofאָסָא׃A/SAAsa

    And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
