   Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

   For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)

   The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

   The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

   Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,

   Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

   And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

   וּבֶלַעu/VE/laand Belaבֶּן־עָזָזben-A/ZAZthe son of Azazבֶּן־שֶׁמַעben-SHE/mathe son of Shemaבֶּן־יוֹאֵלben-Yo/ELthe son of Joelהוּאhuheיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVdweltבַּעֲרֹעֵרba/A/ro/ERin Aroerוְעַד־נְבוֹve/AD-ne/VOas far as Neboוּבַעַלu/VA/aland Baal-מְעוֹן׃me/ONmeon

   And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon:

   וְלַמִּזְרָחve/lam/miz/RACHand eastwardיָשַׁבya/SHAVhe dweltעַד־לְבוֹאad-le/VOas far as the entering ofמִדְבָּרָהmid/BA/rathe wildernessלְמִן־הַנָּהָרle/MIN-han/na/HARfrom the riverפְּרָתPe/RATEuphratesכִּיkibecauseמִקְנֵיהֶםmik/ne/HEMtheir livestockרָבוּra/VUhad multipliedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofגִּלְעָד׃Gil/ADGilead

   And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

    וּבִימֵיu/vi/MEand in the days ofשָׁאוּלSha/ULSaulעָשׂוּa/SUmadeמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarעִם־הַהַגְרִאִיםim-Ha/hag/ri/IMwith the Hagaritesוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUwho fellבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMinto their handsוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand they dweltבְּאׇהֳלֵיהֶםbe/o/ho/le/HEMin their tentsעַל־כׇּל־פְּנֵיal-kol-pe/NEthroughout allמִזְרָחmiz/RACHthe eastלַגִּלְעָד׃lag/Gil/ADof Gilead

    And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.

    וּבְנֵי־גָדu/ve/NE-gadand the children of Gadלְנֶגְדָּםle/neg/DAMopposite themיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUdweltבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofהַבָּשָׁןHab/ba/SHANBashanעַד־סַלְכָה׃ad-Sal/KHAas far as Salchah

    And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:

    יוֹאֵלYo/ELJoelהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefוְשָׁפָםve/Sha/FAMand Shaphamהַמִּשְׁנֶהham/mish/NEthe secondוְיַעְנַיve/Ya/NAYand Janaiוְשָׁפָטve/Sha/FATand Shaphatבַּבָּשָׁן׃bab/Ba/SHANin Bashan

    Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13. 13

    וַאֲחֵיהֶםva/a/che/HEMand their brothersלְבֵיתle/VETby the house ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersמִיכָאֵלMi/kha/ELMichaelוּמְשֻׁלָּםu/Me/shul/LAMand Meshullamוְשֶׁבַעve/SHE/vaand Shebaוְיוֹרַיve/Yo/RAYand Joraiוְיַעְכָּןve/Ya/KANand Jakanוְזִיעַve/ZI/aand Ziaוָעֵבֶרva/E/verand Eberשִׁבְעָה׃shiv/Aseven

    And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

    אֵלֶּהEL/letheseבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאֲבִיחַיִלA/vi/CHA/yilAbihailבֶּן־חוּרִיben-Chu/RIthe son of Huriבֶּן־יָרוֹחַben-Ya/RO/achthe son of Jaroahבֶּן־גִּלְעָדben-Gil/ADthe son of Gileadבֶּן־מִיכָאֵלben-Mi/kha/ELthe son of Michaelבֶּן־יְשִׁישַׁיben-Ye/shi/SHAYthe son of Jeshishaiבֶּן־יַחְדּוֹben-Yach/DOthe son of Jahdoבֶּן־בּוּז׃ben-Buzthe son of Buz

    These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

    Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.

    וַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand they dweltבַּגִּלְעָדbag/Gil/ADin Gileadבַּבָּשָׁןbab/Ba/SHANin Bashanוּבִבְנֹתֶיהָu/viv/no/TE/haand in its villagesוּבְכׇל־מִגְרְשֵׁיu/ve/KHOL-mig/re/SHEand in all the pasture lands ofשָׁרוֹןSha/RONSharonעַל־תּוֹצְאוֹתָם׃al-tots/o/TAMto their limits

    And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

    כֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themהִתְיַחְשׂוּhit/yach/SUwere enrolled by genealogyבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofיוֹתָםYo/TAMJothamמֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָהME/lekh-Ye/hu/DAthe king of Judahוּבִימֵיu/vi/MEand in the days ofיָרׇבְעָםYa/rov/AMJeroboamמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israel

