   וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sent(חירם)chayaram[חוּרָם]Chu/RAMHuramמֶלֶךְ־צֹרME/lekh-Tsorthe king of Tyreמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersאֶל־דָּוִידel-Da/VIDto Davidוַעֲצֵיva/a/TSEand timber ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsוְחָרָשֵׁיve/cha/ra/SHEand workers ofקִירkirwallוְחָרָשֵׁיve/cha/ra/SHEand workers ofעֵצִיםe/TSIMwoodלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto buildלוֹlofor himבָּיִת׃BA/yita house

   Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

   וַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidכִּי־הֱכִינוֹki-he/khi/NOthat had established himיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhkingעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELover Israelכִּי־נִשֵּׂאתki-nis/SETfor was exaltedלְמַעְלָהle/MA/lahighlyמַלְכוּתוֹmal/khu/TOhis kingdomבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofעַמּוֹam/MOhis peopleיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidעוֹדodmoreנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwivesבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוַיּוֹלֶדvay/YO/ledand begatדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidעוֹדodmoreבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsוּבָנוֹת׃u/va/NOTand daughters

   And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

   וְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseשְׁמוֹתshe/MOTthe names ofהַיְלוּדִיםhay/lu/DIMthe children bornאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהָיוּ־לוֹha/YU-lohe hadבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin JerusalemשַׁמּוּעַSham/MU/aShammuaוְשׁוֹבָבve/Sho/VAVand ShobabנָתָןNa/TANNathanוּשְׁלֹמֹה׃u/She/lo/MOand Solomon

   Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

   וְיִבְחָרve/Yiv/CHARand IbharוֶאֱלִישׁוּעַVe/e/li/SHU/aand Elishuaוְאֶלְפָּלֶט׃ve/El/PA/letand Elpelet

   And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

6. 6

   וְנֹגַהּve/NO/gaand Nogahוְנֶפֶגve/NE/fegand Nephegוְיָפִיעַ׃ve/Ya/FI/aand Japhia

   And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

7. 7

   וֶאֱלִישָׁמָעVe/e/li/sha/MAand Elishamaוּבְעֶלְיָדָעu/ve/El/ya/DAand Beeliadaוֶאֱלִיפָלֶט׃Ve/e/li/FA/letand Eliphelet

   And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

   וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they heardפְלִשְׁתִּיםFe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesכִּי־נִמְשַׁחki-nim/SHACHthat had been anointedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhkingעַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Kol-yis/ra/ELover all Israelוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUthen came upכׇל־פְּלִשְׁתִּיםkhol-Pe/lish/TIMall the Philistinesלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־דָּוִידet-Da/VIDDavidוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outלִפְנֵיהֶם׃lif/ne/HEMagainst them

   And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

   וּפְלִשְׁתִּיםu/Fe/lish/TIMand the PhilistinesבָּאוּBA/ucameוַיִּפְשְׁטוּvay/yif/she/TUand raidedבְּעֵמֶקbe/E/mekin the valley ofרְפָאִים׃Re/fa/IMRephaim

   And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

    וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand inquiredדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMof Godלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַאֶעֱלֶהha/e/e/LEshall I go upעַל־[פְּלִשְׁתִּים]al-Pe/lish/TIMagainst the Philistines(פלשתיים)falashatayayamוּנְתַתָּםu/ne/tat/TAMand will You give themבְּיָדִיbe/ya/DIinto my handוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵהa/LEgo upוּנְתַתִּיםu/ne/tat/TIMand I will give themבְּיָדֶךָ׃be/ya/DE/khainto your hand

    And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

    וַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUso they came upבְּבַעַל־פְּרָצִיםbe/VA/al-pe/ra/TSIMto Baal-perazimוַיַּכֵּםvay/yak/KEMand struck themשָׁםshamthereדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidפָּרַץpa/RATShas broken throughהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־אוֹיְבַיet-oy/VAYmy enemiesבְּיָדִיbe/ya/DIby my handכְּפֶרֶץke/FE/retslike the breaking through ofמָיִםMA/yimwatersעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeקָרְאוּka/re/Uthey calledשֵׁם־הַמָּקוֹםshem-ham/ma/KOMthe name of the placeהַהוּאha/HUthatבַּעַלBA/alBaal-פְּרָצִים׃pe/ra/TSIMperazim

    So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

12. 12

    וַיַּעַזְבוּvay/ya/az/VUand they leftשָׁםshamthereאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםet-e/lo/he/HEMtheir godsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand commandedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוַיִּשָּׂרְפוּvay/yis/sa/re/FUand they were burnedבָּאֵשׁ׃ba/ESHwith fire

    And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

13. 13

    וַיֹּסִיפוּvay/yo/SI/fuand againעוֹדodfurtherפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesוַיִּפְשְׁטוּvay/yif/she/TUraidedבָּעֵמֶק׃ba/E/mekin the valley

    And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

14. 14

    וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand inquiredעוֹדodagainדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMof Godוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלֹאlodo notתַעֲלֶהta/a/LEgo upאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themהָסֵבha/SEVturnמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMaway from themוּבָאתָu/VA/taand comeלָהֶםla/HEMupon themמִמּוּלmim/MULoppositeהַבְּכָאִים׃hab/be/kha/IMthe balsam trees

    Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

15. 15

    וִיהִיvi/HIand it shall beכְּשׇׁמְעֲךָke/shom/a/KHAwhen you hearאֶת־קוֹלet-kolthe sound ofהַצְּעָדָהhats/tse/a/DAthe marchingבְּרָאשֵׁיbe/ra/SHEin the tops ofהַבְּכָאִיםhab/be/kha/IMthe balsam treesאָזazthenתֵּצֵאte/TSEyou shall go outבַמִּלְחָמָהvam/mil/cha/MAto battleכִּי־יָצָאki-ya/TSAfor has gone outהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youלְהַכּוֹתle/hak/KOTto strikeאֶת־מַחֲנֵהet-ma/cha/NEthe camp ofפְלִשְׁתִּים׃Fe/lish/TIMthe Philistines

    And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

16. 16

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהוּtsiv/VA/huhad commanded himהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיַּכּוּvay/yak/KUand they struckאֶת־מַחֲנֵהet-ma/cha/NEthe camp ofפְלִשְׁתִּיםFe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesמִגִּבְעוֹןmig/Giv/ONfrom Gibeonוְעַד־גָּזְרָה׃ve/AD-GAZ/raas far as Gezer

    David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

17. 17

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outשֵׁם־דָּוִידshem-Da/VIDthe fame of Davidבְּכׇל־הָאֲרָצוֹתbe/KHOL-ha/a/ra/TSOTin all the landsוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDנָתַןna/TANputאֶת־פַּחְדּוֹet-pach/DOthe dread of himעַל־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם׃al-kol-hag/go/YIMupon all the nations

    And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
