   And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַּשָּׁנָהbash/sha/NAin the yearהַשְּׁלִישִׁיתhash/she/li/SHITthe thirdוַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redthat went downיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.

   And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?

   And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

   And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

   וַיִּקְבֹּץvay/yik/BOTSand he gatheredמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelאֶת־הַנְּבִיאִיםet-han/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsכְּאַרְבַּעke/ar/BAabout fourמֵאוֹתme/OThundredאִישׁishmenוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themהַאֵלֵךְha/e/LEKHshall I goעַל־רָמֹתal-Ra/MOTagainst Ramoth-גִּלְעָדgil/ADgileadלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAto battleאִם־אֶחְדָּלim-ech/DALor shall I refrainוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidעֲלֵהa/LEgo upוְיִתֵּןve/yit/TENfor will give itאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

   Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

   And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelאֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָטel-Ye/ho/sha/FATto Jehoshaphatעוֹדodthere is stillאִישׁ־אֶחָדish-e/CHADone manלִדְרֹשׁlid/ROSHto inquire ofאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDמֵאֹתוֹme/o/TOthrough himוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iשְׂנֵאתִיוse/ne/TIVI hate himכִּיkibecauseלֹא־יִתְנַבֵּאlo-yit/nab/BEhe does not prophesyעָלַיa/LAYconcerning meטוֹבtovgoodכִּיkibutאִם־רָעim-raonly evilמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahבֶּן־יִמְלָהben-Yim/LAthe son of Imlahוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatאַל־יֹאמַרal-yo/MARlet not sayהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingכֵּן׃kenso

   And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

   Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.

    וּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוִיהוֹשָׁפָטVi/ho/sha/FATand Jehoshaphatמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMwere sittingאִישׁishevery manעַל־כִּסְאוֹal-kis/Oon his throneמְלֻבָּשִׁיםme/lub/ba/SHIMclothed inבְּגָדִיםbe/ga/DIMrobesבְּגֹרֶןbe/GO/renat the threshing floor ofפֶּתַחPE/tachat the entrance ofשַׁעַרSHA/arthe gate ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaוְכׇל־הַנְּבִיאִיםve/KHOL-han/ne/vi/IMand all the prophetsמִתְנַבְּאִיםmit/nab/be/IMwere prophesyingלִפְנֵיהֶם׃lif/ne/HEMbefore them

    And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeלוֹlofor himselfצִדְקִיָּהTsid/kiy/YAZedekiahבֶן־כְּנַעֲנָהven-Ke/na/a/NAthe son of Chenaanahקַרְנֵיkar/NEhorns ofבַרְזֶלvar/ZELironוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּאֵלֶּהbe/EL/lewith theseתְּנַגַּחte/nag/GACHyou shall goreאֶת־אֲרָםet-A/RAMAramעַד־כַּלֹּתָם׃ad-kal/lo/TAMuntil you have destroyed them

    And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.

    וְכׇל־הַנְּבִאִיםve/KHOL-han/ne/vi/IMand all the prophetsנִבְּאִיםnib/be/IMwere prophesyingכֵּןkensoלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעֲלֵהa/LEgo upרָמֹתRa/MOTRamoth-גִּלְעָדgil/ADgileadוְהַצְלַחve/hats/LACHand prosperוְנָתַןve/na/TANfor will give itיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.

    וְהַמַּלְאָךְve/ham/mal/AKHand the messengerאֲשֶׁר־הָלַךְa/SHER-ha/LAKHwho had goneלִקְרֹאlik/ROto callמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִנֵּה־נָאhin/NE-nabehold nowדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsפֶּה־אֶחָדpe-e/CHADwith one mouthטוֹבtovgoodאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingיְהִי־נָאye/HI-nalet be now(דבריך)davarayakh[דְבָרְךָ]de/va/re/KHAyour wordכִּדְבַרkid/VARlike the word ofאַחַדa/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוְדִבַּרְתָּve/dib/bar/TAand speakטּוֹב׃tovgood

    And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahחַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaias the LORD livesכִּיkisurelyאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatיֹאמַרyo/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלַיe/LAYto meאֹתוֹo/TOthatאֲדַבֵּר׃a/dab/BERwill I speak

