   And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

   אֵין־קָדוֹשׁen-ka/DOSHthere is none holyכַּיהֹוָהke-Adonailike the LORDכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noneבִּלְתֶּךָbil/TE/khabeside Youוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noצוּרtsurrockכֵּאלֹהֵינוּ׃ke/lo/HE/nulike our God

   There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

   אַל־תַּרְבּוּal-tar/BUdo not multiplyתְדַבְּרוּte/dab/be/RUspeakגְּבֹהָהge/vo/HAproudlyגְבֹהָהge/vo/HAproudlyיֵצֵאye/TSElet comeעָתָקa/TAKarroganceמִפִּיכֶםmip/pi/KHEMout of your mouthכִּיkiforאֵלela Godדֵּעוֹתde/OTof knowledgeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORD(ולא)val[וְלוֹ]ve/LOand by Himנִתְכְּנוּnit/ke/NUare weighedעֲלִלוֹת׃a/li/LOTdeeds

   Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

   קֶשֶׁתKE/shetthe bow ofגִּבֹּרִיםgib/bo/RIMthe mightyחַתִּיםchat/TIMare brokenוְנִכְשָׁלִיםve/nikh/sha/LIMand those who stumbledאָזְרוּAZ/ruare girded withחָיִל׃CHA/yilstrength

   The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

   שְׂבֵעִיםse/ve/IMthose who were fullבַּלֶּחֶםbal/LE/chemwith breadנִשְׂכָּרוּnis/KA/ruhave hired themselves outוּרְעֵבִיםu/re/e/VIMand those who were hungryחָדֵלּוּcha/DEL/luhave ceasedעַד־עֲקָרָהad-a/ka/RAso that the barrenיָלְדָהya/le/DAhas borneשִׁבְעָהshiv/Asevenוְרַבַּתve/rab/BATand she who has manyבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsאֻמְלָלָה׃um/LA/lalanguishes

   They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמֵמִיתme/MITkillsוּמְחַיֶּהu/me/chay/YEand gives lifeמוֹרִידmo/RIDbrings down toשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolוַיָּעַל׃vay/YA/aland brings up

   The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמוֹרִישׁmo/RISHmakes poorוּמַעֲשִׁירu/ma/a/SHIRand makes richמַשְׁפִּילmash/PILbrings lowאַף־מְרוֹמֵם׃af-me/ro/MEMalso lifts up

   The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

   מֵקִיםme/KIMraises upמֵעָפָרme/a/FARfrom the dustדָּלdalthe poorמֵאַשְׁפֹּתme/ash/POTfrom the dunghillיָרִיםya/RIMlifts upאֶבְיוֹןev/YONthe needyלְהוֹשִׁיבle/ho/SHIVto make them sitעִם־נְדִיבִיםim-ne/di/VIMwith princesוְכִסֵּאve/khis/SEand a throne ofכָבוֹדkha/VODgloryיַנְחִלֵםyan/chi/LEMmakes them inheritכִּיkiforלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORD’s areמְצֻקֵיme/TSU/kethe pillars ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthוַיָּשֶׁתvay/YA/shetand He has setעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themתֵּבֵל׃te/VELthe world

   He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.

   רַגְלֵיrag/LEthe feet ofחֲסִידָוcha/si/DAVHis godly onesיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORHe will keepוּרְשָׁעִיםu/re/sha/IMand the wickedבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessיִדָּמּוּyid/DAM/mushall be silentכִּי־לֹאki-lofor notבְכֹחַve/KHO/achby strengthיִגְבַּר־אִישׁ׃yig/BAR-ishshall a man prevail

   He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיֵחַתּוּye/CHAT/tushall be broken to piecesמְרִיבָוme/ri/VAVHis adversariesעָלָוa/LAVagainst themבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenיַרְעֵםyar/EMHe will thunderיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיָדִיןya/DINwill judgeאַפְסֵי־אָרֶץaf/SE-A/retsthe ends of the earthוְיִתֶּן־עֹזve/yit/TEN-ozand He will give strengthלְמַלְכּוֹle/mal/KOto His kingוְיָרֵםve/ya/REMand exaltקֶרֶןKE/renthe horn ofמְשִׁיחוֹ׃me/shi/CHOHis anointed

    The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

    And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEnow the sons ofעֵלִיE/LIEliבְּנֵיbe/NEwere sons ofבְלִיָּעַלve/liy/YA/alworthlessnessלֹאlonotיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knewאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

