   So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

   וַיֶּאֱסֹףvay/ye/e/SOFand he gatheredאֶת־כׇּל־שָׂרֵיet-kol-sa/REall the princes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםve/hak/ko/ha/NIMand the priestsוְהַלְוִיִּם׃Ve/hal/viy/YIMand the Levites

   And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

   וַיִּסָּפְרוּvay/yis/sa/fe/RUand were countedהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִבֶּןmib/BENfrom a son ofשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוָמָעְלָהva/MA/laand upwardוַיְהִיvay/HIand wasמִסְפָּרָםmis/pa/RAMtheir numberלְגֻלְגְּלֹתָםle/gul/ge/lo/TAMby their headsלִגְבָרִיםlig/va/RIMof menשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyוּשְׁמוֹנָהu/she/mo/NAand eightאָלֶף׃A/lefthousand

   Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.

   Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:

   Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.

   וַיֶּחָלְקֵםvay/ye/cha/le/KEMand divided themדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidמַחְלְקוֹתmach/le/KOTinto divisionsלִבְנֵיliv/NEof the sons ofלֵוִיLe/VILeviלְגֵרְשׁוֹןLe/ger/SHONGershonקְהָתKe/HATKohathוּמְרָרִי׃u/Me/ra/RIand Merari

   And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

   לַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּיlag/Ger/shun/NIof the GershonitesלַעְדָּןLa/DANLaadanוְשִׁמְעִי׃ve/Shim/Iand Shimei

   Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei.

8. 8

   בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofלַעְדָּןLa/DANLaadanהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefיְחִיאֵלYe/chi/ELJehielוְזֵתָםve/Ze/TAMand Zethamוְיוֹאֵלve/Yo/ELand Joelשְׁלֹשָׁה׃she/lo/SHAthree

   The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

   בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofשִׁמְעִיShim/IShimei(שלמות)shalamavat[שְׁלֹמִית]She/lo/MITShelomithוַחֲזִיאֵלva/Cha/zi/ELand Hazielוְהָרָןve/Ha/RANand Haranשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeאֵלֶּהEL/letheseרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלְלַעְדָּן׃le/La/DANof Laadan

   The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief of the fathers of Laadan.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofשִׁמְעִיShim/IShimeiיַחַתYA/chatJahathזִינָאZi/NAZinaוִיעוּשׁVi/USHand Jeushוּבְרִיעָהu/ve/Ri/Aand BeriahאֵלֶּהEL/letheseבְנֵי־שִׁמְעִיve/NE-shim/Ithe sons of Shimeiאַרְבָּעָה׃ar/ba/Afour

    And the sons of Shimei were, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.

    וַיְהִי־יַחַתvay/HI-YA/chatand Jahath wasהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefוְזִיזָהve/Zi/ZAand Zizahהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondוִיעוּשׁVi/USHand Jeushוּבְרִיעָהu/ve/Ri/Aand Beriahלֹא־הִרְבּוּlo-hir/BUdid not have manyבָנִיםva/NIMsonsוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUso they becameלְבֵיתle/VETa house ofאָבavfatherלִפְקֻדָּהlif/kud/DAfor countingאֶחָת׃e/CHATone

    And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to their father's house.

    The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofעַמְרָםAm/RAMAmramאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוּמֹשֶׁהu/Mo/SHEand Mosesוַיִּבָּדֵלvay/yib/ba/DELand was set apartאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronלְהַקְדִּישׁוֹle/hak/di/SHOto sanctify itקֹדֶשׁKO/deshthe holy ofקׇדָשִׁיםko/da/SHIMholiesהוּא־וּבָנָיוhu-u/va/NAYVhe and his sonsעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverלְהַקְטִירle/hak/TIRto burn incenseלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְשׇׁרְתוֹle/shor/TOto minister to Himוּלְבָרֵךְu/le/va/REKHand to blessבִּשְׁמוֹbish/MOin His nameעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMforever

    The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.