    And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

    וַיָּבוֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְel-ham/ME/lekhto the kingוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahהֲנֵלֵךְha/ne/LEKHshall we goאֶל־רָמֹתel-Ra/MOTagainst Ramoth-גִּלְעָדgil/ADgileadלַמִּלְחָמָהlam/mil/cha/MAto battleאִם־נֶחְדָּלim-nech/DALor shall we refrainוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himעֲלֵהa/LEgo upוְהַצְלַחve/hats/LACHand prosperוְנָתַןve/na/TANfor will give itיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingעַד־כַּמֶּהad-kam/MEhow manyפְעָמִיםfe/a/MIMtimesאֲנִיa/NIshall Iמַשְׁבִּיעֶךָmash/bi/E/khaadjure youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תְדַבֵּרlo-te/dab/BERyou speak notאֵלַיe/LAYto meרַק־אֱמֶתrak-e/METonly truthבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Kol-yis/ra/ELall Israelנְפֹצִיםne/fo/TSIMscatteredאֶל־הֶהָרִיםel-he/ha/RIMon the mountainsכַּצֹּאןkats/TSONlike sheepאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave noרֹעֶהro/Eshepherdוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־אֲדֹנִיםlo-a/do/NIMno mastersלָאֵלֶּהla/EL/lehave theseיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vulet them returnאִישׁ־לְבֵיתוֹish-le/ve/TOevery man to his houseבְּשָׁלוֹם׃be/sha/LOMin peace

    And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelאֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָטel-Ye/ho/sha/FATto Jehoshaphatהֲלוֹאha/LOdid notאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI tellאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youלוֹא־יִתְנַבֵּאlo-yit/nab/BEhe would not prophesyעָלַיa/LAYconcerning meטוֹבtovgoodכִּיkibutאִם־רָע׃im-raonly evil

    And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשְׁמַעshe/MAhearדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingעַל־כִּסְאוֹal-kis/Oon His throneוְכׇל־צְבָאve/KHOL-tse/VAand all the host ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensעֹמֵדo/MEDstandingעָלָיוa/LAYVbeside Himמִימִינוֹmi/mi/NOon His rightוּמִשְּׂמֹאלוֹ׃u/mis/se/mo/LOand on His left

    And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִיmiwhoיְפַתֶּהye/fat/TEwill enticeאֶת־אַחְאָבet-Ach/AVAhabוְיַעַלve/YA/althat he may go upוְיִפֹּלve/yip/POLand fallבְּרָמֹתbe/Ra/MOTat Ramoth-גִּלְעָדgil/ADgileadוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidזֶהzeoneבְּכֹהbe/KHOthis wayוְזֶהve/ZEand anotherאֹמֵרo/MERsaidבְּכֹה׃be/KHOthat way

    And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand came outהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe spiritוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲנִיa/NIIאֲפַתֶּנּוּa/fat/TEN/nuI will entice himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himבַּמָּה׃bam/MAby what

    And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵצֵאe/TSEI will go outוְהָיִיתִיve/ha/YI/tiand I will beרוּחַRU/acha spirit ofשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodבְּפִיbe/FIin the mouth ofכׇּל־נְבִיאָיוkol-ne/vi/AYVall his prophetsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidתְּפַתֶּהte/fat/TEyou shall enticeוְגַם־תּוּכָלve/GAM-tu/KHALand also prevailצֵאtsego outוַעֲשֵׂה־כֵן׃va/a/SE-khenand do so

    And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנָתַןna/TANhas putיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDרוּחַRU/acha spirit ofשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodבְּפִיbe/FIin the mouth ofכׇּל־נְבִיאֶיךָkol-ne/vi/E/khaall your prophetsאֵלֶּהEL/letheseוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDדִּבֶּרdib/BERhas spokenעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaconcerning youרָעָה׃ra/Aevil

    Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand came nearצִדְקִיָּהוּTsid/kiy/YA/huZedekiahבֶן־כְּנַעֲנָהven-Ke/na/a/NAthe son of Chenaanahוַיַּכֶּהvay/yak/KEand he struckאֶת־מִיכָיְהוּet-Mi/KHAY/huMicaiahעַל־הַלֶּחִיal-hal/LE/chion the cheekוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵי־זֶהe-zewhich wayעָבַרa/VARdid goרוּחַ־יְהֹוָהRU/ach-Adonaithe Spirit of the LORDמֵאִתִּיme/it/TIfrom meלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאוֹתָךְ׃o/TAKHwith you

