   And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

   And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

   And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

   And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

   וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtעַל־קִירal-kiragainst the wall ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe house(יצוע)yatsav[יָצִיעַ]ya/TSI/aa side structureסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutאֶת־קִירוֹתet-ki/ROTthe walls ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutלַהֵיכָלla/he/KHALof the templeוְלַדְּבִירve/lad/de/VIRand of the inner sanctuaryוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeצְלָעוֹתtse/la/OTside roomsסָבִיב׃sa/VIVround about

   And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

   The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

   וְהַבַּיִתve/hab/BA/yitand the houseבְּהִבָּנֹתוֹbe/hib/ba/no/TOwhen it was being builtאֶבֶן־שְׁלֵמָהE/ven-she/le/MAwhole stoneמַסָּעmas/SAfrom the quarryנִבְנָהniv/NAwas builtוּמַקָּבוֹתu/mak/ka/VOTand hammersוְהַגַּרְזֶןve/hag/gar/ZENand the axeכׇּל־כְּלִיkol-ke/LIany tool ofבַרְזֶלvar/ZELironלֹא־נִשְׁמַעlo-nish/MAwas not heardבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseבְּהִבָּנֹתוֹ׃be/hib/ba/no/TOwhen it was being built

   And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

   The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

   וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseוַיְכַלֵּהוּvay/khal/LE/huand he finished itוַיִּסְפֹּןvay/yis/PONand he roofedאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseגֵּבִיםge/VIMbeamsוּשְׂדֵרֹתu/se/de/ROTand planksבָּאֲרָזִים׃ba/a/ra/ZIMwith cedar

   So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־[הַיָּצִיעַ]et-hay/ya/TSI/athe side structureעַל־כׇּל־הַבַּיִתal-kol-hab/BA/yitagainst all the houseחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsקוֹמָתוֹko/ma/TOits heightוַיֶּאֱחֹזvay/ye/e/CHOZand it heldאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseבַּעֲצֵיba/a/TSEwith timbers ofאֲרָזִים׃a/ra/ZIMcedar

    And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

11. 11

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand cameדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDאֶל־שְׁלֹמֹהel-She/lo/MOto Solomonלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

12. 12

    הַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁר־אַתָּהa/SHER-at/TAwhich youבֹנֶהvo/NEare buildingאִם־תֵּלֵךְim-te/LEKHif you walkבְּחֻקֹּתַיbe/chuk/ko/TAYin My statutesוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand My judgmentsתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEdoוְשָׁמַרְתָּve/sha/mar/TAand keepאֶת־כׇּל־מִצְוֺתַיet-kol-mits/vo/TAYall My commandmentsלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבָּהֶםba/HEMin themוַהֲקִמֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will establishאֶת־דְּבָרִיet-de/va/RIMy wordאִתָּךְit/TAKHwith youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have spokenאֶל־דָּוִדel-Da/VIDto Davidאָבִיךָ׃a/VI/khayour father

    Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

13. 13

    וְשָׁכַנְתִּיve/sha/khan/TIand I will dwellבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶעֱזֹבe/e/ZOVI will forsakeאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MIMy peopleיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14. 14

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseוַיְכַלֵּהוּ׃vay/khal/LE/huand he finished it

    So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

15. 15

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־קִירוֹתet-ki/ROTthe walls ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseמִבַּיְתָהmib/BAY/tainsideבְּצַלְעוֹתbe/tsal/OTwith boards ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarמִקַּרְקַעmik/kar/KAfrom the floor ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseעַד־קִירוֹתad-ki/ROTto the walls ofהַסִּפֻּןhas/sip/PUNthe ceilingצִפָּהtsip/PAhe overlaidעֵץetswith woodמִבָּיִתmib/BA/yitinsideוַיְצַףvay/TSAFand he overlaidאֶת־קַרְקַעet-kar/KAthe floor ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseבְּצַלְעוֹתbe/tsal/OTwith boards ofבְּרוֹשִׁים׃be/ro/SHIMcypress

