   This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

   לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUyou may rememberאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהַנֶּאֱמָרִיםhan/ne/e/ma/RIMspokenמִלְּפָנִיםmil/le/fa/NIMbeforeבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsהַקְּדֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMholyוְאֶת־מִצְוָתֵנוּve/ET-mits/va/te/NUand our commandmentאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweשְׁלִיחֵיshe/li/CHEthe apostles ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוְהַמּוֹשִׁיעַ׃ve/ham/Mo/SHI/aand the Savior

   That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

   וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou must knowרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstכִּיkithatבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITat the end ofהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMdaysיָבֹאוּya/VO/uwill comeלֵצִיםle/TSIMscoffersהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwalkingאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterתַאֲוֹתta/a/VOTthe desires ofנַפְשָׁם׃naf/SHAMtheir soul

   Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

   וְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingאַיֵּהay/YEwhere isהַבְטָחַתhav/ta/CHATthe promise ofבֹּאוֹbo/Ohis comingכִּיkiforמֵאָזme/AZsinceיָשֵׁנוּya/she/NUsleptהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersהַכֹּלhak/KOLallעֹמֵדo/MEDstandsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָיָהha/YAit wasמֵרֵאשִׁיתme/re/SHITfrom the beginning ofהַבְּרִיאָה׃hab/be/ri/Acreation

   And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

   כִּיkiforלִרְצוֹנָםlir/tso/NAMby their willנֶעְלַםne/LAMis hiddenמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkithatבִדְבַרvid/VARby the word ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהָיוּha/YUwereהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensמֵאָזme/AZof oldוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the earthעֹמֶדֶתo/ME/detstandingמִן־הַמַּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimfrom the waterוּבְתוֹךְu/ve/TOKHand in the midst ofהַמָּיִם׃ham/MA/yimthe water

   For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּהֶםba/HEMby themאָבַדa/VADperishedהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAwasאָזazthenבְּהִשָּׁטְפוֹbe/hish/sha/te/FOwhen it was floodedבַמָּיִם׃vam/MA/yimby the water

   Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7. 7

   וְהַשָּׁמַיִםve/hash/sha/MA/yimand the heavensוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areעַתָּהat/TAnowבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARby the wordהַהוּאha/HUthatנֶאֱצָרִיםne/e/tsa/RIMare stored upצְפוּנִיםtse/fu/NIMkeptלָאֵשׁla/ESHfor fireלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the day ofהַדִּיןhad/DINjudgmentוַאֲבַדּוֹןva/a/vad/DONand the destruction ofאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהָרֶשַׁע׃ha/RE/shawickedness

   But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8. 8

   וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisהָאַחַתha/a/CHATone thingאַל־תֵּעָלֵםal-te/a/LEMlet not be hiddenמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youיְדִידַיye/di/DAYmy belovedכִּיkithatיוֹםyomdayאֶחָדe/CHADoneבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDכְּאֶלֶףke/E/lefis as a thousandשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsוְאֶלֶףve/E/lefand a thousandשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsכְּיוֹםke/YOMas a dayאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

   לֹא־יְאַחֵרlo-ye/a/CHERdoes not delayהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatהִבְטִיחַhiv/TI/achHe promisedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיֵשׁyeshthere areאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיַחְשְׁבוּyach/she/VUcountכִּי־יְאַחֵרki-ye/a/CHERthat he delaysכִּיkibutמַאֲרִיךְma/a/RIKHHe lengthensאַפּוֹap/POHis angerאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usוְלֹאve/LOand notיַחְפֹּץyach/POTSHe desiresבַּאֲבֹדba/a/VODthe perishing ofאִישׁishanyכִּיkibutאִם־בְּבוֹאim-be/VOrather the coming ofכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallלִתְשׁוּבָה׃lit/shu/VAto repentance

   The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

    אֲבָלa/VALbutיוֹם־יְהוָֹהyom-Adonaithe day of the LORDיָבוֹאya/VOwill comeכַּגַּנָּבkag/gan/NAVlike a thiefבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/lain the nightאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבּוֹboin itהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensיַעַבְרוּya/av/RUwill pass awayבְּשָׁאוֹןbe/sha/ONwith a roarגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוְהַיְסֹדוֹתve/hay/so/DOTand the elementsיִמַּסּוּyim/mas/SUwill meltבְּחֹםbe/CHOMwith heatוְגַםve/GAMalsoהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְהַמַּעֲשִׂיםve/ham/ma/a/SIMand the worksאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areבָּהּbain itיִשָּׂרֵפוּ׃yis/sa/re/FUwill be burned up