    All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

    בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵןbe/NE-re/u/VENthe children of Reubenוְגָדִיve/Ga/DIand the Gaditesוַחֲצִיva/cha/TSIand half ofשֵׁבֶט־מְנַשֶּׁהSHE/vet-Me/nash/SHEthe tribe of Manassehמִן־בְּנֵי־חַיִלmin-be/NE-CHA/yilof the valiant menאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenנֹשְׂאֵיnos/Ebearingמָגֵןma/GENshieldוְחֶרֶבve/CHE/revand swordוְדֹרְכֵיve/DOR/kheand bendingקֶשֶׁתKE/sheta bowוּלְמוּדֵיu/le/mu/DEand trained inמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyוְאַרְבָּעָהve/ar/ba/Aand fourאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוּשְׁבַע־מֵאוֹתu/she/VA-me/OTand seven hundredוְשִׁשִּׁיםve/shish/SHIMand sixtyיֹצְאֵיyots/Egoing out toצָבָא׃tsa/VAthe army

    The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they madeמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarעִם־הַהַגְרִיאִיםim-Ha/hag/ri/IMwith the HagaritesוִיטוּרVi/TURand Jeturוְנָפִישׁve/Na/FISHand Naphishוְנוֹדָב׃ve/No/DAVand Nodab

    And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.

20. 20

    וַיֵּעָזְרוּvay/ye/a/ze/RUand they were helpedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themוַיִּנָּתְנוּvay/yin/na/te/NUand were deliveredבְיָדָםve/ya/DAMinto their handהַהַגְרִיאִיםha/Hag/ri/IMthe Hagaritesוְכֹלve/KHOLand allשֶׁעִמָּהֶםshe/im/ma/HEMwho were with themכִּיkibecauseלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godזָעֲקוּza/a/KUthey criedבַּמִּלְחָמָהbam/mil/cha/MAin the battleוְנַעְתּוֹרve/na/TORand He was entreatedלָהֶםla/HEMby themכִּי־בָטְחוּki-VAT/chubecause they trustedבוֹ׃voin Him

    And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

    וַיִּשְׁבּוּvay/yish/BUand they capturedמִקְנֵיהֶםmik/ne/HEMtheir livestockגְּמַלֵּיהֶםge/mal/le/HEMtheir camelsחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMfiftyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוְצֹאןve/TSONand sheepמָאתַיִםma/TA/yimtwo hundredוַחֲמִשִּׁיםva/cha/mish/SHIMand fiftyאֶלֶףE/lefthousandוַחֲמוֹרִיםva/cha/mo/RIMand donkeysאַלְפָּיִםal/PA/yimtwo thousandוְנֶפֶשׁve/NE/feshand persons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenמֵאָהme/Aa hundredאָלֶף׃A/lefthousand

    And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.

22. 22

    כִּי־חֲלָלִיםki-cha/la/LIMfor slainרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנָפָלוּna/FA/lufellכִּיkibecauseמֵהָאֱלֹהִיםme/ha/e/lo/HIMfrom God wasהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe warוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand they dweltתַחְתֵּיהֶםtach/te/HEMin their placeעַד־הַגֹּלָה׃ad-hag/go/LAuntil the exile

    For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

23. 23

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofחֲצִיcha/TSIthe halfשֵׁבֶטSHE/vettribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUdweltבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landמִבָּשָׁןmib/Ba/SHANfrom Bashanעַד־בַּעַלad-BA/alto Baal-חֶרְמוֹןcher/MONhermonוּשְׂנִירu/Se/NIRand Senirוְהַר־חֶרְמוֹןve/HAR-cher/MONand Mount HermonהֵמָּהHEM/matheyרָבוּ׃ra/VUwere many

    And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.

    וְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe heads ofבֵית־אֲבוֹתָםvet-a/vo/TAMtheir fathers' houseוְעֵפֶרve/E/fereven Epherוְיִשְׁעִיve/Yish/Iand IshiוֶאֱלִיאֵלVe/e/li/ELand Elielוְעַזְרִיאֵלve/Az/ri/ELand Azrielוְיִרְמְיָהve/Yir/me/YAand Jeremiahוְהוֹדַוְיָהve/Ho/dav/YAand Hodaviahוְיַחְדִּיאֵלve/Yach/di/ELand Jahdielאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenגִּבּוֹרֵיgib/bo/REmighty men ofחַיִלCHA/yilvalorאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmen ofשֵׁמוֹתshe/MOTnamesרָאשִׁיםra/SHIMheadsלְבֵיתle/VETof the house ofאֲבוֹתָם׃a/vo/TAMtheir fathers

    And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.

