   And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

   אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARsaidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלֹאlono oneלָשֵׂאתla/SETis to carryאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּיkiexceptאִם־הַלְוִיִּםim-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesכִּי־בָםki-vamfor themבָּחַרba/CHARhas chosenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָשֵׂאתla/SETto carryאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּלְשָׁרְתוֹu/le/sha/re/TOand to minister to Himעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMforever

   Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

   וַיַּקְהֵלvay/yak/HELand assembledדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Kol-yis/ra/ELall Israelאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםel-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto bring upאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מְקוֹמוֹel-me/ko/MOto its placeאֲשֶׁר־הֵכִיןa/SHER-he/KHINthat he had preparedלוֹ׃lofor it

   And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

   וַיֶּאֱסֹףvay/ye/e/SOFand gatheredדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוְאֶת־הַלְוִיִּם׃ve/ET-hal/viy/YIMand the Levites

   And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

   Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

   Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:

   Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:

    Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledדָוִידDa/VIDDavidלְצָדוֹקle/Tsa/DOKfor Zadokוּלְאֶבְיָתָרu/Le/ev/ya/TARand for Abiatharהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְלַלְוִיִּםve/Lal/viy/YIMand for the Levitesלְאוּרִיאֵלle/U/ri/ELfor UrielעֲשָׂיָהA/sa/YAAsaiahוְיוֹאֵלve/Yo/ELand JoelשְׁמַעְיָהShe/ma/YAShemaiahוֶאֱלִיאֵלVe/e/li/ELand Elielוְעַמִּינָדָב׃ve/Am/mi/na/DAVand Amminadab

    And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMof the Levitesהִתְקַדְּשׁוּhit/kad/de/SHUsanctify yourselvesאַתֶּםat/TEMyouוַאֲחֵיכֶםva/a/che/KHEMand your brothersוְהַעֲלִיתֶםve/ha/a/li/TEMand bring upאֵת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶל־הֲכִינוֹתִיel-ha/khi/NO/tito what I have preparedלוֹ׃lofor it

    And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

13. 13

    כִּיkiforלְמַבָּרִאשׁוֹנָהle/mab/ba/ri/sho/NAbecause at the firstלֹאlonotאַתֶּםat/TEMyou were thereפָּרַץpa/RATSbroke outיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour GodבָּנוּBA/nuagainst usכִּי־לֹאki-lofor notדְרַשְׁנֻהוּde/rash/NU/huwe sought Himכַּמִּשְׁפָּט׃kam/mish/PATaccording to the ordinance

    For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

14. 14

    וַיִּתְקַדְּשׁוּvay/yit/kad/de/SHUso sanctified themselvesהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto bring upאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.

15. 15

    וַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand carriedבְנֵי־הַלְוִיִּםve/NE-hal/viy/YIMthe sons of the Levitesאֵת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבִּכְתֵפָםbikh/te/FAMon their shouldersבַּמֹּטוֹתbam/mo/TOTwith the polesעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMon them

    And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלְשָׂרֵיle/sa/REto the chiefs ofהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלְהַעֲמִידle/ha/a/MIDto appointאֶת־אֲחֵיהֶםet-a/che/HEMtheir brothersהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםham/shor/RIMthe singersבִּכְלֵי־שִׁירbikh/LE-shirwith instruments of musicנְבָלִיםne/va/LIMharpsוְכִנֹּרוֹתve/khin/no/ROTand lyresוּמְצִלְתָּיִםu/me/tsil/TA/yimand cymbalsמַשְׁמִיעִיםmash/mi/IMsounding aloudלְהָרִים־בְּקוֹלle/ha/RIM-be/KOLraising the voiceלְשִׂמְחָה׃le/sim/CHAin joy

    And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

    וַיַּעֲמִידוּvay/ya/a/MI/duso appointedהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesאֵת־הֵימָןet-He/MANHemanבֶּן־יוֹאֵלben-Yo/ELthe son of Joelוּמִן־אֶחָיוu/MIN-e/CHAYVand of his brothersאָסָףA/SAFAsaphבֶּן־בֶּרֶכְיָהוּben-Be/rekh/YA/huthe son of Berechiahוּמִן־בְּנֵיu/MIN-be/NEand of the sons ofמְרָרִיMe/ra/RIMerariאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMtheir brothersאֵיתָןE/TANEthanבֶּן־קוּשָׁיָהוּ׃ben-Ku/sha/YA/huthe son of Kushaiah