13. 13

    וּמִשְׁפַּטu/mish/PATand the custom ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMwith the peopleכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishwhen any manזֹבֵחַzo/VE/achofferedזֶבַחZE/vacha sacrificeוּבָאu/VAcameנַעַרNA/arthe servant ofהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestכְּבַשֵּׁלke/vash/SHELwhile was boilingהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe meatוְהַמַּזְלֵגve/ham/maz/LEGwith a fork ofשְׁלֹשׁshe/LOSHthreeהַשִּׁנַּיִםhash/shin/NA/yimteethבְּיָדוֹ׃be/ya/DOin his hand

    And the priests' custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

    וְהִכָּהve/hik/KAand he thrust itבַכִּיּוֹרvak/kiy/YORinto the panאוֹoorבַדּוּדvad/DUDin the kettleאוֹoorבַקַּלַּחַתvak/kal/LA/chatin the caldronאוֹoorבַפָּרוּרvap/pa/RURin the potכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEbrought upהַמַּזְלֵגham/maz/LEGthe forkיִקַּחyik/KACHtookהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestבּוֹbofor himselfכָּכָהKA/khasoיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUthey didלְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלle/KHOL-yis/ra/ELto all Israelהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMwho cameשָׁםshamthereבְּשִׁלֹה׃be/Shi/LOin Shiloh

    And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.

    גַּםgamalsoבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיַקְטִרוּןyak/ti/RUNthey burnedאֶת־הַחֵלֶבet-ha/CHE/levthe fatוּבָאu/VAand cameנַעַרNA/arthe servant ofהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוְאָמַרve/a/MARand saidלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manהַזֹּבֵחַhaz/zo/VE/achwho sacrificedתְּנָהte/NAgiveבָשָׂרva/SARmeatלִצְלוֹתlits/LOTto roastלַכֹּהֵןlak/ko/HENfor the priestוְלֹא־יִקַּחve/LO-yik/KACHfor he will not takeמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youבָּשָׂרba/SARmeatמְבֻשָּׁלme/vush/SHALboiledכִּיkibutאִם־חָי׃im-chayonly raw

    Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manקַטֵּרkat/TERburnיַקְטִירוּןyak/ti/RUNlet them burnכַּיּוֹםkay/YOMfirstהַחֵלֶבha/CHE/levthe fatוְקַח־לְךָve/KACH-le/KHAand then take for yourselfכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERas much asתְּאַוֶּהte/av/VEdesiresנַפְשֶׁךָnaf/SHE/khayour soulוְאָמַרve/a/MARthen he would say[לֹא]lono(לו)lavכִּיkibutעַתָּהat/TAnowתִתֵּןtit/TENyou shall give itוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notלָקַחְתִּיla/KACH/tiI will take itבְחׇזְקָה׃ve/choz/KAby force

    And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

    וַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand wasחַטַּאתchat/TATthe sin ofהַנְּעָרִיםhan/ne/a/RIMthe ladsגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatמְאֹדme/ODveryאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכִּיkiforנִאֲצוּni/a/TSUspurnedהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֵת־מִנְחַתet-min/CHATthe offering ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

18. 18

    וּשְׁמוּאֵלu/She/mu/ELand Samuelמְשָׁרֵתme/sha/RETministeredאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנַעַרNA/ara childחָגוּרcha/GURgirded withאֵפוֹדe/FODan ephod ofבָּד׃badlinen

    But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

19. 19

    וּמְעִילu/me/ILand a robeקָטֹןka/TONlittleתַּעֲשֶׂה־לּוֹta/a/SE-lomade for himאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherוְהַעַלְתָהve/ha/al/TAand brought itלוֹloto himמִיָּמִיםmiy/ya/MIMfrom yearיָמִימָהya/MI/mato yearבַּעֲלוֹתָהּba/a/lo/TAwhen she came upאֶת־אִישָׁהּet-i/SHAwith her husbandלִזְבֹּחַliz/BO/achto offerאֶת־זֶבַחet-ZE/vachthe sacrifice ofהַיָּמִים׃hay/ya/MIMthe year

    Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

    וּבֵרַךְu/ve/RAKHand blessedעֵלִיE/LIEliאֶת־אֶלְקָנָהet-El/ka/NAElkanahוְאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹve/ET-ish/TOand his wifeוְאָמַרve/a/MARand saidיָשֵׂםya/SEMmay giveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְךָle/KHAyouזֶרַעZE/raseedמִן־הָאִשָּׁהmin-ha/ish/SHAof the womanהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתַּחַתTA/chatforהַשְּׁאֵלָהhash/she/e/LAthe loanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׁאַלsha/ALhe lentלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוְהָלְכוּve/ha/le/KHUand they wentלִמְקוֹמוֹ׃lim/ko/MOto their own place

    And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.