    But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahהִנְּךָhin/ne/KHAbehold youרֹאֶהro/Eshall seeבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenתָּבֹאta/VOyou goחֶדֶרCHE/derroomבְּחֶדֶרbe/CHE/derwithin roomלְהֵחָבֵה׃le/he/cha/VEto hide

    And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelקַחkachtakeאֶת־מִיכָיְהוּet-Mi/KHAY/huMicaiahוַהֲשִׁיבֵהוּva/ha/shi/VE/huand take him backאֶל־אָמֹןel-A/MONto Amonשַׂר־הָעִירsar-ha/IRthe governor of the cityוְאֶל־יוֹאָשׁve/EL-yo/ASHand Joashבֶּן־הַמֶּלֶךְ׃ben-ham/ME/lekhthe son of the king

    And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

27. 27

    וְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingשִׂימוּSI/muputאֶת־זֶהet-zethis oneבֵּיתbetin the house ofהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/lethe prisonוְהַאֲכִלֻהוּve/ha/a/khi/LU/huand feed himלֶחֶםLE/chembread ofלַחַץLA/chatsafflictionוּמַיִםu/MA/yimand water ofלַחַץLA/chatsafflictionעַדaduntilבֹּאִיBO/iI comeבְשָׁלוֹם׃ve/sha/LOMin peace

    And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִיכָיְהוּMi/KHAY/huMicaiahאִם־שׁוֹבim-shovif returnתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVyou returnבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceלֹא־דִבֶּרlo-dib/BERhas not spokenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבִּיbiby meוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearעַמִּיםam/MIMO peoplesכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of you

    And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/also went upמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of IsraelוִיהוֹשָׁפָטVi/ho/sha/FATand Jehoshaphatמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of JudahרָמֹתRa/MOTto Ramoth-גִּלְעָד׃gil/ADgilead

    So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָטel-Ye/ho/sha/FATto Jehoshaphatהִתְחַפֵּשׂhit/chap/PESI will disguise myselfוָבֹאva/VOand goבַמִּלְחָמָהvam/mil/cha/MAinto the battleוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youלְבַשׁle/VASHput onבְּגָדֶיךָbe/ga/DE/khayour robesוַיִּתְחַפֵּשׂvay/yit/chap/PESand disguised himselfמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיָּבוֹאvay/ya/VOand wentבַּמִּלְחָמָה׃bam/mil/cha/MAinto the battle

    And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

31. 31

    וּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand the king ofאֲרָםA/RAMAramצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedאֶת־שָׂרֵיet-sa/REthe commanders ofהָרֶכֶבha/RE/khevthe chariotsאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat he hadשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyוּשְׁנַיִםu/she/NA/yimand twoלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlonotתִּלָּחֲמוּtil/la/cha/MUfightאֶת־קָטֹןet-ka/TONwith smallוְאֶת־גָּדוֹלve/ET-ga/DOLor greatכִּיkibutאִם־אֶת־מֶלֶךְim-et-ME/lekhonly with the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְבַדּוֹ׃le/vad/DOalone

    But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

32. 32

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawשָׂרֵיsa/REthe commanders ofהָרֶכֶבha/RE/khevthe chariotsאֶת־יְהוֹשָׁפָטet-Ye/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidאַךְakhsurelyמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israelהוּאhuit isוַיָּסֻרוּvay/ya/SU/ruand they turned asideעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himלְהִלָּחֵםle/hil/la/CHEMto fightוַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKand cried outיְהוֹשָׁפָט׃Ye/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphat

    And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.

