   וַיִּשְׁלַחand-sent(חירם)[חוּרָם]Huramמֶלֶךְ־צֹרking-of-Tyreמַלְאָכִיםmessengersאֶל־דָּוִידto-Davidוַעֲצֵיand-timber-ofאֲרָזִיםcedarsוְחָרָשֵׁיand-craftsmen-ofקִירwallוְחָרָשֵׁיand-craftsmen-ofעֵצִיםwoodלִבְנוֹתto-buildלוֹto-himבָּיִת׃a-house

   Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

   וַיֵּדַעand-knewדָּוִידDavidכִּי־הֱכִינוֹthat-had-confirmed-himיְהֹוָהthe-LORDלְמֶלֶךְkingעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלupon-Israelכִּי־נִשֵּׂאתfor-was-exaltedלְמַעְלָהhighlyמַלְכוּתוֹhis-kingdomבַּעֲבוּרfor-the-sake-ofעַמּוֹhis-peopleיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

   וַיִּקַּחand-tookדָּוִידDavidעוֹדmoreנָשִׁיםwomenבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםin-Jerusalemוַיּוֹלֶדand-begatדָּוִידDavidעוֹדmoreבָּנִיםsonsוּבָנוֹת׃and-daughters

   And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

   וְאֵלֶּהand-theseשְׁמוֹתthe-names-ofהַיְלוּדִיםhis-childrenאֲשֶׁרwhichהָיוּ־לוֹwhom-he-hadבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםin-JerusalemשַׁמּוּעַShammuaוְשׁוֹבָבand-ShobabנָתָןNathanוּשְׁלֹמֹה׃and-Solomon

   Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

   וְיִבְחָרand-Ibharוֶאֱלִישׁוּעַand-Elishuaוְאֶלְפָּלֶט׃and-Elpelet

   And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

   וְנֹגַהּand-Nogahוְנֶפֶגand-Nephegוְיָפִיעַ׃and-Japhia

   And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

   וֶאֱלִישָׁמָעand-Elishamaוּבְעֶלְיָדָעand-Beeliadaוֶאֱלִיפָלֶט׃and-Eliphelet

   And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

   וַיִּשְׁמְעוּand-they-heardפְלִשְׁתִּיםthe-Philistinesכִּי־נִמְשַׁחbecause-was-anointedדָּוִידDavidלְמֶלֶךְkingעַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלupon-all-Israelוַיַּעֲלוּand-they-ascendedכׇל־פְּלִשְׁתִּיםall-Philistinesלְבַקֵּשׁto-seekאֶת־דָּוִידDavidוַיִּשְׁמַעand-heardדָּוִידDavidוַיֵּצֵאand-went-outלִפְנֵיהֶם׃against-them

   And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

   וּפְלִשְׁתִּיםand-Philistinesבָּאוּcameוַיִּפְשְׁטוּand-made-a-raidבְּעֵמֶקin-the-valley-ofרְפָאִים׃Rephaim

   And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

10. 10

    וַיִּשְׁאַלand-askedדָּוִידDavidבֵּאלֹהִיםin-Godלֵאמֹרsayingהַאֶעֱלֶהshall-I-go-upעַל־[פְּלִשְׁתִּים]upon-the-Philistines(פלשתיים)וּנְתַתָּםand-will-you-deliver-themבְּיָדִיby-my-handוַיֹּאמֶרand-saidלוֹto-himיְהֹוָהthe-LORDעֲלֵהgo-upוּנְתַתִּיםfor-I-will-deliver-themבְּיָדֶךָ׃into-your-hand

    And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

    וַיַּעֲלוּso-they-came-upבְּבַעַל־פְּרָצִיםat-Baal-Perazimוַיַּכֵּםand-he-smote-themשָׁםthereדָּוִידDavidוַיֹּאמֶרand-saidדָּוִידDavidפָּרַץhas-broken-throughהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godאֶת־אוֹיְבַיmy-enemiesבְּיָדִיby-my-handכְּפֶרֶץlike-a-bursting-flood-ofמָיִםwaterעַל־כֵּןthereforeקָרְאוּthey-calledשֵׁם־הַמָּקוֹםname-of-the-placeהַהוּאthatבַּעַלBaal-פְּרָצִים׃perazim

    So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

    וַיַּעַזְבוּand-they-leftשָׁםthereאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםtheir-godsוַיֹּאמֶרand-gave-commandדָּוִידDavidוַיִּשָּׂרְפוּthat-they-should-be-burnedבָּאֵשׁ׃by-fire

    And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

13. 13

    וַיֹּסִיפוּand-yetעוֹדagainפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPhilistinesוַיִּפְשְׁטוּmade-a-raidבָּעֵמֶק׃in-the-valley

    And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

14. 14

    וַיִּשְׁאַלand-askedעוֹדagainדָּוִידDavidבֵּאלֹהִיםin-Godוַיֹּאמֶרand-saidלוֹto-himהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godלֹאnotתַעֲלֶהyou-will-ascendאַחֲרֵיהֶםafter-themהָסֵבturn-awayמֵעֲלֵיהֶםfrom-off-themוּבָאתָand-you-shall-comeלָהֶםto-themמִמּוּלoppositeהַבְּכָאִים׃the-bakha-trees

    Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

15. 15

    וִיהִיand-let-it-beכְּשׇׁמְעֲךָwhen-you-shall-hearאֶת־קוֹלa-sound-ofהַצְּעָדָהthe-marchingבְּרָאשֵׁיin-the-tops-ofהַבְּכָאִיםthe-bakha-treesאָזthenתֵּצֵאyou-shall-go-outבַמִּלְחָמָהto-battleכִּי־יָצָאfor-has-gone-outהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godלְפָנֶיךָbefore-youלְהַכּוֹתto-smiteאֶת־מַחֲנֵהthe-camp-ofפְלִשְׁתִּים׃the-Philistines

    And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

16. 16

    וַיַּעַשׂand-didדָּוִידDavidכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהוּhad-commanded-himהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godוַיַּכּוּand-they-struckאֶת־מַחֲנֵהthe-camp-ofפְלִשְׁתִּיםthe-Philistinesמִגִּבְעוֹןfrom-Gibeonוְעַד־גָּזְרָה׃as-far-as-Gezer

    David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

17. 17

    וַיֵּצֵאand-went-outשֵׁם־דָּוִידDavid's-renownבְּכׇל־הָאֲרָצוֹתin-all-the-landsוַיהֹוָהand-the-LORDנָתַןbroughtאֶת־פַּחְדּוֹthe-fear-of-himעַל־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם׃upon-all-the-nations

    And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
