   וַיִּוָּעַץvay/yiv/va/ATSand took counselדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidעִם־שָׂרֵיim-sa/REwith the commanders ofהָאֲלָפִיםha/a/la/FIMthe thousandsוְהַמֵּאוֹתve/ham/me/OTand the hundredsלְכׇל־נָגִיד׃le/KHOL-na/GIDwith every leader

   And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.

2. 2

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidלְכֹלle/KHOLto allקְהַלke/HALthe assembly ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאִם־עֲלֵיכֶםim-a/le/KHEMif to youטוֹבtovit seems goodוּמִן־יְהֹוָהu/MIN-Adonaiand it is from the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godנִפְרְצָהnif/re/TSAlet us break outנִשְׁלְחָהnish/le/CHAlet us sendעַל־אַחֵינוּal-a/CHE/nuto our brothersהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםhan/nish/a/RIMwho remainבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin allאַרְצוֹתar/TSOTthe lands ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְעִמָּהֶםve/im/ma/HEMand with themהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesבְּעָרֵיbe/a/REin the cities ofמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶםmig/re/she/HEMtheir pasture landsוְיִקָּבְצוּve/yik/ka/ve/TSUthat they may gatherאֵלֵינוּ׃e/LE/nuto us

   And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:

   וְנָסֵבָּהve/na/SEB/baand let us bring aroundאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usכִּי־לֹאki-lofor notדְרַשְׁנֻהוּde/rash/NU/hudid we seek itבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofשָׁאוּל׃Sha/ULSaul

   And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidכׇל־הַקָּהָלkhol-hak/ka/HALall the assemblyלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכֵּןkensoכִּי־יָשַׁרki-ya/SHARfor was rightהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofכׇל־הָעָם׃khol-ha/AMall the people

   And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

   וַיַּקְהֵלvay/yak/HELso assembledדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Kol-yis/ra/ELall Israelמִן־שִׁיחוֹרmin-Shi/CHORfrom the Shihor ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוְעַד־לְבוֹאve/AD-le/VOto the entrance ofחֲמָתCha/MATHamathלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמִקִּרְיַתmik/Kir/YATfrom Kiriath-יְעָרִים׃ye/a/RIMjearim

   So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.

   וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelבַּעֲלָתָהba/A/LA/tato Baalahאֶל־קִרְיַתel-Kir/YATto Kiriath-יְעָרִיםye/a/RIMjearimאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich belongsלִיהוּדָהlI/hu/DAto Judahלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto bring upמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֵת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVenthroned onהַכְּרוּבִיםhak/ke/ru/VIMthe cherubimאֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָאa/SHER-nik/RAwhich is calledשֵׁם׃shemby the name

   And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.

   וַיַּרְכִּיבוּvay/yar/KI/vuand they carriedאֶת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־עֲגָלָהal-a/ga/LAon a cartחֲדָשָׁהcha/da/SHAnewמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofאֲבִינָדָבA/vi/na/DAVAbinadabוְעֻזָּאve/Uz/ZAand Uzzahוְאַחְיוֹve/Ach/YOand Ahioנֹהֲגִיםno/ha/GIMwere drivingבָּעֲגָלָה׃ba/a/ga/LAthe cart

   And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.

8. 8

   וְדָוִידve/Da/VIDand Davidוְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/KHOL-yis/ra/ELand all Israelמְשַׂחֲקִיםme/sa/cha/KIMwere celebratingלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּכׇל־עֹזbe/KHOL-ozwith all mightוּבְשִׁירִיםu/ve/shi/RIMand with singingוּבְכִנֹּרוֹתu/ve/khin/no/ROTand with lyresוּבִנְבָלִיםu/vin/va/LIMand with harpsוּבְתֻפִּיםu/ve/tup/PIMand with timbrelsוּבִמְצִלְתַּיִםu/vim/tsil/TA/yimand with cymbalsוּבַחֲצֹצְרוֹת׃u/va/cha/tsots/ROTand with trumpets

   And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

   וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameעַד־גֹּרֶןad-GO/rento the threshing floor ofכִּידֹןKi/DONKidonוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand reached outעֻזָּאUz/ZAUzzahאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handלֶאֱחֹזle/e/CHOZto take hold ofאֶת־הָאָרוֹןet-ha/a/RONthe arkכִּיkiforשָׁמְטוּsha/me/TUstumbledהַבָּקָר׃hab/ba/KARthe oxen

   And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

10. 10

    וַיִּחַר־אַףvay/YI/char-afand burned the anger ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּעֻזָּאbe/Uz/ZAagainst Uzzahוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand He struck himעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַחa/SHER-sha/LACHhe putיָדוֹya/DOhis handעַל־הָאָרוֹןal-ha/a/RONto the arkוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand he diedשָׁםshamthereלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

11. 11

    וַיִּחַרvay/YI/charand was angryלְדָוִידLe/da/VIDDavidכִּי־פָרַץki-fa/RATSbecause had broken outיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDפֶּרֶץPE/retsa breachבְּעֻזָּאbe/Uz/ZAon Uzzahוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledלַמָּקוֹםlam/ma/KOMthe placeהַהוּאha/HUthatפֶּרֶץPE/retsPerez-עֻזָּאuz/ZAuzzahעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.

12. 12

    וַיִּירָאvay/yi/RAand fearedדָוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהֵיךְhekhhowאָבִיאa/VIshall I bringאֵלַיe/LAYto meאֵת־אֲרוֹןet-a/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

13. 13

    וְלֹא־הֵסִירve/LO-he/SIRand did not removeדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֶת־הָאָרוֹןet-ha/a/RONthe arkאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himselfאֶל־עִירel-irto the city ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוַיַּטֵּהוּvay/yat/TE/hubut turned it asideאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofעֹבֵד־אֱדֹםO/VED-e/DOMObed-edomהַגִּתִּי׃hag/Git/TIthe Gittite

    So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

14. 14

    וַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand stayedאֲרוֹןa/RONthe ark ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעִם־בֵּיתim-betwith the household ofעֹבֵדO/VEDObed-אֱדֹםe/DOMedomבְּבֵיתוֹbe/ve/TOin his houseשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsוַיְבָרֶךְvay/VA/rekhand blessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofעֹבֵד־אֱדֹםO/VED-e/DOMObed-edomוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ׃ve/ET-kol-a/SHER-loand all that he had

    And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
