   Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand commandedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלִכְנוֹסlikh/NOSto gatherאֶת־הַגֵּרִיםet-hag/ge/RIMthe sojournersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he appointedחֹצְבִיםchots/VIMstonecuttersלַחְצוֹבlach/TSOVto cutאַבְנֵיav/NEstones ofגָזִיתga/ZIThewnלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildבֵּיתbetthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

   וּבַרְזֶלu/var/ZELand ironלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceלַמִּסְמְרִיםlam/mis/me/RIMfor nailsלְדַלְתוֹתle/dal/TOTfor the doors ofהַשְּׁעָרִיםhash/she/a/RIMthe gatesוְלַמְחַבְּרוֹתve/lam/chab/be/ROTand for the clampsהֵכִיןhe/KHINpreparedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוּנְחֹשֶׁתu/ne/CHO/shetand bronzeלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceאֵיןenwithoutמִשְׁקָל׃mish/KALweight

   And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

   וַעֲצֵיva/a/TSEand timbers ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsלְאֵיןle/ENbeyondמִסְפָּרmis/PARnumberכִּי־הֵבִיאוּki-he/VI/ufor broughtהַצִּידֹנִיםhats/Tsi/do/NIMthe Sidoniansוְהַצֹּרִיםve/hats/Tso/RIMand the Tyriansעֲצֵיa/TSEtimbers ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsלָרֹבla/ROVmuchלְדָוִיד׃le/Da/VIDto David

   Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonבְנִיve/NImy sonנַעַרNA/aris youngוָרָךְva/RAKHand tenderוְהַבַּיִתve/hab/BA/yitand the houseלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto be builtלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaifor the LORDלְהַגְדִּילle/hag/DILmust be made greatלְמַעְלָהle/MA/laexceedinglyלְשֵׁםle/SHEMfor fameוּלְתִפְאֶרֶתu/le/tif/E/retand for gloryלְכׇל־הָאֲרָצוֹתle/KHOL-ha/a/ra/TSOTin all the landsאָכִינָהa/KHI/nalet me prepareנָּאnanowלוֹlofor itוַיָּכֶןvay/YA/khenso preparedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלָרֹבla/ROVabundantlyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמוֹתוֹ׃mo/TOhis death

   And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAthen he calledלִשְׁלֹמֹהLish/lo/MOfor Solomonבְנוֹve/NOhis sonוַיְצַוֵּהוּvay/tsav/VE/huand commanded himלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildבַּיִתBA/yita houseלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaifor the LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלִשְׁלֹמֹהLish/lo/MOto Solomon(בנו)vanav[בְּנִי]be/NImy sonאֲנִיa/NIIהָיָהha/YAit wasעִם־לְבָבִיim-le/va/VIin my heartלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildבַּיִתBA/yita houseלְשֵׁםle/SHEMto the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָי׃e/lo/HAYmy God

   And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:

   וַיְהִיvay/HIbut cameעָלַיa/LAYto meדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingדָּםdambloodלָרֹבla/ROVabundantlyשָׁפַכְתָּsha/FAKH/tayou have shedוּמִלְחָמוֹתu/mil/cha/MOTand warsגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatעָשִׂיתָa/SI/tayou have wagedלֹא־תִבְנֶהlo-tiv/NEyou shall not buildבַיִתVA/yita houseלִשְׁמִיlish/MIfor My nameכִּיkiforדָּמִיםda/MIMbloodרַבִּיםrab/BIMmuchשָׁפַכְתָּsha/FAKH/tayou have shedאַרְצָהAR/tsaon the earthלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYin My sight

   But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

   הִנֵּה־בֵןhin/NE-venbehold a sonנוֹלָדno/LADshall be bornלָךְlakhto youהוּאhuheיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beאִישׁisha man ofמְנוּחָהme/nu/CHArestוַהֲנִיחוֹתִיva/ha/ni/CHO/tiand I will give restלוֹloto himמִכׇּל־אוֹיְבָיוmik/KOL-oy/VAYVfrom all his enemiesמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVround aboutכִּיkiforשְׁלֹמֹהShe/lo/MOSolomonיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameוְשָׁלוֹםve/sha/LOMand peaceוָשֶׁקֶטva/SHE/ketand quietnessאֶתֵּןet/TENI will giveעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELto Israelבְּיָמָיו׃be/ya/MAYVin his days

   Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

10. 10

    הוּא־יִבְנֶהhu-yiv/NEhe shall buildבַיִתVA/yita houseלִשְׁמִיlish/MIfor My nameוְהוּאve/HUand heיִהְיֶה־לִּיyih/YE-lishall be to Meלְבֵןle/VENa sonוַאֲנִי־לוֹva/a/NI-loand I to himלְאָבle/AVa fatherוַהֲכִינוֹתִיva/ha/khi/no/TIand I will establishכִּסֵּאkis/SEthe throne ofמַלְכוּתוֹmal/khu/TOhis kingdomעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELover Israelעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMforever

    He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

11. 11

    עַתָּהat/TAnowבְנִיve/NImy sonיְהִיye/HImay beיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith youוְהִצְלַחְתָּve/hits/lach/TAand may you prosperוּבָנִיתָu/va/NI/taand buildבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERHe has spokenעָלֶיךָ׃a/LE/khaconcerning you

    Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.