    And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

16. 16

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־עֶשְׂרִיםet-es/RIMtwentyאַמָּהam/MAcubits[מִיַּרְכְּתֵי]miy/yar/ke/TEfrom the rear ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseבְּצַלְעוֹתbe/tsal/OTwith boards ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarמִן־הַקַּרְקַעmin-hak/kar/KAfrom the floorעַד־הַקִּירוֹתad-hak/ki/ROTto the wallsוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtלוֹlofor itמִבַּיִתmib/BA/yitinsideלִדְבִירlid/VIRas an inner sanctuaryלְקֹדֶשׁle/KO/deshas the holy ofהַקֳּדָשִׁים׃hak/ko/da/SHIMholies

    And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

17. 17

    וְאַרְבָּעִיםve/ar/ba/IMand fortyבָּאַמָּהba/am/MAby the cubitהָיָהha/YAwasהַבָּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהוּאhuthat isהַהֵיכָלha/he/KHALthe templeלִפְנָי׃lif/NAYin front

    And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

18. 18

    וְאֶרֶזve/E/rezand cedarאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yiton the houseפְּנִימָהpe/NI/mawithinמִקְלַעַתmik/LA/atcarved withפְּקָעִיםpe/ka/IMgourdsוּפְטוּרֵיu/fe/tu/REand openצִצִּיםtsits/TSIMflowersהַכֹּלhak/KOLall wasאֶרֶזE/rezcedarאֵיןenthere is noאֶבֶןE/venstoneנִרְאָה׃nir/Awas seen

    And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

19. 19

    וּדְבִירu/de/VIRand the inner sanctuaryבְּתוֹךְ־הַבַּיִתbe/TOKH-hab/BA/yitin the midst of the houseמִפְּנִימָהmip/pe/NI/mawithinהֵכִיןhe/KHINhe preparedלְתִתֵּןle/tit/TENto setשָׁםshamthereאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofבְּרִיתbe/RITthe covenant ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

20. 20

    וְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand the front ofהַדְּבִירhad/de/VIRthe inner sanctuaryעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyאַמָּהam/MAcubitsאֹרֶךְO/rekhlongוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyאַמָּהam/MAcubitsרֹחַבRO/chavwideוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyאַמָּהam/MAcubitsקוֹמָתוֹko/ma/TOits heightוַיְצַפֵּהוּvay/tsap/PE/huand he overlaid itזָהָבza/HAVgoldסָגוּרsa/GURrefinedוַיְצַףvay/TSAFand he overlaidמִזְבֵּחַmiz/BE/achan altar ofאָרֶז׃A/rezcedar

    And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

21. 21

    וַיְצַףvay/TSAFand overlaidשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseמִפְּנִימָהmip/pe/NI/mawithinזָהָבza/HAVgoldסָגוּרsa/GURrefinedוַיְעַבֵּרvay/ab/BERand he drew across[בְּרַתּוּקוֹת]be/rat/tu/KOTchains ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַדְּבִירhad/de/VIRthe inner sanctuaryוַיְצַפֵּהוּvay/tsap/PE/huand he overlaid itזָהָב׃za/HAVgold

    So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

22. 22

    וְאֶת־כׇּל־הַבַּיִתve/ET-kol-hab/BA/yitand all the houseצִפָּהtsip/PAhe overlaidזָהָבza/HAVgoldעַד־תֹּםad-tomuntil were finishedכׇּל־הַבָּיִתkol-hab/BA/yitall the houseוְכׇל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַve/KHOL-ham/miz/BE/achand all the altarאֲשֶׁר־לַדְּבִירa/SHER-lad/de/VIRthat belonged to the inner sanctuaryצִפָּהtsip/PAhe overlaidזָהָב׃za/HAVgold

    And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeבַּדְּבִירbad/de/VIRin the inner sanctuaryשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoכְרוּבִיםkhe/ru/VIMcherubimעֲצֵי־שָׁמֶןa/TSE-SHA/menof olive woodעֶשֶׂרE/sertenאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsקוֹמָתוֹ׃ko/ma/TOits height