    וּמֹשֶׁהu/Mo/SHEand Mosesאִישׁishthe man ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבָּנָיוba/NAYVhis sonsיִקָּרְאוּyik/ka/re/Uwere namedעַל־שֵׁבֶטal-SHE/vetamong the tribe ofהַלֵּוִי׃Hal/le/VILevi

    Now concerning Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesגֵּרְשׁוֹםGer/SHOMGershomוֶאֱלִיעֶזֶר׃Ve/e/li/E/zerand Eliezer

    The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eliezer.

16. 16

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofגֵרְשׁוֹםGer/SHOMGershomשְׁבוּאֵלShe/vu/ELShebuelהָרֹאשׁ׃ha/ROSHthe chief

    Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.

17. 17

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereבְנֵי־אֱלִיעֶזֶרve/NE-e/li/E/zerthe sons of EliezerרְחַבְיָהRe/chav/YARehabiahהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefוְלֹא־הָיָהve/LO-HA/yaand there were noלֶאֱלִיעֶזֶרLe/e/li/E/zerfor Eliezerבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofרְחַבְיָהRe/chav/YARehabiahרָבוּra/VUwere manyלְמָעְלָה׃le/MA/laexceedingly

    And the sons of Eliezer were, Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיִצְהָרYits/HARIzharשְׁלֹמִיתShe/lo/MITShelomithהָרֹאשׁ׃ha/ROSHthe chief

    Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.

19. 19

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofחֶבְרוֹןChev/RONHebronיְרִיָּהוּYe/riy/YA/huJeriahהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefאֲמַרְיָהA/mar/YAAmariahהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondיַחֲזִיאֵלYa/cha/zi/ELJahazielהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthe thirdוִיקַמְעָםVi/kam/AMand Jekameamהָרְבִיעִי׃ha/re/vi/Ithe fourth

    Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofעֻזִּיאֵלUz/zi/ELUzzielמִיכָהMi/KHAMicahהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe chiefוְיִשִּׁיָּהve/Yish/shiy/YAand Isshiahהַשֵּׁנִי׃hash/she/NIthe second

    Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah the first, and Jesiah the second.

21. 21

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofמְרָרִיMe/ra/RIMerariמַחְלִיMach/LIMahliוּמוּשִׁיu/Mu/SHIand Mushiבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofמַחְלִיMach/LIMahliאֶלְעָזָרEl/a/ZAREleazarוְקִישׁ׃ve/KISHand Kish

    The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.

22. 22

    וַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedאֶלְעָזָרEl/a/ZAREleazarוְלֹא־הָיוּve/LO-HA/yuand there were noלוֹlofor himבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsכִּיkibutאִם־בָּנוֹתim-ba/NOTonly daughtersוַיִּשָּׂאוּםvay/yis/sa/UMand took themבְּנֵי־קִישׁbe/NE-kishthe sons of Kishאֲחֵיהֶם׃a/che/HEMtheir brothers

    And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.

    בְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofמוּשִׁיMu/SHIMushiמַחְלִיMach/LIMahliוְעֵדֶרve/E/derand EderוִירֵמוֹתVi/re/MOTand Jeremothשְׁלוֹשָׁה׃she/lo/SHAthree

    The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.

24. 24

    אֵלֶּהEL/letheseבְנֵי־לֵוִיve/NE-le/VIthe sons of Leviלְבֵיתle/VETby the house ofאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלִפְקוּדֵיהֶםlif/ku/de/HEMby their countingבְּמִסְפַּרbe/mis/PARin the number ofשֵׁמוֹתshe/MOTnamesלְגֻלְגְּלֹתָםle/gul/ge/lo/TAMby their headsעֹשֵׂהo/SEdoingהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workלַעֲבֹדַתla/a/vo/DATfor the service ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִבֶּןmib/BENfrom a son ofעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוָמָעְלָה׃va/MA/laand upward

    These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.

    כִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARsaidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidהֵנִיחַhe/NI/achhas given restיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלe/lo/HE-Yis/ra/ELthe God of Israelלְעַמּוֹle/am/MOfor His peopleוַיִּשְׁכֹּןvay/yish/KONand He dwellsבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemעַד־לְעוֹלָם׃ad-le/o/LAMforever

    For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:

26. 26

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMthe Levitesאֵין־לָשֵׂאתen-la/SETneed not carryאֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּןet-ham/mish/KANthe tabernacleוְאֶת־כׇּל־כֵּלָיוve/ET-kol-ke/LAYVor all its vesselsלַעֲבֹדָתוֹ׃la/a/vo/da/TOfor its service

    And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.

27. 27

    כִּיkiforבְדִבְרֵיve/div/REby the words ofדָוִידDa/VIDDavidהָאַחֲרוֹנִיםha/a/cha/ro/NIMlastהֵמָּהHEM/mathis wasמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe number ofבְּנֵי־לֵוִיbe/NE-le/VIthe sons of Leviמִבֶּןmib/BENfrom a son ofעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוּלְמָעְלָה׃u/le/MA/laand upward

    For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

28. 28

    כִּיkiforמַעֲמָדָםma/a/ma/DAMtheir place wasלְיַד־בְּנֵיle/YAD-be/NEat the hand of the sons ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronלַעֲבֹדַתla/a/vo/DATfor the service ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־הַחֲצֵרוֹתal-ha/cha/tse/ROTover the courtsוְעַל־הַלְּשָׁכוֹתve/AL-hal/le/sha/KHOTand over the chambersוְעַל־טׇהֳרַתve/AL-to/ho/RATand over the purifying ofלְכׇל־קֹדֶשׁle/KHOL-KO/deshevery holy thingוּמַעֲשֵׂהu/ma/a/SEand the work ofעֲבֹדַתa/vo/DATthe service ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

29. 29

    וּלְלֶחֶםu/le/LE/chemand for the bread ofהַמַּעֲרֶכֶתham/ma/a/RE/khetthe arrangementוּלְסֹלֶתu/le/SO/letand for the fine flourלְמִנְחָהle/min/CHAfor grain offeringוְלִרְקִיקֵיve/lir/ki/KEand for the wafers ofהַמַּצּוֹתham/mats/TSOTunleavened breadוְלַמַּחֲבַתve/lam/ma/cha/VATand for the griddleוְלַמֻּרְבָּכֶתve/lam/mur/BA/khetand for what is mixedוּלְכׇל־מְשׂוּרָהu/le/KHOL-me/su/RAand for all measures of quantityוּמִדָּה׃u/mid/DAand size

    Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;

30. 30

    וְלַעֲמֹדve/la/a/MODand to standבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerby morningלְהֹדוֹתle/ho/DOTto give thanksוּלְהַלֵּלu/le/hal/LELand to praiseלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוְכֵןve/KHENand soלָעָרֶב׃la/A/revat evening

    And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;

31. 31

    וּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLand for everyהַעֲלוֹתha/a/LOToffering ofעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDלַשַּׁבָּתוֹתlash/shab/ba/TOTfor the sabbathsלֶחֳדָשִׁיםle/cho/da/SHIMfor the new moonsוְלַמֹּעֲדִיםve/lam/mo/a/DIMand for the appointed feastsבְּמִסְפָּרbe/mis/PARby numberכְּמִשְׁפָּטke/mish/PATaccording to the ordinanceעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMconcerning themתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:

32. 32

    וְשָׁמְרוּve/sha/me/RUand they shall keepאֶת־מִשְׁמֶרֶתet-mish/ME/retthe charge ofאֹהֶל־מוֹעֵדO/hel-mo/EDthe tent of meetingוְאֵתve/ETandמִשְׁמֶרֶתmish/ME/retthe charge ofהַקֹּדֶשׁhak/KO/deshthe holy placeוּמִשְׁמֶרֶתu/mish/ME/retand the charge ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMtheir brothersלַעֲבֹדַתla/a/vo/DATfor the service ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