25. 25

    וַיִּמְעֲלוּvay/yim/a/LUand they acted unfaithfullyבֵּאלֹהֵיbe/lo/HEagainst the God ofאֲבֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersוַיִּזְנוּvay/yiz/NUand played the harlotאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe gods ofעַמֵּי־הָאָרֶץam/ME-ha/A/retsthe peoples of the landאֲשֶׁר־הִשְׁמִידa/SHER-hish/MIDwhom had destroyedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמִפְּנֵיהֶם׃mip/pe/ne/HEMfrom before them

    And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

    וַיָּעַרvay/YA/arand stirred upאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶת־רוּחַet-RU/achthe spirit ofפּוּלPulPulמֶלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּרME/lekh-Ash/SHURthe king of Assyriaוְאֶת־רוּחַve/ET-RU/achand the spirit ofתִּלְּגַתTil/le/GATTilgath-פִּלְנֶסֶרpil/NE/serpilneserמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוַיַּגְלֵםvay/yag/LEMand he carried them awayלָראוּבֵנִיlaR/u/ve/NIthe Reubenitesוְלַגָּדִיve/Lag/ga/DIand the Gaditesוְלַחֲצִיve/la/cha/TSIand the halfשֵׁבֶטSHE/vettribe ofמְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehוַיְבִיאֵםvay/vi/EMand brought themלַחְלַחLach/LACHto Halahוְחָבוֹרve/Cha/VORand Haborוְהָרָאve/Ha/RAand Haraוּנְהַרu/ne/HARand the riverגּוֹזָןGo/ZANGozanעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

    The sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofקְהָתKe/HATKohathעַמְרָםAm/RAMAmramיִצְהָרYits/HARIzharוְחֶבְרוֹןve/Chev/RONand Hebronוְעֻזִּיאֵל׃ve/Uz/zi/ELand Uzziel

    And the sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofעַמְרָםAm/RAMAmramאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוּמֹשֶׁהu/Mo/SHEand Mosesוּמִרְיָםu/Mir/YAMand Miriamוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronנָדָבNa/DAVNadabוַאֲבִיהוּאva/A/vi/HUand AbihuאֶלְעָזָרEl/a/ZAREleazarוְאִיתָמָר׃ve/I/ta/MARand Ithamar

    And the children of Amram; Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. The sons also of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

    Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,

31. 31

    וַאֲבִישׁוּעַva/A/vi/SHU/aand Abishuaהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־בֻּקִּיet-Buk/KIBukkiוּבֻקִּיu/Vuk/KIand Bukkiהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עֻזִּי׃et-Uz/ZIUzzi

    And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,

    וְעֻזִּיve/Uz/ZIand Uzziהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־זְרַחְיָהet-Ze/rach/YAZerahiahוּזְרַחְיָהu/Ze/rach/YAand Zerahiahהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־מְרָיוֹת׃et-Me/ra/YOTMeraioth

    And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,

    Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

    And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

    And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

    וְיוֹחָנָןve/Yo/cha/NANand Johananהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עֲזַרְיָהet-A/zar/YAAzariahהוּאhuit is heאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoכִּהֵןki/HENserved as priestבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseאֲשֶׁר־בָּנָהa/SHER-ba/NAthat builtשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest's office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)

    And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

    וַאֲחִיטוּבva/A/chi/TUVand Ahitubהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־צָדוֹקet-Tsa/DOKZadokוְצָדוֹקve/Tsa/DOKand Zadokהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־שַׁלּוּם׃et-Shal/LUMShallum

    And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,

39. 39

    וְשַׁלּוּםve/Shal/LUMand Shallumהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־חִלְקִיָּהet-Chil/kiy/YAHilkiahוְחִלְקִיָּהve/Chil/kiy/YAand Hilkiahהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עֲזַרְיָה׃et-A/zar/YAAzariah

    And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,

40. 40

    וַעֲזַרְיָהva/A/zar/YAand Azariahהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־שְׂרָיָהet-Se/ra/YASeraiahוּשְׂרָיָהu/Se/ra/YAand Seraiahהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־יְהוֹצָדָק׃et-Ye/ho/tsa/DAKJehozadak

    And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak,

41. 41

    וִיהוֹצָדָקVi/ho/tsa/DAKand Jehozadakהָלַךְha/LAKHwentבְּהַגְלוֹתbe/hag/LOTwhen carried awayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudahוִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofנְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּר׃Ne/vu/khad/ne/TSARNebuchadnezzar

    And Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