    And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

24. 24

    וְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsכְּנַףke/NAFthe wing ofהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהָאֶחָתha/e/CHATthe oneוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsכְּנַףke/NAFthe wing ofהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהַשֵּׁנִיתhash/she/NITthe otherעֶשֶׂרE/sertenאַמּוֹתam/MOTcubitsמִקְצוֹתmik/TSOTfrom the ends ofכְּנָפָיוke/na/FAYVits wingsוְעַד־קְצוֹתve/AD-ke/TSOTand to the ends ofכְּנָפָיו׃ke/na/FAYVits wings

    And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

25. 25

    וְעֶשֶׂרve/E/serand tenבָּאַמָּהba/am/MAby the cubitהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe otherמִדָּהmid/DAmeasureאַחַתa/CHAToneוְקֶצֶבve/KE/tsevand formאֶחָדe/CHADoneלִשְׁנֵיlish/NEfor the twoהַכְּרֻבִים׃hak/ke/ru/VIMthe cherubim

    And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.

26. 26

    קוֹמַתko/MATthe height ofהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהָאֶחָד־עֶשֶׂרha/e/CHAD-E/serthe one tenבָּאַמָּהba/am/MAby the cubitוְכֵןve/KHENand soהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהַשֵּׁנִי׃hash/she/NIthe other

    The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand he setאֶת־הַכְּרוּבִיםet-hak/ke/ru/VIMthe cherubimבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַפְּנִימִיhap/pe/ni/MIthe innerוַיִּפְרְשׂוּvay/yif/re/SUand they spreadאֶת־כַּנְפֵיet-kan/FEthe wings ofהַכְּרֻבִיםhak/ke/ru/VIMthe cherubimוַתִּגַּעvat/tig/GAand touchedכְּנַף־הָאֶחָדke/NAF-ha/e/CHADthe wing of the oneבַּקִּירbak/KIRthe wallוּכְנַףu/khe/NAFand the wing ofהַכְּרוּבhak/ke/RUVthe cherubהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe otherנֹגַעַתno/GA/attouchedבַּקִּירbak/KIRthe wallהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIotherוְכַנְפֵיהֶםve/khan/fe/HEMand their wingsאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhtoward the middle ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseנֹגְעֹתnog/OTtouchingכָּנָףka/NAFwingאֶל־כָּנָף׃el-ka/NAFto the wing

    And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

    וַיְצַףvay/TSAFand he overlaidאֶת־הַכְּרוּבִיםet-hak/ke/ru/VIMthe cherubimזָהָב׃za/HAVgold

    And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

29. 29

    וְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־קִירוֹתkol-ki/ROTall the walls ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseמֵסַבme/SAVround aboutקָלַעka/LAhe carvedפִּתּוּחֵיpit/tu/CHEengravedמִקְלְעוֹתmik/le/OTcarvings ofכְּרוּבִיםke/ru/VIMcherubimוְתִמֹרֹתve/ti/mo/ROTand palm treesוּפְטוּרֵיu/fe/tu/REand openצִצִּיםtsits/TSIMflowersמִלִּפְנִיםmil/lif/NIMinsideוְלַחִיצוֹן׃ve/la/chi/TSONand outside

    And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

30. 30

    וְאֶת־קַרְקַעve/ET-kar/KAand the floor ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseצִפָּהtsip/PAhe overlaidזָהָבza/HAVgoldלִפְנִימָהlif/NI/mainsideוְלַחִיצוֹן׃ve/la/chi/TSONand outside

    And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31. 31

    וְאֵתve/ETandפֶּתַחPE/tachfor the entrance ofהַדְּבִירhad/de/VIRthe inner sanctuaryעָשָׂהa/SAhe madeדַּלְתוֹתdal/TOTdoors ofעֲצֵי־שָׁמֶןa/TSE-SHA/menolive woodהָאַיִלha/A/yilthe lintelמְזוּזוֹתme/zu/ZOTthe doorpostsחֲמִשִׁית׃cha/mi/SHITfive-sided

