   And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־עֲטֶרֶת־מַלְכָּםet-a/TE/ret-mal/KAMthe crown of their kingמֵעַלme/ALfromרֹאשׁוֹro/SHOhis headוַיִּמְצָאָהּvay/yim/tsa/Aand found itמִשְׁקַלmish/KALthe weight ofכִּכַּר־זָהָבkik/KAR-za/HAVa talent of goldוּבָהּu/VAand in it wasאֶבֶןE/venstoneיְקָרָהye/ka/RApreciousוַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand it wasעַל־רֹאשׁal-roshon the head ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוּשְׁלַלu/she/LALand the spoil ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityהוֹצִיאho/TSIhe brought outהַרְבֵּהhar/BEveryמְאֹד׃me/ODmuch

   And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.

   וְאֶת־הָעָםve/ET-ha/AMand the peopleאֲשֶׁר־בָּהּa/SHER-bawho were in itהוֹצִיאho/TSIhe brought outוַיָּשַׂרvay/YA/sarand cutבַּמְּגֵרָהbam/me/ge/RAwith the sawוּבַחֲרִיצֵיu/va/cha/ri/TSEand with picks ofהַבַּרְזֶלhab/bar/ZELironוּבַמְּגֵרוֹתu/vam/me/ge/ROTand with sawsוְכֵןve/KHENand soיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEdidדָוִידDa/VIDDavidלְכֹלle/KHOLto allעָרֵיa/REthe cities ofבְנֵי־עַמּוֹןve/NE-am/MONthe children of Ammonוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafter thisוַתַּעֲמֹדvat/ta/a/MODthat aroseמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarבְּגֶזֶרbe/GE/zerat Gezerעִם־פְּלִשְׁתִּיםim-Pe/lish/TIMwith the Philistinesאָזazthenהִכָּהhik/KAstruckסִבְּכַיSib/be/KHAYSibbechaiהַחֻשָׁתִיha/Chu/sha/TIthe Hushathiteאֶת־סִפַּיet-Sip/PAYSippaiמִילִידֵיmi/li/DEof the descendants ofהָרְפָאִיםha/Re/fa/IMthe Rephaimוַיִּכָּנֵעוּ׃vay/yik/ka/NE/uand they were subdued

   And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.

   וַתְּהִי־עוֹדvat/te/HI-odand there was againמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarאֶת־פְּלִשְׁתִּיםet-Pe/lish/TIMwith the Philistinesוַיַּךְvay/YAKHand he struckאֶלְחָנָןEl/cha/NANElhananבֶּן־[יָעִיר]ben-Ya/IRthe son of Jair(יעור)yvarאֶת־לַחְמִיet-Lach/MILahmiאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofגׇּלְיָתGol/YATGoliathהַגִּתִּיhag/Git/TIthe Gittiteוְעֵץve/ETSand the shaft ofחֲנִיתוֹcha/ni/TOhis spearכִּמְנוֹרkim/NORlike the beam ofאֹרְגִים׃or/GIMweavers

   And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.

   וַתְּהִי־עוֹדvat/te/HI-odand there was againמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarבְּגַתbe/GATin Gathוַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasאִישׁisha man ofמִדָּהmid/DAstatureוְאֶצְבְּעֹתָיוve/ets/be/o/TAYVand his fingersשֵׁשׁ־וָשֵׁשׁshesh-va/SHESHsix and sixעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyוְאַרְבַּעve/ar/BAand fourוְגַם־הוּאve/GAM-huand he alsoנוֹלַדno/LADwas bornלְהָרָפָא׃le/Ha/ra/FAto the Raphah

   And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.

   וַיְחָרֵףvay/cha/REFand when he tauntedאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/hustruck himיְהוֹנָתָןYe/ho/na/TANJonathanבֶּן־שִׁמְעָאben-Shim/Athe son of Shimeaאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofדָוִיד׃Da/VIDDavid

   But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.

   אֵלeltheseנוּלְּדוּnul/le/DUwere bornלְהָרָפָאle/Ha/ra/FAto the Raphahבְּגַתbe/GATin Gathוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand they fellבְיַד־דָּוִידve/YAD-da/VIDby the hand of Davidוּבְיַד־עֲבָדָיו׃u/ve/YAD-a/va/DAYVand by the hand of his servants

   These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