33. 33

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawשָׂרֵיsa/REthe commanders ofהָרֶכֶבha/RE/khevthe chariotsכִּי־לֹא־מֶלֶךְki-lo-ME/lekhthat not the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהוּאhuwas heוַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuthey turned backמֵאַחֲרָיו׃me/a/cha/RAYVfrom following him

    And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

34. 34

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manמָשַׁךְma/SHAKHdrewבַּקֶּשֶׁתbak/KE/shetthe bowלְתֻמּוֹle/tum/MOin his innocenceוַיַּכֶּהvay/yak/KEand he struckאֶת־מֶלֶךְet-ME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבֵּיןbenbetweenהַדְּבָקִיםhad/de/va/KIMthe jointsוּבֵיןu/VENandהַשִּׁרְיָןhash/shir/YANthe breastplateוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלְרַכָּבוֹle/rak/ka/VOto his charioteerהֲפֹךְha/FOKHturnיָדְךָya/de/KHAyour handוְהוֹצִיאֵנִיve/ho/tsi/E/niand take me outמִן־הַמַּחֲנֶהmin-ham/ma/cha/NEfrom the campכִּיkiforהׇחֳלֵיתִי׃ho/cho/LE/tiI am wounded

    And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

35. 35

    וַתַּעֲלֶהvat/ta/a/LEand roseהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe battleבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוְהַמֶּלֶךְve/ham/ME/lekhand the kingהָיָהha/YAwasמׇעֳמָדmo/o/MADpropped upבַּמֶּרְכָּבָהbam/mer/ka/VAin the chariotנֹכַחNO/khachfacingאֲרָםA/RAMAramוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand he diedבָּעֶרֶבba/E/revin the eveningוַיִּצֶקvay/YI/tsekand poured outדַּם־הַמַּכָּהdam-ham/mak/KAthe blood of the woundאֶל־חֵיקel-chekto the bottom ofהָרָכֶב׃ha/RA/khevthe chariot

    And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.

36. 36

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand passedהָרִנָּהha/rin/NAthe cryבַּמַּחֲנֶהbam/ma/cha/NEthrough the campכְּבֹאke/VOat the going down ofהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאִישׁishevery manאֶל־עִירוֹel-i/ROto his cityוְאִישׁve/ISHand every manאֶל־אַרְצוֹ׃el-ar/TSOto his land

    And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.

37. 37

    וַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיָּבוֹאvay/ya/VOand was broughtשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONto Samariaוַיִּקְבְּרוּvay/yik/be/RUand they buriedאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingבְּשֹׁמְרוֹן׃be/Shom/RONin Samaria

    So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.

38. 38

    וַיִּשְׁטֹףvay/yish/TOFand one washedאֶת־הָרֶכֶבet-ha/RE/khevthe chariotעַלalatבְּרֵכַתbe/re/KHATthe pool ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaוַיָּלֹקּוּvay/ya/LOK/kuand lickedהַכְּלָבִיםhak/ke/la/VIMthe dogsאֶת־דָּמוֹet-da/MOhis bloodוְהַזֹּנוֹתve/haz/zo/NOTand the prostitutesרָחָצוּra/CHA/tsubathedכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֵּר׃dib/BERHe spoke

    And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.

39. 39

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofאַחְאָבAch/AVAhabוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁרve/KHOL-a/SHERand all thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didוּבֵיתu/VETand the house ofהַשֵּׁןhash/SHENivoryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּנָהba/NAhe builtוְכׇל־הֶעָרִיםve/KHOL-he/a/RIMand all the citiesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּנָהba/NAhe builtהֲלוֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemare they notכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

40. 40

    וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptאַחְאָבAch/AVAhabעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedאֲחַזְיָהוּA/chaz/YA/huAhaziahבְנוֹve/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

41. 41

    וִיהוֹשָׁפָטVi/ho/sha/FATand Jehoshaphatבֶּן־אָסָאben-A/SAthe son of Asaמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedעַל־יְהוּדָהal-Ye/hu/DAover Judahבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofאַרְבַּעar/BAfourלְאַחְאָבle/Ach/AVof AhabמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

42. 42

    יְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatבֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁיםben-she/lo/SHIMa son of thirtyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsבְּמׇלְכוֹbe/mol/KHOwhen he began to reignוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsמָלַךְma/LAKHhe reignedבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherעֲזוּבָהA/zu/VAAzubahבַּת־שִׁלְחִי׃bat-Shil/CHIthe daughter of Shilhi

    Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

43. 43

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he walkedבְּכׇל־דֶּרֶךְbe/KHOL-DE/rekhin all the way ofאָסָאA/SAAsaאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherלֹא־סָרlo-sarhe did not turn asideמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom itלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdoingהַיָּשָׁרhay/ya/SHARwhat was rightבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD:

44. 44

    אַךְakhbutהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruwere not removedעוֹדodstillהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמְזַבְּחִיםme/zab/be/CHIMwere sacrificingוּמְקַטְּרִיםu/me/kat/te/RIMand burning incenseבַּבָּמוֹת׃bab/ba/MOTat the high places

    nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.