21. 21

    כִּי־פָקַדki-fa/KADfor visitedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־חַנָּהet-Chan/NAHannahוַתַּהַרvat/TA/harand she conceivedוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreשְׁלֹשָׁה־בָנִיםshe/lo/SHA-va/NIMthree sonsוּשְׁתֵּיush/TEand twoבָנוֹתva/NOTdaughtersוַיִּגְדַּלvay/yig/DALand grewהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe childשְׁמוּאֵלShe/mu/ELSamuelעִם־יְהֹוָה׃im-Adonaibefore the LORD

    And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

22. 22

    וְעֵלִיve/E/LIand Eliזָקֵןza/KENwas oldמְאֹדme/ODveryוְשָׁמַעve/sha/MAand he heardאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatיַעֲשׂוּןya/a/SUNwere doingבָּנָיוba/NAYVhis sonsלְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלle/KHOL-yis/ra/ELto all Israelוְאֵתve/ETandאֲשֶׁר־יִשְׁכְּבוּןa/SHER-yish/ke/VUNhow they lay withאֶת־הַנָּשִׁיםet-han/na/SHIMthe womenהַצֹּבְאוֹתhats/tsov/OTwho served atפֶּתַחPE/tachthe door ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵד׃mo/EDmeeting

    Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתַעֲשׂוּןta/a/SUNdo you doכַּדְּבָרִיםkad/de/va/RIMsuch thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERforאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahearאֶת־דִּבְרֵיכֶםet-div/re/KHEMof your doingsרָעִיםra/IMevilמֵאֵתme/ETfromכׇּל־הָעָםkol-ha/AMall the peopleאֵלֶּה׃EL/lethese

    And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.

24. 24

    אַלalnoבָּנָיba/NAYmy sonsכִּיkiforלוֹא־טוֹבָהlo-to/VAit is no goodהַשְּׁמֻעָהhash/she/mu/Areportאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahearמַעֲבִרִיםma/a/vi/RIMyou make to transgressעַם־יְהֹוָה׃am-Adonaithe LORD's people

    Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD's people to transgress.

25. 25

    אִם־יֶחֱטָאim-ye/che/TAif sinsאִישׁisha manלְאִישׁle/ISHagainst anotherוּפִלְלוֹu/fil/LOshall judge himאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMthe judgeוְאִםve/IMbut ifלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiagainst the LORDיֶחֱטָא־אִישׁye/che/TA-isha man sinsמִיmiwhoיִתְפַּלֶּל־לוֹyit/pal/LEL-loshall entreat for himוְלֹאve/LObut notיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey hearkenedלְקוֹלle/KOLto the voice ofאֲבִיהֶםa/vi/HEMtheir fatherכִּי־חָפֵץki-cha/FETSfor desiredיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַהֲמִיתָם׃la/ha/mi/TAMto slay them

    If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

26. 26

    וְהַנַּעַרve/han/NA/arand the childשְׁמוּאֵלShe/mu/ELSamuelהֹלֵךְho/LEKHwent onוְגָדֵלve/ga/DELand grewוָטוֹבva/TOVand in favorגַּםgamalsoעִם־יְהֹוָהim-Adonaiwith the LORDוְגַםve/GAMand alsoעִם־אֲנָשִׁים׃im-a/na/SHIMwith men

    And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.

27. 27

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameאִישׁ־אֱלֹהִיםish-e/lo/HIMa man of Godאֶל־עֵלִיel-E/LIto Eliוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהֲנִגְלֹהha/nig/LOrevealנִגְלֵיתִיnig/LE/tidid I reveal Myselfאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherבִּהְיוֹתָםbih/yo/TAMwhen they wereבְּמִצְרַיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptלְבֵיתle/VETin the house ofפַּרְעֹה׃Par/OPharaoh

    And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?

    וּבָחֹרu/va/CHORand did I chooseאֹתוֹo/TOhimמִכׇּל־שִׁבְטֵיmik/KOL-shiv/TEout of all the tribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלִיlifor Myselfלְכֹהֵןle/kho/HENto be a priestלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTto offerעַל־מִזְבְּחִיal-miz/be/CHIupon My altarלְהַקְטִירle/hak/TIRto burnקְטֹרֶתke/TO/retincenseלָשֵׂאתla/SETto wearאֵפוֹדe/FODan ephodלְפָנָיle/fa/NAYbefore Meוָאֶתְּנָהva/et/te/NAand did I giveלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherאֶת־כׇּל־אִשֵּׁיet-kol-ish/SHEall the offerings made by fire ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?