    So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

18. 18

    וְעִמָּהֶםve/im/ma/HEMand with themאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMtheir brothersהַמִּשְׁנִיםham/mish/NIMof the second rankזְכַרְיָהוּZe/khar/YA/huZechariahבֵּןBenBenוְיַעֲזִיאֵלve/Ya/a/zi/ELand Jaazielוּשְׁמִירָמוֹתu/She/mi/ra/MOTand ShemiramothוִיחִיאֵלVi/chi/ELand Jehielוְעֻנִּיve/Un/NIand UnniאֱלִיאָבE/li/AVEliabוּבְנָיָהוּu/ve/Na/YA/huand Benaiahוּמַעֲשֵׂיָהוּu/Ma/a/se/YA/huand Maaseiahוּמַתִּתְיָהוּu/Mat/tit/YA/huand MattithiahוֶאֱלִיפְלֵהוּVe/e/li/fe/LE/huand Eliphelehוּמִקְנֵיָהוּu/Mik/ne/YA/huand Mikneiahוְעֹבֵדve/O/VEDand Obed-אֱדֹםe/DOMedomוִיעִיאֵלVi/i/ELand Jeielהַשֹּׁעֲרִים׃hash/sho/a/RIMthe gatekeepers

    And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.

19. 19

    וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםve/ham/shor/RIMand the singersהֵימָןHe/MANHemanאָסָףA/SAFAsaphוְאֵיתָןve/E/TANand Ethanבִּמְצִלְתַּיִםbim/tsil/TA/yimwith cymbals ofנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeלְהַשְׁמִיעַ׃le/hash/MI/ato sound

    So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

20. 20

    וּזְכַרְיָהu/Ze/khar/YAand Zechariahוַעֲזִיאֵלva/A/zi/ELand Azielוּשְׁמִירָמוֹתu/She/mi/ra/MOTand ShemiramothוִיחִיאֵלVi/chi/ELand Jehielוְעֻנִּיve/Un/NIand UnniוֶאֱלִיאָבVe/e/li/AVand Eliabוּמַעֲשֵׂיָהוּu/Ma/a/se/YA/huand Maaseiahוּבְנָיָהוּu/ve/Na/YA/huand Benaiahבִּנְבָלִיםbin/va/LIMwith harpsעַל־עֲלָמוֹת׃al-A/la/MOTon Alamoth

    And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

21. 21

    וּמַתִּתְיָהוּu/Mat/tit/YA/huand MattithiahוֶאֱלִיפְלֵהוּVe/e/li/fe/LE/huand Eliphelehוּמִקְנֵיָהוּu/Mik/ne/YA/huand Mikneiahוְעֹבֵדve/O/VEDand Obed-אֱדֹםe/DOMedomוִיעִיאֵלVi/i/ELand Jeielוַעֲזַזְיָהוּva/A/zaz/YA/huand Azaziahבְּכִנֹּרוֹתbe/khin/no/ROTwith lyresעַל־הַשְּׁמִינִיתal-Hash/she/mi/NITon the Sheminithלְנַצֵּחַ׃le/nats/TSE/achto lead

    And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

22. 22

    וּכְנַנְיָהוּu/Khe/nan/YA/huand Chenaniahשַׂר־הַלְוִיִּםsar-Hal/viy/YIMthe chief of the Levitesבְּמַשָּׂאbe/mas/SAin the carryingיָסֹרya/SORhe instructedבַּמַּשָּׂאbam/mas/SAin the carryingכִּיkibecauseמֵבִיןme/VINskilledהוּא׃huwas he

    And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

23. 23

    וּבֶרֶכְיָהu/Ve/rekh/YAand Berechiahוְאֶלְקָנָהve/El/ka/NAand Elkanahשֹׁעֲרִיםsho/a/RIMgatekeepersלָאָרוֹן׃la/a/RONof the ark