12. 12

    אַךְakhonlyיִתֶּן־לְךָyit/TEN-le/KHAmay give youיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDשֵׂכֶלSE/khelinsightוּבִינָהu/vi/NAand understandingוִיצַוְּךָvi/tsav/ve/KHAand put you in chargeעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELover Israelוְלִשְׁמוֹרve/lish/MORso that you keepאֶת־תּוֹרַתet-To/RATthe Law ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָ׃e/lo/HE/khayour God

    Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

13. 13

    אָזazthenתַּצְלִיחַtats/LI/achshall you prosperאִם־תִּשְׁמוֹרim-tish/MORif you are carefulלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֶת־הַחֻקִּיםet-ha/chuk/KIMthe statutesוְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםve/ET-ham/mish/pa/TIMand the ordinancesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELconcerning Israelחֲזַקcha/ZAKbe strongוֶאֱמָץve/e/MATSand be courageousאַל־תִּירָאal-ti/RAdo not fearוְאַל־תֵּחָת׃ve/AL-te/CHATand do not be dismayed

    Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

14. 14

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבְעׇנְיִיve/on/YIin my afflictionהֲכִינוֹתִיha/khi/NO/tiI have preparedלְבֵית־יְהֹוָהle/VET-Adonaifor the house of the LORDזָהָבza/HAVgoldכִּכָּרִיםkik/ka/RIMtalentsמֵאָה־אֶלֶףme/A-E/lefa hundred thousandוְכֶסֶףve/KHE/sefand silverאֶלֶףE/lefthousandאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandכִּכָּרִיםkik/ka/RIMtalentsוְלַנְּחֹשֶׁתve/lan/ne/CHO/shetand of bronzeוְלַבַּרְזֶלve/lab/bar/ZELand of ironאֵיןenthere is noמִשְׁקָלmish/KALweightכִּיkiforלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceהָיָהha/YAwasוְעֵצִיםve/e/TSIMand timberוַאֲבָנִיםva/a/va/NIMand stoneהֲכִינוֹתִיha/khi/NO/tiI have preparedוַעֲלֵיהֶםva/a/le/HEMand to themתּוֹסִיף׃to/SIFyou shall add

    Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

15. 15

    וְעִמְּךָve/im/me/KHAand with youלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceעֹשֵׂיo/SEdoers ofמְלָאכָהme/la/KHAworkחֹצְבִיםchots/VIMstonecuttersוְחָרָשֵׁיve/cha/ra/SHEand workers ofאֶבֶןE/venstoneוָעֵץva/ETSand woodוְכׇל־חָכָםve/KHOL-cha/KHAMand every skilled manבְּכׇל־מְלָאכָה׃be/KHOL-me/la/KHAin every work

    Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.

16. 16

    לַזָּהָבlaz/za/HAVof the goldלַכֶּסֶףlak/KE/sefof the silverוְלַנְּחֹשֶׁתve/lan/ne/CHO/shetand of the bronzeוְלַבַּרְזֶלve/lab/bar/ZELand of the ironאֵיןenthere is noמִסְפָּרmis/PARnumberקוּםkumariseוַעֲשֵׂהva/a/SEand doוִיהִיvi/HIand may beיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

    Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

17. 17

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלְכׇל־שָׂרֵיle/KHOL-sa/REall the princes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלַעְזֹרla/ZORto helpלִשְׁלֹמֹהLish/lo/MOSolomonבְנוֹ׃ve/NOhis son

    David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

18. 18

    הֲלֹאha/LOis it notיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youוְהֵנִיחַve/he/NI/achand He has given restלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVround aboutכִּיkiforנָתַןna/TANHe has givenבְּיָדִיbe/ya/DIinto my handאֵת־יֹשְׁבֵיet-yosh/VEthe inhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְנִכְבְּשָׁהve/nikh/be/SHAand is subduedהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeעַמּוֹ׃am/MOHis people

    Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

19. 19

    עַתָּהat/TAnowתְּנוּte/NUsetלְבַבְכֶםle/vav/KHEMyour heartוְנַפְשְׁכֶםve/naf/she/KHEMand your soulלִדְרוֹשׁlid/ROSHto seekלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godוְקוּמוּve/KU/muand ariseוּבְנוּu/ve/NUand buildאֶת־מִקְדַּשׁet-mik/DASHthe sanctuary ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהbe/RIT-Adonaithe covenant of the LORDוּכְלֵיu/khe/LEand the vessels ofקֹדֶשׁKO/deshthe holiness ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַבַּיִתlab/BA/yitinto the houseהַנִּבְנֶהhan/niv/NEthat is to be builtלְשֵׁם־יְהֹוָה׃le/SHEM-Adonaifor the name of the LORD

    Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