    לָמָּהLAM/mawhyתִבְעֲטוּtiv/a/TUkickבְּזִבְחִיbe/ziv/CHIat My sacrificeוּבְמִנְחָתִיu/ve/min/cha/TIand at My offeringאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוִּיתִיtsiv/VI/tiI have commandedמָעוֹןma/ONin My habitationוַתְּכַבֵּדvat/te/khab/BEDand honorאֶת־בָּנֶיךָet-ba/NE/khayour sonsמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/niabove Meלְהַבְרִיאֲכֶםle/hav/ri/a/KHEMto make yourselves fatמֵרֵאשִׁיתme/re/SHITwith the best ofכׇּל־מִנְחַתkol-min/CHATall the offerings ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְעַמִּי׃le/am/MIof My people

    Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

30. 30

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאָמוֹרa/MORsayאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidבֵּיתְךָbe/te/KHAyour houseוּבֵיתu/VETand the house ofאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherיִתְהַלְּכוּyit/hal/le/KHUshould walkלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore Meעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDחָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itלִּיlifrom Meכִּי־מְכַבְּדַיki-me/khab/be/DAYfor those who honor Meאֲכַבֵּדa/khab/BEDI will honorוּבֹזַיu/vo/ZAYand those who despise Meיֵקָלּוּ׃ye/KAL/lushall be lightly esteemed

    Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיָמִיםya/MIMdaysבָּאִיםba/IMare comingוְגָדַעְתִּיve/ga/da/TIwhen I will cut offאֶת־זְרֹעֲךָet-ze/ro/a/KHAyour armוְאֶת־זְרֹעַve/ET-ze/RO/aand the arm ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherמִהְיוֹתmih/YOTthat there shall not beזָקֵןza/KENan old manבְּבֵיתֶךָ׃be/ve/TE/khain your house

    Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.

32. 32

    וְהִבַּטְתָּve/hib/bat/TAand you shall seeצַרtsarthe distress ofמָעוֹןma/ONthe habitationבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin allאֲשֶׁר־יֵיטִיבa/SHER-ye/TIVthat He shall do good toאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelוְלֹא־יִהְיֶהve/LO-yih/YEand there shall not beזָקֵןza/KENan old manבְּבֵיתְךָbe/ve/te/KHAin your houseכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMall the days

    And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.

33. 33

    וְאִישׁve/ISHyet any manלֹא־אַכְרִיתlo-akh/RITI do not cut offלְךָle/KHAof yoursמֵעִםme/IMfromמִזְבְּחִיmiz/be/CHIMy altarלְכַלּוֹתle/khal/LOTshall be to consumeאֶת־עֵינֶיךָet-e/NE/khayour eyesוְלַאֲדִיבve/la/a/DIVand to grieveאֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָet-naf/SHE/khayour soulוְכׇל־מַרְבִּיתve/KHOL-mar/BITand all the increase ofבֵּיתְךָbe/te/KHAyour houseיָמוּתוּya/MU/tushall dieאֲנָשִׁים׃a/na/SHIMas men

    And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.

34. 34

    וְזֶה־לְּךָve/ZE-le/KHAand this shall be to youהָאוֹתha/OTthe signאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָבֹאya/VOshall come uponאֶל־שְׁנֵיel-she/NEupon twoבָנֶיךָva/NE/khayour sonsאֶל־חׇפְנִיel-Chof/NIon Hophniוּפִינְחָסu/Fi/ne/CHASand Phinehasבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin dayאֶחָדe/CHADoneיָמוּתוּya/MU/tushall dieשְׁנֵיהֶם׃she/ne/HEMboth of them

    And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

35. 35

    וַהֲקִימֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will raise upלִיlifor Myselfכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwho according to whatבִּלְבָבִיbil/va/VIis in My heartוּבְנַפְשִׁיu/ve/naf/SHIand in My mindיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEshall doוּבָנִיתִיu/va/NI/tiand I will buildלוֹlofor himבַּיִתBA/yita houseנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANsureוְהִתְהַלֵּךְve/hit/hal/LEKHand he shall walkלִפְנֵי־מְשִׁיחִיlif/NE-me/shi/CHIbefore My anointedכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMall the days

    And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

36. 36

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכׇּל־הַנּוֹתָרkol-han/no/TARthat everyone who is leftבְּבֵיתְךָbe/ve/te/KHAin your houseיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTto bow downלוֹloto himלַאֲגוֹרַתla/a/GO/ratfor a piece ofכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverוְכִכַּר־לָחֶםve/khik/KAR-LA/chemand a loaf of breadוְאָמַרve/a/MARand shall sayסְפָחֵנִיse/fa/CHE/niattach meנָאnaI prayאֶל־אַחַתel-a/CHATinto one ofהַכְּהֻנּוֹתhak/ke/hun/NOTthe priestly officesלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLthat I may eatפַּת־לָחֶם׃pat-LA/chema morsel of bread

    And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