    And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

    וּשְׁתֵּיush/TEand the twoדַּלְתוֹתdal/TOTdoors ofעֲצֵי־שֶׁמֶןa/TSE-SHE/menolive woodוְקָלַעve/ka/LAand he carvedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themמִקְלְעוֹתmik/le/OTcarvings ofכְּרוּבִיםke/ru/VIMcherubimוְתִמֹרֹתve/ti/mo/ROTand palm treesוּפְטוּרֵיu/fe/tu/REand openצִצִּיםtsits/TSIMflowersוְצִפָּהve/tsip/PAand he overlaidזָהָבza/HAVgoldוַיָּרֶדvay/YA/redand he spreadעַל־הַכְּרוּבִיםal-hak/ke/ru/VIMupon the cherubimוְעַל־הַתִּמֹרוֹתve/AL-hat/ti/mo/ROTand upon the palm treesאֶת־הַזָּהָב׃et-haz/za/HAVthe gold

    The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soעָשָׂהa/SAhe madeלְפֶתַחle/FE/tachfor the entrance ofהַהֵיכָלha/he/KHALthe templeמְזוּזוֹתme/zu/ZOTdoorposts ofעֲצֵי־שָׁמֶןa/TSE-SHA/menolive woodמֵאֵתme/ETfromרְבִעִית׃re/vi/ITfour-sided

    So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

    וּשְׁתֵּיush/TEand twoדַלְתוֹתdal/TOTdoors ofעֲצֵיa/TSEwood ofבְרוֹשִׁיםve/ro/SHIMcypressשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoצְלָעִיםtse/la/IMleaves ofהַדֶּלֶתhad/DE/letthe doorהָאַחַתha/a/CHATthe oneגְּלִילִיםge/li/LIMfoldingוּשְׁנֵיu/she/NEand the twoקְלָעִיםke/la/IMleaves ofהַדֶּלֶתhad/DE/letthe doorהַשֵּׁנִיתhash/she/NITotherגְּלִילִים׃ge/li/LIMfolding

    And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

    וְקָלַעve/ka/LAand he carvedכְּרוּבִיםke/ru/VIMcherubimוְתִמֹרוֹתve/ti/mo/ROTand palm treesוּפְטֻרֵיu/fe/tu/REand openצִצִּיםtsits/TSIMflowersוְצִפָּהve/tsip/PAand he overlaidזָהָבza/HAVgoldמְיֻשָּׁרme/yush/SHARfittedעַל־הַמְּחֻקֶּה׃al-ham/me/chuk/KEupon the carving

    And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

36. 36

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand he builtאֶת־הֶחָצֵרet-he/cha/TSERthe courtהַפְּנִימִיתhap/pe/ni/MITthe innerשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeטוּרֵיTU/rerows ofגָזִיתga/ZIThewn stoneוְטוּרve/TURand a row ofכְּרֻתֹתke/ru/TOTbeams ofאֲרָזִים׃a/ra/ZIMcedar

    And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

37. 37

    בַּשָּׁנָהbash/sha/NAin the yearהָרְבִיעִיתha/re/vi/ITthe fourthיֻסַּדyus/SADit was foundedבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיֶרַחbe/YE/rachin the month ofזִו׃ZivZiv

    In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

38. 38

    וּבַשָּׁנָהu/vash/sha/NAand in the yearהָאַחַת־עֶשְׂרֵהha/a/CHAT-es/REthe eleventhבְּיֶרַחbe/YE/rachin the month ofבּוּלBulBulהוּאhuthat isהַחֹדֶשׁha/CHO/deshthe monthהַשְּׁמִינִיhash/she/mi/NIthe eighthכָּלָהka/LAit was finishedהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseלְכׇל־דְּבָרָיוle/KHOL-de/va/RAYVin all its partsוּלְכׇל־מִשְׁפָּטָוu/le/KHOL-mish/pa/TAVand according to all its fashionוַיִּבְנֵהוּvay/yiv/NE/huand he built itשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִים׃sha/NIMyears

    And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