    And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

24. 24

    וּשְׁבַנְיָהוּu/She/van/YA/huand Shebaniahוְיוֹשָׁפָטve/Yo/sha/FATand Joshaphatוּנְתַנְאֵלu/Ne/tan/ELand Nethaneelוַעֲמָשַׂיva/A/ma/SAYand Amasaiוּזְכַרְיָהוּu/Ze/khar/YA/huand Zechariahוּבְנָיָהוּu/ve/Na/YA/huand BenaiahוֶאֱלִיעֶזֶרVe/e/li/E/zerand Eliezerהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priests(מחצצרים)machatsatsarayam[מַחְצְרִים]mach/tse/RIMwere blowingבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתba/cha/tsots/ROTthe trumpetsלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֲרוֹןa/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְעֹבֵדve/O/VEDand Obed-אֱדֹםe/DOMedomוִיחִיָּהVi/chiy/YAand Jehiahשֹׁעֲרִיםsho/a/RIMgatekeepersלָאָרוֹן׃la/a/RONof the ark

    And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

25. 25

    וַיְהִיvay/HIso it wasדָוִידDa/VIDDavidוְזִקְנֵיve/zik/NEand the elders ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand the commanders ofהָאֲלָפִיםha/a/la/FIMthe thousandsהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho wentלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto bring upאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהbe/RIT-Adonaithe covenant of the LORDמִן־בֵּיתmin-betfrom the house ofעֹבֵד־אֱדֹםO/VED-e/DOMObed-edomבְּשִׂמְחָה׃be/sim/CHAwith joy

    So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

26. 26

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבֶּעְזֹרbe/ZORwhen helpedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesנֹשְׂאֵיnos/Ewho carriedאֲרוֹןa/RONthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהbe/RIT-Adonaithe covenant of the LORDוַיִּזְבְּחוּvay/yiz/be/CHUthat they sacrificedשִׁבְעָה־פָרִיםshiv/A-fa/RIMseven bullsוְשִׁבְעָהve/shiv/Aand sevenאֵילִים׃e/LIMrams

    And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

27. 27

    וְדָוִידve/Da/VIDand Davidמְכֻרְבָּלme/khur/BALwas clothedבִּמְעִילbim/ILin a robe ofבּוּץbutsfine linenוְכׇל־הַלְוִיִּםve/KHOL-hal/viy/YIMand all the Levitesהַנֹּשְׂאִיםhan/nos/IMwho boreאֶת־הָאָרוֹןet-ha/a/RONthe arkוְהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםve/ham/shor/RIMand the singersוּכְנַנְיָהu/Khe/nan/YAand Chenaniahהַשַּׂרhas/SARthe leader ofהַמַּשָּׂאham/mas/SAthe carryingהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםham/shor/RIMof the singersוְעַל־דָּוִידve/AL-da/VIDand on David wasאֵפוֹדe/FODan ephodבָּד׃badlinen

    And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

28. 28

    וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelמַעֲלִיםma/a/LIMwere bringing upאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofבְּרִית־יְהֹוָהbe/RIT-Adonaithe covenant of the LORDבִּתְרוּעָהbit/ru/Awith shoutingוּבְקוֹלu/ve/KOLand with the sound ofשׁוֹפָרsho/FARthe trumpetוּבַחֲצֹצְרוֹתu/va/cha/tsots/ROTand with trumpetsוּבִמְצִלְתָּיִםu/vim/tsil/TA/yimand with cymbalsמַשְׁמִעִיםmash/mi/IMsounding aloudבִּנְבָלִיםbin/va/LIMwith harpsוְכִנֹּרוֹת׃ve/khin/no/ROTand lyres

    Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

29. 29

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאֲרוֹןa/RONthe ark ofבְּרִיתbe/RITthe covenant ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבָּאbaas cameעַד־עִירad-irto the city ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוּמִיכַלu/Mi/KHALand Michalבַּת־שָׁאוּלbat-Sha/ULthe daughter of Saulנִשְׁקְפָהnish/ke/FAlooked downבְּעַדbe/ADthroughהַחַלּוֹןha/chal/LONthe windowוַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand sawאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-Ham/ME/lekhKingדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidמְרַקֵּדme/rak/KEDdancingוּמְשַׂחֵקu/me/sa/CHEKand celebratingוַתִּבֶזvat/TI/vezand she despisedלוֹlohimבְּלִבָּהּ׃be/lib/BAin her heart

    And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
