   And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

   And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)

   וַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they sentוַיִּקְרְאוּ־לוֹvay/yik/re/U-loand they called him(ויבאו)vayavv[וַיָּבֹא]vay/ya/VOand cameיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamוְכׇל־קְהַלve/KHOL-ke/HALand all the assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand spokeאֶל־רְחַבְעָםel-Re/chav/AMto Rehoboamלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,

   אָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherהִקְשָׁהhik/SHAmade hardאֶת־עֻלֵּנוּet-ul/LE/nuour yokeוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youעַתָּהat/TAnowהָקֵלha/KELlightenמֵעֲבֹדַתme/a/vo/DATthe service ofאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherהַקָּשָׁהhak/ka/SHAhardוּמֵעֻלּוֹu/me/ul/LOand his yokeהַכָּבֵדhak/ka/VEDheavyאֲשֶׁר־נָתַןa/SHER-na/TANthat he putעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuupon usוְנַעַבְדֶךָּ׃ve/na/av/DEK/kaand we will serve you

   Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלְכוּ־עֹדle/KHU-odgo yetשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְשׁוּבוּve/SHU/vuand returnאֵלָיe/LAYto meוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

   And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

   וַיִּוָּעַץvay/yiv/va/ATSand consultedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingרְחַבְעָםRe/chav/AMRehoboamאֶת־הַזְּקֵנִיםet-haz/ze/ke/NIMwith the old menאֲשֶׁר־הָיוּa/SHER-ha/YUwho had beenעֹמְדִיםom/DIMstandingאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEbeforeשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherבִּהְיֹתוֹbih/yo/TOwhile he wasחַיchayaliveלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֵיךְekhhowאַתֶּםat/TEMdo youנוֹעָצִיםno/a/TSIMcounselלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto answerאֶת־הָעָם־הַזֶּהet-ha/AM-haz/ZEthis peopleדָּבָר׃da/VARa word

   And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?

   (וידבר)vayadavar[וַיְדַבְּרוּ]vay/dab/be/RUand they spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאִם־הַיּוֹםim-hay/YOMif todayתִּהְיֶה־עֶבֶדtih/YE-E/vedyou will be a servantלָעָםla/AMto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַעֲבַדְתָּםva/a/vad/TAMand serve themוַעֲנִיתָםva/a/ni/TAMand answer themוְדִבַּרְתָּve/dib/bar/TAand speakאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodוְהָיוּve/ha/YUthen they will beלְךָle/KHAto youעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsכׇּל־הַיָּמִים׃kol-hay/ya/MIMall the days

   And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.

   וַיַּעֲזֹבvay/ya/a/ZOVbut he forsookאֶת־עֲצַתet-a/TSATthe counsel ofהַזְּקֵנִיםhaz/ze/ke/NIMthe old menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְעָצֻהוּye/a/TSU/huthey had counseled himוַיִּוָּעַץvay/yiv/va/ATSand he consultedאֶת־הַיְלָדִיםet-hay/la/DIMwith the young menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגָּדְלוּga/de/LUhad grown upאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereהָעֹמְדִיםha/om/DIMstandingלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore him

   But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמָהmawhatאַתֶּםat/TEMdo youנוֹעָצִיםno/a/TSIMcounselוְנָשִׁיבve/na/SHIVthat we may returnדָּבָרda/VARa wordאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUhave spokenאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהָקֵלha/KELlightenמִן־הָעֹלmin-ha/OLthe yokeאֲשֶׁר־נָתַןa/SHER-na/TANthat putאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherעָלֵינוּ׃a/LE/nuupon us

   And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?

    וַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַיְלָדִיםhay/la/DIMthe young menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגָּדְלוּga/de/LUhad grown upאִתּוֹit/TOwith himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּה־תֹאמַרko-to/MARso shall you sayלָעָםla/AMto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUhave spokenאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָבִיךָa/VI/khayour fatherהִכְבִּידhikh/BIDmade heavyאֶת־עֻלֵּנוּet-ul/LE/nuour yokeוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youהָקֵלha/KELlightenמֵעָלֵינוּme/a/LE/nufrom upon usכֹּהkosoתְּדַבֵּרte/dab/BERyou shall speakאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themקׇטׇנִּיko/ton/NImy little fingerעָבָהa/VAis thickerמִמׇּתְנֵיmim/mot/NEthan the loins ofאָבִי׃a/VImy father

    And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָבִיa/VImy fatherהֶעְמִיסhe/MISloadedעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youעֹלola yokeכָּבֵדka/VEDheavyוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאוֹסִיףo/SIFwill addעַל־עֻלְּכֶםal-ul/le/KHEMupon your yokeאָבִיa/VImy fatherיִסַּרyis/SARchastisedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבַּשּׁוֹטִיםbash/sho/TIMwith whipsוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֲיַסֵּרa/yas/SERwill chastiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבָּעַקְרַבִּים׃ba/ak/rab/BIMwith scorpions

    And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

    וַיָּבוֹvay/ya/VOand cameיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleאֶל־רְחַבְעָםel-Re/chav/AMto Rehoboamבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthe thirdכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhad spokenהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשׁוּבוּSHU/vureturnאֵלַיe/LAYto meבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁי׃hash/she/li/SHIthe third

    So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleקָשָׁהka/SHAharshlyוַיַּעֲזֹבvay/ya/a/ZOVand forsookאֶת־עֲצַתet-a/TSATthe counsel ofהַזְּקֵנִיםhaz/ze/ke/NIMthe old menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְעָצֻהוּ׃ye/a/TSU/huthey had counseled him

    And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכַּעֲצַתka/a/TSATaccording to the counsel ofהַיְלָדִיםhay/la/DIMthe young menלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָבִיa/VImy fatherהִכְבִּידhikh/BIDmade heavyאֶת־עֻלְּכֶםet-ul/le/KHEMyour yokeוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹסִיףo/SIFI will addעַל־עֻלְּכֶםal-ul/le/KHEMupon your yokeאָבִיa/VImy fatherיִסַּרyis/SARchastisedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבַּשּׁוֹטִיםbash/sho/TIMwith whipsוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֲיַסֵּרa/yas/SERwill chastiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבָּעַקְרַבִּים׃ba/ak/rab/BIMwith scorpions

    And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

    וְלֹא־שָׁמַעve/LO-sha/MAand did not listenהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleכִּי־הָיְתָהki-ha/ye/TAfor it wasסִבָּהsib/BAa turn of affairsמֵעִםme/IMfromיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְמַעַןle/MA/anin order thatהָקִיםha/KIMHe might establishאֶת־דְּבָרוֹet-de/va/ROHis wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofאֲחִיָּהA/chiy/YAAhijahהַשִּׁילֹנִיhash/Shi/lo/NIthe Shiloniteאֶל־יָרׇבְעָםel-Ya/rov/AMto Jeroboamבֶּן־נְבָט׃ben-Ne/VATthe son of Nebat

    Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawכׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלkol-Yis/ra/ELall Israelכִּיkithatלֹא־שָׁמַעlo-sha/MAdid not listenהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַיָּשִׁבוּvay/ya/SHI/vuand answeredהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingדָּבָרda/VARa wordלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־לָּנוּma-LA/nuwhat do we haveחֵלֶקCHE/lekportionבְּדָוִדbe/Da/VIDin Davidוְלֹא־נַחֲלָהve/LO-na/cha/LAand no inheritanceבְּבֶן־יִשַׁיbe/VEN-yi/SHAYin the son of Jesseלְאֹהָלֶיךָle/o/ha/LE/khato your tentsיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelעַתָּהat/TAnowרְאֵהre/Esee toבֵיתְךָve/te/KHAyour houseדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְאֹהָלָיו׃le/o/ha/LAYVto their tents