45. 45

    וַיַּשְׁלֵםvay/yash/LEMand he made peaceיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatעִם־מֶלֶךְim-ME/lekhwith the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.

46. 46

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe acts ofיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatוּגְבוּרָתוֹu/ge/vu/ra/TOand his mightאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he showedוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand howנִלְחָםnil/CHAMhe foughtהֲלֹא־הֵםha/LO-hemare they notכְּתוּבִיםke/tu/VIMwrittenעַל־סֵפֶרal-SE/ferin the book ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe events ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEof the kings ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

47. 47

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofהַקָּדֵשׁhak/ka/DESHmale cult prostitutesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִשְׁאַרnish/ARremainedבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofאָסָאA/SAAsaאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherבִּעֵרbi/ERhe purgedמִן־הָאָרֶץ׃min-ha/A/retsfrom the land

    And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.

48. 48

    וּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand kingאֵיןenthere was noבֶּאֱדוֹםBe/e/DOMin Edomנִצָּבnits/TSAVa deputyמֶלֶךְ׃ME/lekhwas king

    There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.

49. 49

    יְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphat(עשר)shar[עָשָׂה]a/SAhe madeאֳנִיּוֹתo/niy/YOTships ofתַּרְשִׁישׁTar/SHISHTarshishלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֹפִירָהO/FI/rato Ophirלַזָּהָבlaz/za/HAVfor goldוְלֹאve/LObut notהָלָךְha/LAKHthey wentכִּי־[נִשְׁבְּרוּ]ki-nish/be/RUfor were broken(נשברה)nashavarahאֳנִיּוֹתo/niy/YOTthe shipsבְּעֶצְיוֹןbe/Ets/YONat Ezion-גָּבֶר׃GA/vergeber

    Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

50. 50

    אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARsaidאֲחַזְיָהוּA/chaz/YA/huAhaziahבֶן־אַחְאָבven-Ach/AVthe son of Ahabאֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָטel-Ye/ho/sha/FATto Jehoshaphatיֵלְכוּyel/KHUlet goעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsעִם־עֲבָדֶיךָim-a/va/DE/khawith your servantsבׇּאֳנִיּוֹתbo/o/niy/YOTin the shipsוְלֹאve/LOand notאָבָהa/VAwas willingיְהוֹשָׁפָט׃Ye/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphat

    Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

51. 51

    וַיִּשְׁכַּבvay/yish/KAVand sleptיְהוֹשָׁפָטYe/ho/sha/FATJehoshaphatעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersוַיִּקָּבֵרvay/yik/ka/VERand was buriedעִם־אֲבֹתָיוim-a/vo/TAYVwith his fathersבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedיְהוֹרָםYe/ho/RAMJehoramבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVin his place

    And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

52. 52

    אֲחַזְיָהוּA/chaz/YA/huAhaziahבֶן־אַחְאָבven-Ach/AVthe son of Ahabמָלַךְma/LAKHreignedעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELover Israelבְּשֹׁמְרוֹןbe/Shom/RONin Samariaבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofשְׁבַע־עֶשְׂרֵהshe/VA-es/REseventeenלִיהוֹשָׁפָטlI/ho/sha/FATof JehoshaphatמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELover Israelשְׁנָתָיִם׃she/na/TA/yimtwo years

    Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.

53. 53

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didהָרַעha/RAevilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand walkedבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin the way ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוּבְדֶרֶךְu/ve/DE/rekhand in the way ofאִמּוֹim/MOhis motherוּבְדֶרֶךְu/ve/DE/rekhand in the way ofיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamבֶּן־נְבָטben-Ne/VATthe son of Nebatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶחֱטִיאhe/che/TImade to sinאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃et-Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:

54. 54

    וַיַּעֲבֹדvay/ya/a/VODand he servedאֶת־הַבַּעַלet-Hab/BA/althe Baalוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲוֶהvay/yish/ta/cha/VEand he bowed downלוֹloto himוַיַּכְעֵסvay/yakh/ESand he provoked to angerאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneאָבִיו׃a/VIVhis father

    For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