    But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11. 11

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceכׇּל־אֵלֶּהkol-EL/leall these thingsיִמַּקּוּyim/MAK/kuwill dissolveמַה־מְּאֹדma-me/ODhow greatlyעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMit is upon youלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beבְּכׇל־דַּרְכֵיbe/KHOL-dar/KHEin all the ways ofקֹדֶשׁKO/deshholyוַחֲסִידוּת׃va/cha/si/DUTand godliness

    Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

    מְחַכִּיםme/chak/KIMwaitingלְבוֹאle/VOfor the coming ofיוֹםyomthe day ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוּמְחִישִׁיםu/me/chi/SHIMand hasteningאֹתוֹo/TOitאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבּוֹboin itהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensבֹּעֲרִיםbo/a/RIMburningבָּאֵשׁba/ESHin fireיִמַּקּוּyim/MAK/kuwill dissolveוְהַיְסֹדוֹתve/hay/so/DOTand the elementsיִמַּסּוּyim/mas/SUwill meltבְּחֹם׃be/CHOMwith heat

    Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13. 13

    אֲבָלa/VALneverthelessאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהַבְטָחָתוֹhav/ta/cha/TOHis promiseמְחַכִּיםme/chak/KIMwaitלְשָׁמַיִםle/sha/MA/yimfor heavensחֲדָשִׁיםcha/da/SHIMnewוּלְאֶרֶץu/le/E/retsand for an earthחֲדָשָׁהcha/da/SHAnewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִשְׁכֹּןyish/KONdwellsבָּהֶםba/HEMin themצֶדֶק׃TSE/dekrighteousness

    Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14. 14

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיְדִידַיye/di/DAYmy belovedבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמְחַכִּיםme/chak/KIMwaitingלְאֵלֶּהle/EL/lefor theseהֱיוּhe/YUbeחָרוּצִיםcha/ru/TSIMdiligentלְהִמָּצֵאle/him/ma/TSEto be foundלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutמוּםmumblemishוּנְקִיִּם׃u/ne/kiy/YIMand innocent

    Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15. 15

    וְאֶת־אֹרֶךְve/ET-O/rekhand the length ofאַףafthe anger ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordחִשְׁבוּchish/VUcountלִתְשׁוּעָהlit/shu/Aas salvationכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־אָחִינוּgam-a/CHI/nualso our brotherהַיְדִידhay/DIDthe belovedפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהַחׇכְמָהha/chokh/MAthe wisdomהַנְּתוּנָהhan/ne/tu/NAgivenלוֹloto himכָּתַבka/TAVwroteאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

    And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16. 16

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּםgamalsoבְּכׇל־אִגְּרֹתָיוbe/KHOL-ig/ge/ro/TAYVin all his lettersבְּדַבְּרוֹbe/dab/be/ROas he spokeבָהֶןva/HENin themעַל־אֵלֶּהal-EL/leof theseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּהֶןba/HENin themדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsקָשִׁיםka/SHIMhardלְהָבִיןle/ha/VINto understandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְעַצֵּבוּye/ats/TSE/vuthey twistלֹא־יֹדְעֵיlo-yod/Ethose who do not knowסֵפֶרSE/ferlettersוְהַפֹּחֲזִיםve/hap/po/cha/ZIMand the unstableכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUthey doגַּםgamalsoבְּיֶתֶרbe/YE/terwith the rest ofהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMthe scripturesלַאֲבַדּוֹןla/a/vad/DONto destructionנַפְשָׁם׃naf/SHAMtheir soul

    As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17. 17

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youיְדִידַיye/di/DAYmy belovedעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowאֵלֶּהEL/lethese thingsמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHbeforehandהִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUguardלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesפֶּן־תִּמָּשְׁכוּpen-tim/ma/she/KHUlest you be drawn awayגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoבְּתוֹעַתbe/to/ATby the error ofהָרְשָׁעִיםha/re/sha/IMthe wickedוּנְפַלְתֶּםu/ne/fal/TEMand fallמִתׇּקְפְּכֶם׃mit/tok/pe/KHEMfrom your steadfastness

    Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

18. 18

    וְגִדְלוּve/gid/LUand growבְּחֶסֶדbe/CHE/sedin graceוּבְדַעַתu/ve/DA/atand in the knowledge ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordוּמוֹשִׁיעֵנוּu/Mo/shi/e/NUand our SaviorיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלוֹloto himהַכָּבוֹדhak/ka/VODthe gloryגַּם־עַתָּהgam-at/TAalso nowוְגַם־לְעוֹלָםve/GAM-le/o/LAMand also foreverאָמֵן׃a/MENamen

    But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