    So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

17. 17

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEbut the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהַיֹּשְׁבִיםhay/yosh/VIMwho dweltבְּעָרֵיbe/a/REin the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוַיִּמְלֹךְvay/yim/LOKHand reignedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themרְחַבְעָם׃Re/chav/AMRehoboam

    But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

18. 18

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingרְחַבְעָםRe/chav/AMRehoboamאֶת־אֲדֹרָםet-A/do/RAMAdoramאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wasעַל־הַמַּסal-ham/MASover the forced laborוַיִּרְגְּמוּvay/yir/ge/MUand they stonedכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלkhol-Yis/ra/ELall IsraelבּוֹbohimאֶבֶןE/venwith stonesוַיָּמֹתvay/ya/MOTand he diedוְהַמֶּלֶךְve/ham/ME/lekhand the kingרְחַבְעָםRe/chav/AMRehoboamהִתְאַמֵּץhit/am/METSmade hasteלַעֲלוֹתla/a/LOTto mountבַּמֶּרְכָּבָהbam/mer/ka/VAin the chariotלָנוּסla/NUSto fleeיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

    וַיִּפְשְׁעוּvay/yif/she/Uso rebelledיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּבֵיתbe/VETagainst the house ofדָּוִדDa/VIDDavidעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardכׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלkol-Yis/ra/ELall Israelכִּי־שָׁבki-shavthat had returnedיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUthey sentוַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they calledאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־הָעֵדָהel-ha/e/DAto the congregationוַיַּמְלִיכוּvay/yam/LI/khuand they made kingאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Kol-yis/ra/ELover all Israelלֹאlonotהָיָהha/YAwasאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterבֵית־דָּוִדvet-Da/VIDthe house of Davidזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptשֵׁבֶט־יְהוּדָהSHE/vet-Ye/hu/DAthe tribe of Judahלְבַדּוֹ׃le/vad/DOalone

    And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.

21. 21

    (ויבאו)vayavv[וַיָּבֹא]vay/ya/VOand cameרְחַבְעָםRe/chav/AMRehoboamיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיַּקְהֵלvay/yak/HELand he assembledאֶת־כׇּל־בֵּיתet-kol-betall the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶת־שֵׁבֶטve/ET-SHE/vetand the tribe ofבִּנְיָמִןBin/ya/MINBenjaminמֵאָהme/Aa hundredוּשְׁמֹנִיםu/she/mo/NIMand eightyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandבָּחוּרba/CHURchosen menעֹשֵׂהo/SEwho madeמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarלְהִלָּחֵםle/hil/la/CHEMto fightעִם־בֵּיתim-betwith the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto bring backאֶת־הַמְּלוּכָהet-ham/me/lu/KHAthe kingshipלִרְחַבְעָםLir/chav/AMto Rehoboamבֶּן־שְׁלֹמֹה׃ben-She/lo/MOthe son of Solomon

    And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIbut cameדְּבַרde/VARthe word ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶל־שְׁמַעְיָהel-She/ma/YAto Shemaiahאִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִיםish-ha/e/lo/HIMthe man of Godלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

23. 23

    אֱמֹרe/MORsayאֶל־רְחַבְעָםel-Re/chav/AMto Rehoboamבֶּן־שְׁלֹמֹהben-She/lo/MOthe son of SolomonמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְאֶל־כׇּל־בֵּיתve/EL-kol-betand to all the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוּבִנְיָמִיןu/Vin/ya/MINand Benjaminוְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,

24. 24

    כֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־תַעֲלוּlo-ta/a/LUyou shall not go upוְלֹא־תִלָּחֲמוּןve/LO-til/la/cha/MUNnor fightעִם־אֲחֵיכֶםim-a/che/KHEMagainst your brothersבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of IsraelשׁוּבוּSHU/vureturnאִישׁishevery manלְבֵיתוֹle/ve/TOto his houseכִּיkiforמֵאִתִּיme/it/TIfrom Meנִהְיָהnih/YAhas come aboutהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uso they listened toאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the word ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.

    וַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamאֶת־שְׁכֶםet-She/KHEMShechemבְּהַרbe/HARin the hill country ofאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand dweltבָּהּbain itוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtאֶת־פְּנוּאֵל׃et-Pe/nu/ELPenuel

    Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.

26. 26

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamבְּלִבּוֹbe/lib/BOin his heartעַתָּהat/TAnowתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVwill returnהַמַּמְלָכָהham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdomלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofדָּוִד׃Da/VIDDavid

    And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:

    אִם־יַעֲלֶהim-ya/a/LEif goes upהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto offerזְבָחִיםze/va/CHIMsacrificesבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְשָׁבve/SHAVthen will turn backלֵבlevthe heart ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶל־אֲדֹנֵיהֶםel-a/do/ne/HEMto their lordאֶל־רְחַבְעָםel-Re/chav/AMto RehoboamמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוַהֲרָגֻנִיva/ha/ra/GU/niand they will kill meוְשָׁבוּve/SHA/vuand they shall returnאֶל־רְחַבְעָםel-Re/chav/AMto Rehoboamמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה׃ME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judah

    If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.

    וַיִּוָּעַץvay/yiv/va/ATSand took counselהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoעֶגְלֵיeg/LEcalves ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themרַב־לָכֶםrav-la/KHEMenough for youמֵעֲלוֹתme/a/LOTof going upיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour godsיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעֱלוּךָhe/e/LU/khabrought you upמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

29. 29

    וַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he setאֶת־הָאֶחָדet-ha/e/CHADthe oneבְּבֵית־אֵלbe/VET-elin Beth-elוְאֶת־הָאֶחָדve/ET-ha/e/CHADand the otherנָתַןna/TANhe putבְּדָן׃be/DANin Dan

    And he set the one in Beth-el, and the other put he in Dan.

30. 30

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand becameהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְחַטָּאתle/chat/TATa sinוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADthe oneעַד־דָּן׃ad-Danas far as Dan

    And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.

31. 31

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeאֶת־בֵּיתet-beta house ofבָּמוֹתba/MOThigh placesוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeכֹּהֲנִיםko/ha/NIMpriestsמִקְצוֹתmik/TSOTfrom among allהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־הָיוּlo-ha/YUwere notמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the sons ofלֵוִי׃Le/VILevi

    And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.

32. 32

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamחָגchaga feastבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהַשְּׁמִינִיhash/she/mi/NIthe eighthבַחֲמִשָּׁה־עָשָׂרva/cha/mish/SHA-a/SARon the fifteenthיוֹםyomdayלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthכֶּחָגke/CHAGlike the feastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבִּיהוּדָהbI/hu/DAin Judahוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he offeredעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altarכֵּןkensoעָשָׂהa/SAhe didבְּבֵית־אֵלbe/VET-elin Beth-elלְזַבֵּחַle/zab/BE/achto sacrificeלָעֲגָלִיםla/a/ga/LIMto the calvesאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he had madeוְהֶעֱמִידve/he/e/MIDand he stationedבְּבֵיתbe/VETin Beth-אֵלelelאֶת־כֹּהֲנֵיet-ko/ha/NEthe priests ofהַבָּמוֹתhab/ba/MOTthe high placesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂה׃a/SAhe had made

    And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Beth-el, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Beth-el the priests of the high places which he had made.

33. 33

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he offeredעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altarאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat he had madeבְּבֵית־אֵלbe/VET-elin Beth-elבַּחֲמִשָּׁה־עָשָׂרba/cha/mish/SHA-a/SARon the fifteenthיוֹםyomdayבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהַשְּׁמִינִיhash/she/mi/NIthe eighthבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthאֲשֶׁר־בָּדָאa/SHER-ba/DAwhich he had devised(מלבד)malavad[מִלִּבּוֹ]mil/lib/BOof his own heartוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he madeחָגchaga feastלִבְנֵיliv/NEfor the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he offeredעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altarלְהַקְטִיר׃le/hak/TIRto burn incense

    So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Beth-el the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.
